Why would going afk be categorized as botting? What if someone just so happened to pass out for staying up for long hours at a time and just suddenly crashed, leaving their game up.
Or they could possibly be experiencing technical problems/frozen game/lag etc.
And I hope you’re aware people with children do play this game as well, and life happens.
I’d really like to see the ability to dye weapons just as our armors.
I guess implemented as weapon dyes perhaps using some kind of inverted dye color to differentiate from armor dyes.
(Just a concept idea)
Skins should never become exclusive in a game. Time, effort and repetitiveness may keep someone from attaining a specific skin/item, but for it to be completely taken out of circulation shouldn’t ever be ‘ok’.
I’ve been playing on and off since day one of launch and that’s my view on it and always will be.
If there’s enough demand for something, then why shouldn’t it be brought back? I honestly couldn’t care less if the next guy had exactly what the first guy has. It’s personal taste and preference that sets each person apart.
Same. They dumped a whole lot of nerfs and so-called balances to the market before and after HoT released. T6 mats prices took a dive all the same.
Then dungeons are dead, and they’re more focused on promoting raids but to get further in raids you’ll need ascended gear. And the prices for the mats to make each kind of set skyrocketed since then.
Now with them admitting they’re openly encouraging gem to gold conversions.. I’m only counting down the days before I end up having to move on to another game.
Angel Wings!!! If even just dyeable Dragon Wings for my Guild since Angels is in the name.
Armor Bleach. Yes, bleach! Since I’ve spent the insane amount of money on Celestial on multiple characters, only to be incredibly disappointed on the results. Especially on the light armor embroidered pants, with the ankles all dirty and all. Also, the medium Duelist armor that looks like you’re wearing a dull greyish diaper material or something. Thus, I’d like some new armor of similar fashion or bleach!
If they’re coming out with deity items such as Grenth’s hood, you’d think a pair of Dwayna’s wings as a backpiece would be no problem. After that I wouldn’t be too surprised if they came out with other such items, like something Balthazar, Melandru, etc.
Something like this statue may be a bit too big. Perhaps sized down like the tequatl wings. But I’d definitely buy a pair if they made it.
If they had kept the flamekissed armor, it would’ve ruined the game even more (no more exclusive T3 human cultural armor). Then they would’ve had to make all cultural armor > universal armor because at this point any race could wear whatever they wanted.
Furthermore, they would’ve lost so much player support going this route with so many people feeling cheated as they did and thus the game would slowly decline and wither.
They won’t be able to make everyone happy, as the usual, but at least they wouldn’t be breaking/going against the game they initially created.
I’d really like for something like this to be possible, like in gw1.
Some of the weapon handle/hilts just don’t match some of the color schemes I prefer. Like Sunrise for instance.. it has a golden hilt whereas sometimes I feel like dyeing my armor a more metallic/white or other colors that simple don’t match gold too well.
So being able to dye it some base colors like silver/abyss/and other primary colors would be a nice change.
If you complain about something (in this case, farming) you’re basically telling everyone around who could possibly help you do achievements, to leave.
Now that farming is nerfed (because of all the complaints), there’s no swarm of people around to help do the events.
Before, it was a profitable situation, now its empty. Think before you complain.
Urgh. This again?
My asura and charr females are very happy without ridiculous-looking human-culture-specific female-with-prominent-breasts clothes, thank you very much.
Unisex for all, or nothing. I am 100% against more skins with boob windows on boobless species.
Reading the OP’s entire post, I didn’t see anything about the OP specifically stating they wanted ‘armor showing cleavage’ or concerning the breasts at all. Merely a difference in appearance from the male gender.
You know.. like smaller sized shoulder pauldrons, lighter/thinner armor frame, etc. Something to make you less inclined to think an asura or what have you (that might happen to have a similar appearance as a male of that species) might possibly be a male.
Since when was personalization for any race frowned upon? And before anyone brings up clipping issues, there’s countless of those already. So I don’t see why this is such a black and white issue.
