Oh, I so hope the Orr maps will be rebuilt! Let the old Orr maps exist as instances for the personal story only. A Living Story will change the world permanently, just like Lion’s Arch and that was awesome!

I hope we get more information on Rytlock, the mists, and of course the god’s!

I also hope we keep going in a direction of being more adult in nature with the story and dialogue…no more kiddo stuff.

Guardian should get off hand dagger or full dagger dagger, which would be even better. The elementalist uses d/d and is magical. Guardians are magical warriors, so it makes sense. Daggers are often associated with magic.

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos about the Mandela Effect, so when logged into GW2 for some PvP action and saw this, I just about flipped! LOL

Sword 1: Good, maybe add poison

Sword 2: Make it a leap as well. Up the damage and range. Keep CD the same

I just finished the HoT story for the second time. I just want to say THANK YOU! Great job! The story and the story telling is far superior to the vanilla GW2 story! I am looking forward to Season 3 of the Living Story and your next expansion. I bought the $100 version, and I will do it again for the next expansion! Keep the fun coming! THANK YOU!

Birds for shoulder pads? Seriously? Listen, the ONLY awesome outfit was the Halloween one with the flaming skull and chest (not mad king, although that was cool too).

PLEASE make some bad kitten looking outfits that make me look evil! Stop with the skirts, flowers, and birds!

I also recommend that you study SWTOR’s cartel market. Look at the hundreds of armor sets that can be bought! Get your artists to work on more armor sets and/or outfits please.

We should be able to wear all sets of armor, light, medium, heavy for any class…but only for looks, not stats. GW2 isn’t like WoW where light armor has different stats than heavy armor. Berserker is Berserker, regardless of the weight. Even if there was a stat difference, I’m just talking about the Wardrobe. I would love to have my ele dressed up in heavy armor…just for looks.

Question 1:
So, I’m only going to make one ascended set. Should it be celestial or berserker for running raids?

Question 2:
Would celestial have enough toughness if I wanted to tank or should I just go knights for that?

League System Majorly Missed the Mark

The new players aren’t coming or are quickly driven away by being hammered in matches. I brought a guardian friend to pvp, after getting crushed 5v1 he vowed never to come back.

Anet could mitigate the damage somewhat by bringing back solo queue. In fact, I think all ranked matches should be solo queue. I haven’t pvp’d yet in GW1 but my understanding is that teams aren’t permitted?

If the intent were truly to be competitive and skill based, teams would be forbidden since they give a major advantage and conceal the weakness of individuals.

I’m no longer certain that ANET wants pvp to succeed.

A 5 vs 1 situation is L2P issue since only 2 things could of occured.

1) he ran into a point he was gonna get slaughtered at.

2) Team mates are either running in 1 by 1 or fighting at another point and lost therefore starting the snowball effect.

Both are L2P issues that deal understanding your class/build/team set up and not acting like a hero. PvE players typically do that to since you can kind of just run into mobs. Here in PvP land, its not so forgiving.

Everything > warrior, about time!

I mained a guardian since launch. I’ve always loved elementalist, but I was always better with the less squishy classes. Now, I’m loving the Tempest, and I am bored with the guardian and dragon hunter.

Diamond Skin does NOT need a nerf….learn to play. I’ve faced really good condition necros and have been owned as a Tempest.

Dear ArenaNet,

Please make or higher someone to make a trading post app for android and apple devices. It would be so nice to play the TP while at work or whenever I can’t play the game on my PC.

Also, you should check out the app for Destiny. That app allows players to see and share pvp/pve stats and access your inventory as well as send items from each toon you have without having to log out and switch characters while playing the game.

If only you had one app that did all this stuff…one app to rule them all….

Fiery Greatsword: keep the cooldown the same, BUT allow the player to keep it indefinitely until he or she switches weapons, which would then start the cooldown. PLUS, FG should change skills with each attunement just like any other weapon.

Play another class. I love the overload mechanic for its synergy and intended effect of giving the player a reason to stay in each attunement longer.

I used to main a guardian, but I don’t like the dragon hunter, so now I play the tempest and I’m loving it!

Water overload should chill within range of its healing radius and then leave a water field for blasting on, along with everything else it does.

Earth Overload, needs a larger radius and more potent bleeds.

