We have received reports of this issue and have been unsuccessful in debugging it. I’ve been on other threads and working with CS to gather as much information as possible so that we can try to get it to reproduce. I’ll add Nova’s resolution to those conversations to see if it helps.

I came here to say what Inculpatus cedo stated, I’ve quoted that text. There is no known current billing platform issues and when there isn’t a known global issue that we’ve communicated, then billing questions are typically best addressed by CS.

A couple days ago I opened a black lion chest and it gave me Braham’s Woolfblood Outfit. The thing is, I already owned it since I purchased it from the gem shop. To my understanding I should have received a couple keys as compensation if it tries to give me something like that that I already owned.

Do note: I did contact customer support and they did mail me the 2 keys that I was suppose to get.

The bug here is the keys weren’t granted automatically when the chest tried to award me a bound-when-acquired wardrobe item I already owned

The other problem is, the black lion chest preview window still shows the outfit as a possible item. Which means, if I open more chests there’s a chance the game will bug out again and give me the outfit again. IMO, wardrobe unlocks in black lion chests that are bound when you acquire them should be automatically removed as possible rewards, to avoid bugs like this.

We had tested the Braham Outfit/BLC flow that you mention before release and did not have that issue. Additionally, a team member had done the same behavior with the release that you mentioned (bought outfit from gem store, received as a BLC reward) and she received the keys as we’d expect. Is there anything else that was going on at that time that stood out to you, or any additional details. At this point we have been unable to reproduce that issue and are unable to provide a resolution until the issue can be found.

The Black Lion Chest Preview is intended to show what is available in the chest. It doesn’t update for your personal account, so I would expect for you to still be able to see the outfit. As mentioned above, the key replacement should apply if you receive the outfit from the chest again and you may have had a separate thing happen when you first experienced an issue.

Hi there!

It is expected that the Bitterfrost Vantage Point item behaves like the wardrobe unlock (e.g. Phantom Glider) where it would reward you two keys if you had already received that item from the chest.

Ashantara, may I please get your CS ticket ID from you? I’d like to see the repro information you’ve provided because internal testing does not have the same result you’ve mentioned above.

Others are also encouraged to post any potential tips to aid in a test reproduction of this issue.

Hi! We’re investigating this issue. While the error isn’t helpful, it does look like you can proceed by filling out any of the red boxes. Helpful error isn’t being helpful

We’re happy with the results of the new build and have not been receiving new crash reports from it. For those asking, the Ghostly Outfit has been enabled in the Gem Store again. Thanks for your understanding!

I’m here to add more information on this issue. We believe we have identified what caused the outfit to crash and the solution. Internal testing has been successful against this fix as well.

There is a new game build that just became available that has this change in it and we have people here ready to test it. From internal tests I’m expecting this new build to resolve the cases relating to the animation graphic setting being on low. This is the cases where the outfit was worn and the character crashed and cannot get back into the game, crashing when you see someone else wearing it, and we’ve enabled the ability to use the outfit from your inventory again.

While in the old build the above issues will still be present so I do recommend taking the new build asap if this specific issue has been affecting your gameplay today.

That does not seem to fit my issue. I have graphic animations on high. My crashes started happening with everyone else so I figured it had to do with the outfit but maybe not. Never had issue like this before.

- Or was someone else that you saw wearing it?
- Or are you stuck crashing on character create after equipping the outfit?

Is this going to be fixed some time today, is what I would like to know. Though I suppose if it’s under investigation, I probably have as much knowledge of when it will be resolved as those who are actually doing the work.

Would appreciate a post here when things are fixed, though. I don’t intend on logging in again until it’s figured out because I’ve crashed at least 5 times now and it’s not worth the frustration.

Have you tried the workaround above that Gaile posted? I’m interested in knowing if it helps your case. I imagine you are getting in game (past character select) before crashing?

Unfortunately, our internal tests are showing that it is most likely tied to the helm. So it is possible that you may be crashing other people’s clients that see you while they have low animation settings. None of this is official yet since we’re still investigating but since you asked…

I’ll share your feedback on the helm with its creators

Yes, from what we know, if your graphic animation setting is on ‘low’ and a player in the outfit showing the helm renders on your client screen, or you preview the outfit, then your client can crash too. Gaile has a workaround post above that you can try.

The Ring of Fire content update is going to bring an update to Revive Orbs as well and I’m here to give you a sneak peek into the changes that you can expect. We’ve heard your feedback on the current design of Revive Orb and Revive Sickness: health comes back too low, it applies cripple to you, and its cumbersome to use.
 
The new Revive Orb functionality is intended to address some of these concerns head on while keeping the item well balanced with the gameplay.
 
• Revive Sickness has been updated to be more in line with other forms of revival. The orb will return you to 50% of your health pool instead of previous 1 health point.  You no longer are crippled but are locked in combat state for 60 seconds and cannot use another orb while under Revive Sickness.
• When defeated, if you have an orb in inventory, you will receive a UI option to ‘Consume a Revive Orb’ alongside the usual “Return to Waypoint” option.
• We’ve replaced the Ghostly Caretaker with an orb vortex that circles above your body and fills in for the 10 seconds it takes for the revival to complete.
  
