Yeah man, GF earlier, the few things I don’t perform well against are well played Gs mace/sh simply bc they have more burst than I during the stun, and well played regen Rangers that dabble in all condi, I simply dont have the burst w/o GS,but i still manage from time to time.
If you have troubles against condos and do not build to fight them.

Please. Show me your super effective meta warrior build that deals damage AND has all these amazing condition clearing abilities you speak of. I’ll wait while you construct the best build to date that offers both damage and survivability/sustain.
Probably over the top, but, a man can dream.
-Dogged March and Warrior’s sprint combined into 1 trait
-Baseline Fast hands (May give more incentive between WS and this to drop Disc finally and take Defense and Strength + Berserker and get some offense and defense like other classes instead of being pigeonholed into defense or strength lines.
-Increase duration on stances
-Decrease RUT’s on Stances
-Or instead of baseline fast hands, Combine Brawler’s recovery + Versatile Rage + Fast hands into one trait, Replace BR with something else.
-Reduced RUT on physical skills
-Make hammer not trash
-Increase Shield stun to 3-4s
-Make Tactics and Arms line not so useless

Anet, the response time on this skill is kittening garbage. Fix it, I shouldn’t have to spam the skill so it fires off 3 seconds later after the enemy has already move from the target area.
Also, its been brought up before, if you’re using it on elevated ground, it also doesn’t work. It’s a simple game mechanic, fix it.

I’ve never really understood spirit builds outside of using the elite. They just seem so, meh.

I’ve been a solo roamer in WvW on my war for a long time and R35 in spvp. nothing to brag about, but I literally have no issue with most classes, builds, whatever and I’m pretty close to pure zerk with axe/shield and GS. 10/20/0/10/30. I beat the classes people complain about here all the time, eles, thieves, mesmers whatever, sure it’s harder, and I have to really focus, can’t just facemash the keyboard like most other classes 4tehwinz, but hey, I manage.
Everyone always talks about sustain, sustain, sustain. Warrs imo in every other mmo I played aren’t supposed to just eat ridiculous amounts of damage and be able to deal the same, it’s all give and take.
The one thing we do excel at, which may change after patch, idk, is high mobility, putting pressure on people, and insane amounts of damage, it’s insanely easy to control your opponents when you’re making them panic.
Good players will always adapt, and idc if the rest of you fade away. Maybe it’s a L2P issue. I record often, if anyone disputes it I don’t mind posting videos of myself in 1vx situations.
And mobility doesnt bother me. If someone runs, ok cya. If a zerg is inc, I’ll quick port.
Seriously not an issue, there is zero penalty for dying.

As a Warrior main I thought I would put in my two-cents about this new counter meta build.
It is over powered. Straight and Simple.
It offers mobility, High damage, Strong Defenses, and Strong condition removal.
While the counter is to carry a reliable stunbreaker and stability, the amount of times you can stun an enemy compared to the actual amount of times you can use stability and stunbreakers are unequal by far.
Does it need to be fixed? I think it needs minor changes to balance it out.
I have a hard time agreeing. Warriors are a force to be reckoned with now, they offer massive pressure, and they are scary, people cant smash buttons and expect to win anymore, this game is about ability management, if you’re coming out to wvw/spvp w/o more than 1 stunbreaker, I feel bad for you son.
The ONE class I’ve stuck with for years, Warrior, is still the biggest joke of this game. It has THE best potential for being an amazing support class, but like many others, we’re forced into traitlines and bottlenecked into certain decisions which force us out of the meta.
I’m sick of the band-aids Anet places on us whilst completely ignoring the larger issues that have been around for a long time.
We have an IMMENSE potential to be part of the meta where we can bring support and dps, but, Tactics, is trash, shouts are trash, and banners are trash. We are the same thing weve always been since beta, and that’s a 1 trick pony, fly in and die.
Instead of Bulls charge+Frenzy+HB it’s now Headbutt+F1 spam as much as we can before our stances run out and we die to conditions in seconds.
All the Warrior vets are sick of it too, we have to play top notch in order to do anything another class can do better and Revenants were just a slap in the face.
Now here we are, post patch, 3.5 years later and look at us, still garbo in comparison, still being melted by conditions, still lacking sustain and any real options. Most classes are able to have a hefty amount of defense and sustain while having great offense as well, but, noooo, not us. We are forced into a defensive roll, where we can’t kill anything, or, full offense and melt like butter. (This is spvp only, I wreck in wvwv with foods, buffs etc)
Ohhh and look, we joked for months about Healing Signet getting a buff and we’d get a regen of sorts, we’ll I’ll be darned, that’s exactly what we got. A piece of duct tape to put over our mouths and our wounds to fix the larger issues at hand.
Now, instead of being forced into Discipline traitline which is practically mandatory for fast hands and Warrior’s Sprint (a trait that used to give us an advantage) but now everyone has perma swiftness, we are now also forced into Defense as well if we want that little bit of added sustain from Adrenal Health.
So now, we get to pick between Zerker, or, staying vanilla, which is better overall for a more balanced Warrior imo. Because No one is going to take tactics or arms, and we need Disc.
So here we are, forced into traitlines that give us the illusion of build diversity. Still in no better shape then we were since last time whilst every other class, including the ones that have always been on top, necro, ele, mesmer etc continue to get better and receive more buffs.
The sad thing is, some people on the warrior forum, who love this class and want to see it thrive and shine as much as I do, put together MASSIVE compendiums and rework ideas that were not over the top that would really help us, and they allllllll go unnoticed.
I love this class, but I’m not sure Anet even cares anymore or ever did.
But hey, looking on the brightside, at least we aren’t guardians.

