@laucupan so what you are saying is that you would rather go back to your bank every time your bags are full and hope you remembered you put the cfsm back in your bank from the last character you used it on instead of buying one cfsm and a shared inventory spot for almost the price of 2 cfsm. Yes you can multiply the value of a shared spot by the value of the item you put in it times how many characters you have if you do not want the inconvenience of returning to your bank every time you need an from another character.

@Aedelric What I am saying is not that you can’t have an opinion but that if you don’t want to pay for a shared slot then don’t pay for it and just don’t have one. The seller of an item can set the price to whatever they want and if you don’t think the value of the item or service is worth the price then you don’t have to pay for it, and if not enough people buy it then the seller may lower the price to get more sales. If however you do want a shared inventory spot then suck it up and buy one without complaining. This is how capitalism works and people need to stop whining about it.

I am in no way siding with Anet or agreeing with the price. I too think they are expensive, I just happen to find enough value in the service of having instant access to items across all characters to pay that expensive price to get it.

First, everyone needs to stop complaining about the price of the shared inventory slots. Think of it this way, a copper-fed salvate-o-matic is 800 gems x9 for all my toons is 7200 gems. A single shared inventory slot + a salvage-o-matic is 1500 gems so right there I am saving 5700 gems. If you really don’t want to front 700 to 2800 gems for something this useful then don’t buy them and just keep playing the game as you were.

Second, a question for Anet, now that we have shared inventory slots what am I supposed to do with the other 3 of the 4 salvage-o-matics I have? Can you either refund them now that they are useless or at least make them not account bound so I can mail them to friends?

Third, would it be possible to lock the shared slots at the top of the inventory so when I scroll down through the rest of my bags those slots are always showing on top? Kinda like in excel when you freeze the top row of a sheet.

The way anet messed up fractals 30 gets the same daily chest as 24. They now run 21-30 31-40 etc so if you did 30 and 31 you would get two different dailies.

Unless they said they kicked you a kick may not have happened, I have had several instances in fractals where the entire party gets kicked to include the instance owner and it was not due to any players just a bug in a very crappy system. If it was a kick though there is really nothing you can do about it, my advice would be to either make sure you are the one that opens the instance or never join a pug.

Now that I have calmed down it is time for a serious post on this update. The fractured update has many problems with the way it is being handled, and if it gets released the way it is currently, it will cause me and most likely many others that have invested hundreds if not a thousand plus hours in fractals to quit. So here is a way to release all of your new content and make the players happy at the same time.

1. Get rid of the Leaderboards: I am willing to bet that 90% or more of the players scale 50+ do not care if there is a leaderboard because we do not play for recognition or rewards but rather for satisfaction and challenges. As far as the players at lower levels if a higher rank on a leaderboard is the only reason they are doing higher levels then they are likely to not be at the caliber required to play at that skill level and will make it much harder for the people who should be there. Even if you do add leader boards how is it fair to the veteran players that put in the hard work and time to get to where they are if you roll them back down to the people who did not put in the same hard work and time. The players currently on top put in the time to climb to where they are so would you blow up the mountain that they worked so hard to climb only to make them climb another one. The 50 levels that people at 80 would be loosing is 62.5% of their work, this would be about like stealing 62.5% of someones paycheck, house, car… etc because the person next to them did not take the time to earn it as well, and I know some of you are going to say that this is just a game and not real life but it is the principle that matters not where it is being done. There where no resets done in PvP or Achievement Points when those leaderboards came out so why should there be with this update.

2. Do not reset anyone’s fractal level: If you are rolling back fractal levels for the point of fairness on the leaderboard then first, see point 1 and second, how is this fair to the players that put in the hard work and time to get to where they are. The only way to fairly strip everyone down to 30 would be to instead strip everyone of 50 levels period no matter their current level, this is the only way to treat everyone fairly in this situation. However instead of stripping people of their hard earned levels, just add the new special Mistlock Instability at scale 50 along with any other content that you plan to add at 30 and leave the players that have a level of over 50 where they are. Most of those high level players will go back to 50 anyway to learn the new content and then will slowly work their way back up.

