lol, you do know that in order to make a report he has to communicate with the WvW community first to find out what people’s thoughts are.
So in order to report to “them”, he’ll first have to talk to us!
Or will he do it the anet way and ignore everyone on the forums and decide what he likes best?Still a bad start to this if these guys are still waiting on how anet want the reports written up, surely that should have been done before assigning the specialists.
You do know that in order to make a report he started a topic and people that had thoughts and wanted to contribute posted, which he can mine for his report?
It doesn’t require a two-way conversation after the start.
Definitely do not take anybody’s recommendation for what tier you should move to, especially if they’re in the tier they’re recommending. Bias, and all that.
Connect with your BP community first and get an overview of what’s what. Then decide what you want and inquire back here on where to get it.
Also, don’t listen to anybody’s description of a tier they’re not currently in. Higher tiers always say that everything below them is dead, and lower tiers tend to describe anything higher as a zergfest.
Note that anything above my current tier is a zergfest. nods
Hey all, so I’m coming back to the game after a 1 or 2 year hiatus and want to get back into PvP. However, I see that Borlis Pass is literally dead last in T8 (go figure) and was wondering if it really means anything? I primarily solo roam on my thief but I like to run with blobs sometimes but I can’t even seem to find a single soul on the server. I roamed for a bout 2 hours and only found 2 enemies from SF who just ran away. I even tried to join a zerg but I couldn’t find any commanders.
Is BP truly dead now? Should I just spend the 1800 gems and transfer to a T4-T5 (chose them because I heard they are the best for solo roaming)? Really need some advice here. Thanks in advance.
Find your community’s current website and TeamSpeak server, ask in map chat if need be, and start to hook yourself into the community. Then you’ll have a much better picture of what it is and can make an informed decision on whether it’s right for you or not.
2 men build an ac within 5 secs. 3 build sup ac. Sup ac melt catas way more faster as catas melt walls.
I dont realy like the whole siege experience. My favourite was fort aspenwood from gw1. That was a siege!
With spirit-dropping ritualists everywhere.
And it’s been suggested previously with lots of good reasons to do it as well.
Not a new suggestion, but one that’s definitely been heard. But, have to give props for independent discoveries, so +1.

This week? Just the bandwagon heading upwards for another explosion. We’ll catch them again on the way down.

Taking minutes to down a wall isn’t what I’d consider melting. Also, if the catas are too close for mortars, one person on an arrow cart can completely shut them down.
Though, it’d make more sense if mortars weren’t so easy to kill…
From my experience superior siege are extremely tanky and arrow carts do like 1% of their HP per 10s :|. I was on an arrow cart spamming damage on a ram and after like 2 minutes the ram was still at 50%+ HP.
The superior ACs shut down the rams by making it impossible to stay on them.
That’s because it’s not part of his post, it’s part of the forum specialist’s tasks:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Guild-Wars-2-Forum-Specialists-Program
In addition, all Guild Wars 2 Forum Specialists
- must sign the Guild Wars 2 Forum Specialist Terms and Conditions
- must live in the USA and be age 18 or older, for legal reasons
- can be removed from the program at any time, for any reason
- must abide by the Guild Wars 2 Forum Code of Conduct
- are requested to provide a weekly feedback report on behalf of the community to the ArenaNet Forum Communications Team
So I’m confused as how can someone report weekly when they havent communicated with the community on the forums about anything new???

Is there a reason why you can’t be on your own team instead of showing up on one side or another?
It would sure be disorienting to have to read three /m or /t simultaneously.
