Looking for A Good PvE and/or WvW Guild

I hail from Dragonbrand, and am in dire need of assistance with finding a good guild to run dungeons with often.

My main areas of concern are doing higher Fractals and CoF Speed Runs. This guild does not have to be from Dragonbrand.

If the guild has a dedicated schedule to Guild Bountys, Rushes, and other activities of the like on any other day than Saturday, this is a huge plus.

For a guild, I’d prefer they’re active in chat and friendly, but it isn’t necessarily required as I’m an in-and-out social person who really prefers to keep people at arm’s length, though I am moderately talkative with a brash, often dry sense of humor.
I will however state outright that I do not like witnessing needless petty arguing, and if I sense the slightest tension between members causing unnecessary drama, I will most likely bail without warning.
Lack of Sense of Humor will also result in me leaving, IE: I left a guild because some bimbo raged at a “Yo Mama” joke with the guild leader contacting me like I just molested their first born.

I also need a decent World Vs World guild simply because I frequent the Borderlands often between 8pm EST onwards.

My main is a Mesmer, and I’m experienced with Wve, Fractals, And CoF Speed Runs.
I am also helpful, and do not mind taking my time to help other guild members with their endeavors. If there is anything I do not know, I do try to actively learn to the better assistance of a guild.

Okay, that’s it. Recruit me.

Anyway, i feel sorry for you. The best advice i can give you: don’t do fractals. And if you do, don’t pug fractals. People always start leaving my groups when i tell them mesmer GS/Guardian scepter sucks in dredge where you need cleave damage.

Well, me being a bit of a perfectionist, I want ascendeds for my various characters, so I have been working towards that end. With that said, skipping fractals isn’t an option for me.
But I do need to honestly find a decent group of people to do these runs with, you’re right.

Your story sounds pretty odd, though I’ve never really had the job of solo carrying an entire party before.

You could have summoned the golems by a bug. if your armor was all Exotic CoE armor (regardless of the runes currently applied) at one point, your clones will all have the summon golem ability. This is a bug and I see it happen all the time. Actually it can be quite funny on Subject Alpha when 3 Mark I golems spawn and everyone goes “What the Chicken!?” when 3 golems knock alpha all over the place. Unfortunately it can also be pretty bad when a golem survives phase 1 and 2 of GL and your team gets unnecessarily necrotic trapped….

I’ve never heard of this bug until now.
Also, it still couldn’t have been me because I don’t have any CoE armor at all. My armor is Full Zerker/Ruby Orb transmuted with Orrian/Nightmare.

I’ve still got the golem runes from the CoE armor set on my ranger. I originally intended replacing them but the golem is fun and I just enjoy seeing it turn it up. If I was taking the ranger into fractal 30+ I’d take the runes out but I’m not, and all other group content will be ok whatever runes I use.

For the original poster, that’s a sad tale but your group was probably poor and doomed to fail anyway. Bad players always find ways to make things difficult.

They were honestly making life difficult in the run anyways when I think about how annoying they were leaving the harpies open, and how they kept gaffing the first fractal. I’ll just remember this so that I can kick any of their guild bretheren the minute I see them indiscriminately if I absolutely have to pug.

It’s so frustrating. Hopefully I find a decent dungeoning guild to accompany soon.

Obviously, I was kitten ed so I immediately whispered the party leader and wasn’t nice about it. Told me he kicked me because of the Maw thing and because, LMFAO he said I was downed most of the time. Spent about a good hour pretty kitten close to a ragequit.

My absolute sympathies goes out to you. I honestly had less than kind words for the person whom I whispered concerning my kick either after they refused to oblige as well, much like your situation. When this happened, I did consider rage quitting. After a night of rest, I think I’ll just choose my pugs more carefully instead of staying in fractals that are made difficult to begin with. I have a tendency to continue batting away at dungeons, even if they seem to be not doing too well.

If I do ever see any of these individuals again, I will probably extract much pleasure from insta-kicking them for being absolute morons.

The person of which you speak is one of the most annoying cancers on Gate of Madness and you have my sympathies for having to deal with him in a Fractals run.