To Those Who Think They Want A Megaserver

Now that we have guild halls. Let’s have actual guild wars in WvW. How about a megaserver that fixes the lag issues WvW has been plagued with, and fixes population problems, ensures highly populated WvW maps at all times, but the loyalty you speak of is to your player guild. Allow guilds to form alliances before each tournament when they register. Allow commanders RTS controls to communicate to ally players and guildies for strategy. Add a polit called system do guilds aren’t reliant on outside websites for negotiations and planning.

More players = more combat = more fun.

Okay, I’ve played mostly vanilla guardian, necromancer, and elementalist. Dragon Hunter is just plain fun, reaper is pretty cool, but I’m loving the tempest…

I now main a tempest using Knights Amulet in sPvP. For the longest time Warrior and Thief were the two classes that were the apex predators in sPvP, but now they’ve got to work a little harder and play like all the other vanilla classes did. Basically, those people who didnt play the OP classes of the past are now at a point where they are truly balanced. Those people playing warrior and thief crying for a nerf need to learn to play.

I just finished the story for HoT, and the end fight was epic! I will replay that end fight over and over…that seriously was a whole lot of fun! We should have more fights like that one! IT WAS REALLY AWESOME! THANK YOU!

Great storyline too! I truly enjoyed this experience and I hope the coming living season 3 will be just as good. I hope the story gets darker and darker with more characters dying off (except Rytlock).

From one writer to probably a team of writers: you need more Rytlock…his voice acting is superb, to say the least! He can be such a kitten and to develop a relationship between the player and Rytlock that is riddled with banter and respect would be very enjoyable. Something akin to the relationship between Legolas and Gimli in Lord of the Rings.

At times, there were options for some more dialogue and story depth, but characters would shrug off the dialogue….allow the player to indulge that, and avoid the silly dialogue that just seems out of character. Keep the mood and tone dark. You are alluding to Game of Thrones with your title, so follow suit.

All in all, very well done ArenaNet! I serious love where this story is going and I am excited to see more! Thank you!

Fireball? Auras? What's next!

The changes should be optional. This nerf is against the design philosophy of GW2. Wooden Potatoes justified this nerf in his recent video saying that we usually look at the player bar for the buffs and auras anyway. I completely disagree with this justification, because GW2’s design philosophy had always been for the player to react to the environment and visual cues…not to be staring at the UI! Plus, I can’t have every player or NPC targeted on order to see their buffs, auras, or debuffs at the same time!

This visual nerf is very bad for the game because it is directly opposing the original design philosophy that makes this game so great!

Sometimes I wonder…let’s not end this sentence.

Yes we did complain about FX for the past 3 years but about what FX did we complain exactly?

Certainly not:

- good looking idle animations
- visually appealing fireballs and skills that feel how they are called
- skills we can see and differentiate from one another

What we always screamed for was a FX fix for BIG bosses where certain effects scale into oblivion and clutter the whole screen (eg. Dwayna).

Also the huge FPS drops for FireFX, StormFX and other fps dumps could be tackled instead (eg. Maw).

Yet you remove visible auras that clutter little to nothing and instead go towards a GW1 approach where we had to look at status bars the whole time because we otherwise didn’t see what was going on. I always thought this was something you wanted to avoid in GW2.

You really want to tell me that invisible egg shells around players do anything at all..?

Do not twist feedback from your playerbase around just to justify your actions. Yes we asked for changed but definitly not these kind of changes.

Why not go the extra mile and show this kind of stuff before implementing it?
Why not go the extra mile and put this in as a choice?

It’s not just A-Net that loves this game – we do too – that’s why we care so much.

I think they do not get that most of the player base don’t care about e-sports and just want to have fun with friends. And what is there to watch? All the beautiful animations are dying. There’s nothing to watch.

Take the tinfoil hat off for just 2 seconds…..

It’s not about e-Sports, it’s about creating a more dynamic and easier to read combat. This applies to Raids and future content where the mobs do more than just face tank you.

Then if a player cannot see, it is up to them to correct that and they can turn their own spell effects down. I have never before witnessed devs purposefully making graphics worse in their own game. If I like to play solo a majority of the time, why do I need reduced “visual noise?” (What an obnoxious term.) The answer is that I don’t. If I chose to do raids or anything else that requires a large number of players, I’d turn my settings down like I have done in the past with WoW, CoH, or the original GW. The developers need to recognize that this is hurting the game and will cause people to leave.