I’m going to post the best response I ever read to this neverending “issue” that keeps getting new threads made for it:
If Anet makes a change like this just so PvE players can get a specific weapon skin easier, then they’re going to need to fix a lot of PvE events as well. For instance, I’d really like to have some of the Tequatl ascended weapon skins, but Tequatl doesn’t get defeated that often, and is usually only defeated during certain times of the day, by organized guilds who completely fill up their map well BEFORE the event becomes available to start. And a single player, of course has NO CHANCE of defeating Tequatl. Even a small, organized group can’t do it, anymore than you and a few friends can take a defended Keep or Stonemist Castle; in fact, far more people have soloed Keeps than Tequatl, as I’ve NEVER seen a video of someone soloing Tequatl, or even any claim of it having been attempted. So my job basically makes it too difficult for me to finish Tequatl at all, let alone enough times to have a decent chance at finally getting one of those rare weapon drops. And those aren’t even Legendary, they’re just Ascended! So maybe Anet could give me the same chance of getting a Tequatl weapon skin every time I kill a Keep Lord as I would if I were defeating Tequatl, since my schedule doesn’t seem to prevent me from killing Keep Lords several times a week. This is just one of many PvE events that I don’t have time for, as a well-compensated professional. But I should still have access to the same weapon skins as everyone else, even if I never complete the events!!! Hurry up Anet and fix this game to better fit my schedule!!!

Mortars are rock solid compared to cannons – when was the last time you actually found a cannon on your wall when the barbarians were at the gate?
If you cared about the castle, you should defend it by building siege on walls, and have scouts ready to call for reinforcements should a zerg roll by.
See, t’was just a matter of time.
Well played.
[Insert obligatory siege disable and call for reinforcements post]
Paper wall = paper cata
Reinforced wall = Superior cata…
If I used a regular cata it would take forever. Why can’t I target the corner of a wall to weaken the joined sections? Make that change for me please…
Or arc over the wall and hit the far one from the inside, directing the force in the opposite direction from where it’s buttressed. Utilize some physics, ANet!
(But not if that means having to find boulder to fling. Although Asurans…)
how about superior dogs to fend off the cats?
PS sry i couldnt resist but i agree with op
Spiked collar upgrade is OP.
The problem is the constant stacking in attempts to create a fight tier. Now don’t get me wrong I love fights and the idea of a fight tier but when there is 4 T2 servers that are miles ahead of any server that could land in T3 it causes issues for those below T2, and the T2 server that gets tossed down.
It’s the same reason FA is currently T1.5, I never understood why all the fight guild stack only T2, would it not make more sense to stack 6 server vs 3-4 ? If both T2 & T3 were full of the fight guilds they would have a revolving door of match ups, dropping down to T3 wouldn’t affect their ability to find fight (causing them to move furthering the damage to T2).
Fights are great, I agree with this, I don’t care for PPT but having 6 servers revolving the fights vs 3-4, would make life better for everyone in those two tiers … well except the PPT heroes.
You’re absolutely right – it’s a pity that stackers can’t see something so simple.
It’s not the players job to care. The player wants what the player wants. And often that’s to find people to fight against at any given time they are looking. Thus why they stack where they know they can find the action.
Not the player’s job to care that the game mode they enjoy will still be something they can enjoy tomorrow, next month, next year? A little stewardship by the end users just makes sense. Call it preventative maintenance.
It’s ANets responsibility to ensure their servers have thriving and viable populations to support their existence. This is why server mergers are a much better idea than deconstructing a server and spreading out the players evenly.
I don’t get what’s so hard to understand about server mergers being a bad idea – most NA servers have a prime time that overlaps each other. So a merger means queues and therefore people who want to play but are unable to. Queues are not a sign of health.
With an expansion coming perhaps their server technology will change and they’ll be able to make much larger worlds to fight on and we won’t be bothered by servers at all. This is where a lot of the newer MMOs are going. Perhaps GW2 should join in.
I’d be surprised – the engine (and definitely people running machines that were above the recommended hardware for GW2 when it came out) groans when there are 60v60(v60) fights as it is. Don’t hold your breath for increased map population caps. And that’s a bad way to go with GW2 anyway – people who want that have other games as options.
That’s because this week SBI is fighting two servers from a tier above it, and it’s way out of its league. No doubt fewer people are signing in while the brutalizing is going on, so this week may not be your best metric for how SBI is.
That said, I’m from a tier below where SBI is, so hopefully some of your servermates can better answer you.
