[suggestion] Regarding Pet Seed

I’m not sure if I follow…

You only need to do the LS (chapters 2 through 4) once to complete Mawdrey. The items you get in the mail/as rewards then need to be infused in the open world to be used in the crafting of the backpiece/pet.

Try using this guide when Dulfy is back up and running again: http://dulfy.net/2014/08/13/gw2-mawdrey-ascended-backpiece-and-pet-crafting-guide/

Here’s a mirror for the meantime: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache%3A4JwMBry5I5QJ%3Adulfy.net%2F2014%2F08%2F13%2Fgw2-mawdrey-ascended-backpiece-and-pet-crafting-guide%2F+&cd=1&hl=no&ct=clnk&gl=no

[suggestion] Regarding Pet Seed

What vendor are you talking about? You should have aquired the cultivated seed by turning a mysterious sprout into a mysterious vine. The complete track is:

Mysterious Seed → Myst Seedling → Myst Sprout → Myst Vine + Cultivated Seed
Cultivated Seed → Cult Seedling → Cult Sprout → Cult Shoot → Cult Vine + Pet Seed
Pet Seed → Pet Seedling → Pet Sprout → Pet Shoot → Pet Plantling → Mawdrey + Mawdrey II

Ok, apparently there was a bug where the Cultivated Seed was wrongly turned into a bugged version of the Pet Seed. This bugged Pet Seed can be traded for a Cultivated Seed at a vendor.

Stuff like this seems like an obvious feature of an expansion pack. I’m excited for HoT, but I’ll admit I will be a bit disappointed if there are no new racial features like charr horns, asura ears, etc.

There were lots of good ideas in the racial sub-forums for charr horns and stuff. I really hope this expansion delivers.

I’d love it to be added in. It’s just the sort of thing they quietly do and then announce when it’s ready, since it wouldn’t count as a “major new feature” if it’s just a few more cosmetic options. So let’s keep on hoping

Oh yeah, it was your thread, Frostfang, I remember posting in it even!

Man, it sucks that we don’t have sub-forums dedicated to all the playable races anymore. I suggested charr horns that looked more like deer/elk antlers or even that of a gazelle. And I really do think we need an option to color charr horns too. I feel like that should’ve been a feature to begin with.

Unfortunately, I’m not expecting anything like this when the expansion hits, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to be pleasantly mistaken.

Its not just ranger pets that to this, if you summon an ally to fight for you, ( Fire ele, etc ) they also will not go and fight unless you run in, and even when you run back they follow, even though you are still within agro range.

Since, last week update ranger pets are a bit more timid when it comes to fighting the world boss Golem Mark II. They would rather stay by the player than go out there to fight. If you go into melee range they’ll attack sometimes.

Change Breathers Into Skins, Not Gear

Illconceived Was Na.9781

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-brand-new-fractals-of-the-mists-legendary-backpacks-ascended-salvaging-and-more/

At the end of every fractal, you’ll find a … fractal encryption …[that might drop] new ascended aquatic-breather recipes.

I’d like ANet to reconsider this idea and replace the idea of breathers as gear with making them a skin-only component.

  • Aquatic Breathers have never been needed to, you know, aquatically breathe (at least, never in the live game).
  • For 3 years, fighting under water has meant reduced stats and has required buying a seventh rune for every armor set.
  • For most of these 3 years, breathers were limited to sub-L80 masterwork, karma items: no rares (never mind exotics) and completely uncraftable or unsalvageable at top levels. Even now, the supply of better-than-green rarity is extremely limited.

Thus, in a meaningful sense, we’ve never really had true underwater headgear; all we’ve had is a placeholder marginally better than no gear at all (and arguably worse than nothing at times).

Accordingly, instead of adding recipes into the game to create the gear, how about if we simplify gearing up by removing this seventh, orphaned child of armor and replacing it with a skin.

  • ANet can sell breather skins on the gem shop.
  • There could still be “ascended” recipes for breathers with special effects.

tl;dr don’t introduce new breathers into the game; simplify the system and replace them with wardrobe-only skins that display while underwater.

