Welcome to the new and improved free to play business model; toxic behavior goes hand in hand with f2p like cookies and cream. Plus the release of HoT and all it’s attached elitism has turned what I once considered the most friendly MMO community into another typical cess pit. I think you can firmly put the blame for this change all on Anet’s shoulders so feel free to thank em for that.
I logged in just to tell you that laughing at others this way is also a pretty rude thing to do. You can laugh all you want behind the screen, but rubbing it in their faces like that makes you worst than the two guys who PMed you. I also hardly think that you’re actually angry about their accusations, this is more about the bragging in winning a 2v1 than sincerely wanting people to be nice to one another considering you’re yourself a hypocrite to begin with.
well considering there were only 3 options for this category and FF14 and SWTOR kind of suck in general compared to gw2
if a WoW expansion launched, it def would have lost, just because
but it still doesn’t fix the fact that half the expansion is unplayable at the moment, except raids
I won’t go into which is better or which has more grind, but I will tell you this.
They are two different games designed to cater to two different types of players. GW2 was never meant to be a “WoW clone”. It did things differently for a reason. To get people away from the traditional mechanics of MMORPGs and into something new.
For example, questing. Questing in WoW is done in the traditional sense with hubs that you gather quests from. Then go out and complete them and return to turn them all in. In GW2, your “quests” are the Dynamic Events. Not the Renown Hearts. In fact, the Hearts in GW2? Yeah, they were never supposed to be in the game in the first place. Anet added them after beta cause people wanted direction. Dynamic Events in GW2 are your main source of experience and the equivalent of questing in other MMORPGs.
WoW and GW2 both offer you different things. Some things are similar yes, but they play differently. I currently play both WoW and GW2, and enjoy them both. But don’t try to turn one into the other. They are made to be different for good reason. If you want that kind of stuff, enjoy it in WoW. And enjoy GW2 for what GW2 offers. But don’t try to make it into WoW.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
I spent 5 minutes on GW2 today, and it didn’t make me mad, it made me sad.
I really used to enjoy the game. Now it’s just… awkward and clunky.
GW2 has become a chore MMO.
This is exactly how I feel.
I feel sad, because this game used to be so flippin’ amazing.
I took a break for a year, and came back for HoT. I was burnt out after two weeks. Two weeks…of NEW CONTENT! As someone who played GW1 since release, and GW2 since release, the current state of the game hits people like me the hardest, since I KNOW this game used to be great, and I KNOW it still has the potential to be great, but right now, it feels like nothing.
Jade Quarry Forever.
Not exactly the most unheard of thing when making a new expansion. Blizzard gave Mist of Pandaria away for free when Warlords came out, and Legacy of the Void doesn’t require you to buy the old games to play it, and contains all the content from the previous games.
What is wrong with this company? The whole map participation issue is still here. Why the kitten do I get all my participation/credit lost from a map I was in for over 3 hours and the kittenty optimization crashes me right when the major even starts in Auric. Now all the effort lost.
Get placed into a map with no one here doing the event and I have 0 participation even thought it took me 20 seconds to log back in.
I just came back after hating the launch of this expansion and now this kitten is turning me away from the game again. Please fix it.
There are a lot of things wrong with HoT and the current state of core GW2 post-HoT that are.. just plain bad.
I, along with a lot of my friends, have put down the game for now. I log in daily for the daily reward, check mail, check guild to see if my favorite people are on, then log off.
I spent 5 minutes on GW2 today, and it didn’t make me mad, it made me sad.
I really used to enjoy the game. Now it’s just… awkward and clunky. dynamic events aren’t really dynamic anymore. Its an audiobook put on repeat, that you’re forced to re-experience over and over countless times just to fill masteries.. which are simply not rewarding. Given the lack of much needed patches and changes to the rewards all around the game, how it plays, etc… It’s not worth putting myself through as a “game” where you’re supposed to have fun. It’s just not fun.
GW2 has become a chore MMO. I stopped leveling masteries because there’s just nothing there for me, the player. It’s not a tool for progression, its a tool to time-gate the lacking content ArenaNet has given the players so they don’t immediately realize there’s nothing worthwhile in Maguuma. The story? meh. I only remember one character name. The raids? easy mechanics, but unforgiving windows for mistakes. It’s still “stack-here, go-there all together” battles. I’d even say WoW LFR raids are more enjoyable because of just the sheer amount of people involved.
PvP balance is nowhere to be found, despite the huge outcry for it to change both from the ESL Pro League players, the viewers on twitch, the forums, and Reddit.
WvW still remains the only shackle-free game mode, yet still needing changes— people accumulating 2000+ rank from the sheer hours being dumped there endgame, as opposed to playing the new content. (reminds me of 2012.. release year… before there were fractals or anything)
PvE is… someone please help this waste of money. Verdant Brink was enjoyable, until you realize how locked-in-place the repeating meta and adjacent map metas are, the ridiculous need to grind all the metas for enough XP to progress masteries so you can optimize your abilities to collect things in FashionWars2.
Maguuma is 1/3rd the size of Tyria, which for a 3 year in the making expansion is seriously lacking. Look at other MMOs and their expansions— areas just as large as the core map, if not bigger in some cases… what happened?
Armor sets almost nonexistent, instead thrown in the gem store because ArenaNet wants the money.
3 Legendary weapons introduced. Wow. That, and a couple backpieces. That’s what they had to offer?
Dungeons.. Dead
Fractals.. Grindy and lacking rewards.. on the way to having the same demise as dunegons
WvW.. mindless zerg endgame purgatory
PvP.. Mallyx Rev and Bunker Mesmer + 1 Ele meta, all used by the Pros.. game is “who can touch the caps first and sit there spamming auto attack and stability”
Huge chunk of players are stuck in Silverwastes farming gold because that’s the main thing to use these days for everything.. Heck, I have guildies who still haven’t bought HoT and are just there 24/7 because going in a circle opening boxes with F is the most rewarding content at the moment.
Hayseus Christo… what the hell happened to GW2?
To my bad/good writing…I’m an ESL speaker. The thing with English I really don’t understand how to do is get to something quickly.
Three ideas that may could help you:
- try not to write french in english, write english in english
- use the words your audience understands
- the shorter the better