I did not realize this but persisting ground aoe stab effects maybe the strongest version of stab for wvw so necro well of power may become very good soon. Image one of the worst stab classes will be getting a lot better at self stab and stab support.
Well of power only gives the user stability and it doesn’t pulse stability it gives you in once and it’s only 1 second long
Awww well i guess its still good for the necro.
Yup but when the change goes through and ranged combat becomes the new meta everyone can stack on the ground target pulsing skills and pew pew each other without moving. As long as you have the bigger group you will win!
Until the thfs dive on the back line we can get some real gank or when the full hammer tran appears from being mass stealth from vail or even portal bomb 2 prong attk. Remember the meta is having mass number of guardians because stab is so op and unstoppable.
nope that’s the old meta, we are moving on to the ranged meta. Now bow before your ranger overlords!
Ya if your going to single target and kill a zerg one at a time….. Your never going to even full down ppl. But even if its the way you say the hard counter to rang meta is gank meta.
You doubt the power of the bow!? You are lucky we are merciful overlords, your death will be a swift one.
Assuming you’ve traited for Read the Wind. Otherwise the death is more meandering.
Yes people are still crying about this, Many people are not crying though, but instead are just deleting the game.
The solution to the problem appears to be, let the underdog die out every time they hit the ceiling that is rank#8.
The server that reaches Rank 8 just has people quit playing wvw, and the game, and then another server can move up, get frustrated and ignored, then That server will lose people, quitting the game, quitting wvw, its an endless cycle that Anet has shown no recognition of or any interest in fixing. They’re really not quitting when they hit rank 8. I had a look at your post history and the bulk of your posts is complaining about problems you’ve had in the game, key farming, letting guild leaders start keg brawls for some reason…
The servers are not completely balanced AND there isn’t a smooth progression from 24 to 1, and as has been explained there are four T2 servers in a tier where only three can fit, so one is displaced down to T3.
Want to fix that? Convince one of the four to destack to T3 levels. It’s not ANet’s fault or problem that players stacked upward like this. If you personally are not enjoying this week’s matchup, then do something else. Or find a way to make it fun. Or do whatever. But enough of the whining already – which of the other three T2-level servers would you have preferred to face this week?
Why isn’t it Anet’s fault? They allow for server transfers when their game has a mode which basically requires some form of server loyalty to function properly. The reason they are not adressing this is because it’s netting them a good sum of money. It was a lot more balanced before people could transfer. My server basically has no WvW players left. My entire Guild moved to another server. I’m the only naïve fool who refuses to do so, atleast for now.
I haven’t played in ages, but it looks like WvW is STILL plagued by the exact problems it had a year ago.
Yes, it’s allowed in the game framework. But ANet didn’t make anybody do it, players did it. That’s why it’s not ANet’s “fault”.
And other than speculation, how do you know it’s netting them any money? Gold converts to gems nice and easily, and if you had the foresight to start converting to gems in the long long ago, you’re in great shape.
More balanced before people could transfer? Since when couldn’t you transfer?
And lots of guilds currently in silver and bronze have gone through a T8 phase, so we know how it is. It’s people’s fault, not the game. Read up – every single time someone suggests something to address the problem, people scream that they don’t want the change, that they don’t want to move or destack or any of the sensible things that need to happen if the game is going to have any playable longevity to it.
That’s players, not ANet.
Yeah, it’s pretty terrible. Makes you want to rage quit after a while.
Playing on one of the low population servers you wonder how there are so many people on high population servers willing to sit there as troll defenders….and begs the question:
How do you kill that which has no life?
We’re going to have to go into the forest and kill boars.
I do know what I’m talking about I’ve seen it because I am on SBI too.
Surely you’ve seen matches where we are able to keep numbers in the game? So the players exist.
The reason you end up with 10 -15 people on a map is because people feel like there is no point in coming out to play this week because its a bad match. And the reason its a bad match is because YB can outnumber us on every map.
Perhaps spreading out wasn’t the right terminology. My point was in a match like this it is hopeless to try to fight YB on their terms. Trying to play the defend Home BL and our third of EB in a match like this is just an exercise in futility. And it ends up being frustrating and demoralizing and people don’t come out to play.