Dear ArenaNet,

I understand the desire to tone down the particle effect for visual clarity. BUT PUT THE AURAS BACK THE WAY THEY WERE! This is egregiously insulting to the beautiful eye candy they once were! I created and played HoT with an elementalist, breaking away from my guardian, mostly for how awesome the auramancer looked!

The wind has just been sucked out of my sails…to put that in perspective, I bought the $100 version of HoT. I LOVE this game, but recent changes like this one are killing it! Video games are ART, please SAVE your ARTWORK and stop this nerfing madness!

PLEASE STOP THE VISUAL NERFS! LET EACH PLAYER CHOOSE HIS OR HER VISUAL PREFERENCES!

Honest Question, What's Wrong?

The new maps were advertised as having areas with strategic relevance and towers you couldn’t just sidestep or ignore entirely. However, the areas have even less strategic relevance than they did on the old maps, which wasn’t even really a whole lot then either. The towers are in isolated corners of the map, which is something they specifically advertised the exact opposite of.

All of the sudden drop offs, and corridors severely inhibit fights, rather than encouraging them. All of the gimmick mechanics, such as the shrine buffs and the center event cheapen the overall experience as well. The center event also causes a great deal of lag.

I was very excited about the mechanics, bit it is irrelevant if nobody is playing. Could the low population be due to everyone playing the new PvE jungle maps and earning masteries?

Is there gliding in the new WvW maps?

Your outfits are fun, but limiting. Let there be a gem store upgrade that allows the player to convert outfits to armor pieces so we can mix and match. Mixing and matching various armor sets to create your own is a tremendous amount of fun. Outfits are great, but please give us to option to modify them via the awesome wardrobe system you have implemented. Plus, you can make money this way.

I know what Anet is trying to do…they want to make the game easier to watch for raids and esports, but this is the dumbest animation change ever! Give us back the fireball!

OR, make it so that everybody else sees the matchstick instead of fireball, while those who are playing the ele still see the fireball animation on our toons!

Action-Combat is great! The white dot for a crosshair is ugly. Please give the option to have different shaped crosshairs or to not have one at all. You could even sell different types of crosshairs in the gem store.

I think the new elite is an attempt by ArenaNet to provide the ele with an ability to overcome the excessive cooldowns on the utilities inherent to this profession. Good idea, put it needs polish. It should just simple recharge all three utility slots. Then, it would be awesome!

Suggestions

Thank you Anet for the recent changes to the elementalist. The profession has much more build variety than before. With that said, here are some suggestions:

1. Make ground targeting an option. For example, Blink should just blink you forward whatever direction you are facing, but if you want to use ground targeting, let it be an option that can be selected by right clicking on the skill. That way all players can play the way they want to play.

2. Dagger 3, Earth: just make this a leap please. Get rid of the “throw a rock” step. This skill is too slow and bugged, just simplify it. Keep it simple, make it a leap that immobilizes.

3. Let us swap weapons. Keep the attunements as they are. It is irritating to continually run around with my inventory open so I can switch between staff and d/d. Engineer should be able to weapon swap too.

4. You decreased the cooldowns on some skills, just do the same for all utility skills, such as catrips. Using traits to reduce cooldown times is a waste. Just make the cooldowns lower and make the traits more meaningful. It seems you are doing this with the shouts! Now please do it with the rest of the utility skills.

5. Undo Tornado Nerf. Make the Tornado a Sharknado! Lol!

Warhorn should be taken out of the game entirely and replaced with an actual weapon…like a whip or anything! Don’t even change the skillls, just replace warhorn with some other weapons skin.

Ele really should have gotten a sword, why Anet would harm their expansion by kittenting on ele players is beyond me. I would have even loved an axe! Anything is better than a stupid stupid stupid warhorn! Seriously now! Who is responsible for this stupid desicion?!?

I was going to prepurchase for $100, but I might not even bother getting the expansion now. Wtf Anet! Stop screwing up easy kitten!

Anet, this is a business, so start catering to your customers! Obviously you knew the ele players wanted a sword, so you give us a warhorn! What are you thinking? WTF? Get whoever worked on Chronomamcer over on ele!