You dont need Leg Specialist, it’s a waste of 10 pts. You have flurry on sword F1, which you can weapon sheathe cancel into for hammer combos, and final thrust is no joke, even in my build I can hit close to 10k with it after a shield stun when someone is at 50%.
That’s worth noting.

IMO pets should share a certain % of the players attributes, many other mmos have done this with pet classes and it’s not OP or imbalanced.
The last thing this game needs is more CC from classes that have access to already absurd power creep potential via their elite spec.

This is a version of what I run for solo roam. and I utterly smash kids, including other warrs, Skullcrack+100b on me even from a glassy warrior is barely noticeable, given that I have close to 3800 armor.
And I have plenty of vids on my youtube showcasing that.

For sure man, mostly just rotating your fields, I mostly play power. Theres about 10 diff ways to setup combos with that build.
1) Flames of War on Torch 5, Savage leap
2) Combo field for LB/might stacking and huge burst is F1 and LB 3
Pretty much rinse and repeat, LB will be your major condi cleansing tool since the primal bursts always lands. Between might stacking, corruption sigil etc, youre looking at well over 2.1k condi dmg here. The damage potential is there.

This is just a matter of personal preference. Would you ever say you have too much attack power? or too much critical chance? It’s all relative, I don’t like being taken down easily.
I enjoy being able to solo camps, surviving heavy burst from gc builds and being able to take multiples. I don’t have mobility outside of Earthshaker, so staying in fights longer, i receive more benefits from high toughness imo.
Dash into battle and seize the day by fiercely rolling head first into your opponenets! Gaze at the wild wonders as you widdle away at your enemies with sheer brutality and bowling ball like action!
Enough theatrics, this build is hilarious as hell and you can actually do very good damage with dodge roll.
Basics:
Reckless dodge= 80% of an auto basically
3 stances= stances grant vigor
Increased stance duration
Quick breathing= wh skills for dat vigor and convertin dem condis into boons that will always help you do damage.
Energy sigils= duh
spiked armor= for teh lolz
GS and Sw/wh for maximum trollage should danger present itself

Running Offhand-training in both venues, I want to know why they are different, and which one is supposed to be correct.
Obviously the spvp version is far superior as it mimics a thief larcenous strike, and quickly advances you toward a target.
How about you kids at Anet look at conditions and their application instead of wasting our time patch after patch with non-sensical new trash or bugs/fixes that should have been dealt with months ago.

Condition Meta boys. There’s a reason you step into an spvp match and find 10 hambow warriors, or condi necros, or condi pu mesmers, or condi regen bm rangers. notice a trend?
There needs to be either A) immunity timers on condition applications or A stat or a combination of stats needs to aid in the defense/duration of conditions on said player and not rely solely on cleansing skills.
It’s been months of this crap. and AI is over the gd top. The players barely even play anymore.
Just going to drop in here that I felt the nerfs were pretty rough until I swapped from Paladin’s to Mender’s.
Now it feels just like before, and without any real significant impacts to damage.
I played with menders a couple weeks ago and felt i lost way too much damage
Versus Paladin’s? It’s the same amount of power. You’re just offsetting some precision for healing power.

Same thing for me, warrior was my first beta char. Always played tanks or rogues, but in the beginning it was just meh.
I feel on par with other classes in open world wvw, and as a solo roamer, I’m having a ridiculous amount of fun, which is what it’s all about anyways.
We are officially the steamrollers tanks are supposed to be, and we pose an actual threat instead of posing free loot bags.
I still wish they would have made all new weapons and given us access to a Great Axe, I want big 2h axes!

You mean you got carried, I highly doubt you won the team a lot of fights, or were a key component. It’s not that they aren’t playable, it’s that they don’t off as much value to the team comp table as other classes.

Still unsure of the swap from Entangle to RaO, it’s really great vs multiples and bombing someone.
-I personally would love to see Missile Deflection/Mighty Defense be rolled into one trait under Shield mastery. Gaining might while blocking and deflecting missiles just sounds like a few extra perks that wouldn’t be too OP.
-Unsuspecting foe affect all manner of CC, not just stunned enemies, maybe lower the crit chance to 30% or some alternate affect.
-Number increase or extra perk on Dogged March
- Better CC timers, Leg Specialist, is a 1s immob, even with 30 in Strength which makes it a whopping 1.3s it’s petty and useless, especially when people on most servers run some sort of CC/Condi dampening food. Increase duration+ add some other condi affect, like weakness, chilled, crippled, etc.
The real joke here is based off their previous balance changes, some of these are halfway believable.

That trait is insanely good. It stacks additively with all other condi removal and reduces any cripple and immob to basically nothing!
I had a feeling this was the case.
Runes of Melandru + Bowl of Lemongrass Poultry Soup + Dogged March = immune to cripple, chilled and immobilize.
I am unstoppable.
I just pvped with all three, not the case.
The problem with it is, you still don’t have sustain.
I actually tried this combination and went full defense/tactics and hammer mace/shield with shouts heal build for testing purposes. Full soldier built, ascended everything, i actually had a lot of sustain and a lot of grp support.
Knights armor with either 6/6 melandru or 4x resistance 2x melandru. Zerker weps, all Cavalier trinkets, gets you close to 4k armor, great crit % and crit dmg. Used that combo in this video. You can see the tankiness+dps.
Eh… will keep playing warrior, and the game generally, as long as I keep having fun. Besides, I’m already a Legendary Grand Champion Hello Kitty Island Adventurer, so that’s out.