But if both us an HoD were to treat it like an event. We’ve had events before to try to have fun – such as trying to take and waypoint a particular keep. And if we were to do that against YB BL Bay as an example (which I think I noticed was taken at some point) then we would be able to get people involved in something other than feeling overwhelmed by their numbers.
Because on their BL we can outnumber them. The map cap is only around 100. Even if each of us, SBI and HoD, could only muster half as many people as YB – that would still make it an even match.
This is an excellent post, and what you describe is one of the reasons that there are three servers in a matchup instead of two.
Playing for second is a chump’s game. Not playing a game mode you enjoy just spreads the misery on to other sads. Everybody living on #1’s BL gives you fights and flips and since you can’t play for PPT that week anyway, you can just relax about it.
+1

boringlocking themselves out.FA doesn’t want to experience silver league again like last year (season 2 silver) and oh hello HoD and YB
Is history doomed to repeat? Stay tuned!

This in game voting approach may get some former PvE people interested in WvW. It would be even more fun if the voting was done every once in a while to constantly change up WvW based on who (or what) won the WvW votes.
Voters who are uninformed but have an equal vote are detrimental to getting anything done. Since this forum in its entirety represents the ideas, complaints, issues and analysis of the player base that has cared to post, and is maintained by ANet, why would popping up a “Do you want this? Yes or no?” window to everybody in the game (out of which only a non-majority percentage actually WvW, if my impressions are correct) to decide about the intricacies of proposed changes?
These “uninformed” people are the reason why WvW is so dead. If you’re not even going to reach out to the massive player base already here then this thread is already shot down. Nobody installs and goes straight to WvW and stays there. They all come from PvE at some point. Engage them and get that massive population into WvW.
We used to, but then the megaserver system came into effect and it applied to cities as well. At that point, you had PvE-centric people who were aware of the names of WvW guilds on their server, and they either drifted in or not.
Now? People tend to tune out the flood of recruitment messages because so few apply to them and, despite the forums, new people joining WvW tends to be via word of mouth or happenstance (i.e. you see a tagless person in WvW and snap them up).
The in-game voting, even if it pops up when you first log in, isn’t going to be anything more than a how-do-I-click-past-this-so-I-can-continue-doing-what-I-was-going-to-do-anyway for people that aren’t concerned by it.
And you don’t reach out to people by putting them into a decision making position – why would you want someone who (presumably, since we’re talking about people who don’t really WvW and don’t read the forums) doesn’t know what they’re talking about making decisions that affect people who do? Your state or province might want money or people or resources from another one, but it wouldn’t give those people a say in your local elections, because they don’t speak for the people who are already there.
Now if you wanted to put a vote up when you sign into WvW, that would be something else. Even if the person doesn’t WvW at all and were only going there at the instigation of their friend or their guild or their server to try to sway the vote, at least they’d have been interested enough to press B.
Sorry, I know this thread is relatively old, but I would like to know the answer to this as well. I have been skinning exotics with normal skins as a different set to run around in sPvP and WvW in because I’m not sure.
No, an opponent can’t see them when you’re stealthed.
Large guild groups tend to defend important objectives when needed, so they are not hurting the server really.
Not when they’re GvGing they don’t.
This in game voting approach may get some former PvE people interested in WvW. It would be even more fun if the voting was done every once in a while to constantly change up WvW based on who (or what) won the WvW votes.

the vast majorities of people who see the score are going to be turned off from showing up and playing that week. Not everyone is in a WvW guild, and has the organization to make WvW fun when you’re losing.
Perhaps if the vast majority of people showed up earlier in the match, they wouldn’t find the score showing such a big disparity.
You’re saying that it’s a fact that I’m wrong about people not showing up? Have you played on tier 1 server? The maps are overflowing with people. EB will often be queued 20 minutes BEFORE a match resets for the week.
