It is possible that players are looking for ports because they hate jumping puzzles. With that being said, I would urge Anet to drop jps from the daily rotation. Please go back to the at launch policy on jps where they are there for those who like to do them but aren’t required gameplay.

How about dropping the PvP daily from the PvE spot first? I’m talking about kegbrawl and the like.

It is one of the options to meet the daily requirement. If anyone did the jp today as part of the 3/3 to get their daily, that made the jp part of the requirement.

It’s not a requirement, it’s a choice to do the daily at all.
If you decide to do the daily you have a bunch of choices.

Choice. Not requirement at any stage.

If they hate them, why have they gone to them? There are other dailies to do.
They are not required gameplay, plenty of other dailies to do.

I love them but if there’s someone porting when I get there, I’ll take the port then do other stuff with that time I’ve saved. I actually like them being in rotation, nice reminder of things I probably haven’t done in a couple of years.

And dungeon runs? I can’t run them to save my life, but I still wouldn’t accept an easy out, because there are other dailies I can do instead. and gradually I am learning various dungeon paths because I want to challenge myself to become a better all-round player.

Dailies no longer geared towards casuals?

[…]As it is now, whenever I log in the list of Dailies that automatically show up on my UI are mostly ones that I don’t have the time nor the level of character for. I realize there are a lot more within the Hero window, of course. But it just feels like the choices have dwindled.

Well, the dailies that show up on your UI are determined by where your character hangs around at that time. So if your toon is parked (like probably most players) somewhere in the PvE world, ofc you’ll see the PvE dailies right away.
So if you don’t have much time to play and want the daily reward, you should definitely always check what else is available.

What do the rest of you think about the changes to the Daily system? And has anyone else had issues pursuing the Dailies as a result? Let’s try to have a friendly, constructive, conversation here, and not attack each other.

Dailies are totaly fine the way they are right now. There’s always one or two PvE dailies than can be done within minutes and without any effort, like Vistas or gathering materials. As for the last objective(s), there’s always something quick and easy to do. Examples were already mentioned by others: jumping puzzles (yes, there are tons of friendly mesmers around if you can’t do them by yourself), capturing ruins in WvW, kill NPCs in PvE, spend Badges, kill the WvW Harpyies.
And I didn’t mention the PvP ones yet, simply because I never ever did sPvP in the 3,5 years of me playing GW2 and yet I always managed to get my daily done without much time investment if I wanted to.

not all of us have the time to go to the 80-level zones,

If you have level 80s then you should have the level 80 zones. Like every other map there is, they are only a waypoint away from you. They are no closer or further than any other zone. Unless you’re saying something about how long it takes to do events? But events can take a long time to get 3 on any map, depending on how far away they are from you or how fast they are completed. That’s not a problem unique to the level 80 maps. All maps usually have people calling out events and pinging waypoints during event dailies.

Yeah, I do have two level 80s (I realize not everyone has the time to get that far), but I rarely play them now since I dread the LS 80 zones. I realize that the events are PvE, but it can be difficult to complete since there’s a lot of running around to do, and I’d rather spend that time questing and so forth. It just feels “out of the way” for my play style, and then I feel penalized (not earning Dailies) because of that.

Other people have mentioned the PvP Dailies, and how you don’t have to even win a match to earn the reward. To me, it’s not so easy. It still means going in and putting effort into PvP, and I absolutely loath fighting against other players (always get my kitten kicked. This has gone as far back as Halo: Combat Evolved for me. So, not a fan, sadly.).

Players that don’t have any characters at/over a certain level threshold will get a different set of dailies.

The easiest way to get rich in GW2 is to never spend any gold. After playing 10k hours you will easily have 100k raw gold on your hands that way.
With trading those 100k gold could easily be 500k gold.

And have 30 accounts feeding you about 1500 gold/28 days (or about 19k gold a year) for logging in.

I excluded options like convertig gems to gold or extra accounts since that obviously skews the results. I think it costs less than 10k USD to buy 100k gold with gems to gold option at the moment which is a pocket change for plenty of people. If you have disposable income and value your time trading gems for gold is obviously the best way to get gold. Farming gold yourself means you value your time at only like 1 USD per hour.

Having a easy income of 1500 gold or so a month also means it’s easy to say things like, “don’t spend gold and you’ll be rich.” Easy to say but not really useful to tell people to not spend gold in a cosmetics based game.

I’m not surprised at all that you think 10k USD is pocket change.

I feel bad for anyone who can just kitten away $10k and can’t think of anything better to do with it than buy currency in some online game.

Some bankers, sports personalities, entertainers and businessmen will pay $10,000 plus on a ‘good night out’. ‘Investing’ that sort of money in a game would be relatively cheap for them.

People with that kind of money play better video games

AB doesn’t generate gold. You people need to stop harping on this, it’s a red herring. It may even sink some gold because of salvaging costs and fewer keys are given out from metas than farming would require.