I wish there was a sort of ‘filter’ for the misc/junk items we all find from loot bags. Like what the OP was getting at, but more of a ‘Mawdrey’ item that gives you a drop-list with misc items you can choose to dispose of.
Mini Raccoon (since they eat almost anything or something that sits in your inventory)
- Choose Mini Raccoons diet:
- Unidentified Object
- Mushed Fungus
- Etc
But doesn’t have to be said raccoon, can be a compactor of some kind that’ll dispose of filtered item as it appears in your inventory saving you ALOT of micromanaging.
They can either wait for them to respawn, or go somewhere else. Especially if you were there first. It’s first come first serve. If they are using maize balms though, it would be courteous to leave them to it as they spent their gold.
Otherwise, tough luck as already stated.
No mounts needed on this game, like ever. The maps aren’t large enough, and it’s not hard to run from one place to the next. Maps like Malchor’s Leap even discourages mounts anyways with canyons in the terrain and spaced out mobs.
You’ll be attacked especially given no mount will ever be given speed boosts. You and the mount will be wiped out. And it’s more efficient to draw your weapon as you’re walking by as opposed to getting off a horse or whatever identifying your opponent, then drawing your weapon.
If anything, you’ll be slower vs. a guardian who’s constantly casting speed buffs blazing across the map. So again, no mounts are needed. Other, certain games perhaps but not this one.
TitleStop Making Outfits
No.
Unless they revamp every armor in the game or start completely over it’s going to be full armor sets for expansions only and outfits in the gemstore.
Players don’t want compromise, only results.
I’m actually perfectly happy with outfits because they look good. They can be improved to add a few more custom options but it helps they are also much more time friendly to create. I think GW2 would have been much greater if they focused on ONLY outfits with options like backpieces, helms and auras being the custom options and adding more race options.
While I like mix-and-match armor, GW2 doesn’t do well in making a stark variety of pieces to mix. That is, each piece isn’t distinct enough to warrant their existance. Some gloves just look too similar to other gloves, some pants too similar to other pants, etc. To be truly effective, you need to create pieces that rely on their own aesthetic merit, not “need to make 6 pieces to complete a set”. It’s even worse when you consider that there are 3 weights. Light armor doesn’t need “shoulder” gear, for example.
Looking like every next character kills the game and the creativity it’s been partially based on. They might as well remove the wardrobe system, cultural armors and gender-based armors and all others.
If you’d rather look 50-100% like the next human or charr, then the game just depreciated that much in diversity. Customization and diversity is what drives creativity and is one of the things that draws new and old players.
And Anet’s statement that it took 9 months(?) to make all the armors at launch, I highly doubt that. It sounds much more sensible that they hired a lot of temp workers just for the creation of armors, then just dumped them shortly after. So there went a lot that potential +money, now everyone who’s tired of outfits or prefers mix and match is left with no new options.
This ‘leveling’ updates pretty much turned me off to making any new characters :\
I was kind of tempted to see what changes were made to rangers, but if we’re forced to go through all these level gates.. then I’m not even gonna bother.
It’s all a real disappointment, when the GW2 first launched I was able to understand how leveling/what to do just fine. I’d even look forward to unlocking skills ASAP so I can come up with different tactics – as I was leveling up – not later on.
And leveling gating the armor dyes/wardrobe just killed it big time for me. Wasn’t one of the key features of having the wardrobe and dyes updated so we can customize ‘when and how’ we wanted? ..Why even bother ever having that update if you’re just going to level gate it now?
Sad to say, but this update has way too many unappealing features than any of the previous ones. If none of these ‘changes’ are changed back, then I’ll have to drop this game.
This just looks like an attempt to start drama.
If you complain about something (in this case, farming) you’re basically telling everyone around who could possibly help you do achievements, to leave.
Now that farming is nerfed (because of all the complaints), there’s no swarm of people around to help do the events.
Before, it was a profitable situation, now its empty. Think before you complain.Except they were all at Amber so technically they’re no worse off.
The events reward you shovels and other loot for succeeding (smart move by the devs to only allow keys to be purchased and not shovels). So there’d be people around to do them.
