Thing is im an engi, my big backpacks covers small back items that are ususaly in the middle.

Sort of new to the game and reached max 80 with COF set/etc and now im looking for a back item, thinking of getting Prototype Fractal Capacitor, will it take long? COF only took me like 5 days.

I fell a few times in EOTM thanks to rocket boots , for some reason sometimes when you land you can go sideways… maybe when you hit a rock or an itme it alters your direction

Ha that’s what I thought at first " this class is way too hard for me, I think imma just switch" till I reach level 80 and actualy run dungeons, sure I broke a few of my fingers due to kit swapping but engi such a fun class to play. Im no great engineer but I know the basics/builds. Keep leveling, try EOTM if you are sick and tired of hearts, your free pass to level 80.

That is my build, i previously was 6/6/0/0/2 but changed for some nore defense and i am liking it. I mostly do wvw zerg and that is the intention of the build mostly because i heard Engi suck in dungeons so not going to even waste money on gearing it full zerk. Anyway is this build good?

I like the FT but i didn’t seem to be using it much, if i get close to melee range in zergs i die. So instead i changed to rocket boots.

Also if i do decide to use my engi on dungeon, what should i do? what is my role. Any videos of how to zerg or dungeon with engis would be nice

My build is 6/6/0/0/2 for PVE and dungeon runs, build is mostly stacking bleeds/crits/vulnerabality(precision is always nice)

I use rifle , 3 and 5 is realy powerfull, use 2 afterwards> grenades (pretty self explanatory)> elixir gun (4) and quickly swap to cancel knockback>flame thrower (2 i s used a lot, but again pretty self explanatory)>go back to nades till CD for rifle is done and repeat.

Sometimes I switch to bombs for auto because my ’nade spamming finger is tired/hurting. Having more APM than any other class for dungeons sucks sometimes.

I feel you, its challenging and fun but it hurts me at the same time

Where is it at on the vendor section? Living story rewwards? Ascended Gear?

Is the gas mask still obtainable? Wiki says you can buy it from a vendor??

The shots on the wiki are of the full set, with chestpiece. When wearing the CoF chestpiece, your shoulders are hidden.

Those are in fact CoF shoulders. Go visit the token merchant and preview them if you don’t believe it

Sorry for my enourmous amount of posts, I am a new player and just reached level 80 (im officialy cool now)

Iv heard a lot engineers are not wanted in dungeons/kicked a lot, so I was wondering should a newbie like me try out dungeons? I know how to combo my skills for max dps (theres a build ive been following for PVE). Only thing I do not realy can do is using a smoke bomb finisher (makes you invis) otherwise such as healing turrets finishers I know how to use them.

Shold I go for it? I dont want to make other people fall behind because of me

ofcourse ELEs or any classes that can remove condis are a great counter to condi classes and condi can be great if the enemy do not have a remove skill.

Condi ofcourse has more survibability unlike Celestial where your only block is the toolkit or rocketjump/bomb kit.

What build I should use for PVP/WVW and PVE?

I’ve been wondering about blast finishers, how do they work? For example The healing turret for engi has a blast finishers, what do I need to do to activate the blast finishers after putting it down?

WHO NEEDS 2TB OF SPACE, prioritize your GPU/CPU>mobo>ram>the rest. You could run the game better if you buy a cheaper HDD and buy a better GPU. Honestly you dont need 2tb of space, I have a 1 tb HD and I only used 200gb of it.

Hearts are an awful way to level up. They are both slow and boring.

EOTM is faster though arguably duller.

I would recommend leveling by exploring, gathering WPs, PoIs, and easy Vistas. Gather and kill along the way while doing every Dynamic Event you can and you’ll level quickly.

Get a few friends together and you’ll see more events and get more experience doing stuff.

Edit: I should mention if you’re only level 20, STAY AWAY FROM EOTM. You’ll hit 80 and know nothing about your class. The Guild Wars 2 subreddit has a ton of guides and suggestions as well.

Well I was thinking that I will level with EoTM most of the time or so, I will be exploring the map aswell such as discovering skill points/world bosses/events/exploring new wp and more but probably not going to do a lot of hearts because as you said some of them are exremely boring and uninteresting. I know most of engineer’s skills/builds/utilities/finisher/etc I already havve a build in mind. I am fammiliar with the basics of other classes,etc. I did a lot of research for other classes and espcially eng this weekend in vacation, where I can not play GW for the time being.