Suggestion - Deposit Gold

I recently had interesting experience with purchasing The Legend by mistake. Got a bit lagg, and double clicked on TP, causing to instantly buy it xD
100% my mistake, and I then crafted Bifrost to sell on TP and get profit out of it, so all fine.

But I would realy like to have some system in game to deposit gold in bank or something.
So if nothing else, I would avoid purchasing wrong items on TP in future.

But we can go further with this idea. Some kind of banking and profits.
For example: You can deposit 1000g and if you leave it in the bank for 7 or 30 days, you get 5% worth, so after 30d, you can withdraw 1050g.
But if you withdar after 29days, you don’t get any profit.
That 5% is just a random number pulled out from the sky. So just an idea.

Some might say that it would make rich players even richer, so I wouldn’t mind if we don’t get any profit from puting gold in bank.
The main reason is, to put gold somewhere safe, so I can’t buy something expencive by mistake, while I’m just looking at prices of items

Streamline Mystic Forge?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Dei Gracia.6859

Dei Gracia.6859

Hello,

I’d like to suggest a mystic forge feature that would make it less tedious. For example if I choose to mystic forge charged cores into a charged lodestone, I must double click or drag all four items every single time. This gets extremely tedious when you need to 100 charged lodestones. This goes for many other mystic forge recipes. I understand perhaps if they wanted you to feel like it’s part of that end game grind for your legendaries or something like that, but personally I just find it something that can better the quality of life for frequent Mystic Forgers’. Similar to how a recent update allowed for vendor items to be purchased in bulk easily by being able to select how many times you wanted said item.

Thanks for your time,

Can we get some kind of ETA on this? All the new stats are gated hard through Magnetite Shards. Takes 12.5 weeks of raids to get a set. The droprate at this point is beyond abysmal compared to everything else for any kind of trinkets as I’ve yet to even get one.

I meant this part: " Because you don’t want to take the time to find another squad to join for a 2nd map? Or that you don’t have enough keys for a 2nd run though?"
I do have the time and the keys but still not doing it.

@danielrjones I only did a few hours of cf, and I tried this multiloot once before I started complaining, just to see how it is…. -both were boring and a really kitteny way of farming…. boring, no skill needed… Seriously I like gw2, but the farming methods are just bad… cf or zerg farms where you press autoattack and loot… in other mmos you either farm alone or do dungeons -yes you can farm dungeons/fracs here too but thats the only way of ‘skilled’ but i would rather call it semi-skilled farming….- so yeah i think my point is clear..

We may not agree on everything but this part we do. People will flock to that which is most profitable per hour if possible. Not saying its right or wrong, just the nature of the farming beast in most mmo’s

I don’t do the multi loot thing. I was just wondering why you think it’s unfair? I could care less if people do it. It doesn’t affect me in anyway. I agree it most likely isn’t what Anet intended. I just don’t understand why you’re upset with people making a little more gold. Jealousy? Investments going south?

The person has to find a 2nd successful AB map, have enough keys, and run it. How is it unfair? Because you don’t want to take the time to find another squad to join for a 2nd map? Or that you don’t have enough keys for a 2nd run though?

What do you mean you can’t think of anything to do with it? Do you not make and gear alts? I could have hit 500 Jeweler twice over with all the exotic trinkets I’ve made. This month alone I made a couple celestial earrings and a full set of marauders.

I’ve made and geared up each of my 10 level 80s and used my accumulated laurels/commendations to buy ascended trinkets, not crafted exotic ones. Since ascended trinkets are account bound I loaned trinkets from old, not currently used alts to new alts if I didn’t have enough to get a full set right away.

I am with you on this, especially point 2 and 4, whenever i hop into a dragon stand it is 20 or 30 mins waiting, totally dead map. 2 hours meta event + 30 mins waiting, i wonder how a normal adult with a job and a family able to spare so much time to play.

Is this also how you watch TV? Sit in front of it for 20 or 30 minutes waiting for your favourite program to come on then sit in front of it with the “channel off air” message for two hours?
No? Well you’re doing DS wrong. Use the LFG tool and look at a timersite to find out when is the best time to be on this map if you want to do the meta. I randomly checked LFG when I toon hopped last night, ran mid for the first time, got a bunch of mastery points, poi’s and vistas and we successfully finished off the dragon in under an hour.

A game is entertainment, for people to enjoy during their free time…

So, is a tv show.

Do you all think the developers have learned from all our feedback?

For me…..
2. Timed maps. Dragons stand I think was the worse design I personally ever saw any game developer come up with. 2 hour meta event? Any adult does not have time for things like that after getting home from work yet alone getting into a map.

1) Dragon Stand is awesome, imo.
2) Use LFG Tool to get a map.
3) “Any adult does not have time for things like that” I don’t know what adults you know of but your sampling base must be incredibly small.
