use ipconfig/flushdns on cmd, worked for me.

i did it and nothing has changed still not working for us in SEA. i dont know why.

Try using Google’s DNS. One of their CDNs probably changed IPs, which can take 24+ hours to propagate to slower DNS providers.

Also delete all gw2cache-* folders located under %temp%, in case it cached a bad response.

I setup my DNS back after opening GW2 and TP then closing GW2, and it still work after. Thanks.

SEA player here and I am having the same issue, it’s kinda annoying. It’s the previous patch that did it. I hope this fix this soon.

Honestly, I don’t care if they give refunds but it set a dangerous precedence that they will have to continue doing so upon fixing prices or whatever else they feel like changing in the future.

actually I don’t care if they give refund or not also, I’m just playing along because of the irony people post here.

yeah 150 is not that much, now that probably have made you wonder why people complain about versatile price if that’s what you think.

btw maintaining versatile’s price and removing the simple infusion from the vendor makes sense also, since 150 is a small amount. right?

and again I’m not complaining, I’m hoping, there’s a different.

It is like buying a new car in 2012, and then demanding a refund when someone buys the 2012 model in 2014 for cheaper than you did. The additional cost was already repaid in the value of having that car for two years when it was new.

in the previous MMO I’ve played, the company handling it release an item with a high price then for less or just 1 month, release it in 1/3 or 1/4 of the original price. the time between the price change, if it’s small, it’s not cool.

if a car manufacturer release brand new a car model and you bought it, then after a month they release it with price 1/3 of the original, then you know that you have just been screwed. it’s cool if the duration you are saying is long, but if it’s short then you know that you just been screwed. that was our major complain back then at the previous MMO that I’ve played.

Nope, I got 2 crappy offensive rings that have no use in my build and I put the 225 tokens in them regardless. I don’t care about a refund, with the amount of fractals people are running, tokens are not a big issue. It was simply an oversight that there was no 75 token infusion for offensive slots and this fixes that oversight.

That’s all this topic was about, don’t go making it about whining that you spent a bunch of tokens and now you want them back because what you bought is being reduced in price.

like I’ve said I have see it as part of RNG before, I got 2 rings and a fractal capacitor that’s offensive slot. I’ve view it as an RNG and decide to myself that I have nothing to complain about the versatile’s cost.

LOL, if token is not an issue then why are people complaining and ANet making changes about versatile’s price?

what i don’t understand is WHY would any1 spend 20g+, 50 skill points to get an additional +5 to a certain stat!? This is the stupidest (if that’s even a word lol) upgrade the whole game has… +5 to a stat LOLOLOLOLOL

Here’s the update. I talked with folks about the discrepancy between the defensive Simple Infusion and Versatile Simple Infusion cost differences and application, and we all came to the conclusion that a more fair vendor solution is the following:
-Remove the Simple Infusion for defensive slots from the vendor (currently costs 75 tokens)
-Lower the cost of the Versatile Simple Infusion to 75 tokens (from 225).

Since the versatile can fill both the defensive/offensive slots, we found this to be the least confusing resolution to the problem. There won’t be any refunds (to my knowledge) to the people who bought the Versatile Simple Infusion for 225 tokens.

LOL, seriously? I already spend 450 tokens on versatile, so I wasted 300. XD

I hope you guys refund, just to be fair for everybody.

yup, it’s kinda pain in the kitten but still it’s ok.

all i can say is this:

1. there should be one person to man the lava, preferably someone with stealth to loss agro when he/she get it, and he she should not attack or something.

2. use range weapon and stay far away from the boss as possible, if you’re close then turn around and run, don’t backpedal because it’s slow. if you’re too close, chances are you might not be able to run far away from the bombs AoE. it’s even much safer if you just run to the lava spot or near it, then attack from there, w8 for it there until lava is poured then run to the next lava spot again.

3. when someone is down, don’t rush to resu. try to decide if it’s safe or not, let those get downed die and just wait for a chance to resu.

4. if someone is down and died, don’t rush to resu again. lure the boss like nobody died and observe who has the agro, if you don’t have the agro and the boss now is far from the dead body, then sneak up and resu while the others continue to lure and pour lava.