Concentrating on Amber won’t win it all. You needed Forts (4/4) Upgrades (4/4) then everyone gets rewarded shovels/loot. And being able to farm was part of that reward system.
So what if people found a new farming ground, you wouldn’t be there alone.
This style of dungeon would actually be the 2nd after they introduced Tower of Nightmares. Since it was a large instanced zone ’n all. But agree, I enjoy this style much more.
It was also a nice surprise to get the monthly done so quickly after noticing these runs/raids counted towards dungeon completion.
Some things I’d like to see are:
- Ability to individually reskin/mix-match outfit pieces over armor
- Dye-able weapons
- Matching Lich backpiece
- Wide Rim Glasses
- Stalwart Armor Skin made obtainable again
- Violin instrument
- A wider variety of dresses (light armor)
^Countess Anise's Armor skin
It’s also very easy to ask around if anyone has ’ x ’ waypoint, provided you have a spare ‘Teleport to Friend’. Otherwise running to said location (with someone higher levels improves your survival) is your only option.
“Buying” just seems like it only adds and promotes to more cash grabbing. I’d have to say no to ‘buying’ sorry.
Considering I suck at adventures, I’m rather glad there are more points being added.
My thoughts exactly.
There’s some adventures I can never get any higher than silver and don’t go spewing that L2P rubbish, some things you’re good at, some you aren’t and I’ve long since accepted it. So more options is always a plus; otherwise you’re only limiting yourself.
Let’s see how mounts work in Tangled Depths, Bloodstone Fen, Draconis Mons, Verdant Brink and any other map heavily reliant on gliding.
Because the moment they start introducing flying mounts (incoming WoW), this game will be making it’s way to the back burner for me, sigh.
I’d like to see one of these as a new headwear skin.
Specifically light helm skin as a Veil. It’d look so nice for mesmers/eles/necros.
And dye-able of course.
Can we downgrade these form “mastery” points to “casual” points? I thought the whole point was to have to work towards them and learn to master aspects of the game. Now they throw so many at you that you just get plopped in front of it is just not fun to get them anymore.
At least the raid mastery point additions took a few hours work to learn the fights.
I agree with this suggestion. Might as well delete mastery points from the game because it is so easy to get enough for everything, especially HoT masteries. And the exp is even easier to get. I think the whole mastery system is a failure at the current implementation.
Not the things you unlock with masteries, but masteries do not feel like you accomplished everything since Anet basically throws everything at you for barely any effort. Being masterly lvl 170 is just as meaningless as being lvl 80 pre HoT.The same problem exist with legendaries. They are so common and easy to make that the name legendary is missleading.
I’m not sure most of the playerbase plays 6, 8, 10 hours a day. Not playing for extended amounts of time, they may not be so adept, and it may actually be more challenging and time-consuming to ‘accomplish everything’.
Thus, I hope (and am pretty sure) ArenaNet designs content with more than the outliers in mind.
I spend only a small fraction of my time on stuff like legendaries. So even if you only play 10h a week you can make several legendaries per year, which iis why you see so many people with multiple legendaries.
And getting the essential masteries is just a matter of a month (starting with a fresh account), too, even for the really casual players.
It is really a problem with GW2, there are hardly any long term goals/tasks other than time gated stuff like legendary armor which we cannot even finish yet.
Anet released a new map and there were people after 2 days who already unlocked all the achievements and rewards the map has to offer. That does not sound like sustainable MMO content at all.
Maybe that is why a lot of people do not log in for much other than patch days, I can see it in my friendlist where the activity sharply declines again after every patch because they already finished everything. The game needs more grind.Cool story, I’ve been playing HoT since launch and I’ve yet to max my masteries. So yeah if you want to pour all your game time on one thing, yes you can max things get X item in no time, but if you like to do a little of this and that, it will take you a lot longer, just because you can do things in X amount of time will not mean everyone can.
