So ANet solved all the main conflict points that cause immeasurably hostile communities, and you don’t like that?
I’m confused
I highly doubt HoT will have all the content of typical AAA game expansions, but I’ll be glad for it’s arrival and the options it opens up regardless
No. Convenience items like infinite harvesting tools should be exclusive to the gem store. I do agree there should be more to spend tokens on, but it should not infringe on the territory of the gem store.
Seraphim weapons, a sister and opposite BLT weapon set to the shadow weapons (Similar to how Entropy and Genesis balance each other out.
Have a light/angelic theme to them, countering the shadow skins dark/demonic style
“We’re not ready to talk about that yet”™
they really do need a “use multiple” option somewhere, yeah. nothing more annoying than standing there giving yourself RSI consuming luck
Not quite sure how an anthropomorphic cat can be sexy, but that’s just me. I don’t understand the whole furry culture thing
In game, many are actually very happy with it. I’m seeing a lot of trailblazer titles around and few complaints.
As usual, the vocal minority of disgruntled self entitled players are the ones that plague the forums, and the happy majority stay quiet and content
These events are practically impossible to completer without a large group of traited 80’s, and half the time they are bugged (looking at you, mortars), and serve as nothing but a giant kill zone for any at the map’s level.
Or at least make completing them more rewarding. I completed one once after a massive struggle with about 20 other lowbies, and all it gave was the same amount of exp as a normal event that takes 2 minutes does.
Am I the only one that knows you can use Steam to launch non-steam games and use the overlay in them?
Yea, I do it all the time. That’s why I brought this up.
For everyone else, yes, it’s about money. They could sell only the base game $10ish. Steam can basically have whatever they want out of that, and I’m sure ANET wouldn’t care. They’re trying to boost their playerbase to sell a (space to avoid censor)$50 expansion. Also, I’m assuming Gems are a huge source of income as well. Steam wouldn’t be able to profit off the expansion or Gems. Put it on steam, give them whatever % of $10 they want, and ANET still comes out on top with new players. Even if Steam took 50%, 50% of $10 is $5; and then ANET could still get that person to buy a (censored again…) $50 expansion and Gems.
MMO’s put on steam almost always get pushed in to forcing steam users to only purchase the in game currency via the steam wallet, and having other purchase methods locked out if you’re on a steam account (TSW is an example of this happening, despite the game’s huge success)
“devs proving once again they hate guardians”
Tried maining a necromancer? Then you will know true developer hatered
was a bit disappointed given May is Jenna’s Jubilee, I hope it won’t pass by uncelebrated.
Might as well post again, my necro main, currently wearing abyssal dwayna outfit until I get the TA light armour unlocked.
As a sidenote, the top of Phoenix Roost provides an awesome “selfie” screenshot area
No, all progress in everything on your beta characters do not count towards your main account at all. the beta character slots use a virtual “clone” of your existing account to allow you to access bank items and the like, but have no effect at all on your actual account.
Looking cool isn’t a good trade off to what they specifically stated with be attacks that are very slow and come with long cast times/wind ups. that alone will make reaper spec all but pointless in PvP.
Kayne West looks cool, he’s still useless and bad at his job
I for one am very impressed by ANet making such huge changes and being willing to shake things up. Most devs wouldn’t have the balls to change things so much and this causes stagnation (Need I remind people of the countless complaints there have been about the berserker meta being the only one viable in PvE?).
Good on you guys, ANet, for being willing to change it up. Condi is definitely erring a little on the strong side for the moment but in the case of world bosses I beg you to increase their scaling rather than introduce any significant nerfs to condi. Don’t make Condi’s glory die in days when Berserker has had years.
Also please look at each specific condition, rather than blanket nerf them all. Burning is by far and away the most ridiculously overpowered of the conditions right now and burn damage most definitely needs to be nerfed, but please for the love of whatever you hold most dear, don’t nerf condi necro super hard by just blanket nerfing all conditions, we’ve needed love for a long time, and this has finally given us some decent viability in various game modes.

With all due respect, I would like to put forward my opinion as one of the new players in the game (started playing last week).
What needs to be improved isn’t the systems themselves, but the tutorials introducing you to them. For a vast, vast amount of the game’s content, I’d not have a bloody clue what was happening were it not for my guild showing me what’s going on. The game offers no guidance in the form of tutorials for 90% of it’s features, and it’s very frustrating.
