WvW is so “casual” it has absolutely 0 skill ceiling.
If you are a group of 4, you shouldn’t be able to get attacked by a group have more than 4 people. It’s not fair. People should’t be able to win fights because they have more friends, MAKE IT FAIR.
I laugh every time someone mentions skill in WvW.
Skill is beating a higher rank player or winning a 4v8 fight.
Doubleclicking twice when your enemy cast something long is not skill.
Funny thing is, people are against Realm ability system because it would make WvW unfair. Some people just defend the game for the sake of it.
WvW is an extremely dumbed down version of daoc and its not funny

What pisses me off is every kitten mob have some kind of cc, if i pull more than 2 i am basicly kitten since i will only get perma cced to death, i can run past them because they will pull me, blink on me, knock me back or slow me. Its ridiculous and boring.
I really dont like 4 different maps eighter. A big continuus map would be 10x better but its too late for that i guess.

WvW zones are too small as they are, objectives are too close together. i understand you don’t want 20 min travel times in daoc but thats not how you solve it. A single zerg controls everything no roaming groups no small mans nothing. Yes you can form a small group and try to capture objectives but its pointless since they can capture it back immedietaly.
Killing someone means nothing since they can just join in under 1 minute(not even bothering with everyone can res crap)
WvW zones must be atleast twice of this size.
Player vs camera. Since the camera is the only challenge in it.

-Do you need dungeon waypoints?
-Are there any pois/vistas in jumping puzzles?
-Are there any hidden places? Where can i find a list of them?

So whats the problem if you are winning during primetime and losing when you sleep?
Who cares wheter they win the 7day battle if you can win fights during your playtime?
Winning a match means absolutely nothing.
Dont compare WvW with daoc, only numbers win in this game unlike daoc where you can practicly beat 40 50 people with just 8.

I really like my engineer in close range but pretty useless at long range. Grenades are unreliable at long range (except sieges) and our only long range weapon only has 1 long range skill (net wont hit any target at 1200 range unless they are afk) I can’t think of any suggestions that can make engi good in long range without making it godlike in melee, but i would like to see some improvements.
Arrow carts has longer range.

No, they should incrase it or add other penalties for dying like res sickness or something.
I am not talking about techinal issues, I am sure they are aware of that. But I would like to know what do they think about zergs, personal progression and impersonation in WvW.
You you see WvW as a minigame or do you want people to play it for long years as they did in Daoc? Do you have plans for a Darkness Falls expansion?
I wouldnt ask this on a blizzard etc forums, but anet seems to respect their customers and share their vision with us usually.

I wholehearthedly agree with darkness falls (it was the best and most brilliant content ever in any mmo) and wholeheartedly disagree about wvw size. Currently a single(or 2) zergs are enough to control all map because all objectives are next to each other. WvW should highly encourage lots of small groups working as a team for victory (of course you need some personal incentives for that). WvW size should be much much bigger and we need larger areas for group fights without losing team can resign to nearest keep.

Bgs are already too small and there is no penalty for dying. This is not a deathmatch game.
Borderlands should be enlargened by a factor of 2-3 and eternal battleground by a factor of at least 4. WvW is too cluttered.
I disagree, and if you view the WvW discussion on Guru you can see it’s plenty personal. The rivalry is at a server and guild level, as it should be for WvW.
However, as Guru even foreshadows, when people get personal it can get ugly.
I remember in WoW PvP some people would rage to the degree they would log onto your server just to insult you. No thanks, I much prefer how GW2 handles it with anonymity.
I like how it is now, because it’s not like sPvP where everyone looks exactly the same. We still have our unique dyes and gear. I can still identify enemy players by their appearance and remember them from match to match. I think it’s just personal enough to have rivalry, but it doesn’t enable inflammatory immature attacks by being able to fully identify someone.
If someone logs on your server and start raining kitten on you that means you did something right. Whats wrong with it? You can just ignore and report him,People get banned for saying “kitten” on public chat, they don’t stand a chance.
1) I don’t think its inteded it should be fixed soon
2)I love mobs in pvp zones, it feels alive they are mostly neutral towards you anyways
3)Classes may be balanced around spvp, you can never ever balance huge scale fights on individual scale, daoc was incredibly imbalanced at 1v1 but it was pretty good at 8v8 fights.
4)Keeps etc are upgradable but agreed for others.
5)I don’t like it eighter but not that bad.
6)It only ruins 1vX fights, you kill one and he just comes back into fight, almost impossible to win against multiple enemies even though you “downed” them.
There is no such thing as casual pvp(unless there is corpse looting), its eighter boring or not. Its boring now.
I don’t like neon names neighter. But combat log-names is a must have. WvW feels like pve right now. There is nothing wrong with hate and rivaliry in a pvp game, it shows how good the game and immersion is.
Bgs are just too small for things to work like daoc.
Daoc has massive frontiers and speed only applied your own group (unless you got some artifact but it wasn’t so common i guess) It heavily encouraged teamplay (yet it was also zergy).
Anet made it so casual its like playing in a ponyland.

Darkness falls would be great, it would make wvw slightly meaningful.
Make it level 40-80 with some endgame content and slightly better renown heart exp.
WvW is not and cannot be competitive, go play spvp if you want that

And you know, its ungodly stupid to tell people play a certain way instead of giving incentive to play that way. People will zerg, because its easiest way to kill people and telling them NO THIS IS NOT FUN is not gonna change anything.

-Enlarge bgs with a factor of 3
-Buff swiftness duration/effectiveness out of combat
-Swiftness only apply to your own group
-Introduce some kind of RP system
-No/less rp unless you or your group killed an enemy
-Put a huge banner at portal keeps that say "WVW IS NOT COMPETITIVE, PLEASE BREAK THE ILLUSION OF “SKILL”.
Why would i care about supplys, defending/losing a keep or loosing the battle? You don’t win/lose anything at all. Only fun thing is killing people and currently zerg is the most efficent way to do it.
The problem is there is no incentive to play as a party.
Frontiers should have been 3x larger and swiftness bonuses only apply to your group=roaming groups.
Elementalists can destroy careless enemies in 3-4 seconds in sieges/zerg surfing.
WvW has nothing to do with competitive. And this is a kitten mmo, skill cap is really low.
Noone is asking for pve grind to be effective in pvp. We are asking some ranking or MINOR stat bonuses on individual scale. Not grinding items.

i made this thread to tell people its possible to implement a wvw progression system without grinding/snowballing/imbalancing but some fanboys are eighter tookittenstupid or they are trolling =>
Daoc-like rp system is needed.
WvW is fun for a short time but then it gets old and boring.
I hope anet doesn’t care about fanboys keep yelling NO ITS FUN WE DONT WANT REWARDS because its human nature. We do.