WaterBreathers serves no real purpose.
* Use helmet STATS/RUNES
* Add a "Skin" slot, so it looks like you’re wearing one UnderWater

Can we re-fix Wings, please?

Old cardboard wings looked bad, new flappity flappity cloth wings look bad, overall wing anatomy is rather poor (totally imaginary "i think this is what wings are like kind of" anyone?
http://orig03.deviantart.net/3410/f/2013/344/3/a/daydream_wings___silver_by_thy_darkest_hour-d5q7i9e.png
Wings based on real anatomy look so much better imo, more complex, strong, and functional. http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs10/f/2006/078/8/b/brrdtut.jpg. The kind of long pointy random feather wings look amateurish and fake to me. )

Even if there’s no hope for the fake costume anatomy design, having certain parts of the wing be more flexible and certain parts be stiffer would look better than this all or nothing laziness.

I’m happier with them flowing instead of jerking rigidly back and forth when running. I think of them as costume pieces, not functional wings, just something Tyrians have made to adorn themselves.

The previous stiff jerkiness was distressing to my eyes in the same way as ceiling fans, whirling orbs around characters, flickering wasp wings, swishing charr and drake tails, or any other back and forth strobing motion is. As in I get motion sickness. So I’m all for the physics that got introduced.

I don’t necessarily want it to go back to cardboard, but a little less floaty/papery would be nice. Right now it flows with movement like hair. Feathers don’t really do that, especially heavy wings. I’m sure they’re capable of finding a happy medium that doesn’t look super unrealistic like the added physics does.

Essentially, I think they overshot their mark.

Hey all, it seemed to work once, maybe again if we can mention it soon enough (and if enough people agree). But could we dial back the “floatiness” of wings? They started off a cardboard, stiff but they felt like heavy wings, which frankly I prefered, but a little life was much welcomed.

But now they’re like flowing hairs, they float behind you in a very weird and ugly manner when moving and turning just looks silly. They certainly don’t look like wings anymore, as you could never flap these things against the wind, they’re basically paper.

I’ve attached some images that show what I’m referring to.
http://imgur.com/a/mQxgY

Just a bit stiffer, with maybe some flexibility to the lower feathers would have been nice, looks a bit silly now.

Anyone else agree, or am I crazy?

New wiki feature and interaction: Leave article feedback (beta)

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Content Marketing Manager, French

Hello everyone,

I’d like to announce here a new feature that the community of the Guild Wars 2 wiki implemented. If you look at the tabs above any article on the wiki, you’ll now find a new one: Leave article feedback (see picture enclosed). If you browse an article of the wiki and realize that it has a piece of information missing, you can click this tab, fill in the text box with the information and just click the “Save page” button. This will leave a message that wiki editors can check and then add the information wherever is appropriate (they’ll also take care of formatting it and adding any relevant links).

We’re experimenting with this feature, so please leave feedback about it in this thread. Although there’s a vibrant community of wiki editors, they could always use a hand and we’ve noticed in the past some players saying they were afraid of trying to edit the wiki, or simply not knowledgeable enough. So we’re hoping that it’ll give Guild Wars 2 players more opportunities to interact with the wiki and, possibly, become an editor!

If you’d like to share the information on this thread, please feel free to do so too! Post a link to the article and the information that’s missing, and one of the editors of the wiki will hopefully add it.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Definitely. I voiced this thought in another thread but had completely forgotten about it.

I say give us the option to use our armor dyes on our hairpieces somehow. Have it unlocked for your armor = have it unlocked for your hairpiece.

New hair colors here, new eye colors there! Look at all the plethora of rainbow pretty colors, only to be smeared by the fact we can’t get a true red or a true white/black/anything hair accessory. And since there are so many hair accessory styles, this is hard for me to ignore.

Can we make these dye-able the same as our clothes someday? Please?
There is no way you can tell me that Matte is similar to Celestial, or Autumn to Scarlet.
It’d be nice to just have all the colors we have as dyes available in the character create screen, or a small box to dye the hair accessory on the equipment screen.