Oh dear. Now this has me dying of curiosity, despite discussing specifics on the forums being a tad borderline.

Sounds like it was set up in the beginning, they were planning to kick you later on and just made you do all the work and get some friend/guildie. To avoid getting reported and risk a ban, they would kick you before Maw.

If they were planning to kick you for the golem in good faith then it should be when the golem popped up, not that far ahead.

It could be a possibility, in which case it makes these people even more detestable.

I really do need to find a guild that runs fractals/other dungeons as much as I do so I can avoid situations like this.

Being stressed is never a good time to post. It was an honest call I believe, that you where not the one calling the golem is horrible. There is no way to prove you did not do it other than not being in the group when a golem was raised. Probably a lvl 28 fractal run with a pug is not the best way to relax anyway.

It wasn’t an honest call. There was a simple way to check this by having the individuals remaining in the party ping their gear to check for the runes that would summon a Golem, yet they refused to do so out of sheer stupidity, resulting in me 100% getting the shaft simply because I happen to be an Asura.

This is the equivalent of me becoming judge and jury, sentencing you to life in prison simply because you happened upon a dead body in a room with a bloody knife on the floor, without listening to your testimony or processing any evidence.

Their behavior is simply inexcusable.

And for me, a person who generally likes fractals, I tend to find them relaxing more or less until I get the absolute worst people like exampled above.

Probably my worst PuG story so far is having some apparent drug dealer on an AC run decide to AFK to make a sale at the part with defending the two machines in the lover’s crypt or whatever that is. Can’t remember. The Gravelings run. We wiped and instantly kicked him.

How absolutely splendid. He sounds like a troll to be honest, but you never know with some people.

I have no words to describe how crap that all sounds. You have all my sympathies and just imagine that I’ve bought you a nice cold beer (or whatever beverage you like).

A nice Wild Turkey shot would probably do sooooo much good right now. Lol.

Might want to edit out the name and shame bit…but on a serious note
. What server are you on?

I haven’t really directly referred to the moron’s name, so I don’t know if it’s a bad thing or not. If it turns out to be, I’ll just begrudgingly edit it out even though I sincerely want to expose this kitten to some sunlight so he can putrify and repulse everyone. I editted out one more letter to I guess keep it more vague. Bleh.

Sabelle.2159

I’m aggravated. I just got done spending 2 hours in a party to be kicked for no reason. I calmly whisper the party leader with:

“Why was I kicked?” Maybe it was a mistake.
“Because you’re using Elite Golem.”
" I have Time Warp on, we partied earlier in the day, are you serious? I would never use a Golem as an Elite for Fractals. That’s impossible."
“You’re the only Asura in the party; no one else can summon a golem”
“I have no idea—”

It struck me. The person who summoned the golem earlier in the fractals; but how did they do it? I thought to myself, knowing that I had no golem skills on, how could someone summon a golem? The only answer I could come up with was that someone was using armor that had full Runes of the Golemancer.

I’m highly upset, and I demanded that the party leader who set up the party to begin with check the party members’ gear, because I had not summoned a golem and it was unfair to kick me out after I had spent so much time getting to that point in the dungeon with them when I was 100% innocent.

He outright refuses to compromise, recruits another member and says

“It’s their call, they’re just going to keep kicking you”.
“Have them ping their gear to prove that I’m right. I am 100% certain someone in that party is using Rune of the Golemancer, and you’re simply not listening to me.”
“No.”

And with that, an entire team of idiots decides to ruin my already disastrous night. I got kicked out of a fractals for an elite skill I didn’t even use 2 hours into getting to the 3rd stage before Maw.

This is genuinely the straw that is about to break the camel’s back. If I don’t find a guild soon willing to do fractals with me, I don’t even know how I will keep interest in this game with stupid nonsense like this happening.

And so, there’s my story. Take it or leave it.

I’m pretty sure that some person will probably come unto this thread and say something like “It’s just a game, bleh bleh get over it” and trivialize everything I’ve explained, but it’s still my little sliver of what enjoyment I could have had today absolutely ruined by quite literally THE most moronic people I’ve met here.

