The whole point of the api keys is for sharing information with third parties where all of the control is in the hands of player giving out the key. And later they can choose to revoke the key.

Sharing the key with another player is no different than sharing it with a third party website.

Fractal legendary armor (doesn’t need to be a fancy skin – can just be stat swapping like the PVP / WvW ones) for PVE players who don’t want to raid. It can be STUPID expensive, but at least give players a way of getting it that does not involve them playing content they are not interested in (again – as they have provided for WvW and PVP players).

The biggest concern with fractal legendary, even if it has no unique skin, is that raids is the source for PvE legendary armor, and we don’t want to diminish that.

That said i don’t think anyone would complain about a fractal style armor set assuming you guys can spare the artist and resources to do it.

That is the real question. Armor sets are surprisingly expensive in terms of developer cost.

We just need to delete charr first…

You have it backwards, just need to delete the non-charr so we can finally have proper tail armor.

Outnumbered buff

In the ~12 hours I’ve been in WvW since the patch, I’ve seen outnumbered not apply for upwards of an hour.
The only thing that seems consistent is if we lose it and then get it back people will get it, otherwise it doesn’t ever seem to apply to people.

If people find it to be the golden time to play then if they wanted to raid then they would. If you can’t find a group for what you want, start one, I’ve lead groups as late as Sunday with pugs and they fill within minutes usually.

Well i like idea of legendary armor but also for a person who is not played Raid ever before only because all guilds and player are very strict and only want people with experience which is impossible to obtain as no one in sane mind would ever take you on raid. One dose not simply join raid team or clan! why cant developers develop a system same as in fractal to let players learn and progress to higher level? Why make unique content for raids only and promote players to earn real life money for taking individuals around? Thai is really unfair on solo players and shows how little considiration GW2 team shows for people who just joint game recently or attempted to start playing raids! I honestly find it much easier to pay some one to take me round rather then spend 6 hours trying to find a team that will take player without any Li

So a few things,
Raids are not a pay to get system, every person who got into raiding had to learn at some point.
Solo players in an MMO will always be at a disadvantage, make some friends join a guild, multiple groups are constantly looking for people.
It has been said many times that the fractal system does not work for raids, and there are currently multiple easy bosses that allow you to ease into the content so there really doesn’t need to be another setting for them just so you can be lazy.
Additionally if you really want to raid, start your own group and make your own requirements like EVERYONE ELSE, not everything is going to just be handed to you.
Further it’s not like the bosses have super tight timers anyways, every boss can be killed with only 6/10 players on the high end with more than 1 min of enrage timer to spare.
Compared to any other MMO this game is incredibly flat in it’s gear progression, the gap between ascended and exotic is so small that more difference can be seen by actually just learning how to play your class proper. And as it stands Ascended takes next to no time to get, and for a number of pieces are basically free.

The Shockwave on samarog can be stabilitied through, I and the druids in my guild usually just CA 5 through it. And on CM half the time we give stability to the people with the spear so they can ignore the cc’s.

Honestly I assume this is a limitation due to the fact that they are just unkillable enemies with an odd animation. Reasonably speaking they shouldn’t ever be on the group anyways.
A real issue that needs fixing is the wedges from his knock back attack get culled mid skill, and ignores stability when no other cc does in the whole raid.

It’s widely known that virtues can in theory do more dps based on boons, unscathed and the free damage proc from the hammer trait. How ever unscathed works better with other weapons and is generally hard to maintain for prolonged periods. And half the reason for a hammer guard build is for the permanent protection and healing which is tied mostly to honor.

So I don’t know if this is a known issue but, while salvaging some underused raid rings, I found out that you don’t get magnetite shards from infused attune rings from raids.
Does anyone know if they have said anything about it as to if it’s intended?

That presige is lost if you can buy the raids though, if you weren’t allowed to sell raids we wouldn’t need extra categories in LFG and people would have to earn those prestige items one way or another.

I don’t go around crying I’m never going to have God of PvP title because I know I’m not that good nor am I willing to put in the amount of effort needed to get it which would be PvP for months. I am ok with this, I’ve made my choice of either “git gud” or do without and I will do without. Same can be said of legendary armour, no-one needs it and it would be cheaper to get multiple exotic or even ascended sets instead.

There’s never been any prestige behind the armor, the bosses are comparatively easy to kill with a group of 10 maybe decent players. I would argue that WvW players are better suited to beating the encounters since they are more used to being lead through fights where most PvE players are used to PHIW game play that doesn’t reward any different.
Beyond raid selling there’s always going to be players who get carried through the content, like revenants that deal 4k dps on Matthias for example. The only real difference is the players are being carried for free instead of paying people for the privilege.
And you could argue that the people selling the raids would be more likely to help other players clear if they weren’t making money, not that you did but covering a base, most of the people in my guild would probably be on hiatus were it not for selling since at the moment there isn’t much to do in game right now.
Until Anet actually makes a content that truly can only be completed by a minority of players, all working hard, there will be 0 prestige behind any item in game.