5. i find the attack where the boss applies agony hard to dodge, what you can do is maintain a full HP, don’t get hit by other attack. remember that you can probably heal 2 times before he execute this attack again. also, you can dodge and use skills that make you immune to all attack to not get hit by this (eg. mesmers distortion and sword #2, engineers elixir s and so on). remember that even if it’s hard to dodge and hurts bad, the time between this skill is used by the boss is kinda long.

i think this is kinda unfair, my timezone is at UTC +08:00. that means this event started/happened at about 4:00 am on Monday, which i have to work at 5:00 am. i don’t know what ANet is thinking, maybe they don’t want us at this time zone to sleep or work to be able to participate in this event?

they should have consider other people in other timezone, they could have make this event trigger 2-3 times a day and only make the chest appear once per account.

i really disappointed with ANet because of this, not because i did not get a precursor but because they seems to have not given us a chance.

you could say that i could have take a leave from work, but seriously, who would expect that ANet give high value rewards from an event that many many people would miss because of the time zone difference. i did not expect them to be this kitten

the way i think for them to be able to fix this is to schedule another event in different time, only make the chest appear to those who was not able to get the chest this morning if they have some kind of log about who and who have finished the event. and take the chest.

or make it so that precursor will be easily attainable, to drop it’s price.

i usually farm at pent and shelter, all i can say mesmer have a very quick AoE damage burst. they can kill or make a group of risen almost dead in maybe 1 to 2 seconds

yes they need a target, so i think it is much better to farm on a location where it is easy to acquire one.

it depends actually, for example, if you are using heavy. as far as i know you can’t get power/toughness/vitality in all your armor from temple god karma vendors. no one is selling power/toughness/vitality exotic heavy helm for karma, you can only get it from badges, but i could be wrong.

I play a mesmer, and I can tell you that phantasmal berserker is never obstructed, which is probably a bug since all the other phantasms can be obstructed. Even though I play mesmer, I’d still like this fixed.

Thief is way more OP.

base on the berserker’s mechanics, i think it won’t get obstructed.

by the way i agree with Arani, mesmers have their issues also and one of those is running. i wish my mesmer have my engineer’s perma swiftness. XD

/me is used for doing your own emotes and as you may (or may not) know the enemy can see any emote you can do, so just add anything after it and it comes out in the emote style text

“servername invader <text>” is what it shows as

/me emotes don’t work unless they’ve recently changed it. All the enemy sees is “Servername invader gestures.”

That’s it.

I once had an enemy desperately tried to communicate with me using /me to no avail.

maybe it work somewhere in time, it may have work before but not now or it might be working now but not before.

all i know is that i’ve read somewhere in this forum before, about people complaining against their opponents trash talking using /me /emote.

You did move to an easier situation, however. Instead of investing the time/energy/leadership to rally the server together or forge alliances to cover our weaknesses, you decided to leave where those things were already done for you. We are outmatched due to server population issues and timezone coverage… changes which can possibly be fixed over time assuming organized guilds don’t leave the server during the growing pains.

I’ve been in WvW with a small raiding party and as some of those zergs as well, and many times Nom or others would generally tell us not to bother defending keeps due to overwhelming numbers within our own Borderlands. You require numbers in order to defend keeps while still going on to capture more. A skeleton crew won’t do much when the zerg is following you around recapping everything, and they STILL have numbers to spare to split off and take the few supply camps PUGs and small guilds are capable of taking. This is all a debate over strategy, however, and the issue is based on organization at its root.

People are going to argue in map/team chat when we are losing by as much as we typically are. It’s stressful. The reason we are losing I feel is a lack of night presence, and only way to do that is to forge alliances (which only one of the more organized guilds is going to be capable of doing that) to cover the time gap, as has been seen on the more successful servers.

Here is the thing. It doesn’t matter if it’s Anvil Rock, Ferg, wherever. If you are in a lower tiered server right now with low population and no timezone coverage you have 3 options:

1) Be the change. Help forge alliances. Organize the server. Power through the kitteny weeks and make the server better.
2) Rely on someone else to do it and listen to them and execute their strategies.
3) Leave because it’s too hard.

You opted for the 3rd. Seeing as this is a game, in the end it doesn’t matter. It’s up to you to enjoy the game you are playing, and if that means abandoning the server you are on instead of powering through it, then that is your prerogative.

