on JQ, DA went separate ways, some joined blobbing guilds, some swapped servers, and some don’t play anymore. Those that didn’t wanna zerg and still play daily formed OP.

- Melandru runes bc imo and from my experience I get more staying power due to conditions getting reapplied as soon as you clear them. I am too used to being spoiled by fast hands to not run at least 15 in all my builds, some people use armored attack or reckless dodge but I really really like DotE. I don’t have numbers or actual testing for whats best but I like my damage numbers and have been very successful with it (DotE).
- I like merciless hammer and spiked armor but I need some type of stability if running 3 shouts so I take last stand, in huge ZvZ fights I swap fear me for dolyak signet or balanced stance and since I don’t go 30 in defense I can’t run spiked armor.
- The accessories are fine if you don’t mind hitting like a wet noodle, but imho its overkill toughness and vitality. I have like 25k hp and can get up to 28k with buffs/bonuses, its plenty of hp and armor is close to 3k which is also plenty IMO.
- For huge ZvZ I run a hammer with sigil of restoration but for most of the time I run force. On sword I like force as well to give it, imo, the extra dps bump it needs to actually feel powerful…..final thrust can hit pretty big. Hydromancy on warhorn to chill runners, kiters, or help me gtfo…..
Logged in to say thanks for the guide & tips, it was very helpful and made getting the ap’s a breeze. Me n my guildies had so much siege laid out that the mobs never even got close to the yaks, we didn’t even have to think about killing mobs, the siege wiped em out fast.
What would wvw frontline warriors run if there was no hammer in the game? Without going to in depth, because this would affect the zerging meta, what do you think would be the popular frontline weapon(s)?
I got over 30 fotm skins all but one type so I really don’t think they need to be made easier to get
Its nice that u were luky, But some of us are kitten ed to be getting bad luk all the time. I have 9 skins. 2 of them being staffs and 2 of them being warhorns. 6 i will never use. I’m almost at the 500 fractal frequenter ugh. I just want greatsword.
Ha! Lucky, ha! “I’m almost at the 500 fractal frequenter” HA! You’re still new to fractals buddy. I have at least 40 skins, it took me at least 6 months grinding to get the skin(s) I wanted. When I say grinded I mean I ran up to 6 fractals a day for chance at getting skin. I have 1 character at 48, 3 characters at 38, and 1 character at 28. I cannot speak for everyone but luck didnt help me at all, it was persistence and patience.
Yea it’s viable when Roaming. Flurry>100b combo is great and it’s fun to see people trying to jump out of the immobilize while you melt their hp

The gs needs burst changed and a rush fix, that’s all. The gs can be used for reasons other than running away and from objective to objective. I usually use hammer but have good success running gs to roam and sometimes zerg (rarely, for fun…). You just have to learn how to set up for hb’s that will just shredd hp. When I’m playing this it’s almost always gs + sw/wh, the sword burst immobilize is key in landing hb’s. What you do is leap, flurry, and swap to gs for hb’s. You get the full 4s immob right when you land flurry, so you want your swap off cd to switch right away. Bolas is good to run of not sword, I also like gs + hammer for dueling, chaining staggering blow, back breaker, earthshaker, and hb’s will burst someone down really fast.
Get multiple sets for different roles. I have a soldier set with melandru, soldier set with ruby orbs, rampagers for condi, I’m slowly making a celestial set bc why not
Soldier is old meta, melandru is current. As soon as you clear condi with your shout it gets reapplied…useless.

I’ve been getting an invalid password/account name error every couple of days for a week now. I have never had this problem before, it started doing this around Oct. 28th. I use the options, “remember account name” and “remember password,” and log in and out numerous times without error then randomly it errors. It wont let me log in, when I KNOW for a fact that I have precisely entered my CORRECT account name and password without spaces before or after.
What is the problem? Why am I getting this error? I’m getting annoyed with having to get my serial out and reset my password every couple of days.

Fractals and wvw is the best imo. For fractals you get a nice amount from being at a higher level than the fractal you run. Straight from the wiki…..

im 48 but the last part is capped at 10 so if I ran a lvl 18…..
6400 + 8 * 18 * (10) = 7840 karma
for wvw, with a gold medal in the event you get…
- castle= 1700
- keep= 1360
- tower= 680
- camp= 340
- sentry= 170
- dolyak= 85
So you could get more karma faster in wvw if you joined a map where the enemy had captured everything and were no longer on the map, allowing a karma train to start up…
you have to do the pre-event three times before it goes to the next phase. The port in front of the pre-event npcs has a ship sitting in the water, once the pre-events to kill the champ risen have been completed enough to move to the next phase the ship will sail away.

