I want to make an Alt but realizing that Elite Specializations take so long to grind I want to only level up one. And I want to choose between a Revenant, Druid, or Reaper, but I can’t decide. I’ve played all 3 classes and I like all 3 so I can’t decide. I liked Rev for it’s multiple skills, Reaper for it’s shouts and greatsword skills, and Druid for it’s Fire Wyern and healing abilities.
I’d like unbiased help. I currently main a Scrapper. And my playstyle is pretty much all over the place.
I use it defensively instead of offensively mainly for the lifesteal. But it’s when enemies just run into the field when you didn’t want them to that annoys me. Then everyone blames the Revenant and lashes out.
As far as Mallyx goes, I like it’s skills but Unyielding Anguish kittenes off too many players and whenever I use it, I get cussed out, even when it was an accidental case. Now, I just use UA to place the field in more of a defensive role and just place it’s combo field on ranged attackers for it’s lifesteal properties. Though it’s when world boss fights when I’m doing that and they happen to walk in that field’s direction by mistake that kittenes everyone off and blames me, or “F’in Revenants.”
Other than that I think all of it’s skills synergize well with Jallis’s heal skill, but’s UA that needs a change.
If we’re talkin human female I’d wanna see a plain ponytail. They have everything but that.
Since we get a transmutation charge when we create a rev, does that mean we can use as many as we want on our revs? (Depends on how many we have I mean.)
If an assassin is going to be a legend then no doubt he will have our holy swiftness buff.
(I kinda wished Glint was a legend)
Whats your beta rune, sigil, and stat pref? (only the ones they let you use)
I’ve only been using the ones that have came with the armors as of late alongside Celestial.
I like that there’s no sigil-skills. I hate those that’s why I main an engie. I like that the heavied armor tier finally has something that’s the closest to Engineer and Elementalist in terms of “skill-shuffling” but I’d think other’s would argue over that. I like that weapons are used differently in a more unique way similar to Mesmer and the greatsword I hope if there are ever more classes or ideas for new weapon usages for existing classes, they should do this. I really love how the tablet skill is like a mobile version of Engie’s healing turret, only with a smaller radius I can deal with that. I’m probably one of the few people who actually like Mallyx’s condi skills. If you use it in the right order it’ll tank well in WvW.
Needs Swiftness
or
Mallyx reliant
or
Jallis reliant
or
Totally Beta
or
Precursor Trollish
Well there’s always a possibility that Glint might become one and we get some crazy main weap like Focus or Warhorn. So far Rev (aside from Mes) is the class that is being known for using main weaps in new ways. I want to see what the new weap will bring.
Maybe because the class isn’t entirely complete. I think more legends (at least one more) need to be put in, thus more specializations. Just a guess.
Hammer – I think it needs a more solid, louder attack sound like every other class I mean you are throwing it at someone in a ghastly form already…
Swiftness – We need a trait or a skill for it just like every other class.
Staff – We’re ghastly martial artist tankers now.
Axe, Mace, ??? – Forget ’em…?
Jallis Legend – Fun in groups like World bosses and WvW
Mallyx Legend – Fun in WvW or anywhere overall.
Ventari Legend – Decent support but has limited “fun” skills purely all support skills for the backlines. Recc for WvW, EoTM, or SW.
Might have more opinions later.
I probably needs a better Crouching Tiger attack animation or something.
Mallyx is imo my favorite Legend atm to run with during WvW. You can also survive Teq’s condi attacks fairly easily then heal up. If you set your traits to focus only on his legend abilities you have 1 tough dood/doodette.
Personally I think Unyielding Anguish should have interruption (unless I’m not seeing it) based on the above posts perception of a ninja thing. That way you can actually SEE where they are going to end up instead of them teleporting to some random location that might cause you to screw up in the end.
I find it illogical that the harder dragon, Claw of Jormag, is easier to kill than Tequatl. I mean cmon! Balance him out. If anything it should’ve been CoJ that should been the harder one.
Asura racial skills are even more useful than the racial elites.
I’m not good on rune builds but I like a few skills…
I recommend having at least one “kit” as a utility skill like flamethrower because there are a few useful traits that revolve around it like swiftness for a period of time when switching to a kit or increased toughness when switching to flamethrower. I also recommend one escape skill if you’re a WvW’er like Elixir S or Rocket Boots.