3. Leave the Agony Resistance the way it is: The way AR is at the moment does not need to change, instead just add ascended armor with a +5 infusion slot. This will allow people to get to 85 AR which should allow them to eventually get to scale 80 which is the current cap anyway. If someday you want to set the fractal cap above 80 you can then add the ability to create an endless infusion that people can add +1 to as they collect them on their runs. The best way I can see of implementing this would be to have a mystic forge recipe for adding +1 at a time to amulets… something like how you currently infuse a ring on the forge.

I personally spent around 60 hours getting my fractal level from 50 to 68 so that I would be able to try 58 and 68 on the first day of this release. However if you where to implement the Fractured update in this way, yes I would still try them on day one but… I would then start back at level 50 and work my way back up to learn the new content. This is also the only method I can see to both release your entire update (minus the useless leaderboards) while still being fair to all players and keeping your veteran players from quitting the game.

Don’t get me wrong, I love that you are adding new fractals and increasing the difficultly and the new rewards are nice as well. But screwing over your player base is not the way to release an update.

Please feel free to post any comments or suggestions as to how this could be better handled but this is not a thread to rage at this obvious utter failure so remember to keep it civil.

Binding autotargeting to a hot key?

Does anyone know of a way to bind Autotargeting to a hot key? I use it on all me characters that primarily use range or need a target to attack i.e. mesmer but then have to turn it off again for melee characters like warrior. I also end up having to turn it on and off a lot in dungeons when I get ele weapons. It gets to be a pain going into the options menu while running a dungeon or even worse forgetting that it is off and running into combat when I need it.

I’m not sure if this is even possible to do but if anyone has found a way please let me know.

Suggestion: Make it so we can categorize the friends list into custom groups.

This would help a lot since half my friends list is people I have added for doing fotm 60+ and the other half is people I meet from around the game. Most of the other half does not even do fractals and it is getting very hard to tell which ones do and which ones don’t.

Please make it so people on your block list can not join your party. This would include joining via the LFG tool. I posted on the lfg tool today for a specific class and ended up having to kick a troll that joined us over 20 times in a row that was just trying to get a rise out of us.

And what about people that have found their way onto guild blacklists because they suck at the game and get their party killed all the time? How would you keep the system from auto joining them into someones party.

This would be a horrible idea because you would not be able to set requirements on what classes and builds you want in your group.

I didn’t notice the chest loot disappear as well but I was so mad about not getting my daily chest due to glitchnet that I didn’t even look. I hope this gets fixed soon so I can get back to fractals.

The cliffside fractal is quite easy to complete, I have done it at least 2 dozen times at 48 and 3 times at that level where someone messes up and kills the target. You just have to have a few zerker wars and be quick.

We need a title for completing all the jumping puzzles, I’m thinking “Jump Master” but am open to suggestions as to what it should be.

And second one is a title for the Thirst Slayer achievement, I mean come on it takes 100K drinks that is ether 80g or 700k karma. I am thinking either “Carouser”, “Town Drunk”, or “Alcoholic”.

It seems like such a waist to sell useless ascended rings to a merchant so why not give us the ability to salvage them for a pristine relic and a chance at some ecto. Or maybe let us put them on the Mystic Toilet for a chance at a fractal weapon skin, a different ring, or even a chance at a random precursor.

People stopped doing CoE for one reason and one reason only… you can no longer 3in1. The ability to 3in1 a run in 40min let people, that knew how to run it, farm faster than CoF. Now that this is not possible CoF is faster and there is no more reason to farm CoE.

I however would not mind a passive +5 to +10% speed buff, it would make it so I do not have to equip my Rune of the Traveler set every time I do a jumping puzzle for the +5% passive speed.

I personally think the Mesmer has enough speed as it is, between Temporal Curtain and Blink I am able stay in the front of my guild on Wv3. The only problem I have with it is that Temporal Curtain does not stack with other speed boosts if you have one on you. And if you are worried about people running back and forth in the curtain just make it so you can only boost once off each curtain… but PLEASE make it so it can stack with other speed boots.

I agree with the original poster 100%, I had to log out 1.5 hours into the final event because I had to go to work. This game should not be tailored towards the people who ether have no life or just happen to be lucky enough to be able to make it to the event.

There was nothing and is nothing op about the mesmer portals in wvw because every guild/server has the ability to use them. How about you all stop complaining that someone else learned how to play the game correctly and do so yourself. If everyone has the same advantage it is not longer considered an advantage it is only normal tactics.