Compare that to a tier 3 or 4 server that’s lucky to get enough players to queue one map on reset at prime time. Most of the tier 1 servers are pop capped. You can’t transfer to BG but you sure as heck can transfer to a tier 3 or 4.
You’re statment is not only criticizing for no reason but also shows ignorance related to the topic. Even if my server had every player who WvWed show up this week we would still lose to YB. Its population based. YB has a higher population so they’ve got more players to pool into WvW.
No, I don’t think you’re wrong at all. I do think that structural changes to WvW shouldn’t be made for people who will look at the score and not bother to show up if their server isn’t winning due to the effort of other people.
Except that I don’t say my server is awesome, or that people should try harder.
What I say is, for things to change someone has to be first. And if (generic) you’re concerned enough to be complaining about it, you’re as good a person as any to do it.
If you’ve read my previous posts, then hopefully you’ve read them in the threads they’re in. People complain “I go into WvW, we don’t own anything, so I just log out”.
So if what they want is to own some stuff, they can go flip the camps on a BL. Assuming they’re not the black sheep of their server, there are probably others than think like them, so if a camp or two flip to their colour, then more people like them will play, which will snowball the small modest original effort they made.
What I will always argue is the “I’m not having fun – change the game to suit me, regardless of how many other people don’t want it” style of complaints. Just like most of the WvW playing population – especially if they’ve been around for a while – I’ve been through riding high during a massively imbalanced matchup (it’s a clear sign you’re too strong for the match when your score is double the sum of the other two servers) and the bottom of the “let’s see how long we tick at +0” matches.
Had a server full of skilled people, had an empty server. Been high, been low, and have been trending higher again lately. And my experience isn’t unique.
If every one of my posts isn’t a handcrafted masterpiece that solves every problem in the original post, it’s because so very few of these problems are new. So when you’re posting in the hundredth identical thread that’s been started in the past six months, it gets a bit wearying. And while the search function for the server isn’t the greatest in the world, it’s not broken either
I do like my server, and I use what we’ve done there as an example to illustrate what I’m saying if it applies to the OP, but I’m not a shill for it. If it lets you, and it only occasionally lets me do it to other people, look at my highest rated posts. My constructive posts are all there, along with a couple of funny ones.
But I’ll promise you that if people stop rehashing issues that have been totally talked out and come up with new problems, you’ll enjoy my initial responses more. And if you’re around long enough to see the same posts, often followed by “The death of WvW” or “this will drive all the WvWers to quit” a few dozen times, you can chart the decline in helpfulness in my posts.
And if it really bothers you, report the post. Making this about me is doing a disservice to the purpose of this thread, and will kill dead any further debate that anybody wants to do.
There you go again, attacking instead of contributing.
People are not quitting because we’re not winning, They’re quitting because when they go into a match, they get overrun with 7 to 1 ratio of players. We have people who enjoy doing many different things that wvw has to offer, but none of those objectives are available when you are out numbered by such a large margin.
There are things that could be done to improve the game play between servers, name one. ( read the previous posts if you need help thinking of one)
Actually, I’m quoted in the original post. Where’s your contribution, again?
I win, you lose – its ok to move on now.
I’m glad you won’t be hijacking the thread to make it all about me anymore. Keep those constructive suggestions flowing.

Just ignore it. But I do agree it’s uncalled for, and we should be focused on solutions on how to herd cats, rather than assumptions and snapping at each other.[/quote]
You posted sometime in the past week that you’ve only been playing for a month or so, so you wouldn’t know this, but there was a time when a staff ele would drop a meteor shower and then use the tornado elite – it would magnify the damage of the meteor shower tremendously. Lots of people called it a meteornado, but on my server we thought it was trolly so started calling it a trollnado.
party buddy is responding like that because he was just complaining in either this thread or another one, and I had a look at his post history and found that the bulk of his posts were exactly that – complaints. Not constructive ones, but “ANet isn’t giving me what I want” type posts and I remarked on it. There’s nothing constructive about “this should not happen” and a picture of a matchup.
If he doesn’t want confrontational posts, he shouldn’t be doing them to me either. And if he feels I’m out of order, there’s the option to report a post to the moderators.