Do you think its fine if I start now? if not when should I try EoTM since Im mostly iterested in the loot and XP.

Which one is more efficient to level up? Hearts and map completion are always good but never tried edge of the mists and ice heard its good for levelling up. I’m currently level 20 engi and planning to just join a Zerg in Edge of the mists instead of roaming.

I would be very grateful if they remove boxers/panties/underwears. *wink wink

If the look of your character is important to you go with any race besides asura (regardless of class choice, if you choose engineer I’d strongly suggest you re roll your engineer).

A lot of the armor customizations become trivial during a lot of content when your not always zoomed in. You can make your asuras quite large but imo that kind of ruins the race.

True, but if you compare to other races especialy charr they dont look “good” in medium armour too. I find asuras fine and have no realy big deal with them

To the OP, Gw2 is a non traditional MMO they have clarified that there is NO TRINITY SYSTEM which makes it unique, if you want trinity system there are tons of MMOs out there but rarely any good ones currently (F2p Mmos are just grind grind grind, typical Korean MMO)

Does not matter until your a high level and have a specific trait in mind, for example you want a crit build and your character trait offers you more crit chance,etc you want to level up precision and put points into the crit chances at your characther trait.

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately my download speed for gw2 is 100kb/sec, going to take me a couple of days perhaps 3-5 to actualy pay the game, and by then Im returning to Canada. Essentially there is no point downloading it on this laptop.

Why not both? Give em a try. It’s pointless to ask random people on the forum what they think if, you know what you enjoy to play. Ultimately you play this game for fun, right?

Engineer requires a higher APM to play properly, for some that’s a turn off for others that’s the part that makes it more fun.

There is one thing you need to consider greatly. Engineers are sorely lacking in cosmetics. Using kits is a must and when you do your equipped weapon(s) disappear and a standardized kit backpack replaces whatever you have equipped in your backslot.
As a result any cool weapons or back pieces you might gather and want to show off will most of the time, while actively playing, be invisible and you will look at standard skins. The same skins from lv1 to lv80, used by every Engineer.
Or no skins at all in case of the bomb kit and grenade kit, which lack a weapon animation and only have a backpack.

So if you are someone who likes to spend time on customizing a character to look cool and enjoy what you got and cobbled together, than I’d strongly recommend against Engineer.

Problem is warrior is pretty dull, I have to say the same goes for guardian however they got cool looking armours unlike us engineers. Engineers are pretty fun In terms of skills,kits,utilities, unlike warriors where most of the utilities are buffs that are not interesting. This is based on my opinion however, finally comes down to good looking gear and plain/straightforward skills or fun and challenging character that can be rewarding but in return a mediocre to poor looking gear.

-Some armour is pretty decent looking (COF/dungeon armours mostly) but some of it looks unattractive compared to heavy armour(Crafted armous/loot/etc)
-Asuras are small making them less noticable, people will most likely ignore you (let’s say you got a legendary on an Asura) they can look “adorable” though.
-No motivation to craft a lot/get gear besides a few couple of them, in a nutshell not the best armour.
-Engineer is a harder class to use which makes it chalenging which I like, but some people might hate it.

I went Asura Engi, I went with Aetherblade chest (and honestly most of what you see is the chest with the trenchcoats.

LOVE engineer play, kind of hate the Warrior play.

Lately my play has been Engineer> Thief>>Ele>>>>War/Guard. Engineer is just so fun.

I personally think medium armor for engineer does not look the best but it is decent, I picked an asuna as an engineer I personaly enjoy tool switching makes the game more fun with cool animations. I also have a charr warior class, from what I’ve seen for skills on warrior they are pretty dull and simple unlike engineers which makes the game less interesting but they got cool looking gears compared to medium armour and asuras are less noticeable in my opinion what characther would you guys pick? An asuna engineer or a charr Warior?

Let’s say I’m an engineer which means I wear medium armour, I want to use the skin of the cof light helmet skin instead of the medium helmet armour skin. Is it possible that I unlock the light armour skin and use it?