With regard to traits, in all honesty, looking at the traits list and seeing the massively complex tasks required to unlock certain traits unless you happen to be wealthy and swimming in skill points (ie, not a new player) is hugely demoralising. Here was a new system I could use to improve my character, but to actually make use of it, I need to gain another 30 levels and murder some megaboss/complete a map/complete a story step I won’t get access to for another 40 levels/etc.
Honestly, to me, right now, the trait system is a massive turn-off, and everyone in my guild have stated that the tasks required to unlock traits are not easy, which further discourages me from pursuing traits, rather than motivates me to unlock them.
I am curious as to how you guys get your info on what you believe actual, genuine new players need/want in the game, as from what I have observed, there’s bugger all about guild wars 2 that is encouraging or friendly to newbies.
don’t see how this would solve anything. once people got used to the new standardised movespeed there would still be complaints of everything being slow
The short version is: You can continue playing, but will not receive any content updates outside the original game up to LS2 nor be able to access HoT content except that which is made available to all (like the new WvW and PvP maps)
Your best bet is using paysafecard vouchers, you can get them at any corner shop that has a PayPoint (though you may have to explain what you’re looking for and tell them to look in the e-money section of their devices).
The downside to paysafe is that the minimum voucher amount is £10 and the minimum gem purchase amount is £8.50, so you will end up with spare shrapnel doing bugger all on your voucher (or, if you have a paysafecard account like me, your account balance) until you accrue enough “spare change” on there to get something else.
Hope that helped
Would be nice to get different colours. Main reason I don’t play mesmer is because the particle effects are incredibly obnoxious. I’d definitely pay for something like this
Every single class has been improved
Except Necromancer
We don’t need a new stat, necro just need to be given a unique mechanic for conditions. for example give them far better access to torment, or a damage over time/condition unique only to necromancer
I love the shiverpeaks, but every single map is fantastically beautiful, even a map like Divinity’s Reach is utterly amazing, but all the beauty gets overlooked by people always in a rush.
Under water combat doesn’t suck, it just needs tweaking (like not letting sharks aggro you from across the ocean as soon as you go under water >.>).
I enjoy the under water stuff and would love to see underwater combat expanded upon, or have entire under water maps
It’s an understandable concern. ANet need to get their fingers out and give us info. They need to stop with this utterly absurd “We’re only going to talk about things when they’re 100% iron clad and set in stone” policy and just talk to us.
I’d imagine it’s also horrifically frustrating for the Anet staff too but they need to speak up against their senior’s policies and a lot of people won’t do that for fear of their job security.
The silence policy from ANet has driven off quite a number from my guild and even I am slowly becoming more and more frustrated with the drips, not even trickles, of info we’re getting.
I was under the impression reveals would speed up after they announced prepurchases but clearly I was wrong. Now we’re getting info about some new tweak to the pvp map rather than the content that so, SO many people have cried out that they want to know about.
Anet: Please for the love of all you hold dear, give us the challenging group content info ASAP at the very least. Hold off on other things if you have to, but my guild and I are growing incredibly restless and increasingly disinterested.
I have been in love with GW2 since the day I started playing and I’ve defended Anet where I’ve seen I should and criticised where I thought it needed, and right now severe criticism, change and growth is in dire need.
is it really that difficult for people to keep track of boons?
Just… don’t attack when retaliation is up?
This solidifies how pathetically low precursor drop rates are.
To solve the problem of zerging, they need to create in depth content that rewards individual skill and contribution, rather than catering to karma trains
If you hate vistas just wait until you find jumping puzzles.
Seriously though, I myself really enjoy exploring the maps and finding all the high up hidden nooks and crannies, you can get amazingly views of the world without even using a vista if you really try.
I’d personally perfer to have no content for a few months and get the expansion faster than slow down HoT production for a few extra living story fillers
Yea outfit fanboys xD those who dear to say that outfits are better then armor sets.
both have their advantages and disadvantages, it’s all opinion based
You link HoT to your account not your computer so it affects only the account it’s linked to.
This. The expansion is account based, and one purchase of the expansion will only apply to one account in the game
I know what you guys are all saying, the colors, the meaning etc.
But being BL and facing the same 2 worlds in WvW going to 3 weeks now, that looks like it’s not re-setting.