All previous existing Revive Orbs will automatically be updated to reflect these changes. This item remains unavailable in WvW, PvP, and Raids content. Whether you use it in Central Tyria, Heart of Maguuma, or even Ember Bay, we hope you will be pleased with the new Revive Orb.

Aestheticians allow players to preview new hairstyles, faces, and other appearance details without needing to own a Total Makeover Kit. In order to confirm any changes, players must have a Total Makeover Kit in their inventory.

I am having issues with getting the BLTC/Gem Store to load up properly. I start up the GS and times out, I restart and repeats again. The image shows as far as i can get.

Just glancing at your screenshot I would expect you to have a billing country populated in that bottom left field automatically. Maybe try manually setting one by clicking that text box that says ‘billing country’ If that doesn’t work contacting customer support is the best for personal billing issues.

We are aware that players are receiving blank in-game mail messages from the Black Lion Trading Company. This is related to updating your account to give it access to Living World Season 3: Episode 1 content. The unlock will take place for all players who log in any time between the episode’s initial release (today for many of us) and the release of the next episode. All players who log in during that time will receive the in-game mail notification and the episode will be unlocked on the account. I do want to take this opportunity to remind you that you need to own Heart of Thorns to play the Out of the Shadows content. If you do not currently own Heart of Thorns, if you log in while Episode 1 is live that content will be available to you if you acquire HoT in the future.

Hi all-

We’re running some tests on the Black Lion Trading Post to try to reduce the number of error messages that a player may receive when they attempt to sell a large number of items in a short period of time. As we make adjustments to find a good balance you may see fluctuations in the frequency of error messages, but the message frequency will decrease rather than increase.

Just a suggestion but may be worth checking with your guild member that they don’t have 10 or more emails sitting in their ingame mailbox, if so tell them to delete a few and your mails should start to show up in the order sent.

This is an old email limit issue that new players may not have known about, hope this helps while waiting on support to respond. Emails over the 10 limit are stacked by the server.

Thank you for taking the time to submit this issue. It’s being looked into as I type this message and is being treated as a high priority.

Khani is correct that when I moved the shared inventory slot back to the top of my inventory bags, I no longer experience a client crash when interacting with the bank storage’s. Once I was done with the bank, I moved my shared inventory slots back to the bottom and was fine. I hope this helps you while we work on getting a fix out.

I’d like to reply to those who are saying that making this set account-bound is “a money grab.” Please keep in mind that we make the same amount of revenue for each BLC weapon skin that enters the game through MTX regardless of whether or not that weapon skin is later resold on the trading post.

The currency exchange is a player driven market and as the gem-to-gold exchange rate has increased, the trading post value of BLC weapon skins hasn’t kept pace. That leads to the common complaint that it feels bad to buy Black Lion chests for gems, because it seems as if they’re full of things that you could have bought more cheaply by converting your gems to gold instead. It’s not our goal to make you feel like a chump for buying chests. After all, by buying chests, you’re supporting the creation of the content that everyone plays. So it’s nice for there to be account-bound things in the chests in addition to the other tradeable items. With a lot of the chest contents, it’s not possible for them to be account-bound, because for a lot of things you’d be screwed if you got dupes and couldn’t off-load them to friends or onto the Trading Post. By putting the skins on the Black Lion Weapon Specialists we support those who have stored tickets and still have a combination of account-bound and non-account-bound items in the chest, as we did before today’s release.

This set of purely cosmetic skins still can ultimately be acquired either by purchasing them or by earning gold in the game and trading it for gems. If you like getting skins from the chests that can’t be obtained more cheaply through the trading post, use your claim tickets on these weapons. Or if you prefer tradeable skins, use your claim tickets for the other weapon sets, or acquire those weapon sets by trading for them with other players who bought them with claim tickets.

We on the dev team want to thank you again for taking the time to share your views with us.

Reading this thread, we understand your questions and want to share a little information: This set is designed to be a special, exclusive set and therefore it’s a little different than most. There are a couple of other interesting factors that you’ll want to know: The set is available for one ticket. It will remain priced at one ticket into the future, so someone who wants it now doesn’t need to be concerned about it becoming unavailable or about it rising in price in the future. Other sets currently available are not account bound, such as the Cavalier Weapon Set which was recently released at a price of 1 Black Lion Claim Ticket and remains at that price now. In addition, we do intend to continue to offer tradeable sets in the future. If you’d like a preview of the new set, go to your bank wardrobe and filter for “Privateer.” We hope this answers your questions, and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Those in this thread should all be cleared of this issue.

Others that happen across this thread and are experiencing a similar issue, please try to close the client for at least ten minutes. That action should also resolve a stuck match.