What classes have you attempted with?

Like Ori’s post stated, having all the fractal potions activated would make it easier.

If we’re talking solely about the first boss (Mama), I don’t recall it to have much ‘1-shot kill’ mechanics. Only ones that come to mind are:

  • Bubble mechanic
  • Sub 33% when Mama starts moving and jumping and you can’t dodge the jump when Mama jumps directly on top of you – I normally just dodge into Mama to instantly avoid all 3 of those shockwaves then dodge back to avoid the swipe.

Bubble Mechanic – do you happen to be too far away to run to it when it spawns? Instant death.

Watch nights – Does MAMA happen to be right on top of it when it spawns the full arena except close skill? Go into the circle MAMA instant kills you, stay out the watchnight does.

Just a couple examples.

The add’s attacks can all be dodged, so don’t go saying you have to run in and die to it when it goes in mama.

Well, I guess I’m going to have to spend alot of actual cash and convert it to gold for that. Or maybe I’ll just wait and hope they make wvw or pvp legendary armor. That seems ridiculously expensive.

Right now that’s assuming ~700g per week or 77.77g per boss kill, split 8 ways it works out to just shy of 10g per person on the run. Those people who have to pop 1~2g worth of food every 1-3 bosses assuming no wipes and everything goes fast. So on average the players doing the kill make 26g for every 3 boss kills.
Which is decent money for the time but you also have to remember that it takes a lot of effort to get together 8 skilled players to sell consistently, and there is burn out to deal with. As it is raid selling is a lot more fragile than fractal selling or similar because of all the added egos. So a part of the profit has to go into making it so people are willing to put up with each other’s less than pleasant side.
It would be nice for WvW and Pvp to get something similar but as it stands right now the only reason to really raid beyond the initial fun is the rewards part of which is the armor so it’s hard to get behind. Though if selling did die off I could go back to clearing weekly on 3~4 accounts and getting all that sick loot and not holding boss instances.

I’m kind of curious about this. Roughly how much gold would it cost for you to pay to get enough crap to make legendary armor? As a purely wvw player, I absolutely detest pve and have no desire to ever do raids. But having stat swapping armor would greatly help in wvw. How much would it cost me if i paid for it so i can just afk while someone else does it for me so i dont have to suffer through all the pve crap?

At the price that we sell for right now to just get the 150 LI’s it would run you roughly ~12,000 gold to buy the current raids weekly at 9 bosses a week, though that would be before discounts.
Some guilds are close but generally that’s about as low as it would get for just the sheer number of boss kills, bare in mind a number of guilds do the underhanded thing of charging more if they don’t like you or because there are so many people buying they jack the price up.

Why don't support Druids use warhorns?

Something to say, is if you want to maximize healing, warhorn is used on ranger traited for the long duration regen that allows the ranger to out class the mesmer boon.
But the same can be done with a concentration sigil on a staff, and traited healing spring, with monk runes.

Dungeons are largely a forgotten game mode, most players who came up with a lot of the old strats don’t even play the game anymore.
That said Mastery points have nothing what so ever to do with anything other than displaying the number of masteries a person has unlocked, just like AP.
If you want to actually do things the way the used to be done while doing a tour of the like ~21 commonly cleared paths you’ll probably just have to find a static group or guild to do them with since not many pugs are going to care how long it takes; seeing that most of them will be doing them for the first or second time and still being caught up in the fun of the content and not be all about that gold/hour.

The orbs don’t deal that much damage so you don’t really feel them unless you eat tens after tens. What matters is to look on the ground for the red circles, those are the problem. If you use 5 stack potion + have some protection (condi druid has on dodge for example) you can easily solo all 5 circles.

Something else to add to this which isn’t obvious, but the blue orbs heal you for a decent amount as well.

I know some of them like thief it ends up not being worth it after a certain % since there isn’t an easy way to pick up the crit chance.
Even that said a number of the builds can reach 100% with minor dps losses or gains but most people don’t tend to care if you get within ~2% of 100%.
And the thing with Qt’s builds is that they generally don’t spreadsheet like Dekeys used to, they may use some, but more often than not their stuff is based off of just what rotations and stat combinations worked best on the golems. And you usually can assume that what they have posted is within probably ~3% of the best possible gear setups.
The other thing to remember is to not get overly fixated on theory and work more with what preforms better in practice which usually means you need to run one of the ""Allowable"" dps tools.