Before I close this story, I’d like to thank “M_ndingo (Last name of a famous president/Last name of a famous African American Actor)” of some sort of Aegis tagged guild for being a completely reasonable person with the whole kicking me situation, for NOT making me incredibly angry with your stupid responses and your flippant attitude, and overall making my Guild Wars 2 such a positive experience today. Thank you, from the bottom of—It’s sarcasm. The last time I felt this relieved about having someone on my block list was, well, in my first thread of PuG Story Time.

TL;DR: Idiots made me cringe even more than my regular day had done, so I took to the forums for some therapeutic relief from the boiling annoyance I’ve experienced in Guild Wars 2.

For discussion’s sake; share your worst PuG stories with me, because my brain is simply about to melt and I need a good laugh to feel better after this horse crap.

This will be broken into two parts due to post restrictions and people who may or may not have ADD with reading something on the forums.

I previously made a thread called PuG Story Time: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/PuG-Story-Time-Some-people-can-t-learn/first#post2324398

I presumed in this above thread that I had seen the creme de la creme of just stupidness, but I was wrong. I would relive that Pug Story Time twice more if it meant that the party I was just in today would never show their faces in Fractals ever again. I’d relive it 3 times over if these people would simply delete their characters and quit GW2 entirely.

I need a good guild that likes to do different levels of fractals because I simply am at the level where I don’t even feel like I have fun with Fractals anymore, which is something I usually love playing.

I’ve tried to be positive, I’ve had good parties and I’ve had absolutely awful parties, but what I have just experienced takes the cake. The incident I am about to describe is the type of incident (at least, for me, personally) that for a split moment seriously makes you consider rage quitting.

Today, all I wanted was a simple 28 to finish my daily. That’s it.
I had a really, really bad day today for personal reasons and all I wanted to do was have a peaceful session of Guild Wars 2 closing my horrible night, getting my daily done.

And so, I found a party for 28, and I spent a considerable chunk of my night dedicated to it.

During our second fractal, we rolled the Asuran Fractal. This is where I noticed something strange with someone; someone had summoned a golem. I thought to look for any other Asuras in the party other than myself who may have accidentally popped a wrong elite skill, but couldn’t find any. I thought it was bizarre, but I never really considered it a big deal. In hindsight, I wish I had said something about how unusual it was as I probably would have avoided the unbelievably shafted/stupid situation I was about to find myself in.

The Asuran Fractal alone took most likely an hour because heading towards the Raving Asura, everyone wanted to just bypass the last 4 harpies instead of killing them, resulting in massive deaths for everyone trying to pass inwards. Eventually we made it through, and I was moderately annoyed with them for this. However, we’re almost out so I bite the bullet.

Then, Grawl came up. This is where it my hopefulness for a relaxing GW2 night turns into full blown just…agitation, annoyance and— You know what, it’s just disheartening at this point.

It was the third fractal, what was the worst that could happen? Initially we started fighting, a warrior decided to pull a grawl group too big and…everyone wipes. I’m the last to fend for myself while fighting off hoards of grawl. I eventually died due to being overwhelmed with my distortion, invulns, and evades down, and I’m growing more annoyed by their behavior, but I’ve gotten to the 3rd fractal so I’m nearly in the clear, No big deal, right?

As I am about to respawn, I find myself getting the loading screen for Lion’s Arch.

Excuse me? They must have meant to kick someone else, this has GOT to be a mistake…right?

Many jimmies have been rustled this day.

On a serious note, legendaries are all about preserverence and patience. You honestly don’t have to choose the RNG route.

I’ve known someone who has spent nearly 2x the precursor worth trying to mystic forge it. If you really struggle with it, you can always buy it.

You’re not indebted a precursor simply because you chose to gamble it.

I’m sure in the future there will be a more reliable method to acquiring precursors, but seeing as it’s gotta be right now, you have to deal with what options you have. Obviously the mystic forge isn’t working, which is why buying them seems more reliable.