(edited by Rimmy.9217)
Actually the people complaining are those that try to use skill in this part of the game. What people are complaining about is the fact that Anet doesn’t want people to think but instead run around in 80 man groups spamming skills however they want. If 20 go against 40 they are already crippled by aoe restrictions and critical dmg nerf. When you add the stability change it basically will make it close to impossible for the smaller group, even being more skilled, to win.
This is always such a strange assertion to read – twenty people going against forty would be subject to those same unlocked aoes and crits.
Perhaps if the vast majority of people showed up earlier in the match, they wouldn’t find the score showing such a big disparity.
Perhaps there are not a comparable number of wvw players on the server to show up to make a difference in the disparity. I know from what I have seen in my own guild this influences people who do enjoy wvw to feel disinclined to join in for the week.
Rimmy, I’ve noticed most of your posts are confrontational, and typically use hypothetical confusions of what could happen in the future, while attempting to belittle a person’s view of what has happened in the past. Lets try more posts on fixing the problem, and less on targeting peoples views with unfounded tripe.
When people are stating things that are wrong, they need to be confronted. Personal beliefs and feelings aren’t fact.
But okay, here’s the problem that needs to be fixed that you brought up: you have witnessed in your own guild that there are people who won’t play WvW if other people haven’t already been winning the day for them. Is this accurate?
More so, you feel that the current YB/HoD/SBI matchup should never have happened, is this also accurate?
For the first – who cares? While winning is fun, it’s a result of playing – it’s not the actual reward. So why are people in your guild using the current score to decide if they’re going to play WvW or not? To compare, people with that sort of an attitude are similar to the people in PvE that show up for a world boss, sit where it’s going to spawn, and complain in map chat that “What, nobody is doing the pre?” without doing it themselves. If you (generic) are someone who cares about the score, then you have to try to score. Your efforts can’t be contingent on what other people before you have done. In fact, if the people before you have been contributing to the score, aren’t the fairweathers who sniff at the score and don’t bother to show up just demoralizing them? As in “We played for hours to keep our PPT over +100, and then nobody showed up and just let it all go for naught”.
This is a people problem, not a game problem. It’s even built right into the game – what do you get if you win? A couple of extra chests when you level the following week. So why exactly is their participation in WvW based on the score, pray tell?
For the second problem, how would you prefer the servers be matched? I don’t know how long you’ve been playing, but once upon a time it was based on your rank. 1 would always fight 2 and 3. 19 would always fight 20 and 21. Even back then, the matchup got stale. My own server got locked into a thirteen week matchup with the same guys.
So, we got the randomizer. That resulted (sometimes) in wildly ridiculous matchups, and so we finally got what we have now – it’s based on your glicko rating with a bit of a random factor in it. SoS in seventh place (with a rating so close to sixth you could spit a watermelon seed at it) got into the T2 matchup, and that meant that a T2 server had to be displaced, and YB ended up fighting in T3. So what? The T3 matchup looks not dissimilar to T5 and T6 this week, but what’s the issue?
Do you think YB is enjoying a total blowout? It’s completely boring to be on that side of it too. Even with all of the points they’re scoring, they’re only raising their own rating by about 10.
But do tell – how would you like the matches to be arranged? Without some radical overhaul where servers are combined or red/green/blue factions created – meaning keeping the essential shape of the servers as they are now – how would YOU like to see the matchups determined?
And bear in mind that nobody picks these, so please describe something that can be coded rather than one based on feeling.
Is is mathematical impossible to let all servers change colours on refresh? I have not met anyone yet who loves to be the same colour every week.
Colour only matters for people doing map completion (not important, in other words) and a slight difference in defending in EBG. Otherwise, it’s (mostly) just to tell you who is likely to be first, second and third in a particular matchup.
the vast majorities of people who see the score are going to be turned off from showing up and playing that week. Not everyone is in a WvW guild, and has the organization to make WvW fun when you’re losing.
Perhaps if the vast majority of people showed up earlier in the match, they wouldn’t find the score showing such a big disparity.