If your dps is too low, then shards are going to be an issue regardless. However even with good dps, if you have crappy breaks for her break bar far more crystals will spawn in rendering a lot of your work useless.
So you might want to look at those two issues first.

It does make sense, but this will probably lead to: 1 war, 1 chrono, 1 druid, 7 ele…

Like I said, some Balance Changes need to be done then if we go this Route but I see this as a good Step in the Right Direction.

And if Anet stops nerfing Classes not called Eles and stops buffing Eles we could see more variety. ( together with more Skill Splitting which also would make Balancing easier )

The original reason Anet didn’t want to allow 10 man buffs was because it would lead to 1 comp that could stack all buffs in the game with minimal support allowing for far higher than intended dps making the encounters a joke.
They’ve stated before that they didn’t want to have to deal with the idea of one composition that had ~7 dps classes with all buffs since if they balanced the content around that it would mean no other composition would generally work.
As it is, raids are incredibly forgiving, all bosses can be can be completed with as few as 6 people before enrage timer. Beyond this nothing in the raid actually requires people to run with all the buffs that a mirror composition brings, people think that it is needed to clear the content.
The only thing that actually changed with this balance over all is that you can’t get 100% up-time on the strongest boon in the game with only 1 mesmer anymore. And that the unintended affect of jagged horrors was removed.
All of the classes that were optimal or near optimal before are now in basically the same position with the exception of Necromancer. Even then there is no boss that can be cleared, that can’t be cleared with a 10 necro teams so it’s not like it’s a dead class.
People need to take a step back and stop complaining that balance happened because if you ever look at things anet only does minor changes 90% of the time to nudge the meta game.

Note: Somewhat new to raids and the druid role.

Is the druid still the main healer after the latest release? I noticed on metabattle that his DPS builds are ranked higher then the Raid Healer build.

Also what stats? maji, clerics, marauder, etc…

Just looking for a little guidance.

Generally speaking it depends on the group, in a pug or lower skill group magi/zealots druid is used as the healing build. In a more experienced group you’ll frequently see condition druid be more than enough with all the other healing going on from other classes also in dps gear. Generally speaking druid is the only healer, Healing Rev, Ele, and mesmer all work they’re just less useful or less dps or just less popular.

We tested 5 man sub squad dps.

On large hit box 2 ele as dps was the winner by so far no other option makes sense.

In small hitbox double ele and 1 ele 1 guard and 1 ele 1 rev were roughly equal with the rev perhaps being slightly ahead due to more consistent buff uptime.

The worst was 1 ele 1 thief which was noticeably worse than any of the others which was surprising. My guess is because thief doesn’t help with might or fury. It would be worth trying rev plus thief and no ele on a small hit box but we didn’t think of it.

Did ya’ll try Condi Ranger/Engi? And was that Guard Hammer? Think it’s worth noting the 2 Ele means all your DPS are nice and squishy and you don’t have perma protection (druids can provide good but not complete coverage) where with the Rev or Guard you’d have complete coverage.

Seems to me that there is still a fair amount of options, just instead of Rev having a ‘guaranteed’ slot you now have 2 mesmers. And, well, no thieves :/

Condi ranger in a dps role is intriguing because the ability to take sun spirit frees a slot on your healers bar to bring stone spirit for better buff coverage. That’s a pretty big selling point to me. Also better fury uptime due to two tigers per squad group.

You know, you’re incredibly worried about fury, with the way they changed SoI it’s really a non issue if you either have Fgj or a tiger in each sub-squad.

Raid Team Comp DPS Differences

It’s not currently related to the dps, since if anything they said they would increase revenant dps to make up for the boon duration. As it stands mesmer can easily pick up the missing 17%.
The reason everyone is saying what they are saying, is if the nerf is bad enough to mesmer you’ll be forced to take 2 to maintain quickness over the whole squad. And when you weigh it out Quickness>Revenant and DPS class>Revenant. The reason they have a place is because you only need 1 mesmer for quickness and 1 rev in that case is more than another dps class and makes things like fury prot and similar easier to maintain as a bonus.
As for other classes people are simply citing the fact that when you throw alacrity into the mix Elementalist becomes the undisputed king of dps ranging 2~8k above other classes depending on the fight.
As it stands we don’t have enough information to actually say for sure where the meta will go but, people are taking what we have been told, assuming the worst and extrapolating.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I am not saying I want to see other classes as dps. I am saying that if you look at the majority of the raid mechanics, they are always about surviving, and dps is handled mostly through class abilities etc, and very little damage is attributed to raid mechanics.