When I asked “kitten” one of them claimed that “he’d changed his build lately and didn’t have any appropriate AR gear for it now”, when I told him “Well put it back on anyway it has to be better to have the wrong stats then no AR”, he told me “Oh i don’t keep that kitten, I vendor stuff I don’t need anymore”.

Lmao, with how time consuming it is to get ascended accessories like rings and earrings, there is no one in their right mindwho would simply “NPC” them. He’s either a really huge troll, or a complete idiot if he thinks anyone would buy that story.

This is a textbook example of a noob. A lot of people love to throw that word around, for people who lose in matches, those who are not OP, those who make slight mistakes, or those who have a different opinion, but those aren’t noobs at all. This is – flat out not listening and being straight up stupid. You should have kicked him out much earlier. He’s not your responsibility, you know owe him nothing. Honestly, I am most shocked by the shamelessness of it. No embarrassment? No shame!?

It’s true, I probably should have kicked him out earlier. At first I thought it was just him not knowing any better, but towards the end of the run I started to really think about how all of his faults were stemming because he refused to listen. I think he was actually convinced that he knew better than me and wanted to push his way around. It was painful, but I got through it.

As for shame, I don’t think he felt any. I think in the end he was convinced that I was being a jerk to him throughout the run, even though he was completely dead weight and wouldn’t listen to a word I said. I genuinely feel bad for whoever gets him in a party, he’s going to be kicked left and right until he learns how to listen to instruction.

Also, there is the whole “I never have to see you again anyways/you’re behind a computer screen” that keeps him from feeling ashamed. I think he’s just that stupid unfortunately.

…sorry for your bad experience. Thank you for giving back to the community by coaching people.

Someone can be so far gone in a fear state that they can’t think. That is sometimes indistinguishable from profound stupidity.

There’s an old story about a middle manager at Intel about a decade ago, who was giving a presentation to the CEO, was fixated on “getting the sale” on a specific point, was asked a simple and direct fact question by the CEO, and (instead of stopping to focus on and answer the question to the best of his ability) was insubordinate to the CEO by evading the question and directing the discussion back to the point he was trying to sell…twice. The sale he was so fixated on was irrelevant, because his career was over.

If this was someone for whom the Fractals were so scary, that he was incapable of rationally doing his homework, would lie not out of simple deception to get into a higher group but out of fear to get in any group at all, and having not done the homework was fixated on his perception about how a previous PUG did level 1…yes…I can see what you experienced.

Someone in that kind of fear state just needs to be kicked, they’re incapable of reason.

But then, Goldenwing could be right, this could be a griefer.

Or someone with a profound mental disability.

Or a five year old trying to pass as an adult.

Good luck, and please don’t let this one bad experience sour you on the GW2 community.

I don’t think he was too scared out of his mind to think rationally. We weren’t intimidating him into performance, we were politely asking him to cooperate, which he could not do because he had to nitpick everything or try to force his own way through to the detriment of everyone else in the party.

One of the reasons I NEVER do dungeons with PUGs. I’m in a great guild that will do a dungeon almost any time asked.

I’m in a relatively nice guild. It’s more for socializing rather than actual doing content together, and we only come together in a huge gathering once a week for guild event runs.

It’s nice because it’s a relaxing atmosphere, but I end up having to LFG my dungeon runs for the most part.

…and let’s not talk about another level 26 run last week where people just kept dying on the bosses and i couldn’t figure why. Turns out 3 of the players had no AR whatsoever, and had tried sneak in hoping nobody’d notice… well kitten, 1 leecher might get under the radar but 3 of you?

That’s… something that i really don’t understand. I mean, why? They don’t get any better drops (since they’re capped at their personal level), and only making it harder on themselves. And their personal level just couldn’t be anywhere close to 26, or they would have at least some AR already. Just getting to 20 guarantees one ring with a chance for more. And a single amulet is also not that hard.

That’s true. I think it’s more or less they don’t know about the dungeon enough to know about why they need to stack agony resistance before they go into higher levels. I always end up doing research or asking for information before I do dungeons I’m unfamiliar with so I don’t encumber the team who inherits me on their first run, and I wish more people would do this to a certain extent.