You will always face Frostreach or Overgrowth as BL, the only three factions in EotM are Overgrowth, Frostreach and Badlands, and as stated, you are grouped by colour.
I’ve had weeks on end where I’ve been frostreach again and again, it’s all just luck of the draw.
As an example, this week my server (Northern Shiverpeaks) has been assigned blue on the wvw list, so this week Northern Shiverpeaks will join all other blue-assigned servers and represent Frostreach in Edge of the Mists.
Next week we may see blue again, in which case we will represent Frostreach again, or we may change to green or red, and represent Overgroth or Badlands.
What server you face in overall WvW is determined by the server World vs World ranking tier, which can be seen here (Farthest right column). If non of the servers you are facing this week change in tier over the course of the week, you will face those servers again next week, etc.
I’d love to see Dervish introduced to guild wars 2. it was such an amazingly fun class to play in GW
Consumable items are too complex for new players.
My connection is perfectly fine, but the patcher tried to download at 1kbs, then said there was a connection error. This from the number of people patching, or what?
can confirm this issue, happened 3 times in a row trying to complete it
It’s not really a big problem though, since most of the Korean and Japanese games have this kind of feature. People are complaining about the “ethical issue” of the game, but guess what, the US and some European countries have much higher adolescence crime rates/prostitution than Korean and Japanese!
This speaks volumes about some “western standard” being misleading propaganda and shows an essence of arrogance and ignorance.
People create child characters because they like children, not because they like seeing children suffered.
The simple fact is, ANet have an ESRB teen rating. They have to follow strict guidelines to maintain that rating.
As far as I’m aware, Tera is rated as Mature, and so will Blade and Soul be.
It’s nothing to do with real life ethics or morality, so stop bringing up something that has absolutely bugger all to do with the topic.
Quaggan Guardian, because Quaggan will protect you.
Or Skritt Thief, because shinies.
Ok let’s be clear and give some sample how gw² is becoming all about money farm or use your credit card (aka gems) masta powa
Average player make 10-20g MAX a day -> ok
Legendary : look price on tp, do some math, better buy ! You don’t have gold, wait gem is the solution (so credit card) that’s why some 2k ap have 2-3 legendary (thx mum)
Now let speak about the new pro system “collection” : once again look price on tp. The best joke is about Black Lion. 1 collection is arround 1900g. Atm there is “only” 13 to do so …
legendary weapons are 100% completely unnecessary to play the game. It’s a luxury item that you can chose to persue as a long term goal. If you don’t have the patience to farm (Some of my guildies have been playing since the game’s release and don’t have a legendary, because they don’t want one), that’s your problem, not ANet’s.
If you want to buy your way through the game, then for sure, you can expect to pay a lot to do so, but the point is, you are not, EVER forced to shell out money. It’s your choice, and yours alone, to pump money in to the game if you don’t have the patience to complete collections/other content over time.
Don’t blame the developers – Whose goal it is to create long term content and objectives for players - for your lack of patience
As I recall from the PoI, the tour guide is a parody of the various criticisms the ANet staff threw at each other while designing various aspects of LA. Having her with one name may ruin that “group collective” symbolism
I really want those Black Feather Wings again. A day? Really?
It was made rather clear that they were there for a day AS A SNEAK PEEK with the real release of them coming later.
a sneak peak is something you can look at to expect later on, not something ppl can already use.
it’s more a one day sale with no date of when it comes back, and that for an already overpriced item. (seriously, 800GEMs for a back piece)
The black wings were 500 gems, not 800
That’s the best lamp ever. Would buy
A large number of items are leaving the store until “Next Fall”
Living Story continuation is on November 4th, and they’re being pretty silent aboout what’s involved, so I’d say save your judgement until the 4th
I’d love to see more emotes in the game, the few we have are a bit stale. They used to release special emotes for certain events/promotions in GW1 (It’s also worth noting that GW1 had so many more emotes than we do).
I’d happily pay a few gems for a new set of emotes, or even interactive emotes you can perform with another person (after they opt in, of course)

Staffs is an acceptable pluralization. The supposed grammar kittens in this forum are really tiresome.
The only time Staffs is an acceptable plural is when referring to Staffordshire bull terriers.
Would much rather have slower, but higher quality releases, than a bunch of rushed messes. Keep doing what you do, Anet!
