So during the story, Rytlock finds a way out of the mists, learning some Ritualist-esk stuff to co-mingle with his warrior skills, and when asked what happened and how he can do what he does now, can only say hey, I found some stuff, made it work, I don’t have time to explain for all of the story, so don’t ask. So at some point, finds the time to pass that learning on without ever breaking the story flow, and that little Johnny, is how Revenants are born? Really? I feel like I either missed something, or this is some terrible retcon lol. I mean I could handle the idea of the Charr being a playable race…Love the fur balls. But for a new profession I would have expected a bit more of a back story because as of right now, unless I misunderstood, it goes that there were no Revenants, and now there are lol. I know each race has a starter story area to go do something, and then it’s business as usual. Maybe there should have been some explanatory level 1 instance, with Rytlock teaching the new class.
well, now that we cleared that up i would love to farm me some gifts. for that however i would need to be able to join the jp instance. how the kitten is that not fixed yet? it has been days.
Probably isn’t going to be fixed this year. Arenanet needs their vacations. They can’t let Guild Wars 2 keep them from their families.
which is somewhat ironic, since they seem to expect players to abandon their christmas family time for GW2.
This is another stepping stone towards the world you deserve. I hope you enjoy it when it gets here and you remember your efforts that helped to bring it about.
I look forward to the Black Mirror special that spells it out for you.
Not 100%, but sometimes I just wish bad bad things regarding some people in games.
So a guy is in LA spamming Star Wars spoilers. Nice.
PS: I’ve seen it already but C’MON!
Report it. Please!!
Why on earth is this reportable? So does this mean that no one can talk about any book, movie, or show that other people might not have seen because someone might get upset that it was spoiled? Or is it just new things? Or just a certain degree of popularity? Is there some special rubric to determine what is a reportable spoiler or not? Seriously, what makes someone talking about the new Star Wars movie a reportable offense?
I ask that you read my comments above to understand. I think I addressed your questions (before you posted them) with a reference to the immediacy of this situation.
And as I made clear, it’s my opinion that I’ve stated, while seeking input from Customer Support. From what I’m told, this person isn’t engaging in a conversation, isn’t interacting with others. He or she has chosen to stand in the heart of Tyria posting spoilers. And to me, that seems antagonistic towards other players.
You may disagree. Heck, Customer Support may disagree. But I feel that there is nothing that our community gains with such actions, and there is something that they lose so I encourage players to allow CS to make the final decision.
I was typing my question when you typed your response. I have read your response. Can’t say I agree, but everyone has their opinions and mine is worth little.
re: Why on earth is this reportable? – The OP, Gaile, and most of the other posters in this merged thread are talking about people deliberately spamming spoilers in map chat. (for the purpose of griefing) Not someone who accidentally types in local or map chat instead of whisper or party chat.
Like Gaile said, CS will make individual judgements per report.
And then at what point is it not reportable? A week from now? A month from now? After a user poll has determined that 90% of GW2 players currently playing have seen the movie? It’s a nebulous thing that’s motivated solely because some people have a vested interest in omg STAR WARS and it’s not made clear in the ToS that certain movies at certain times are reportable offenses if intentionally spoiled.
Slippery slope imo.

What ratio between game and gem is to far 4U?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I don’t really mind the gemstore stuff as long as it doesn’t have a power increase. There is always the option to farm gold in-game and transfer it to gems so you can buy gemstore items without spending real money to it.
Wait hold up. How do you know so much about the skritt and what’s the source? How do we know their leadership is based off passing the most information the fastest?
" Figure out ambiguous or opaque systems despite the designers intentions"
The bigger question is how do you know the designers’ intentions in the first place? How does this relate to skritt?
Try the wiki!
GW2 Wiki… the fastest speaker or ‘passer of information’ amongst them will inevitably become leader in any stable group. This leader is seen as Primus Inter Pares and is allowed to make strategies and plans for the future of the colony."
Sounds a lot like Dulfy’s previews and guides.
GW2 WikiThey are a naturally curious species, and in a large enough group they can eventually discover the nature and operation of any item they obtain—much to the chagrin of inventor races such as the asura
Think of all the dungeon paths, then consider how many ways people have outsmarted the “intended” mechanics. Or how about all that data mined stuff? Using broken mechanics inherent in skills too – such as the old FGS cheese, or the Ice bow AoE all hitting the middle bug (that you could consistently reproduce), etc etc. The less broken stuff even – like players finding the Aetherblade hangar by looking through the ground.
To be honest, you can twist (with ease!) any sentence from the GW2 wiki page about Skritt and establish a link to player behaviour and the emergent behaviour of player groups.
The holiday events seem to be designed so newer players and poor people can make some quick cash so they are more likely to continue playing.
So you go ahead and cry all you want. I’ll be over here counting the bank I’m making by not going for the stupid shoulders.
Whaaaaat? Nu uh. It’s impossible to make gold in this game! Next thing you’ll tell me is people should’ve saved up those fractal boxes before the patch!