If I absolutely have to go into an unfamiliar territory completely blind, I’ll let them know before they start that I am 100% fledgling to the dungeon so they can decide whether they have enough time to show me the ropes or not.

Youtubing dungeons I didn’t know about also helped me.

I’ve had similar experiences with the Aetherblade dungeon so i know how you feel OP. Too many people not listening what to do. Too many people not responding when being asked “Does anyone not know how to do this boss fight?” When they die, they then say “woah, what do we do here?” Too many people rage quitting, because they’re having a tough time in the dungeon, instead of asking for tips or just don’t want to learn how to play.

And people wonder why on GW2LFG, groups are only looking for experienced players? Hmm i wonder why.

Some people are content staying willfully ignorant. They have to learn the hard way.

You can try and pull an ostrich to a lake to drink but if they’re simply content with sticking their head in the sand, there really can’t be anything done for them, and like me, they’re probably frustrated with people not listening.

It’s one thing to hit a language barrier, because that’s not controllable, but to have someone completely ignore you—Well, It whittles down your patience.

Groups kicking from fractals

I was running with my friend the other day, and some pugs. They decided to kick him. Little did they know, he was the instance starter sweet, sweet vengeance when they found themselves booted from the dungeon. That’s what they get for being a jerk.

Oh yea that happened to a CoF group I ran a couple weeks back. Everyone pretty much ignored me and i just went ahead and started the dungeon. Final boss was almost down and I got kicked.

There should be checkpoint that should disable kicking. Really unfair to kick someone after working so hard in fractals and getting nothing.

Okay, firstly, and I can’t say every experience is going to be like this, but most of the time if someone is getting kicked out, it’s their own fault.

Not pulling your own weight? Not being cooperative after repeated attempts to appeal to you? You earn a kick then. That’s not to say that there aren’t jerks out there who will do it just because they’re wanting to be a jerk about something, but that’s far and inbetween.

And there is nothing wrong with the current kick system.

Even if the vote was brought up to three votes before a kick, then people would still cry and say things like “Oh, but all it takes is a premade of 3 people to kick me out, and it’s not fair I’m being booted.”

We finally get to Maw. We run through to the back to kill the tentacle.

“Why do we have to run behind to get the tentacles?”
“Because it’s easier” patience nearly gone
“But why?”
“Because unless you want to face check a bunch of jellyfish for no reason, come to the back and range the tentacle”
“Last time I did it, we—”
“Okay, I understand you are new to the dungeon. You’ve clearly showed me you’re new by how many mistakes you are clearly making. But I want you to stop asking questions like this right now because stopping to continuously explain to you things that should be incredibly transparent has made this dungeon way longer than it needed to be. You don’t need to continously ask, just follow what we’re saying. PLEASE for the love of all that is holy and sacred on this god-given earth, please just follow.”

As we get unto maw, I explain that I called target on Jade Maw and the process about picking up the crystals and pressing T to throw the crystals at the boss while killing the jade veterans for crystals, and no sooner that I get done explaining this, Kevlar begins to target the reflection crystals instead of keeping the target on Maw, making it harder for others in the group who are new to understand what I am trying to teach them. They begin to die.

Now I’m just completely unnerved.

“Kevlar, what in the hell are you doing?”
“I’m calling targets on the crystals.”
“Please…please Kevlar. Just…no more. Just keep the target on Jade Maw.”
“But why? Last run I—”
“I…I’m nearly at a loss for words. I genuinely and sincerely do not care about your last run, if there even WAS a last run for you which I highly doubt as you’ve displayed next to no experience in this run. I am trying to teach you a better way to do things, and you have continuously usurped not only me, but have continually made it difficult for others to learn here to. I cannot explain to you any more. Just do it. I don’t care if you want to stop the run for another 10 minutes to ask me WHY, I’m not going to deal with it. Just turn off your brain, and follow me. Don’t ask anymore. "

He continues to target the crystals.

I can’t take it anymore. He’s killing everyone else who’s new in here, and has been the biggest pain in the rear I’ve ever experienced in a dungeon.

We kicked him out.