Just don’t expect the people you abandon to like you for it.


On a personal note, I really don’t give a crap what guilds leave. The weak willed will be culled and eventually we will build our way up. I hope to be when we crush them in the future.

i think it’s not easier, the server ANV picked to transfer is maybe organized and have population but so are the server they are up against with. and getting the outmanned buff and having no queues also. it’s a hard battle just to win a place on the map.

as far as i remembered, the time that ANV pick the server, the server was at 3rd place not 2nd. it was just the recent days that the server went 2nd and last time i checked it don’t have orb.

so i think no it is not easier and no it is not winning.

and believe me ANV did tried hard, i was on WvWvW the whole time last week. low morale and people boycott WvWvW, TFO left. even though, ANV was still there, making use of the time trying to learn, teach and organize while trying to have some fun.

ANV already tried that on previous weeks.

And the reason they left is because Fergy and Anvil are terrible servers.

I would have to say its the people that jump ship and go to the winning servers that are to blame here not the server itself in most cases!
Have no respect for such people, but I do have quite a bit of respect for these players in these underdog servers that stick with it even when its a very lopsided match.

Also you have to consider in all fairness some servers may not have a decent size wvwvw player base regardless of the overall population?

to be fair, as far as i know, anvil’s main wvw guilds, who transfered (i think 3 of them already), did not move to a winning server on their bracket.

@Aria, Anvil Rock claimed all of NSP was at fault for Orb hackers, and the entire server deserved some sort of punishment. It was also claimed that NSP didn’t deserve to win, and the only reason we were winning was because of hackers.

For that reason, I find this thread hilarious.

since i don’t happen to have read something like that, the hack was blame for the lose of morale and for people boycotting WvWvW that’s why there’s not very much people participating even at primetime.

i’m running pistol/shield condition build and use FT for the following.

1. toolbelt to apply burning
2. FT #1 on the gate in WvWvW to hit enemies on the other side.
3. FT #3 for knock back
4. FT #4 to put a combo field on the ground then use pistol #1 and shield #5 combo finisher.
5. FT #5 for blind

what i usually do is i just switch to FT, use skill or skills then switch back to pistol and shield.

IMO, having cc and condition remover is not just for PvP but for PvE also.

cleaning formula is a permanent part of my build, if you are running around orr you will notice that mobs can inflict conditions on you. they can cripple and immobilize you, and so on.

i like cleaning formula because it makes it easier to run around orr, if i go from point A to point B and there is 5+ mobs in between, it would be not much of a problem.

Yes, a key part of our p/p burning build (one of the best condition builds in the game atm) is garbage. Listen to this man.

yup, i actually finish experience survivor with my engineer without me knowing it and it was on the time when i’m at lower level.

i was just reading the forum, then saw something like people is having a difficulty getting that achievement and that prompt me to check my achievements then i’m surprise that i’m already done with it.

veterans are easy for engineers and they can solo some champions. the almost perma swiftness and vigor helps a lot, it can even make you dodge every attack a champion throw. supply crate also add to your survivability.

Sometimes it’s not a matter of out-of-reach keys. When I first played gw2 with a normal mouse, I felt my left hand was severely overworked and my right hand was lazily lying about moving camera angles and whatnot. I felt I had to buy a mouse with extra buttons (I’m poor so I only have the G300, only 6 extra buttons) to relieve some pressure from my left hand.

now this is a much better reason.

using your mouse with extra buttons for convenience and not necessary for necessity.

and its attack speed seems really slow. it is just not viable in tournaments when a warrior can deal 40 times your damage while giving 4 times your condition damage with a better accuracy holding a rifle. Also poison dart usually misses 2-3 shots out of 5 shots even against non-moving target golems. Only viable condition build is with Elixir Gun but it is exhausting to assign auto atk 1 after some time.

are you shooting your poison dart 800-1050 distance away? if you shoot it from maybe 200-500 distance, are you still missing 2-3 shoots?