Adding more points to make things easier for new and people who are bad at some content will not devalue your work. It seems to me they are adding new tracks, and sone will be needed for the LW3, so ANet is making sure not to lock people out of the story, it was a point of contention with HoT’s launch, they probably don’t want to do that again. But then the so called “Elite” or “Hard Core” players don’t want people to be able to just play the game. Ho no, everyone must play the way they do because anything else makes them less elite for some bizarre reason only they truly understand. If you feel the game needs more grind, and ANet are very against grind, maybe this is not the game for you, or you could just accept the game for what it is, not what you want it to be.
Well said. My thoughts exactly.
More options only adds more possibilities, which leads to longer playability. Anyone who would rather see the opposite (elitists), might want to find a more competitive game if they hate seeing people catch up to them.
Why does everything being used to traverse, whether it be land, water or air have to be referred to as a mount? Would a parachute/sled/snowboard or surfboard be considered a mount too?
I’m tired of people constantly griping about how ‘poor’ of a mount something is. If it was intended as a mount, they’d say so. Otherwise take it for what it is, merely a tool to get to your destination or to keep you from turning into a pile of blood and bones on the ground.
Mounts are more animated (like a horse or something with flapping wings), what is animated about a hang-glider besides drifting downwards from a higher elevation?
And as mentioned countless times already, this game doesn’t need them.
/end thread pls
you can return to the jungle any time you want if you bought HoT
This. If you want access to it, simply buy it. Many other people did and it’s far cheaper than when it released. You’d be saving a lot more now than if you bought it upon pre-purchase or shortly after release. If you aren’t bothered about it, that’s your call.
Agree, something like this would be a BIG help.
Hey everyone,
I’d like to propose a slight, possibly simple update to the bank/mats storage. Currently the deposit limit for any mats is 250. And with recent updates more and more people are going around collecting, and selling what they can.
However, once we hit that 250 limit, it starts stockpiling in the inventory. I’m not particularly fond of the idea of stopping just to sell things just because I can’t fit anymore in the bank OR just having mats sit there. So this suggestion is a simple proposition to increase the 250 mats limit to something more updated like ~500ish.
250 seemed a fair number during the first year, but times are changing and people are collecting more and such.
I’m sure some people will simply say “buy more bags/boxes”, if that’s the case remove the “deposit all collectibles” option, which would be major upset I’m sure.
TLDR: Increase deposit limit for mats (in the bank) from 250 to something higher, like 500.
The reason I’ve bought the older tools, and have no qualms about buying these is because the different looks and themes. The fact that the sprocket mining pick gives sprockets or that these new ones give unbound magic make zero difference to me.
I make my characters according to themes/styles that interest me, and I definitely don’t rage over something that supposedly gives an edge over something sold before. I find all this raging “Oh these are gonna make everything else I have obsolete”, “Why bother buying any other tools?”, “Make new tools with infusion sockets…”; obnoxious and very childish.
Seriously, just stop. The reason my ele charr uses my molten tools it to complete a flame legion theme, I could care less that it doesn’t give bonuses. My Engi or any asura character uses the ‘O-matic’ tools, and druid uses the cosmic tools. Get the point?
So all this bickering about extra harvesting bonuses needs to stop, its getting kiddish.

People getting hyped about the new expansion’s cool ‘n all, but no one needs to be making assumptions or making claims about what they think is true about how new exp mechanics are going to be before the game even releases. It’s virtually impossible to tell.
(time travel does not exist… yet.)
Theorizing and speculating is fine but solely on what’s already been revealed to us, and guessing to an extent.
Spellbreaker does reminds me of the Neverwinter Nights 2 (not online) warrior/fighter prestige class (same as elite spec), Invisible Blade – wields 2 daggers, just as the spell breaker does. So indeed I am pretty excited to see how it’ll play.
For those who may be curious how similar they are.
Invisible Blade: http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Invisible_Blade
The way I see it, the only exclusivity in the game should be rewards gotten by content you ‘refuse’ to participate in – as in spvp or wvw. If you don’t like one or the other or both, then you’ll simply have to miss out on that particular content.
If something has been out before at one point and available to anyone, then there’s no point restricting anyone else from it simply because they weren’t there or missed out.
And greed (complaining that it messes with the price or because everyone else will have it [not everyone will], is no excuse).