Shortly after, with a sense of remorse, I realize I didn’t feel right doing that to this person, even though he clearly suffered from some sort of Stupidity disorder. I get him back into the party. He obviously kept targetting the crystals, and I secretly prayed to a higher power that Maw would smite Kevlar into a pile of dust in a timely fashion before I kick him out again.

We got through it, and I thank everyone for their hard work and effort.

“Thank you guys for everything, good run, and Kevlar, please learn to listen. You held us back a lot with the constant resistance.”

The two others said their customary thanks for the run and left, with the exception of one; Can you guess who?

Kevlar. Good Ol’ Kevlar.

“I’ve got screenshots of all of this. I’m wondering if I should report you guys for being kittens and kicking me.”
“Listen, I didn’t say anything terrible to you during this entire run. If you want to report me, go ahead. I kicked you not because you’re inexperienced, but because you were fighting everything I said every step of this run. You don’t listen, you kept getting others killed, and not even a minute ago, you nearly caused everyone to wipe. Why? Because you cannot possibly listen. I invited you back here ONLY out of consideration for your feelings alone so you could get credit. That was IT. I hope you learned this run.”
“F*** you, b****”

and leaves.

And so, let this be the day that I declare this is the LAST time, the LAST time I try to teach pugs, ever again.
Thank you, Kevlar.

You know how everyone complains about people having no patience, and how they are jerks and/or Elitist?
Look no further than to the Kevlars who create them.

I’m sure Kevlar learned absolutely nothing due to his lack of cooperation, and will continue to plague other fractals runs until the time he quits because trying to teach a newbie is possible, but teaching an idiot is next to impossible.

I thought I would be nice to take the time out to teach new members runs they don’t understand, but I simply refuse to anymore. I will not indulge another Kevlar during my enjoyment in this game.

I’m pretty sure Kevlar will try to report me, because he’s just that much of a moron.

This will probably be broken into two parts because of length and forums having short attention span probably

I don’t mind people who are new to my fractal runs. We all have to start somewhere, and if I can help showing someone the ropes, I generally don’t mind doing that; I have patience— to an extent.

Today was the day I reached beyond my threshold to try and help a disastrous run in Fractals 10. I was wanting a quick and easy run, but upon finding out that there were some new members to certain fractals like collosus, I was instructing them on methods of completion.

Then, there was this one person. I won’t give out his name, but let’s say his moniker rhymed with the material from bulletproof vests, Kevlar. For the sake of telling the story, I will be naming him “Kevlar” but that is not his actual name. Back to the tale, every step of the way, he would ask “why can’t we do it this way, I did it this way last time.” “why this” “why that” why why why why why why why.

We move unto the Asuran stage, where me and one other person would try and handle the crystals while explaining to them how it needed to be done. All the new members needed to do was listen to how it was done, and then DPS. Previous to us grabbing the crystals we had told everyone to wait outside. As we’re gathering them, in comes good ol’ Kevlar to aggro the boss killing us both in the process before we could get the crystals.
“Why did I have to stay outside? Can’t I come in”
“…Didn’t we tell you we had to gather the crystals before you guys come in because each crystal needs to go into the terminals to turn the fan on or we all die?”
“Why do you need the crystals to turn on the fan?”
“…”

We somehow manage to get through after a less-than-clean attempt. Kevlar would forget to turn on the fan repeatedly. I would have to blink my way to the fan while handling crystals and resing in order to get Old Tom done.

We move unto the next fractal, and I hoped somewhere it would be an easy one.

Collosus. My heart sunk a little because teaching relatively new players with no experience this particular fractal is quite difficult, but I took on the task anyways with another experienced player in the party helping me.