You’re gunna have to run fractals to get this. You can level up your fractals by doing a level above your current level, you could just run odds only to save time, or if youre one of those players that hates grouping or just doesn’t like fractals in general..you could try soloing the urban battlegrounds shard and farm the ascalonian mobs using the charr npcs to help fight.
The wiki says that this food does not give any damage bonus, I was hoping a dev or someone that has tested this could confirm the wiki is correct.
5 superior runes of infiltration – 10% damage when target below 50% hp
Superior sigil of impact – 10% damage to stunned or knocked down foe
Bowl of seaweed salad -10% damage while moving

Has anyone ever tried a build like this? This would be a wvw hammer build for zerg surfing or coordinated small group skirmishing. Yes I know you wouldn’t be getting the +% damage max all the time but say all the conditions were met, what kind of damage would this do? Would the +% damage be inferior to just having stats like power & precision? Or would it hit so hard the enemy gets no down state and is blasted straight to the repair merchant..in LA?

All zerker armor & trinkets, runes of your choice- best would be melandru, lyssa, or ruby orbs. Traits could vary a lot depending on play style you prefer but something like 20/0/30/0/20, 0/0/30/10/30, 10/0/30/0/30, 0/25/30/0/15…..if u didnt notice..30 in defense is a must for dogged march, last stand, endure pain. The weapons depend on the traits kind of…the sets you would want could be- gs + hammer, gs + sw/wh, hmmer + sw/wh, gs + a/sh…again it’s up to what u prefer & play style. Utilities you would use- sio, bs, ep, Stamina sig, bolas….depends….
Since you prefer a/m main you would just use gs to get away I guess. Carry a lb & rifle too and swap gs for range if you think you’ll need it. Signets & shouts are good utility for leveling.
Hoelbrak is way out there for the kinda play I’m talkin about…we buff before collision, don’t need no might runes.

I’m on jq our blob fights can be pretty hectic and conditions are re applied so easily. To me melandru seems to be the better rune set because it’s constantly on, while shouts go on cooldown. I understand the group condi removal is nice but with the way wvw is currently I would imagine most have their own condi removal plus all the water blasts going off. I don’t see the point in clearing the condition for it to be applied a half a second later.

I’m not so much bitter, but baffled and frustrated at the lack of loyalty. I’ve been around since launch and have seen the guilds come and go, this shouldn’t be a surprise to me, but am particularly kitten because they (reputable, skilled, influential, players/guilds) chose the team with absolutely no challenge. JQ has had ups and downs and we’ve been in the down for a while now, but it has been so much fun trying to compete. I’m fine with dropping down a tier, it’ll be nice to have some fresh fights, but I would have liked to still be fighting SoR & Bg. Still don’t understand why some of our quality wvw’ers would want to be on ez mode.
Thieves could use a lil something to bring them down a notch, like you know how you turn the knob in the shower to get that perfect temperature? Just a lil bit all I want. As it is right now I rarely get dropped by 1 or 2 thieves, but I also don’t even think to stop and kitten foot with them. Im running & poof – 2 lil midgets on a sugar high appear, doin flippity flops & playing leap frog begging me to play. 2 scenarios, I engage and do work on both then they vanish for 30s while I’m doing circles with my camera and poof there at it again bouncing off the wall except this time I down 1, and just like that they vanish again…then I see them both up and running, either back at me or away from me. Other scenario is I just keep running while they hop around and after about 5 mins going from top of map to bottom they give up and turn around or they slowly dwindle my hp down with a thousand little pricks and rubberband welts
Maybe we can swap? You can have some of our JQ and in return we get some SoR. Just make sure the SoR you send are looking for a challenge, are glory hungry, and won’t jump ship when they individually can’t carry a whole server. We already sent our part of the deal so your move. If you’re not interested then whatever you can keep what we sent, we don’t want em’ back.

As much as people say thieves are the most mobile, I really think that I can beat a thief in a foot race. This is why I always get away if I need to disengage, especially when being ganked by 2-3 thieves. I’m almost always using gs + sw/wh, with SoR, charge, forceful gs, rush, whirlwind, balanced stance (swiftness now), and savage leap…when I use these I’m so far ahead of any enemy they give up. It’s funny to look behind as thieves are playing leap frog to catch up and burn their initiative, while I’m 2000+ range ahead and starting my rotation again. Once I get ooc I like to swap a utility for bull’s charge, get even further away and then use my key bind for walk as they try to catch up.
