Game World: Sorrows Furnace, NA
Description: Skill delays (lags between 3-10 seconds), pings of 300+ or even returning with “cannot ping” error, disconnects a minute or so after first experiencing the skill lag.
Already filed the requisite bug report in-game, but it feels like a futile gesture.
Almost a year after, this “bug” is still happening.
Screenshot taken right after a successful wurm kill.
What’s worse it’s its the 4th time this has happened for me on this week alone. Last week, I did not get the golden mini chest 2 times out of all the runs I did (as part of TTS). I’ve been reporting this through the in-game bug reporting tool, but there has been no progress at this AT ALL.
Can we have an official word on this from the developers? This is really upsetting and disheartening. I’m really not keen on continuing on going after this boss if we’re not even getting the proper rewards. And as you can see in the screenshot’s chat, I’m not alone in this.
Removing stability from the juggernaught trait has to be one of the worst ideas around, it was perfectly balanced by the fact YOU BECAME practically immobile, so sure you could stay in FT kit, but you won’t get anywhere fast (except with rocket boots now, which thematically is perfect)
Anet, give us back the TRUE juggernaut!
I really don’t understand why it was removed in the first place.
I’m experiencing this as well . When your client crashes, did the error message say Error Code=63:1001:9007:161:101?
Since Living Story Season 2, I’ve been experiencing this error frequently, at least once a day. I’ve already submitted a ticket, and have been in email contact with Anet’s CS, but this has yet to be resolved. At first I’ve thought that this is some sort of network bottleneck or bandwidth throttling or something like that sort of issue, but just now I’ve been catching up on the Living Story, and I’ve been hit with this error in the instances that the LS is being done, recently in the Plan of Attack final part in Baradin’s Vault.
What’s really frustrating is that it feels like Anet’s tech support is giving me the runaround since their suggested solutions are all band-aid fixes I’ve already tried before submitting at ticket. And yet in all the email replies they’ve given me, none of them actually explain what Error 63 is, since it’s not in the list of common error messages that is in the wiki.
And yes, “GW2 Game Bugs forum not your personal tech support page”, yadda, yadda…. I know, I’m only asking why this is happening.
What is Error 63? I want to know.
Any official explanation on what this code means? It is very frustrating to get this while map commanding. I stay connected to Teamspeak and websites that I have opened, only GW2 kicks me from game.
Could this be somehow related? I’ve been frequently receiving the error code 63:1001:9007:161:101 ever since the Living Story Season 2 patch, and the only thing I can think of is that I had Overwolf and Teamspeak running along with GW2. I’ve never gotten the error if I don’t have TS on. As you can see, this is be a big problem when I’m running guild missions, world bosses and WvW.
Server Lag and Disconnects! DDoS? [merged]
in Account & Technical Support

It’s still happening right now. World events are unplayable from all the lag and disconnections.
I just noticed yesterday that the first two kills in WvW did not count towards the daily (kill 10 invaders). I even stomped the second after noticing the first didn’t register just to make sure, but it didn’t register either. After those two, I got my 10 kills though, but I was wondering if maybe this is somehow related.
I noticed this too; none of the kills I’ve made in WvW counted in the daily when I haven’t received it yet. I got around it by doing some other dailies, then when I did receive the daily chest, the counter for player kills started moving again when I went back to WvW.
Another, more serious bug, is that I haven’t received any reward chests for doing Great Jungle Wurm boss event for close to a week already , now that I’ve managed to fix my connection issues with the game to actually be able to do events now.
Does the in-game bug report system even do anything?
Bumping this thread as a request for updates on this issue. What’s worse is that recently attendance numbers of players wanting to attempt a successful Triple Threat event completion are dropping because of all the bugs.
Hi all,
We understand the frustration over having to wait to receive your rewards, and we appreciate your patience. The issue was very complex, and we needed to take the appropriate amount of time to sort it all out, and ensure a proper solution. We anticipate being able to provide another update with an ETA for the fix, soon.
Thank you.
Much better response than the previous season’s fiasco, I guess.
I do hope the issues will be sorted out before Season 3.
It’s been weeks now, still haven’t gotten a single Wurm’s Golden Chest bonus for successful wurm kills with TTS on the 8PM/ 2000h PST spawn time. To any devs reading this: What am I supposed to do for us affected to get compensation for this, or at least get this fixed? Other participants have also reported not receiving the chest, so I know I’m not alone in this.
Sorrows Furnace here, already got the meta achievement but still no WvW rewards either.
No chest here, even though I’ve completed my meta already. Server (SF) finished 2nd according to the battle historian, but the achievement says we’re at 4th place (same as 1st season). Incidentally, I haven’t received the chest for the first season WvW as well, and am still waiting for any updates on that issue.
I haven’t heard much issue with the Great Jungle Wurm Chest. That chest only appears on land once per day between daily resets, much like the Karka Queen’s chest.
In my case, it was the Wurm’s Golden Chest that I don’t receive at all. I did get to portal and open the big wurm chest that’s account bound, but I don’t get any other bonus chests, which happened again earlier (the latest 02:00 spawn).