Face it, the naga razer is the only thing that makes this class bareable

lol, i’m using just a normal mouse and i’m doing fine. if you stay with your default 1-10 skill keybind then it’s your fault if you can’t strafe while using a normal mouse.

i’ve setup my keybind almost the same way as i’ve setup my keybind on the previous MMO i’ve played (Dragon Nest). which, by the way, i think is much more action oriented compare to GW2 and require you more to change your keybind to be much more effective or, on difficult dungeons they call Nest, is required for you to survive.

You can only use drops from one spot?

It’s called being efficient, if I find a spot with a high mob count that I can kill somewhat quickly then its worth my time.

then people discover that same spot and start farming there 24/7 and you will have 10 people competing for the mobs on that same spot. something like that happened to one of the MMO i’ve played before.

i only heard about this anti-farming recently, but i think it’s a good idea not just for countering botters.

btw i was playing wakfu before where there is this class that is base on luck, real luck since most skills are random, skills that will either kill enemies or will kill yourself. that’s why maybe i’m use to random skills cause i’m use to working around it.

Ah but virtues are not random.
You know exactly what you’ll get when you activate them making skillful usage possible – unlike the elixirs.
As i said, if you get the traits for the elixirs to give might / remove conditions then they become predictable to some extend – but at that point they basically all do the same.
The traits should improve the skills not define them.

i cannot fully compare how well their virtue and toolbelt mechanics play on their different playstyle at this time.

i think toss elixir B, U and S even on it’s randomness can be predictable to what it will be use for. S is for defense/escape, U for defensive spell on the ground and B is for offensive boon.

but you have a point.

i think i have clearly said that elixirs might have been intended to those who spend points in alchemy trait line.

traits like cleaning formula 409 and HGH is an improvement to your elixirs. it’s up to you by the way if you choose to not take traits that improve elixirs and still use elixirs. btw getting 30 alchemy improves your elixirs.

elixir H can give you a more mobile condition remover. if use on yourself, it can give 2 stacks of 20 seconds might and can add up to additional +3% damage.

repeating always the same over and over and writing what certain abilites do without any context does not make your “argument” valid -.- according to you toss elixirs are fine because I can trait for them to make them useful? so when I want to use them properly I have to wait till atleast lvl 40 for the master trait? you write something about the elixir utility skills when the thread is about the toss elixir TOOLBELT skills random effect and elixir X elite skill. your last sentence is a good indication and everyone can see that you have not really read anything and have no real point, you just post for the sake of posting something. btw toolbelt skills have nothing to do with with weapon or bundle skills your receive from kits.

ah internet argument, i think you are nearing to the point of calling me names.

i think you are just being greedy, you sounds like you want it all. as far as i know thieves and warriors have a skill the same as our elixir U but have different side effects. we have elixir U on the skill slot and then we have a BUNOS skill at our toolbelt. this goes the same with elixir B and S. you see, toolbelt are good compensation for kits and us not able to switch weapon but with elixir occupying our skill slot, there is maybe a little or maybe none to compensate.

we have a toss skill that can farther be improve with traits along with the elixir in our skill slot.

you see, i’m not against changing it. just saying that it might be intended.

anyway if there are things you don’t understand about my post, i’ll be happy to explain.

when i’m finish with my guardian and mesmer and will be able to fully compare them to engineers and find that toolbelt sucks compare to what guardian and mesmer have then i will join your cause.

anyway as of now, if i compare my engineer to my guardian. guardians have virtue instead of toolbelt then it’s up to you if you will improve your virtue by getting traits. which is base on my build, i am not going to, so my virtue may not be that good in the end. the same way maybe as my engineer toss skill might not be good without some traits.

elixirs can cure condition and give 20 secs might with traits, making toss useful even with it’s random effects.

you said that you need to take alchemy traits for those but maybe it was intended that elixirs are for those who spends points on alchemy trait line.

elixir H for example is weak compare to other healing skill like you said, but it benefits from alchemy traits, making it a very good choice for alchemy builds.

Bug.
-Unlike the description of the skill, this grants allies in the area one of the above buffs randomly instead of all.
-While the skill lists the duration of Might as 30s, it is in fact only 10s.

i can’t test this now myself but maybe tonight.

yup it’s an OR, yup it’s disappointing but if you got cleansing formula 409 (elixir cure 1 condition) or HGH (elixir gives 20 seconds of might) then it’s not that bad.