People can be busy with daily day to day things. Look at it this way, would you want to be shut out from something you only had a one time chance to acquire? Or would you like an additional chance to get it?
And this is all property of anet/ncsoft, so they can do whatever they want.
A big solid no. Mounts won’t add anything but more clutter to the game, and there’s too much as it is. And as repeated countless times already, the games design does not need them.
If you can’t take a couple to few minutes to run from one side of a map to another or simply ask for help to get through some maps, then tough luck. If that’s even a problem for anyone.
The reason I feel compelled to do map completion is because I, like some others, am a completionist. And it’s nice having all places mapped out without having to worry if you have it or not.
Otherwise if you don’t, you might feel as if you’re holding people back if they invite you to an event and you can’t get there instantly.
You might be able to find a closer WP to start from – that’s fine, but being given completion? No thank you, that only promotes laziness. There’s too much of it.
If you or someone doesn’t like doing it, we shouldn’t see anyone complaining about their characters only having 50% of the map or that they’re being nagged at for delaying time to get to a certain place.
And what would your argument be against optional account-bound Map Completion? How would that affect you or like-minded individuals in any way?
Completely against it. It’s fine as it is now, and much simpler without wvw. To me, even having wvw was a sort of ‘gate’ because you had people purposely trying to grief people trying to complete their maps.
Now that it’s out of the way, there should be no or little reason people should be complaining ’it’s too hard or takes too long’. Because guess what, nothing ever means much if you don’t put effort into it. Regardless if it’s repetitive. And you can at least say you have the patience for it.
So yea, nothing could convince me to accept something like this. Same could be said for irl, taking shortcuts makes you complacent.
Just another fanboy /facepalm moment, let them dwell in their ignorance and blizz – I mean bliss and move on.
It’s not a Magikarp reference?
GG putting two and two together, Water Dragon confirmed.
I hope they leave bundle as is. Buy it or don’t. Bundling products is a way of life. Do consumers whine about items bundled with purchases involving cars, groceries, or electronics?
People complain about outfits, but they’d buy this one IF it wasn’t bundled. People complain about gem store glider skins, but they’d buy this one IF it wasn’t bundled. Oh sure you would.
Consumer and customer has the RIGHT to be choosy and selective, it’s all a part of economics. And I most definitely won’t pay for extra things that I don’t need or want when it’s perfectly fair to sell it individually.
Would you pay for extra car seat covers, cup holders, tires and a few extra batteries along with a car you might purchase in the future – and all those together just to justify some obnoxious price? I highly doubt it. This is no different.
It’s simply being selective and a smart spender. Because I’ve worked pretty -kitten- hard for my money. And no one will ever tell me how to spend it or what I should spend it on.
@mxz:
You might consider that other people might just have had different reasons about buying those. In fact, i’ll go out and guess that pure aestethics weren’t likely the primary reason most people buy infinite tools. I’d say that on average, QoL and utility would rate higher. Not sure why having different priorities than your own is sudenly childish, however.
I have, but making multiple threads griping about why something isn’t the same as something before doesn’t pass as a good reason.
And why do you think there’s a skritt gathering tool, a cosmic gathering tool, fire, lightning, halloween, and many other themes? Because Anet is looking to give players a diverse aesthetic option. Not some plain looking tool, and yet people griped about too much flashy feel, so they went and made plain ones too. So yea, I’m quite sure a lot of it is according to how ‘the player’ feels depending on how something looks or how stylish it works. Yet that’s still no reason to lash out about the additional perks it gives over something else. People make their purchases knowing what they’re getting, then throw a fit because something new comes out that adds a little extra, so what.
Are people gonna start griping that the older armors don’t look as flashy as the legendary ones next or that they allow changing stats? Doubtful.
I’ll level the “hard” way.
Same with any new class. Speed lvling will just ruin the new crisp playthrough.
A while back when porting into LA, saw a warrior sylvari named: Faceplant doing the forward gs skill charge. I chuckled abit.
Yep, they’re just in the way.
