Engi do not need a rifle with a long range. We have Nades and Mortar to pew pew at distance.
Do you want to buff rifle?
Make it a shotgun (as it should be)
1 – Hip shot: is no longer a projectile, but a close range shock wave like Guardian Staff AA
2 – Net Shot: It’ ok
3 – Blunderbuss: it’s ok. I would add cripple too, but it’s not necessary
4 – Overcharged Shot: it remains a projectile, but it pierces
5 – Jump shot: Reduce CD or add evade frame

Personally I still find Mjölnir the superior skin when it comes to a “legendary” hammer.

Since that Anet stopped its work on new Legendaries i was thinking to craft The Juggernaut. I was wondering how it looks like Juggernaut effect on magitech skin
If any of you have both this two things, can you please post here a screenshot/video to show it?

Soloquers (like me) have a huge handicap:
gw2 pvp ranked it’s a random arena, but you can also pick an organised party with your friends and crash any other random team
I miss the the period when team queue was separated by solo queue

Hi Branden, and welcome to GW2 Engineer Community!
First of all i suggest you to reach the level 80
Then go with your guild doing the dungeon Citadel of Flame path 1 and 2. These two path are fast and easy to learn.
Once you get enough Tokens of that dungeon you can buy the complete set of Citadel of Flame with the stats: “Power, Precision, Ferocity”
These stats are better for dungeon then Condition stats

I am an engi main and i miss the dear old Celestial Rifle Vanilla build
Scrapper is way too ez to play, and quite strong.
I would really like to play a Vanilla Tournament, instead of this brainless meta!
The problem is not the trait itself.
At the moment Rifle is not at a good spot.
Ii think that therer are two main reason:
1 – Hammer is seriously stronger then Rifle, both in pvp than in pve
2 – The powercreep of HoT brought a lot of extra reflect and projectile blocks
So, without a total overhaul of the skill set of the weapon, rifle won’t see the light nevermore
A solution could be an AA similar to Staff Guardian AA, so as someone suggested in other threads, Rifle will be more similar to a shotgun, then a sniper carabine.
After all, engi as nades and mortar so it’s not necessary to have rifle ranged too
And yes, jump shot should an evade and with a reduced CD, and increased damage
ILobo’s build is good but compared with hammer rifle is meh at the moment.

Even if some classes are more vulerable vs War, while others can counter him well, it’s always a matter of knowledge and skills.
A good player with enough skill and experience with the X class will always beat an average War.
I told how do i beat a war using a scrapper.
I have 1K wins with engi and i am a casual player
Ask any other player who mains both war and X class and he will tell you how to deal with War in some way
Of course,in this current meta, an expert player using a War who knows well every single class will have a great advantage over other foes, but i don’t think that war is over over powered.

I main both War and Engi
When I play Scrapper I simply put a lot of poison
(Sigil of Doom, Fiumigate, Poison nades in a Marauder build, poison shell…)
on the war, and he will die very easy.
When he procs his shield, I proc Acid Bomb (unblockable)
I Always proc Stability to not be CC chained, and I never CC him (Rousing Resilience)
The best way to counter a class is to learn well how to play it
Countering it will be automatic
In pvp, P/P it’s not longer viable.
In WvW maybe it’ still a thing, but still people has too much condi immunity and condi removal
In PvE it’s great, but only in High level fracals, Raids or Dungeon With bosses with a lot of health. For the open world it’s the same. Against trash mobs it’s a waste. Berserker gear works better.
And of course the main problem is that you are forced o pick 3 specific traits. Explosives, Tools and Firearms. No Scrapper and no difensive trait

Warrior can change one weapon with another one in the inventory. 30 sec. CD
imho, it’s not OP but it gives more versatility to this profession

Nice build Piero! It reminds me the dear old Celestial P/S but with Gyros. I will give it a chance. Unfortunately, Scrapper Meta is way too good at the moment, so i think that your build it will loose vs good Condi reapers/mesmers/revenant, but i will try it anyway

Elixir C is useful. No it’s OP because necros no longer uses Corrupt Boon

no more chain skills. Just spam everything you have to your enemy

I play this game since June 2014. I want to ask to whoever played since the first beta if it was always any profession that was Overpowered while others were Underpowered.
Actually it may be DH trapspam or Bunker Mesmer while Warrior and Thief are preatty broken.
I mean those cheesy brainless specs with 20% risk / 80% reward

I main both Warrior and Engi. Scrapper made engi a bruiser, with the hammer, which is the sum of a lot of warrior weapons (GS, Shield, Hammer…) with the utility of an engi.