Thanks guys for following up on this. If you have any screenshots or video links related to this bug, please post it up under this thread. I did not manage to capture it as it caught all of us off-guard.
My apologies, I didn’t make a screenshot at the time it happened. I did send a bug report using the in-game support, but I’m not very hopeful it’ll go anywhere, considering the lack of CS Anet has with this game.
It was only when I noticed other players in-game were experiencing the same problem did I realize this was a bug and not a loot nerf, and a serious one.
This is also a WvW problem, and it would be great of Anet can do something about this.
My sympathies to everybody who has this bug.
I was fortunate enough to get my achievements before the Megaserver was introduced, but I know how tough the Wurm is to take down, so not being able to get your achievement after all that effort has to be pretty disheartening.
What’s even worse is that other bugs are cropping up with the world event.

I hope Anet’s devs would look into this soon.
This has been happening to me since the latest patch, and I’ve already reported this using the in-game bug report system. Was actually confused when it happened at first and assumed it was a stealth nerf to the loot like what they did to Karka Queen. It was only after other players mentioned this happening to them did I realize this was another bug.
I was also present at both attempts (Guardian on the first, Warrior on the second, both at Crimson), and I’ve personally witnessed the downscaling happening on both times at >2 minutes on the kill timer. The problem with the bug is that it throws off the painstaking coordination that all 100+ players (insert herding cats analogy here) have to work on to get to the point of a possible kill, which results in failure.
I’ve sent a bug report through the in-game reporting system, and I do hope Anet’s GW2 tech support can look into this soon.
Well its seems the solution is to just make certain armors salvageable now. There is no need to bring back the old mechanic for such a minor issue
Or make Upgrade Extrator CHEAP, and able to extract everything of every armor/weapon in the game, whatever the method you used to get it.
Dropping the prices of the extractor would be the best compromise.
Of course Anet could just turn this around and make a reusable “perma-extractor” (only costs 1 silver!) for a ridiculous amount of gems (say, 2000)…
I’m having the same problem since patch. Any world bosses are literally unplayable, before the patch I never had this problem. I’m also getting disconnected frequently
This describes my problem as well. Haven’t successfully done ANY world bosses at all, since I would always crash during the event, then would usually be shunted to a different server due to megaserver if I can get back in.
I don’t have a GW1 account
Oceanic
Daily, both NA prime times and Oceanic prime times
The errors started happening after the March 18 patch, and has yet to be resolved.
Already sent a ticket and did what the tech requested in the email, including log of the network diagnostics and the log generated by Hijackthis. (By the way, assuming that I have possibly malicious software interfering with the client is downright insulting and only shows a lack of competence. Just saying.)
I’ve posted about this before, and I’ve even filed a ticket back then, yet it’s still not resolved yet.
Right now, I couldn’t to world boss events, dungeons, WvW, sPvP and even crafting big amounts of materials without randomly disconnecting. Opening the TP also gives me a random chance of disconnecting.
What’s left to do in this game if I can’t do anything without disconnections?

Bad doesn’t even begin to describe this.
Just wondering: isn’t there a way to transfer to a different route than alter.net or level3.net? They seem to be the weakest links right now and should be looked into.
Also, this isn’t a recent development: This happened to me last Wintersday, and I’ve actually gotten in touch with Verizon tech support people regarding this issue. Unfortunately, according to them they can’t really do anything with it since the connection has left their servers when the packet losses begin.
I’m not even going to pretend to be an expert on this (my background is on programming, not networking), but there really is a serious hardware issue sonewhere there.
I’m having the same issue for over a month now, same error code and everything. Really frustrating that I can’t do any guild missions, dungeons, or even world events with friends when I keep getting disconnected.
Already sent a ticket, but the automated response I received for it is not encouraging.
Still happening for me here. Game is downright unplayable right now.
Isn’t there any other servers to route traffic through that isn’t level3 or alter.net? Both are the weakest link to connectivity, and if it can’t be repaired would it be possible to reroute the connection elsewhere?
same here, Horrible lag and skill Delays…. I really hope they’re doing something about this
Seconding this. It’s really becoming aggravating when this is happening only to GW2 and every other program I’ve tried running has no issues.
It’s not Nvidia, I have a Radeon video card and am still experiencing crashes and events with lots of players around. It’s is very frustrating.
I feel like they messed up with the Explosives and Firearms GM traits. Swapping Synaptic Overload and Bunker Down places makes more sense.
Here’s a screenshot of the error message I’m constantly receiving. Other errors that crop up during gameplay (such as it is) include disappearing guilds, unable to open the TP, and client freezes before disconnecting during big PvE events, and in the middle of sPvP matches.
(edited by Skribulous.3521)
I am currently experiencing the same problem (Oceanic player playing in NA). It started right after the latest bugfix patch http://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-March-18-2014/3781078
I also point out that this had also happened before last December, but went away after the patch month later. Now it’s back and it’s gotten to the point that the game is downright unplayable again. I’ve already done -repair and -verify on the client as well as other fixes (such as deleting the local.dat file, checking my ISP for network problems, and checking my computer for any issues, since like I said, I experienced this before), but none worked.