Because opinions vary.
Best non-trolling answer you’ll ever get.
Reminds me of those ACME bomb barrels in those Looney Tune cartoons.
From what I know GW2 was designed to look good even with low resources. It doesn’t look bad at max settings either and how it handles massive crowds and skills imo. They just need to not slack off in the new creations they make on it’s textures and make them look up to date. And possibly re-make old areas with improved textures and models, etc.
I was on my alt today and I saw the daily chest pop up for tomes of knowledge. I decided to save opening it and wait til I get on my main to open it. When I got on my main. The chest wasn’t there. When I got back on my alt, it was still there. Is this supposed to be how it works?
Technically you “can” still play how you want. No one’s holding you back. But people choose to follow builds, which is is best skills, runes, sigils, boss timers, metas so it ruins the whole “play your way” motto. But it’s also playing their way too right?
I have done teq every day for nine months and in that time seen maybe 3 or 4 fails. Yesterday I seen 3 fails in one day. Teq was part of my daily world boss run as it was for lots of players, now its not.if its not fixed they just lost a regular gem store customer and can stick there expansion were the sun don’t shine
Apparently it doesn’t shine up Teq the Sunless @** xD
I’ve always been on a low pop server every time so since then I’ve never bothered due to guaranteed failure. The reward isn’t worth it.
badum tsh…
My most recent Teq fight, people were griefing and leaving I’m assuming because the losses were affecting their egos.
I feel like I’m the only one flamethowing the middle hitbox of Teq while I see everyone off trying to hit the claw(s) People only start hitting hte middle during phase 2 and that’s too late a start. It’s really not that hard to stay in the middle if you know when to dodge the stomp and the shockwave when you get the stomp pattern figured out. (And you’re heal skill.)
But if everyone keeps hitting the claw only then Teq’s going to win as usual.
IF ANet plans on fixing Teq up again I would wish they would do some major event like in the past again.
I wished they would’ve at least changed Engi’s on-ground recovery skills. They’re terrible compared to the other classes.
The only thing I’m disappointed in is that I wont eve be able to the the Teq mini… ever…and I’m not a hardcore player. But I like the challenge myself. Teq just wants to prove that he’s the better dragon compared to Mordremoth.
I like how MF is atm. It takes so long to build essence up for me to it’s max. I’m not even done. And I’m sure Artificiers have an even more pain with it.
You need to rely on casters, blasts, blast finishers, and combo field skills for Teq’s middle hitbox, but for most of those guys in the last run were hitting the claw.
Woah, really?
/Runs off to read patch notes
YESSSS! And they laughed at me for running rampager gear!
WHO’S LAUGHING NOW!? MUAHAHAHAAAAA!
Er… I mean…
Even if it’s not an instant fix for the speed at which things die, this is the way it should be. Every type of build is now a valid choice. The only reason to keep these bosses un-crit-able was to keep Zerk from being the only thing that was worth using against them. Now that group conditions are viable, we don’t need to handicap Zerker gear either.Everyone gets to deal thier build’s full damage potential now. That’s great.
Once the dust settles on this change, then we can look at further tweaks to improve the bosses’ survival, but they’re not gonna fix it ALL at once. one change at a time, and this is a good one.
+1 for Rampaging.
but really the dragon’s only crit-able in the middle-face area I constantly see everyone attacking the claws you’re only dealing less capable damage of what is able to be done.
Let’s take a moment to review from this now-incapable feat when they attack the middle…
Bring back the box! :’(
And bring back the finisher! =(
Forget about turrets, lets hope they transform them to drones or lets keep dreaming.
That’s actually a fun idea. But yeah only a dream.
Nuuuu I never got the finisher!!! T_T
There’s only one thing the new mortar weapon and sounds reminds me of…
I switched the F1-5 keys to shift1-5. I use a Naga so it’s easier for me.
This is a far speculation since we still haven’t touched Mordremoth yet, but I think these Karka appearances are linked to the Water Dragon.