Yes, but Warrior needs more sustain, atm. Try the Indistructible Berseker of Cygnus n pvp
You will see a HUGE different between this uild and the Vanilla GS/Hammer build
Of course I’ve used other Runes and weapons instead of mace (sword,axe…) but you are no more one-shotted. I had a lot of fun with that build. If we only had a little more sustain, we can brake bones again!
Traits:
- Make baseline both Fast hands and warrior sprint
- Make baseline all the cooldowns of weapons
Weapons:
- Increase AA dmg and speed of all weapons.
- Axe #2 should be an evade leap
- Sword #2 should be an evade
- Fix GS#5 and GS#3 (i feel lame since the patch pre-HoT)
- Make Hammer #2 = GS #3 or #5 fixed
- Make Axe #5 reflect Projectiles, but with a longer cooldown
- Make Axe #4 useful. (maybe an evade leap?)
Too many evades? Still less then a Revenant…
You all know that this is Anet’s fault, pure healers, they’ve said that they will never do pure healers, and there they are, kitten this! I so hate playing, nowadays 2 druid, 1 mesmer, 1 ele and that’s enough, we never win against them…. this is not pvp anymore! This is just kittened up..! I so hate playing..had 21 pips, and now 9 in ruby tier, because of this kitten….this is not healthy…. I want to vomit!
Pure healers and bunkers (Druids and Chronomancer) was added for the new pve content (Raids). But now, they are OP in pvp. So, why don’t we just separate pvp skills/traits/ecc… from pve stuff? So we could balance the classes more easily.

Either for base war or for a new Elite spec.
F3 could maybe be the button to swap to your third weapon.
I would put the third weapon slot as a class mechanic.
As a lot of people here in the forum suggested, we should have more than just a burst damage skill on the F-buttons, such as Stances, Heal, or a third weapon slot.
For example it could be like that:
1° bar of adrenaline: third weapon slot
2° bar of adrenaline: heal
3° bar of adrenaline: Burst skill
and so on…
Three weapon slots would open to new possibilities.
Just think about how many combinations could we make:
GS-Longbow-Sw/Sc
GS-Longbow-Hammer (this would be my favourite…)
GS-Longbow-Axe/Sc
GS-Hammer-Axe/Sc
and so on…
This change won’t fix warrior, but it will make it a decent option in this meta

Anyway, Warrior needs a total overhaul and a big reset of it’s profession mechancs, skills and tratis.
Actually, ths profession dosn’t bring anything that another random class can bring better. And of course the Elite spescs needs an overhaul, too.
We have to wait the next balance patch, and hope in a buff/(other professions)nerf at least to make Warrior decent

Atm, i feel more Weaponmaster with the Scrapper, then with the Warrior
This is one the main reason because i don’t like to play in a rng party. I prefer to go with my guildmates, so that we can coordinate with voice, and of course, there is no toxic beteen us! :-)
an easy way to indirect buff war could be the add of Superior Sigil of Incapacitation in pvp… + leg specialist = immobilize on critical… yummy
I’ll tell you why. With new elite specs you have to face more counters of SD:
- Condi spam (reaper, p/p engi, Mallyx rev)
- Condi Burst (guardian)
- Projectiles Reflects and blocks (mesmer, DH, Scrapper, aura-tempest, shield war)
- Tank builds (a lot of stuff…)
So, why should play a build that is easily countered by the current meta?
Can anyone link me the optimal build for the condi engi for fractal? I’m going to craft my ascended armor so i have to choose the stats wisely
if revenant is in a bad spot, I don’t dare to imagine in which spot is the warrior…
Now i understand what’s going on. Devs whatch your videos and say: “Omg! Warrior is too OP! We should nerf it!”

So i recently start playng with my mesmer in pvp, and in one of my first match one of my teammates told me that i am using an OP class and started telling baad things of me. And this happened to others matches and other players too.
Why all this hate? I though that the most hated class was thief, not mesmer
btw, i was using a burst shatter build that a friend of mine suggested me. Is that build so OP?
With the buff of the amulets, high risk/reward are way too better then hybrid/condi builds. Guardian started using Carrion condi builds for stacking burning.
I started using a condi build Carrion amulet and Balthazar Rune with P/P, Healing turret, Nades/Bombs, Tool Kit, EG, Mortar kit with a decent success. The problem is that asctually, a good Guard can stack burning more and better then an engi
It is not a bug – this is how the new changes work.
Is it good ? On the one side it isn’t – on the other it is.Disengage also means getting away when crippled/chilled – and the changes allow you to do that now.
Do I like the slow feeling? No. But I guess we’ll have to learn to live with it.
Then why savage leap’s speed is the same?

Is this build still good? I love Hammer/GS with leg specialist, but it seems that it will be nerfed with the new trait system.
Now, to take Leg Specialis, I am forced to choose a supportive trait line. -.-

This will force casual cheesy thiefs to start using thier brain, and to theorycraft some new builds

It’s VERY squishy, so it can be hard to master. Also, heavy condi build can be a pain.
Sigils and Runes can be changed. It’s your personal choice. Also, you can choose different traits, just do not change the first line
The goal, when using this build is too keep your adrenaline bar full as long as possible. You can use Hammer’s CC to interrupt and apply confusion and Axe’s AA to constantly drop down the health of your opponent.
You will see that a lot of ppl waiting for the animation of the Eviscerate, wasting their dodges.
If you find in trouble use Shield #5 or endure pain, of course
Pistol or torch in off hand, with a smoke field like thief’s black powder + savage leap = warrior’s stealth = rotflolling thiefs
