I’ll have to admit, I subbed back to WoW when Warlords of Draenor came out. I left during WOTLK and entered a Cata dungeon as DPS using Dungeon Finder.
The gear i’m wearing are Cata green gear obtained from questing in that Vashj area.

10 mins into the run, some party members keep posting DPS recount scores on
how much I suck at DPS, how they are fricking carrying a noob thru this dungeon,
how I should go die of cancer and various other colourful obscenities regarding my mother despite the fact I told them I was a returning player and just wanted to experience Cata dungeons as I’ve never experienced them before.

Out of 10 runs i’ve done, only 2 of them were friendly but thats because they’re also returning players like me. I then promptly deleted WoW off my computer and cancelled my subscription, and came back to GW2 and knowing that no matter how bad GW2 community is, it can NEVER be as toxic as WoW.

For those that want GW2 to implement a DPS meter, this is the sort of problem you will face. So please Anet, never allow DPS meter to be added.

I personally own a Oculus Rift DK2 and believe me when i say VR looks so fricking amazing when done right.

All this talk about positioning positioning is bullcrap. Why can’t they just set it as a toggle? For players who don’t want it, don’t use it. For those of us who wanna VR in Tyria we would love this change.

Oh well, i suppose they got other more important stuffs to take care off.

Nope, we will never get cloaks because Anet cannot find a way to make them work on Charr characters. And nope, don’t hold any hope for it either. It has already been 2 years.

I bind mine to the Mouse 5 side button on my mouse and disabling the option to see target reticle before activating skill. This means i can easily have a panic button to press whenever i needed it.

They are extremely good for closing or creating gaps in PvP, and also a good escape mechanism in WvW.

Okay… I suppose I should have specified PvE, sorry. Any reason I should ever equip a teleport skill in PvE?

In COF P1, there is a particular annoying corridor that can be made MUCH EASIER with a Mesmer blinking over and setting portals.

Lots of uses of Blink / Shadowsteps during CM to be able to traverse without harm.

Suppose you just used up the 2 dodges and boss just did another aoe on you?
Blink / Shadowstep gets you safely away just enough time for your dodges to regen.

Its the kind of skill that you don’t use often, but when you do need it, you’ll LOVE it.

Yet another area where GW1 did it better. Instead of dividing professions into light, medium and heavy, each profession had unique armour sets. The GW2 system doesn’t allow for such nuances.

Interestingly, the latest TP patch showed classification of armour by class
instead of just Heavy, Medium, Light.

Yea it has been 2 years already, i think we’ve waited enough for the “Mythical” expansion.
Its never going to come. Either be happy with Living Story, or find a new game.

i’ve got a ranger too and yea it seems all rangers need to wear ultra conservative.
No skimpy looks, not even a tiny bit of skin.
They might as well change the class name to “Nun” instead.

Just my view on this.

Since launch, whenever there are any features that will come in contact with Player Populations, it will somehow just…i dunno….fail.

Do you all not take into account this important factor when designing a feature?
Or is it a really hard thing to manage in MMOs? Or is it a Megaserver failure?
Or is the QC really JUST THAT BAD?? Or maybe the Network Team is just failing?

Of the MMOs i’ve played so far, GW2 while certainly not the worst, has probably
the most issues pertaining to Player Population. Its like features are being tested in a local LAN network with maybe at most 20 people, then release it in the wild and realize that OPPS we GOOFED!! There are more then 20 people on Planet Earth!!

1) At launch, Overflow system was abit of a mess.

2) To Cull or Not Cull Players. Wot.

3) Megaserver not accounting players from other servers, and thus screwing Guilds.

4) Giving us all these new features for the minis, but slap us in the face by hiding them due to Player Population?

I can’t imagine i actually want mounts in the game.
I think i know why they will never be added, because we might NOT BE ABLE TO RIDE THEM DUE TO RISING PLAYER POPULATION!!! lol

Yea this one is one of the silliest part of the patch.

Revamp of Minis!!! You can view your Minis PERMANENTLY!!! Oh wait!! we gotta hide them due to player population.

Haven’t read thru the entire CDI so i’m not sure if this has already been mentioned.

Proposal Overview
Allow players only to join 1 guild instead of being able to join multiple guilds.

Goal of Proposal
To promote player loyalty in guild. I never understood the logic of allowing players to join multiple guilds. What was the benefit of that?

All i can see are people repping guilds only to attend that particular guild’s event. Why are we even allowing players to farm guild events? I’d much rather to join a guild of like-minded individuals rather then just looking at a couple of “Migrants”

Proposal Functionality
Simply remove the ability for players to join multiple guilds.

The big question is….Do we even dare to look forward to the next feature pack after the mess this one did.

You do not think that ‘this’ speaks volumes for Anet as a company, that their big ‘feature’ patch could be bugged to this level, speaks poorly on them for Q.A assuming they actually did any of it.

I can not see how any of these issues could not have been picked up during any reasonable Q.A cycle.

To be fair, anyone who has played mmos should know that no company
is ever perfect and epic screw ups can happen. The QC definitely has failed
on this one for sure. Heck they may even have just copy pasted everything
blindly from the china client.

All I am asking is to just give them time to resolve this.
Lets just wait and see if the situation improves.

From the sudden influx of red posts with even Colin himself replying, its obvious that anet is finally aware of the massive displeasure for this feature pack.

From what i can see, they seem to be indicating that all the kittenification
brought by the NPE is due to unforeseen bugs, and the actual experience
isnt what we are supposed to be encountering. (eg: You shouldn’t faceroll
everything by dancing lol! good vid btw)

Whether its really bugs or their realisation that no one like their feature designs,
and they are using “bugs” as an excuse to salvage the issue, I say give them a
couple of days to sort things out. Lets see how it goes.

To anet: Whether it is really bugs or not, the QC for this feature patch
is pretty much non existent. Hope we can look forward to a less clusterkitten
experience in the future.