I’m saying it could be interesting to have raid mechanics that are for damage rather than surviving. Maybe with a hard enrage timer, so that missing mechanics is still problematic.

At the same time though, as we stand in the meta right now we have numerous builds for dps roles that work. The only classes that can’t reasonable run a dps role atm are rev & mesmer. Every other class has a dps set up that can do at least 24k dps reliably which is more than enough for all the bosses. Beyond that if you start adding more raid boss based dps aspects you end up hurting the diversity of the raids themselves and honestly having 6 slots basically always filled anyways, we don’t need another constraint added to the fights.
The main thing I fear personally is that anet will kill the pve balance we have the moment in the name of something stupid like nerfing chronomacer, which would kill the comps in raids as they are now. /tangent
-side note: when I say 24k dps that’s before things like dodging toughness and the like.

While the principle works out for it, not many people like it.
Many people will call it dumb, and depending on the set up it is dumb.
As it is there are groups that find trying to do the mesmer rotation and tanking hard.
That said, the gaps for dps work out something like:
Berserker/Assassin: ~12k
Commanders: ~9k
Minstrels: ~4k
I will say if your group can suddenly bring 2 dps focused druids because of you running minstrels then sure go ahead, otherwise I generally wouldn’t outside of crappy pug healers.
As for the toughness and necromancers, commanders is more than enough toughness for them to not have to care, unless they for some reason have some other toughness. That said most groups don’t bother much with necros outside of wing 2 where it doesn’t matter.
There are other things like the 5k/10s healing from running the matra heal if you are going that far into the whole support side of the gear but it’s pretty meek and you lose quickness, alacrity and dps to do so.

In a raid group the buffs spill over to the next people after 5 are buffed already. So if 5 people hit might cap the leftover might skulls over to the rest of the party correct?

Nope, even if someone has 25 might it will simply overwrite the oldest existing might stack with the new one even if it has a shorter duration.
As it stands in both a 442 and 721 comp the revenant is constantly over buffed by the chronomancer which has lead guilds like qt to not like running a rev since it “wastes quickness and alacrity.”

It’s really simple, dungeons are old content so fewer people clear it. Add on to that, people for the better part of 3 years farmed it to death. And the fact that for them to be a good source of income takes knowledge and practice which most of the community lacks at this point in some capacity. Then throw in things like the ab multi loot and the jaded community created by anet when they nerfed them literally to get players to stop playing them.

With knowing all that it’s easy enough to say dungeons are “dead” due to a jaded lazy community.

As it stands right now we have more variety to raid comps than we would if we were to have 10 man buffs, since once you got down to it you would just have comps that brought 1 of every worthwhile support and then rest would just be filled with what ever the best dps was for that given slot.
We have some of that issue now however because you can only buff 5~6 people you can end up with comps where one part of the party has a condition focus on support and the other has a power focus on support. With 10 man group buffs you have less diversity in builds since there would always only be 1 build.
Raid comps as they stand are not that far apart from each other,
442, 541, 55 and to a lesser extent 721/6211 have compare-able clear times on bosses within ~1.5 mins generally on kill times so there isn’t really that much of a gripe since there are more people who do raids only kill the boss for the loot and not for the actual challenge like qt does.
Not to mention at the end of the day more often than not problems stem from players or methods rather than from over all party comp since all bosses currently can be cleared with 6 players some as few as 4 which means there is tons of room to run literally what ever you want so long as you get the job done. The only issue being that the longer a boss goes on the more likely someone is going to screw up so it’s generally better for consistency to push for better clear times and better comps to try and avoid the eventual mess up.

While I agree that there currently is an issue with people not rerunning the content beyond rewards, if Anet actually continues with raids so that there being 2hrs of content instead down the road there could be 6~12hrs of content and that would become much harder for even active raiders to do daily. The problem is more of an issue right now with only one raid out, so while it makes sense to change it right now it wouldn’t make sense once more raids were added.
As far as ascended loot, between my 3 accounts I clear on semi regularly I get between 4 and 12 use-able ascended drops a week from raids, where from fractals I more often than not get useless rings or earrings so I think the drops in that regard are fine.
I’d rather see more unique skins and such added to raids over more ascended drops, though I will say getting ~2g per boss per day or per kill does make sense. However to be fair as it stands with the bags you get ~3g per kill as it is if you work for it.

I find out Engis are no longer really desired for anything, as their damage is sub-optimal compared to a few necros, and provide little to a group.

Who told you engi’s damage is bad?

No where in his post did he call engi’s damage bad.

