So i forced myself to play WvW so i could do this achievement. I some how used all my finishers and only have credit for 8 out 20….

What am i to do now? How can i get these finishers? I tried to go back in to the Labyrinth but NO ONE IS IN THERE!!! So i sat there trying to kill most of the mobs in there and still nothing…. got bored and disconnected.

Can i get these finishers any place else?

Seems some people didn’t do their personal stories.

I did but have not been able to finish because well i guess i suck and cant get close to the dungeon on my Ele.

Plus i have never been to my home instance since the start of my story soo long ago.

The finishers have a high drop rate in the labryth. I have around 300 finishers (mad king and scarecrow) all from farming that for a few hours.

I have been playing this for about 2 hours a night and i have only seen 1 drop for this finisher….. So i guess you got all mine.

Plus i have never used a finisher before and never did PVP or WVW so i’m not sure if i’ll be able to do this one.

This item makes no sense to me. I went to Queensdale. (I’m human) and i double clicked on it. It should show me a node where i clicked it, but nothing….. so am i supposed to search queensdale for this node that i just created?

No, it is the 2nd Email after you start the LS.

You are right. I believe it says go to the Labyrinth. I might have missed that part. BUT what threw me off was the email you get from him. It has a SHOW ME BUTTON.

I click it and it gives me the WP of the Black Citadel. That is where my confusion was. I thought i had to do something in the Black Citadel…..

i was confused at the start. I left the instance and talked to the communicator. The communicator didn’t really tell me anything. I think i might have clicked on the same email that i did that took me there because when i hit show me it took me back to the black citadel.

Being new i did not realize that to follow the story you go by achievements. I thought there was more to do in the black citadel since this is where the instance started.

He then tells me to get a candy corn elemental. Well i have killed plenty of those.

I’m not saying hold my hand. I’ll know for next time that the Living Story is just achievements.

So i know i’m new to the game (2months) but was i the only one confused on what to do?

I start out in the black citadel. I fight the Bloody Prince. I then leave that room and the guy tells me to go find him a candy corn elemental. It then tells me nothing else. I sat there trying to find out if i had to do anything at the blackcitadel but i eventually just went to Queensdale and started farming in the ghost doors.

I find the lack of direction disturbing. Why do i have to leave the game to go read up on the event on some 3rd party site. Just give me a bit more direction. I guess it’s just me and most MMO people know they have to do research before playing.

yea i can’t see the point of this unless all 3 of the Downed people are sitting next to each other. I guess with fire it allows me to rez someone and then next time i fall i am rezed right away.

I just find it so much faster to rez the person manually instead of this.

I run ele with all valkryie armor. For more Dps i use FGS as much as i can. I will even use frost bow. and one time i added Flaming Axe when i felt others weren’t doing much DPS.

You are fighting this boss fight the way i like, taking out Slick first. I hate spending time killing sparki only to die on slick. People will fight you on stacking up on slick but it really helps control the oil.

Once you kill slick, killing sparki should be easy. I know the few times i died after killing slick was because we were all very low health at the time of slicks death but other than that if slick is down you should with this fight.

i really don’t understand this glyph. I might have to google it because when i use it, nothing happens. Can i not use it on a player that is dead? I’ve also ran up to someone on the ground who wasn’t dead yet but downed and ( i was set to fire so that i can come back if i fall) used the glyph of renewal…..nothing happened so i bent down and resurrected them.

I’m not sure what is going on, but that is how the last 3 times have gone for me. I know it has worked a few times but i have to be doing something wrong. At first i thought i was just out of range, but the last 3 times i made sure i ran next to them.

Also the spawn time is way to long for this to be helpful.

I enjoy my Ele. It is my main. I had no idea how to play the game and learning to survive with a ele taught me a good amount.

At first i enjoyed this, but now i can’t stand it. Having to wait 1.5 hours to setup before the fight just wastes time that i could be enjoying the game.

Scaling it up for the 2 weeks was great, but you should lower it again as it is a pain to get everyone organized to fight him. I fought and beat Teq again last night but i think it will be my last as i can have a better time in a dungeon and get a better reward for my 1 hour of play time instead of the 2 hours of setting up/fighting Teq.

It took me 4 hours the first time it came out. It was also the first dungeon i have ever done. Since then i am running it in 1 hour to 1.5 hours.

Once you learned all the mechanics to it, its not that hard. Some people make it harder than it is….

I guess i won’t be able to run with you in the dungeon. Not all of us know exactly how to play. I am new to MMOs. Everything i pickup is from doing things wrong and then reading about it. I just started a Gaurdian and i’m learning on the go. I have no idea what i’m doing but hey i didn’t know what i was doing when i started my Ele and i think i have gotten much better.

The point is stop crying about other players not knowing what they are doing. Instead ask your friends to run the dungeons with you or find a group of people that run dungeons like you do and try to join up with them.

If you don’t and you randomly pick up people to play with you why not help them out instead of bashing them. Maybe they don’t live to play GW2 or other MMOs. Maybe they are learning.