No, I get it. But it’s boring to be way out in front, and it’s boring to be constantly crushed, so it’s good when something is done about it.
Still, it’s only Saturday.
Not only boring but discouraging too. :\ Not sure what can be done, but fairer matches are needed. Hopefully the expansion breathes some new life into WvW.
Not discouraging – I like roaming in these matches.
Granted, I roam otherwise.
Nah. Mag has got lots of transfers over the past month, and are outpopulating us and CD. A pity CD can’t get it together enough so that the both of us can focus Mag and give everybody a fun week, but meh.
Easier target = path of least resistance thus… you know fight you. People are lazy :\
My server so far has been good and is mostly focusing the leading server, but I think it’s because they aren’t that far ahead and we are more equally matched. Time for this little Squire (lawl, squire rank!) to tag along and have an easier time learning to ropes of WvW.

At least the match ups are looking slightly better this week. Tier 3 looks brutal and tier 5 look unhappy.

This is probably a change made in response to player feedback and advice via CDI. People stated that organised small groups should be able to beat larger less-organised groups.
Congrats on destroying an entire game mode.
Think of it as re-education. That always goes down well.
a lot of these guilds aren’t capable of that. theyre good at two thing only, facerolling on their guards and warriors, and disbanding
this is crucial to understand about the gvg community.
+1, and an actual lol
So basically you’re saying guards+wars should just leave WvW because there is a small base of players that refuses to use teamspeak?
No, but their disproportionate representation in WvW can be addressed. When they balance out with, say, the presence of engineers… we’ll be in good shape.
I get that people are massively invested (mentally) in the status quo. But all of the theory and play time that resulted in the current meta (and the variations of it previously) get to be redone – now people get to MAKE the new meta. That sounds pretty fun to me, frankly.
If they removed all skills so that only autoattacks exist, that would be new meta also. Just because there’s new meta doesn’t necessarily make it a good change.
This is an example where it likely will be really bad because balancing is based on 5v5 gameplay which means stability will be badly balanced for WvW.
But they’re not doing that, they’re changing the way that stability works. All the tears and (sadly, predictable) claims of doom, DOOM!… for WvW are ridiculous. It means that people that haven’t had to learn their skills in years are going to get a kick in their complacency and have to adapt.
And the tactics, builds, and group compositions that come out of all of that will be the meta.
Everybody having one skill isn’t a meta.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
this WILL RUIN THE WHOLE META OF GVG
You mean that thing that players do that isn’t actually supported by the dev?
It’s game over for WvW.
OR, some of the people wasting time GvGing might actually put some/more time IN to WvW.
If GvG dies, most of the “serious” gvgers will leave. You will only loose players
We’ve lost plenty as a result of tiers and tiers of unbalanced matchups by “serious” GvGers stacking into a few servers. If they want to strop off because they have to change up what they do, they won’t be missed.

No one wants to play your brain dead siege wars.. Gw2’s combat system is what’s keeping wvw alive and it’s hanging by a thread at the moment.
Apparently if GvG stops, WvW becomes siege only.
When was the last time you WvWed again?

It is a well known fact that other servers buy other servers guilds. On the server I am on now they are currently funding a war chest to fund such guild moves. On our TS council meeting each week we have guilds stating they will leave our server if we stay in our current rank because they are looking for fights and it’s boring on our server now in T3 since we dominate each week. There is nothing your server can do if one of your current fight or GVG guilds wants to move. In order to remain competitive with the hope of going back to T2 you have to buy other guilds or you loose your current population. This pride of your server is no longer a factor. Coverage is the overall defining theme.
No, the poster above you is on Anvil Rock and has had a month (this being the fourth week) of dealing with Maguuma. The first week wasn’t as bad, but there has been lots of people moving to Maguuma since then, so it has been just crushing that tier.
GoM and Maguuma are going to switch places, and thus tiers, for reset, so there’s a high likelihood that T6 will have a different matchup this week.
That said, GoM is no pushover either, but at least it’ll be something different.