“Why do we need the hammer?”
“Because we need to break the seals”

He promptly grabs the hammer and runs off with it not even knowing it’s purpose or how to handle the responsibility, stacks up to 40 and dies as I’m telling him to come back with it so I can explain the responsibility of seal breaking with the hammer. I’m beginning to get annoyed with teaching this person how to do this properly because he is continuously resistant to everything we’ve said, and he’s holding back the other people who need to learn. We get to the head phase of the boss where I explain to him the easy way to do this, where I hear…

“Why do we need to do it this way?” as he’s smacking both of the monsters with a hammer about to kill both on one side.
“Stop attacking for a moment”
“why”
“Because if you kill both, it spawns a lot and we’ll wipe. Leave one please.”
“But last time, I—”
“I don’t care what you did last time. This is easier. Please do it this way so that you save yourself trouble in future runs”

We get through colossus somehow, even though he kept taking the hammer and not knowing what to do with it, dragging the run on even longer.

I’m gritting my teeth in aggravation at this point. The pointless questions, the lack of cooperation, the continuous mistakes due to lack of listening, Kevlar has really pushed me and my other experienced teammate to the bounds of patience.

guardian doens t have way to pull stuff and stop stuff withot waiting?

If you’re truly comparing the GS pull to this, I have no words. They aren’t even comparable.

I’m a mesmer, and even I can admit that the curtain nerf was actually more fair to other classes for player vs player purposes. Most insta-curtains were able to throw a person/a large group of people before they could even respond.

The 1 second CD is fine. I don’t mind taking that hit, I barely feel it during my usage of curtain.

Sabelle.2159

This is a ridiculous complaint. I have a mesmer and I use the focus with him and I’m 100% fine with this, no other class has such a powerful CC skill that can be used instantly to pull multiple targets.

Don’t pretend like this is the mesmer’s only CC skill either saying that the mesmer is the only class that has to announce 1 second before they use a CC skill, mesmers have dozens of instant CC skills.

@ Sabelle; that’s what he’s complaining about the swiftness boon not stacking when you already have swiftness.

I must have misunderstood the context of his post, my mistake. Regardless, I 100% agree with you, this is a pointless complaint.

lovely add on for some skills, however, totally ruins the skill for others. PLEASE PUT AN OPTION TO ENABLE IT OR NOT. something like fast autoground target single click.

Into the Void: This skill now has a 1-second recharge before it can be used after placing Temporal Curtain.

Honestly, speaking as a mesmer, the temporal curtain nerf is barely anything dramatic to complain about.

The whole point of the nerf is so we can’t insta pull people without them having an opportunity to avoid the void.

If you’re really having such a big problem with this change, you’re probably not using your curtain efficiently to begin with.

Alrighty thanks for the quick reply and hmm i have always liked the Mesmer but im probably not the type thats great with it to know how to play it lol and Guardian I have played before and kind of liked the concept of it but then again I didnt lol

Well, there are also Rangers. They have a few bunker builds that allow them to survive/regen a lot of damage I believe. I’d definitely look into one of those if you want something tough, but with more or less decent combat ability.

I don’t get the last one. Take note, the fact that I don’t get it probably means you don’t want me on your team.

The joke is that PUGs are generally kitten and fall apart when the wrong people are put together, causing ad hominem en masse. Stereotypically, the person would imagine their teammates as being bad PUG’ers but everyone in the party is thinking the same thing.

Thanks, the puuubb thing kind of through me off and the “kitten” “kitten ” guy. I thought they were referencing him some how.

Edit: I guess the words from the first 3 frames are bad for some reason due to the “kitten” in my post.

Yeah, I had to edit the 2nd comic, because it had less than friendly language. Mods would have flagged it.

Star Wars Galaxies made something decent out of itself?

Huh, who would have thought

Hahaha, I know what you mean. More or less though, I think the general example for it is how easily people criticize an MMO to death during its lifespan, but then praise it later when it’s gone.

I have been away for a few months and am wondering what class is good for some nice damage and good survivability. Am wanting to start fresh and wipe my characters i have from months ago so any tips would be great also not really a supporter type person more like high dmg but being able to keep myself alive without having to die over and over.

Guardian. Also, Mesmer has crazy survivability if you practice enough.

It’s so true how people will complain about a particular MMO into the ground, but when it dies or they move on to another MMO, they’ll invoke the one they were ripping on in later conversations like it was the best thing since sliced bread to tear apart their current.

I have to say, I bought the consortium sickle and I absolutely adore it!