It’s already bad enough that some trolls lay down box ‘o funs around those vendors or bank services. But npcs shouldn’t be the ones to cause any interference with a simple pit stop to the bank or TP. I’d say either silence them (remove “Greet”) or alter their path cycle.
It shouldn’t be too demanding or too difficult/tedious to do.
gems to unlock all waypoints (requested today)
gems for immediate level 80 (requested yesterday)
gems for mounts with 100-300% speed boost (frequent)
gems to convert PvE maps to PvE/PvP (frequent)
gems to unlock all hero points (requested today)Just because someone wants it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. It may benefit you and other players yet be bad for the game as a whole.
It really makes me wonder why such people play games at all if they can’t put any effort in anything ingame and have to rely on $ to get good. Really quite sad.
Now if someone likes your specific style, scheme, theme, color, combo of skins of your character(s); then that’s completely different.
But it still in no way makes anyone better than someone else just because they might have an earlier or now unavailable skin. And rather than thinking you/or your character might be or look better, you should be rather flattered they take an interest. And thank them all the same if they compliment on it.
It’s ok to be prideful of what you have especially if you worked your hiney off to acquire it, but there’s no room or need for ego.
The only exclusive items should be behind content you can choose or choose not to do. Specifically such as fractals, pvp, wvw and holiday events. Aside from that, everything should be obtainable some how and never permanently unavailable to people who probably had more important agendas (irl priorities, lack of funds, bills, family time/emergencies, etc..).
I’m sure you wouldn’t want things suddenly coming up or happening that caused you to miss out either. No one would. So why bar anyone else from the same ingame content?
No one persons time or money is worth more than anyone else’s. If they invest either or, they should have as equal chance to obtain the same.
Haha, just read all this and wow. And congrats on it all, especially the new lil one ^^ RNGs been extremely kind to you (literally).
its unfair to others who likes the feature patch.u made it seems game gonna die tomorrow while majority have no problem with this patch.it is just unhappy guys speak more.u can just delete the game and leave if u dont like it,but whats the point to post it here.nothing changed on every map. ppl still enjoy this game.could u just leave it alone and play someting else if it bothered u so much.
Realize that some people have spend Alot of money on this game…. And they can have all the right in the world to be mad imo.I think its unfair to say that others cant be “negative” about this patch. Not everything has to be sunshine and rainbows.
^
You took the words right outta my mouth. A lot of time, effort and hard earned dollars went into this game, and we can’t post negative feedback because it isn’t fair?
I personally wouldn’t rather leave this game disappointed after spending so much time making and remaking the characters/items I’ve invested so much into. So I’ll post necessary feedback to improve the quality of game play. In the end, happy customer/gamer amounts to returning business – win, win.

So there went a lot that potential +money, now everyone who’s tired of outfits or prefers mix and match is left with no new options.
Diversity for diversity’s sake is also a lame excuse. There’s a difference between being creative and being a special snowflake. The fact of the matter is, the system doesn’t support being creative because the system relies on you to collect skins over utilizing a system of options to create a unique and fashionable character. It divides your options by armor weight rather than what you desire for a particular look. It forces you to use limiting charges to make said changes rather than just utilizing the changes you want and it cost inventory space to store multiple looks on a given character. These factors are CREATIVE factors and they’re all stifled.
But your point falls short. I never said outfits are perfect. In fact, I said they could change some things so outfits can have better customization freedom such as dye channels for various parts of the outfit, the ability to turn parts of the outfit off (could be like helm/shoulders or something more advanced like certain textures or special sections of the outfit unique to that outfit having the option to turn it off) along with possibilities to wear other helms/back pieces and auras.
The problem is, people like you see the status quo and you don’t see the bloat. The useless parts that you cover up or ignore took time to make and for what? For diversity, a nebulous goal at the cost of actual creativity. So you can feel special because you lack actual vision?