[BUG] Phoenix skill hits multiple time

The skill has worked like this for over 2 years now, it has a pulsing damage aspect to it along side it’s aoe. On large mobs it can hit over 15 times for the lesser damage.

Its not only wing3, we had matt yesterday not shooting any projectiles (and so werent able to reflect them to break his bubble -.-) several times, without anyone standing inside feedback.

Patch just broke raids :/

We had that on a run and we found it seems to be that Any thing player or mob will cause the projectiles to not be reflected. Meaning at the moment Necromancer is pretty much unplayable in that fight for general clears since the minions can perma block the ability to take the stacks off.

Guardian and fractals

If you really want to use a guardian in fractals just dig up a condition guardian/dragon hunter build since it’s the only set up they have without retaliation. It’s not the highest dps but it’s not crap either and you still have the option to bring some support skills if you want.
As for blast finishers hardly any build uses them anymore so I wouldn’t worry about light fields.

If you go to the end where purple portal at the entrance of a cleared maze takes you and follow along on the west side, you’ll be able to see the chest and notice a ledge you can land on. There you’ll also notice the notch in the wall, with a little effort you can jump on that and then over the wall.
PS. Swiftness helps.

How can it be your 4th week at trying when the raid has been out for only 3(2 resets plus release) raid resets?

Huge buff, how? In what universe o.O Just explain to us how do you stack chill in a raid environment? And even more important how do you keep applying chills so the new trait is as effective as the previous one?!

He’s half right. It’s not a huge buff by any means, but under optimal circumstances the new Deathly Chill adds slightly more dps than the old trait in standard rotations mostly because of RS4 and Dagger 4. But it’s so much less reliable than the old variant that I’d say that most of the time it is going to do less. Either way the impact is numbers small enough as to be insignificant in PvE and Raids.

Considering the fact that under the old system, Revenant, Condi Druid, Tempest, Mesmer, Engineer, and other necros, all would overwrite your chill resulting in 0 damage. It’s safe to say you do significantly more damage now than you did before in most comps for raids.

There isn’t an Ar bug, if the person being eaten is down’d they instead die. If they go in with low health or are attacked by the lesser jellies they will have an easy enough time dying.

Some things in your post are valid points but a few are skewed or incorrect. Mainly 2 of them that is.

The Dormitories:
However this bonus does not come for free. You have to smash the doors in within a short period of time before the scientists get overrun.
Also if one party member runs into the dormitories (out of group miscommunication, bad habit or by accident) the event triggers and the group has no chance on getting the debuff for the boss. If the door to the dormitories had an opening mechanism, that required a party poll, the fractal could still be done with less than 5 players (if one so desires) but a player may not enter without the backing of the group.

The Dormitories can be very easily solo’d on most classes and builds especially since, thanks to the fractal team the door’s can be conditioned. If someone is struggling all you have to do is start with the fire or poison room first since these two are the only two with a “short” window to save the asura. The other two are still seemingly needed for the buff sometimes and others not but in general you have to be insanely slow to not manage to save those two. So adding what amounts to an idiot blocker doesn’t really help fractals but instead causes annoyance when someone who can solo it gets told by their party no, or when someone just keeps popping the pop up. As it is WAY too many groups will sit outside the heat room doing nothing while 1 person solo’s it.

Cosmic Barrage:
Also it punishes players that are ranged too much. Because a reflected attack switches ownership from the player to the boss it strikes with the boss’ power (which of course is extremely high).

This is not how reflection in guild wars 2 is taken into account, the wiki does a terrible job explaining it, but basically when an attack is reflected the Skill’s source’s power is used while the reflection’s source’s crit chance, crit damage and damage modifiers are used for the damage calculation, this is why things like 1 shotting bosses is a thing.

I assume you mean the little brown chests?

If so, what I have found is if you kill trio the one on the wall bugs,
and if you kill Matthias all chests remaining seem to bug out for the week.
The only work around is going into an instance where only sloth has been killed or where sloth and trio have been killed but not Matthias, depending on which chests you need.

Retaliation is a killer when you’re dealing with the Boon Thieves instability… Metabattle builds for fracs all seem to include some traits that give retal, so they’re out.

Generally when doing fractals with my guild, we don’t bother with a guard anymore. As it stands you want a mesmer for quickness and alacrity anyways and they can bring reflects. The only boss that could give you trouble is bloom hunger but since the current system either doesn’t give full rewards for this tier or just doesn’t give you swamp this is a non issue.

You realize you totally dont answer his question ?

He’s looking for a high dps build for fotm for dh, that has no retal. And what I stated is there’s no point to doing dps guard without Zeal and that we don’t bother and just run mesmer instead, on top of the fact that in the current meta there’s no point to guard over mesmer.