I came back to the game about a month ago, but it seems I was a little late for a Molten Alliance Event where people were able to buy a special pickaxe variation.

I am wondering, will the MA Pickaxe ever return? If so, when do you think it will return?

I hope it’s soon, I’d love to collect these unlimited harvesting tools as a complete set! They look wonderful!

WTB New Premium Hair Colors

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sabelle.2159

I’d welcome new colors as well.

Greens that have more of a blue/yellow balance, perhaps more of a yellow base rather than an aqua tint. (Although I do enjoy that color, it works well with both the teals/spruces in the game as well as dark blue dyes). There does seem to be a gap missing in those greens that blend better with the yellow end of the spectrum (outside of the Sylvari colors.)

And several new shades of pink – not pale almost non-existent, or neon purple but more along the lines of cotton candy, strawberry and raspberry. A range of medium to dark pink hair.

And I agree with the red norn hair comment. I remember providing feedback on that during beta.

PS: I’d also love to see more of the hairs styles shared across the different races. If it’s possible to do that without breaking race immersion. (e.g. perhaps some of the Human hair styles avail for Norn and Asura and a little vice versa.) I’d love to see an Asura with a high style ponytail.

And I suspect this thread needs to be in the suggestion forum.

Yeah, that would be awesome to see more hairstyles to.

They’d have to still be culturally tied though as you said. I think an asura with too long of hair would simply look odd.

There are colours in the kits that are only available through the kits- I have a pretty cool dark blue on my Sylvari and I have seen some purples, turquoise etc around.
Now new Styles I could totally get behind- I would pay anything for really red Norn dreads on my human

I’m aware of this.

I mean in the sense that there are different colors. The special colors in the stylist kit for purples are a bit too “neon” for my liking, and there is an absence of greens available for hair colors. Closest thing to getting green is an aqua turquoise.

It would still be awesome to see more diversity in these particular pallets.

I’m serious. I will throw my money at the screen for a few new hair colors in my stylist kits.

I would love some green selections for hairs, or maybe even some deep purples/indigo hair styles. It would be amazing to see some variants of pink as well.

What colors do you want for hair that aren’t available, people? Let your cries be heard.

Edit: I’m already aware of the current colors specific to the stylist kits, I’m talking about a more diverse pallet of purples with some greens to choose from. Some of the colors, while nice, are too “neon” for my liking personally. It would be nice to see deeper colors of green and purple. It’d also be nice to see some variants of pink available.

Dragon Needler...why is it so white? :(

As the title says, I was soooooooo excited for a nice deep green shortbow skin for my ranger because it’d go perfectly with my color scheme. I finally got a ticket for a dragon jade weapon, and when I went to go see the needler…

It’s got clumps of white everywhere? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy did you do this to me?

The hornbow looks infinitely cooler than this thing because it doesn’t have a majority of white parts splotched all over it.

Anyone else feel the same way? I’m very dissapointed.

I would really like this in the black lion trading post somewhere in the future where we can look up these items by category.

I know right now that we don’t have a lot of available options for backpieces to purchase from the BLTC, but I know we have a variety of skins that deserve a bit of categorizing.

So that's where all the (Kitten)s in GW2 are.

OP, you are either extremely unlucky or you kitten ed them off somehow. I crafted my mesmer almost to 80 then watched 1 short video showing the run. I wasn’t experienced at all but I did just fine and haven’t had a problem before. Just don’t slow down the run.

I was doing fine. I curtained in the appropriate spots, I waved at the first boss, and I stayed at the desp spot and greatsworded acolytes from a far. They screwed up repeatedly and pinned it on me.

Sorry you met some unpleasant people, but generalizations and stereotyping about an entire subset of players won’t make you feel better and only serves to inflame the community through prejudice and stereotyping.

(And, no, I have never done a speed run through CoF1.)

Nah, I am not stereotyping that every single person who speeds CoF is like this. I’m just saying it seems like a lot of players act like CoF is going to kill their parents. I have been in some pleasant parties that were very nice and respected my efforts.

I’ve had some pretty fast, pretty smooth runs with some…but it’s the ones that are negative that just make you sour.