Well, I have never done a dungeon in Gw2. Hell, i’m still new to MMO. I really am learning as i go. I spent 4 hours last night and i couldn’t get past the final boss. By that time it was 2am and one of the people with us said that he would have a friend join if i had to go. Which i did leave.

I know it was my fault since i don’ t have experience with dungeons but it was new so i did it. The people i joined with were nice and it was their first run so they had no problems with me.

We were able to do the ooze right, We were able to kill Slick than Sparki ( that did take a few good tries) Each time we learned what worked better. Had a few hick-ups here and there but i was so tired by the time i got to clockheart that i was done.

Sad thing is i’m not sure if anyone is going to want to put up with my lack of skill going forward as many of you have been successful and are prob running it in a hour less now.

how do you know no one has done it faster? Because they aren’t running in here to post it? Really, it has been so easy to Take down Teq. Most DPS groups are using Elemental Dust and Mortar kits. You are burning him after each event and he never attacks again.

Great job though, but i’m sure others have done it just as fast. Unless there is a stat someplace that i don’t know know about that keeps track.

Remember, don’t go by the forums to see how people like this game. Most of the people that go to gaming forums only go to complain.

I am really enjoying this game. Its true, i have only been playing for a month and half but it takes up a good amount of my time. Most of the time i have no idea what items i need to get but the fun part is figuring that out.

When i started i had no idea what the LS was. I didn’t start realizing what was going on till the end of the Queen’s speech. This time i was way more involved with Tequatl and have been having a blast. I spent all my gold on exotic Valkryie armor for my Ele to the point it took me a few days to get enough gold to finish it. At that time i was broke but then i was able to beat Teq each of the last 3 days and i’m already back up to 10g witch is good because i haven’t been doing any other farming since i’ve been busy.

So to sum up, the more i learn, the more fun it gets for me.

I am still enjoying it. I just need that stupid Tail Fail. I tried standing under him last night to get and nothing… I have killed him 3 times so far.

That is why our commanders go to overflow and invite people who are in TS. This way the people aren’t afk. We have been able to beat him the last 3 days in a row in 1 try.

i am also doing it daily. I have been able to beat him the last 3 times in a row so it is a good amount of money and items you get.

Yea i got mine last night. I started at East. Killed some. Next event i went to North. Killed some. Last event i went to West. Killed some.

Checked after beating Tequatl and i had the power play.

again beat it last night. Dragonbrand server. Join Teamspeak. We always fight on a overflow to avoid AfKers. Joining Teamspeak and you will get invited to the overflow.

Join Dragonbrand server and then join our Teamspeak. Well organized. They have beat it many times so far and i got to beat Teq last night and i have no idea how to play this game.

I believe i made around 2 to 3 gold after beating him last night after selling all of those blues and greens. I also got 3 Rare items and 1 exotic ring(i did not sell).

I was satisfied with what i got. My ring is only worth 1.3 gold if i wanted to git rid of it.

Oh, i should point out that i mainly play PvE. So would you say Staff is more of a healing weapon? I do like damage but i can switch back and forth with what i am trying to do. Should i go back to D/D or go S/F for damage?

I’m still new to this game and have never been much of a MMO player. I played GW1 but i was a ranger and i had people that would tell me what to do.

This time around i have been doing it all on my own (Except for what i have read online). I have only been playing for a month and half. I have a level 80 Ele now.

I was using a D/D build going 0/10/0/30/30. I was running with full Rare Zerker gear. After starting Teq i felt i needed to upgrade my armor. I started to buy valkyrie armor. I have most of it but ran out of money. I also switched to a Staff (which seems very hard now compared to d/d)

Did i make the right move with valkyrie armor? I have also never played any dungeons so i don’t get any good drops. I mainly take down SB every day and do some zerg runs but i don’t play hours per day.

So to sum it up:

Is there a good build for Staff? Or did i just waste money on it?
Did i make the right call buying exotic valkyrie armor?
(i have no upgrades yet as i don’t know what i should buy there)
Should i stick with 0/10/0/30/30?

As a new play to the game ( only 1 and half months in) what exotic do you recommend that i spend my money on? I was a D/D ele but switched to a exotic staff while playing Teq. I am in full rare but i’m ready to start spending on exotic. I have been farming SB but haven’t been lucky enough to find any exotic. Also i’m setup like this 0/10/0/30/30.

Also i only play about 1 to 2 hours a night since well life gets in the way

The way it worked before i could deposit gold into my bank. This money was available to all of my Alts which was great but only if they went to the bank and did a withdraw.

Now with the wallet all my money is available to all my alts at any given time. Here is the problem with that. My so who is 9 doesn’t really know how to play games like this yet but likes to try. Not normally a problem. He had his gold and i had mine. But now my gold is his gold.

Please bring back the classic mode or allow us to turn the wallet on or off. Wallet would be great if i was the only one playing on my account but with the kid involved i have lost a great deal of money. I have talked with him about the gold issue but i’m always worried he is going to just spend it all.