Thirsting for more options to exercise creativity does not make one a special snowflake. People who prefer or demand that certain content remain exclusive after a short period so that others cannot attain certain content are. People who want to completely shut out and limit other people from having more options are. I’d simply like them to make better use of time to implement actual armor pieces instead of a set of coveralls. The time used to spit out each outfit, they could have fashioned up a decent looking set. Instead, we got coveralls. And of course I know the whole weights, race, gender deal. But tell me, why’s it so hard now to implement “30 armors” according to how anet described it, when they’ve had so much time to get used to it all long after launch? Despite most of the dev teams getting cut shortly after.
And no it’s not a lame or weak excuse. If you showed me the game at launch featuring characters of each race that wore the exact same sets of armor, I wouldn’t have even touched the game. What outfits do is put a tuxedo on an elementalist, a thief, and a warrior. There’s zero difference apart from any disabled helm, shoulder or gloves and the dyes. Even though I’ve bought some outfits, it still isn’t the same and never will be.
I could simply turn off the game ambient music, but why do that when I could simply create a custom folder with my own selected music, insert it into the Gw2 folder and listen to them as I play? Because they’ve given us the choice for it. Outfits do nothing of the sort.
I’m very keen on detail even during character creation, each toon takes me roughly 20 to 30 mins to get everything just right, sometimes a bit longer. I just wish anet could and would invest more time making each individual piece of a set. Does it have to be all at once? No. It can certainly be spread out over time as long as it’s not a cookie cutter outfit after another. And simply turning off a shoulder piece or glove does not cut it. There’s a fair difference between one’s own distinct taste in mix-matched armor looks versus someone who wants the most expensive sets of armor such as legendary that few people out of an entire player base wants to get only to look flashy and special.
Armor variety and choice was far richer at launch than what it is now. It’s very much a drought since the last time they released a set. And 3 pieces is not a set. Smh.
Whaaa engi???? Why? First time i heard that… thief yeah they are hated by all. But engi too now???
Engi has currently strongest proven condi damage of all classes and a party wide condi damage buff. So I doubt engies would get the boot in a raid squad. Unless the leader’s a moron.
I always see raiders mention needing a condi engi or a real good condi class. So I would question the authenticity of this previous post.
From what I have heard Guardian, Thief and Engi aren’t allowed into raid parties.
I hope these aren’t the ‘new’ weapon skins, definitely not something I’d bother going for or collecting if so.
A few suggestions would be:
- Upgrade your gear so you aren’t overwhelmed with the higher end areas. But don’t spend too much, if something is out of your price range – just gather materials and save for it. What this game and a lot of other mmo’s do is make it a progression to keep your character outfitted and current.
(Ask around or look for guides peoples made for certain classes/builds)
- Another and one of the most important, just play how you want to and don’t let anyone else tell you how you should play.
- There’s a lot of things to do, but for newcomers, finding a suitable guild might be helpful unless you’re the lone wolf kinda player. As far as content, there’s dungeons, pvp, wvw, LS, fractals (tutoring recommended) and clearing maps/JPs.
- This game is over all centered around cosmetics and personal look customization of your character. Unless you don’t really care, then there’s outfits.
But I think you could get the most help and explanation while being in a decent guild.
@ Op, as others have already pointed out…
- Don’t buy the backpeice or w/e from the gemstore without previewing it first, it’ll save you the headache. (Right-click on item to see the option)
- You can’t dye other back pieces in-game, and you never could. And they are not part of your character’s body, so obviously the won’t flap – simply move according to your movements.
- See what was said above and repeatedly throughout this topic
(cannot dye back pieces)
- The devs already made dyes account wide, dying parts of armors/outfits have always been free. How else are they supposed to make money to push out newer/better/quality items if everything has to be free? Put yourself in their shoes and think of it from a marketing standpoint before complaining about it all.
- Also flying has never been in this game, the closest thing if free falling, or gliding which will be introduced in the expansion. And flying would pretty much make map travel pointless, sure the view would be nice but.. just no.
- Lastly, as mentioned early on.. the wings are the missing part of the Raiment of the Lich costume. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Raiment_of_the_Lich
The devs didn’t throw this out on the gemstore just for the heck of it. People wanted and repeatedly asked for the black wings to finish the costume, and it’s what they got. If you were ever curious about how it would look on any of your characters, go back to the top of this post (preview).