In attempting to break the zerg, they broke the event instead.
Why can’t Anet just roll back to how it worked 2 days ago, then work on fixing what went wrong from there? Feels like any attempt of fixing bugs just ended up introducing new bugs and/or breaking what doesn’t need fixing in the first place.

Best tactic is wait for a fix, since it’s still bugged.

So are we getting any compensation for this? It feels more like work since we’re the ones testing stuff and reporting the bugs, not playing a game.

Did 4 runs earlier. Killed all 3 knights in all of the runs, and with gold credit. Didn’t get any loot or cores even with a full party.
This is disappointing.

I am okay with this.
Did 4 runs (all 3 knights in a run), 2 before the hotfix, and 2 after. Didn’t get any loot or cores even when I got gold credit for each kill. What’s up with that?
Were there any optimizations for AMD CPUs?
Theoretically everyone should see an improvement.
Nope, no change. Still at 20 FPS on average like before. This is with an i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, running Windows 7 64-bit. Could be because I haven’t swapped the HD for an SSD, which I’ll probably have to look into soon.
Disconnects and "Incorrect Password" Message [merged]

i am haveing problems with the game since xmas,i get dc’s every hour or so and get completely kicked from the game .is there a server problem ? .
all my other intrnet connections are ok ,it only happens with gw2.
I’ve been having this problem as well, mine is more gradual rather than constant. The intermittent disconnections started after the December 23rd patch, and while at first only happens during big events (like the Tequatl kill events), it has recently become progressively worse to the point that today I cannot even stay on GW2 without disconnecting after around 15 minutes or so.
That’s exactly the problem I’ve been having for weeks now. This has been happening since that December 23rd patch. Frequently the game would drop from Sparkfly Fen and go back to the character select screen after displaying a connection error message. Since most of the Tequatl runs are done on specific servers this would result in me unable to return to the instance I was disconnected from, if I can even get back online in time.
There is something going on with Anet’s servers. Run the built-in diagnostics function (Gw2.exe -diag) and check out the “Checking server connectivity” and “Tracing network paths” sections in the NetworkDiag.log text file that is generated, you will see some errors there.
Update:
…And unfortunately Verizon’s tech support can’t help me with this one, since the connection leaves their servers in 4 hops or less. So it’s either up to my local ISP’s end (which I’ve gotten no word from) or Anet’s end. I appreciate their efforts though.
Contact your ISP (of the Hop before the Line in Bold is actually YOUR isp) and tell them they have a head to head issue between them and alter.net, then supply them with the above trace route. They can and will take care of it from there. If there isnt a HOP issue, then the connection they are paying for to alter.net is just over subscribed (Looks like the connect is in NorCal, which really isn’t that unusual for that part of Cali.)
Thanks for the suggestion. To update on my issue, my local ISP is not taking calls since it’s a holiday. Funnily enough, Verizon stepped in and offered to help, since their servers are involved. Am waiting for their response on what to do next.
Do a tracert test to The server that will at least show we’re The lag and packets loss is coming from

I’ve taken the liberty of redacting my ISP’s addresses for privacy purposes.
The addresses 152.179.125.129, 152.63.48.125, 152.63.97.98 come up as belonging to “MCI Communications Services, Inc. d/b/a Verizon Business” when plugging these into Google.
Someone with more technical knowledge can shed more light in this matter, but I think I may have a good idea which company is responsible for this.
Can you post the crash log. Also what version of windows are you running, if it is the 32 bit you need the 64bit to run this game because of the 32bits memory limitation on only giving access to only 3.5gigs of ram no matter how much is in your system.
I don’t think this is the solution, since I have a copy of GW2 on a Windows XP 32-bit system and it doesn’t crash the way OP does.
My suggestion is to double check the Windows drivers, making sure that the latest versions are installed, especially the graphics drivers (which seem to be what the errors are pointing out).
I honestly believe it’s not our computers that is the issue (mine has comparable specs with the ones posted by other players), but something going on between Anet’s servers and our ISPs. I too have been having lag issues since Wintersday, which only got worse after the latest patch less than a week ago.
Previously I can play at optimal levels (Native resolution, Medium settings, between 40-50fps on average) with little to no lag, but now I cannot participate in big open world events without crashing, especially during Tequatl raids, even when I set it to High Performance levels (lowest possible graphical settings and everything).
I can tell that my client is about to crash when my skill bar becomes unresponsive, then the rubberbanding when trying to move around, and the massive delays in response and reaction times. I’ve diligently sent bug reports using the in-game bug report form whenever this happens, but Anet has yet to work on it, perhaps due to the holidays.
I really hope this is resolved quickly. It is very frustrating to get disconnected mid-battle, like during the last phase of the Tequatl raid in an overflow map.
I was fortunate enough to get my achievements before the Megaserver was introduced, but I know how tough the Wurm is to take down, so not being able to get your achievement after all that effort has to be pretty disheartening.