Bump for prosperity. I actually encourage you to start a WvW guild. DB has a loss of them. After coming back from hiatus, I found out when I was playing that when one guild moved servers, over 18 of them followed because they wanted to win or something. Which angered me. So it’s always outnumbered in BL and Eternal. If you do I totally would join. I’m not a cmdr but it would be nice to have a few in it. DB needs the WvW players back in it badly.
how much do you use the mine? i run it as a staple in my cele bomb build for pvp and it’s bugless and incredible. no one that i have given my build to has complained about it either (once I explained how to use it to maximum effectiveness). seriously underrated skill imo.
I wouldn’t really call my build an official “build” since I’m trying to have fun. I typically run one kit, usually Flamethrower, one elixir, usually S for escapes or rocket boots, and the remaining one is open to really anything. I typically use either another elixer, or some form of AoE skill, Throw Mine being one of them. And I’m a WvW player. When I’m using that skill a lot of times I can’t tell if that skill is even going off. Or hitting anyone (pushing them away if my telltale sign.) Then there’s usually no blast animations when there’s a zerg vs zerg fight when skills are overlapping. So I thought this skill could be improved just a bit.
I’d use a suicide skill in WvW if I could take a whole zerg-ball down with me evil grin
Ironically a cmdr tried to do that last night. But hilariously he was the only one that jumped off the side.
I hate Pristine Fractal relics tbh. One fractal relic has a currency while the other takes up item space.
Great I’ll probably get prepurchasing next month.
I figured they wouldn’t lowered the price or anything. Still don’t know when prepurchase ends.
Since being in GW2 since day 1, it took me a looonnnnggg time before I realized I even HAD a house map. I’d like something implemented to make house maps more noticeable and customizable. Some unlock-able house customization items that you can find in-game would be great (grindable in WvW too)
Also a some customization tools for the house map would be interesting to make your house map look completely different from other players’. Also you should be able to entere others’ maps by right clicking their icon, etc.
I like the concept on the skill and Land Mine, but WvW-ers never pull it off pull in a group fight (or at least the skill FX are too small to notice…) my suggestions are…
Either change the throwing radius or fix the bug mentioned here
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Throw_Mine
Or change the name to proximity mine so you know it will blow up when someone or an NPC walks into the circle automatically
Or change the animation to have a more seeable graphic amidst all of the skill-storms within WvW.
Or change the skill.
I’ve seen relatively new games that screams 2007. Pretty sure one was even released after GW2. GW2 doesn’t look dated to me though.
I like that painted calligraphy theme. What REALLY needs to be fixed is the crafting UI and it’s enormous amount of long worded recipes…
I would just settle for the recipes staying in a fixed order. I don’t even care what order at this point as long as the list stops randomly rearranging itself from time to time.
I would settle for an expandable window (kind of like the chat and invo expanadables.) at least so we can see the text and item amounts more clearly.
I main a lvl 80 Engineer, I have a low lvl alt Mes, planning on making a Revenant like the rest of the world when the time comes.
I don’t mind joining multiple guilds if they don’t care about the whole representation thing (seriously they need to change that function if they let you join more than 1…)
I play GW2 in “seasons.” One moment I’m obsessively playing it, nect thing you know I’m playing another game and taking a hiatus off GW2. But for sure I’ll never leave GW2 for good. (Unless there’s a GW3.)
I want to join a Dragonbrand guild that’s active and in the PDT area. If you want me in your guild, send me an invite through my forum tag or you can also send me a mail in game.
IGNs: Mad Turok – Engie; Murdoc Wilton – Mes
I’m predicting a hammer that would encourage power and ferocity. If not probably something more of a tanker. The armor it had on made it looked like a blacksmith so it could focus on toughness and condi too.

Adding up to the stress of ANet being silent about the prepurchasing problems, toxic comments are never “gone” in an MMO. You probably just got on the gone map. Chats differ from map to map. And of course sPvP is going to have that “competitive” toxic oh-you-suck-feel to that of MOBAs. World vs World has the least toxicness imo since everyone has to focus on something unless the cmdr is a crazy cussing kitten.
oi, it’s also about the money… expac is pretty kitten thin for $50… all you get for $50 is:
- a new class
- a new PVE zone
- guild halls
specialisations, WVW map and PVP game being rolled out before expac.
Let’s not forget Living Story Season 3 and beyond. My guess is that most likely won’t be attained without HoT.