- Obsessed with shinies
- Collectively amount to “a formidable intellect”
- Opportunistic even to their own detriment (eg. Exploiting bugs)
- Only “farm” with minimal effort
- Figure out ambiguous or opaque systems despite the designers intentions
- Fragmented social structure leading to no central governance
- Those who pass the most information the fastest are “leaders” eg. Dulfy
Maybe more I missed?
This line of reasoning also leads me to conclude that the Asurans are the ArenaNet devs.
If I’ve seen a movie that I liked, I’ll want to talk about it. It’s not my fault that someone else is the one who doesn’t want spoilers.
You can want to talk about it all you want, doesn’t mean you should, you don’t have more right to talk than someone else has to peace and quiet.
Talk about it in guild chat, in local chat, in real life but if you broadcast in map chat and someone asks you to not talk about it, you should stop talking.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but someone has every right to talk about a topic in map chat even if some snowflake doesnt like it. Why? Because that person can turn off map chat, go to another map, or block them. All 3 make it so that they dont see that person talking anymore. Lets get real here, I can talk about whatever the kitten I want in map chat as long as I dont break rules doing so. To that end, there is nothing you can do about it except use the options available to not see it anymore.
can i report someone for this cause that kitten is NOT COOL
Try it … I would be surprised if you don’t get some reprimand for abusing the reporting system.
Since the Internet and social media, major societal events like a new Star Wars movie is going to get spoiled for anyone and the chances will exponentially increase over time so the only way to avoid it is to see the movie ASAP, which is what a lot of people who don’t want to be spoiled did.
If you are planning it see it with family over the Holidays, turn off your phone, log off of all social media and stay away from people.
RIP City of Heroes
No you cannot. Spoilers aren’t against ToS specially the ones not related to the game. Its your fault for reading.
- Looks at fireplace.
- Puts hand in fire.
- Gets burned.
- Complaints about fireplace: “Sometimes I have ZERO faith in this fireplace”, “I put my hand on it and it burns!”.
You don’t say… /rolleyes
How many times we must say it until people gets it: You can’t prevent spoilers from the Internet. You can hardly prevent it from your daily life, like two people talking on the bus, or walking near you, or sitting in a coffee shop, and you expect people on the Internet to stop talking about something so you can avoid spoilers? Do you even realize how many people is out there using the Internet?
What will you do? Go to each and every one of their houses and bully them into shutting up about anything you don’t want to hear? That’s pure unadulterated selfish madness.
You can’t police other’s freedom of speech in open channels of communication like the Internet. You are the one who is supposed to avoid those channels if you don’t want to be spoiled. You are not the center of this or any Universe.
I don’t care about spoilers – I don’t watch stuff like that for the (normally, fairly predictable) plot.
If people worried about the plot of films, no one would ever watch the film of a book they’d already read.
It’s not “this community”. Its every community. It’s happening in every social game, and every form of social media.
The easiest way to prevent spoilers is to just go see the movie. Going to see the movie = easy. Expecting no spoilers online = not reasonable.
Not 100%, but sometimes I just wish bad bad things regarding some people in games.

So you wish bad bad things to people spamming SW spoilers? Maybe you should see a doctor or something. I’m serious.
Luke is Han’s father!
I learned my lesson with the absolute train wreck of garbage that were the last 3 star wars and the last Indiana Jones. No way I ever watch anything that fraud Lucas is associated with in any way.
Oh my god someone posted a spoiler, thats it worst community ever.
Today I was lazy for 2.5 hours trying that JP. I got as far as the peppermint sticks a few times.
But worry not, I will not be buying gifts.
Just for that I’m tempted to sell my 2 stacks of 250 a copper each…
posts like these makes me sick…
some people are:
a) unable to complete JP due to physical disabilities
b) unable to complete JP because their hand coordination is just not on par
c) truly truly truly hate JPCalling it laziness is undeserved and pathetic, their own capabilities or willingness doesn’t impact your own.
you forgot
d) “the world is full” -_-
+1 to Archon Wing, Andromeda and Pepsi. People like the OP are among the main reason that this game has lost what made it special and was turned into a plattformer with raids and a fancy story as topping.
I’m no economic guru but wouldn’t it always be better to wait until long after Wintersday ends to sell the gifts? People may still want to finish things that would otherwise be impossible without these gifts. Then you can name your price.
Don’t like Jumping puzzles, at all, which is of no consequence because I don’t want the “shoulder” piece so I’ve been giving out my drinks I get to people for free since this started. 10,000 is a lot of drinks. I won’t use them, its a holiday, and I like giving them out! So I guess I would not be listing them for any price. I get more out of giving them away than the gold they might bring, but that’s just me.
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
I farmed 8 stacks of presents in the jp so far ~ working towards my shoulders. OP motivates me to give away some presents to random people for free.
Give the gift of random kindness this holiday season and spread joy to random strangers via pixel presents! ^.^
