Because acquisition and holding requires different amount of players and happens at different times.
E.g.: color the map with 100 people, then all but 1 log out to score 10 times the objectives you control.
I was going to say the exact same thing. You might be able to make the point value of the objective depend on how many people get credit for taking it though. Even then, you’re punishing people for playing together, though, and that’s not a direction anet wants to go (I think).
Problem with adding things for ranks is that it rewards the eotm karma trainers more than regular WvW players.
Do you have to be the chosen one for this to work?
Care to take a guess how many hours the winners will have spent playing sPvP honing their skill rather than farming PvE? It’s going to be a whole lot more than the time it takes to make a legendary or two playing PvE…
Good fights tonight on ET BL [KCRO] Thanks all of the HoD who gave their lives and loot. Hope to see you out there again.
I was the Charr with the SAB weapons in that, good fights.
Apparently Anet supports and wants us to use Overwolf:

There are fun wxp abilities? Like what, a new siege skill or two? And ask any of the people that defend ascended gear, that small of a stat change almost never makes a difference in small scale…
It’s like they want me to stop playing this game.
Well, before too long we won’t have totally random matchups any more, with the league system, if you’re a low ranked server, you have to fight a server way above you at least once, no matter what! There, they fixed it.
Can’t say that I am. There are some nice things, but it’s not really enough to make me care.
“Your World Ability Points have been refunded to you in advance of the inaugural WvW Season” They couldn’t even be bothered to write a new letter to send out to us…
Why are pve scrubs making an opinion here?
Someone has to defend Anet blindly…
They should do that for April Fool’s, for one day only you can get actual loot off your enemies.
Got any proof? I’m fairly certain that no human will ever get the current Yakslapper. Even if you kill every yak that spawns on every map nonstop 24/7 it still takes an insane amount of time.
Oh, so your answer is that they should leave it as it is and not address it because it’d take away from HoT, got it. Guess we’ll just sit here for the rest of the week and deal with the problem they made for us then.
Because the first four ranks take less wxp to unlock, it’s to stop people from farming hundreds of them with alts, I imagine.
-10,000,000. No to open world dueling UNLESS it has an opt-out feature that is enabled by default.
That’s not far enough. Open world duelers must also travel to a remote, isolated location so I never have to see them or read their map chat-bragging or trash talking. Furthermore, there has to be a sub-forum here for people to complain about how overpowered the class that just beat them is or how underpowered their own class is, with any complaints of class balance stemming from duels not posted in said sub-forum resulting in an infraction.
Yes, how dare people play the game differently from you….what do you care? Unless there are like a dozen people dueling when you have a queue to get in, it doesn’t really hurt your server to have a few people who aren’t actively trying to take objectives…
I’m surprised at how many people apparently die to gravity and PvE. I’d expect a few, but that seems like quite a lot.
So today is the 1000th day that the game has been available to play.
Meaning you’d have to have killed a thousand yaks a day, 24/7, every day since the game came out to have Yakslapper. Something like 1.4 yaks a minute for close to 3 years…
WTB sarcasm font.
Tribulation mode is earned huh? How many of you did it with a guide?
I see no problem with this at all.100% blind run. 20~ hours marathon, at end I was like zombi, very happy zombie.
Also ran it blind with a guild mate the first day Tribulation mode was ever available. Gotta say, this decision is highly disappointing, and considering all the other problems I’ve had with the game lately I don’t have much faith or respect left for anet.
That´s a LS part i won´t take part in then. Unless they´ll add some REALLY big rewards for the meta achievement.
Well, it’s related to WvW, so I wouldn’t expect anything good in terms of rewards…
Interestingly enough not many people did seem to miss SAB until the interview yesterday, and yet now it seems like it is the most missed thing ever released in the game.
I’ve missed the hell out of it, I just rarely post things on the forums. As we all know, the forum users are just a small minority, right? Can’t claim that people posting things on the forums are just a minority, then claim the the lack of things on the forums also means a minority…
I’m curious to see what’ll happen, it sounds like completing WvW maps might not give you a chest any more, in which case they’ve nerfed WvW rewards.
I think the word was “violating”.
Some sort of trap that took a large number of people to trigger could be interesting.Say 10 or 15 people to trip it.
That really wouldn’t fly well with the community at this point, I think.
Why?
Random filler message that is ruining my point behind simply asking why, since there is a minimum character count for posting.
You can fill up the rest of your 15 characters with empty spacebar spaces.
New weapons are rares and exos, apparently.
There are griefers, sure. But people trying to succeed at an event, whether people want to fail the event to farm it or not, are not griefers. In my experience event farmers are some of the most abusive people in the game. One time a guy called my a bot for trying to finish the Lyssa event that he was farming, told everyone to report me. I mean, I guess it was my fault for being a ranger and having the gall to stand still for a few seconds, but I think he missed the massive irony in that situation…
To me it seems like they care less about the fact that it’s toxic per se, and more that the fact that they have to do a lot of moderation work because it’s toxic. (This based on the fact that they suggest we take these discussions elsewhere.)
Blockhead Magee is right, many of us don’t pop our ArenaNet tags when playing. When we do play with it on, it tends to act as a beacon that draws the enemy in like moths to a light bulb.
We are out there, even if you don’t know it.
It’s true, I’ve hunted down and stomped the couple that I’ve seen, if only to be able to say that I’ve staked a couple.
A town clothes shirt that says “I got X place in the WvW league and all I got was this lousy t-shirt”.
Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to me that some people balk at the concept of having to do WvW, and then don’t even try. Worst case scenario, you wait until your server changes colors. Now that they changed how the matchups work, it’s pretty rare for one server to be red two months in a row like it used to be. As other people have said, as long as you don’t try to do it all at once like you might with a PvE map, it’s really not so bad.
So fleeing from 1vs1 situations that you start losing or calling your friends to Xvs1 them is ok as long as no one /bowed. Fair enough.
Pretty much, it’s not a duel if you don’t bow, no reason to fight a losing battle if you can avoid it.

Funny in a sad way to look at this post. But on the bright side, I’ll get my yakslapper title in a little under 400 years at the current rate, so yay.