WvW/Fractals/Dungeons are dead. What is left in GW2? I don’t care about the story and for the moment, I have no goals apart from getting insane amounts of gold to unlock gems store things which isn’t plausible.
What do you guys do atm?
WOAW i just saw the new update on the gemstore! That’s awesome. I mean who cares about fractal changes and the fix of stonghold! What we want is to spend more money for items that you can get by paying real money instead of playing the game. Thank god the new awesome winter glider isn’t a reward for the wintersday event: that would mean that we would have to play XD !
No but seriously good job guys keep up the good work. After Paying 45€ for a flawless expension like this, what i want to do is pay more money for cool skins, instead of wining them by playing.
I don’t want people to think “WOAW, what an awesome stuff he has, he must be a good player.”
I want them to think “kitten , that man must be really rich in real life to spend real money for fake items, i hope he lives near me and is single”.
And yes it is still possible to get a glider skin by getting gold, but thank god, no one would spend 90 gold on a glider skin, especially on this well balanced economy!

very very Boring
That might be going a bit far.
Some people just need, crave, must have an argument, even if it’s baseless, in order to seem right about something. :PPersonal flaw vs ANet wasting $$$ on ineffective paid shills in a place where you’re not going to change anyone’s opinion?
Ockham’s razor, my friend.
I get what you’re saying, but you’d be surprised how far companies are willing to go these days. Also something to consider, companies typically do not hire people specifically to do this, but rather ask/coerce their existing employees to do this on the side. EA was caught doing this some years ago when a former employee blew the whistle by coming forward and showing documents given to him to do just this on 4chan. Said he had been made to do it for years on various games, “hyping” them up while effectively being a shill for EA, praising them for everything they’ve done, etc.
I’ve had two software jobs where HR pressured people to submit glassdoor reviews, so that is a thing that can happen (and reviews solicited that way will probably be artificially positive for several reasons). But, I’ve always found (when I have personal knowledge of a company), that the negative and mixed reviews are surprisingly accurate, for something that’s on the internet. Whatever silent verification they have seems pretty good.
So while y’all argue about the nature of knowledge, I just want to throw in a practical vote that if you are reading this and looking for a job, you should really check out glassdoor on the places you interview – it doesn’t have to be a divinely ordained oracle of perfect information to point you at things to ask about or to be useful to you :P
The review stating that you have to be a “yes man” is pretty telling and confirms my suspicions. Anet is a gaggle of idiots that cant handle criticism. Why else would they post that they dont listen to any “negative” criticisms on their own forums?

^This has been my experience as well.
One thing I was happy to read on the glassdoor forum was the failure of GW2 in China. Exactly as I had felt. GW2 began changing big time with mega server, NPE, for the China launch, and unfortunately brought on detrimental effects to me and my bud’s enjoyment of this game. My bud is Chinese! Hahaha. Anyway…. Foolish moves that I feel were likely instigated by NCSoft.
The other night I logged into the game just to check for mail from another bud, and happened to see a witty conversation on map chat in Divinity Reach. Man that reminded me of old time fun before ANet killed the big RP community… Sadly for me there isn’t anything as fun as hanging out in Queensdale semi playing the champ train and listening to the witty RP players on map chat any more. Once the game removed the best game content which was created by players, the game remained was just mechanical steps. No wonder it is so boring now.
Oh, well. China launch. Done by a company that knows little about China. Lol. Sad.
You don’t have to look far
Now you know why they aren’t doing so good and are so reluctant to give answers.
Would have liked to send this somehow directly to a feedback person…but couldnt really find some.
As the Topic says im with GW2 since prestart. Im playing very regular and often. Over those years i enjoyed it quiet a lot as my 15 chars would let it assume. I tried everything in the beginning and as it is, i dont like Dungeons and Fractals much, and WvW or PvP i dislike with a passion ( this is still a harmless expression ). Im someone who likes to play WITH people instead AGAINST people.
And i’m sure lot of people will flame me for what i have to get of my chest. But i know also there are people who think the same.
So during all the time playing i’ve been watching world chat and map chat a lot. My experience is that lately the community got very toxic, especially during meta events, but not only. So if that happens im usually turn off chat or say something to help. Often enough i get flamed just because i try to help. Or offer a solution.
Nonetheless it really is happening now that i refuse to do so, as it’s not rewarding or leading to something.
Also the Frustration Level with this game increased a lot for me. I was looking forward to the expansion, being a player of GW2 and for the most liking it a lot. So after release of HoT i was really into it to see what, where when and how. Soon enough i got to the point where i thought, why did they do that? It is not fun nor rewarding, it is annyoing and blocking the experience of a good game. I am speaking here of the the fact that a lot is locked behind the success of certain activities. For example mastery points for those so called adventures, just terrible. No fun and most annyoing. If i wanted to play a jump and run game, i would play something else but not GW2.
At a point where i want to level masteries, im blocked because i cant get the necessary points. As mentioned they are locked behind those activities and other options that are way to extreme of unplayable ( again here the adventures, or the achievements of the story, really some of them are way to difficult).
One of the biggest disapppointment is the precursor crafting, as someone who never had the luck in all the time to find a precursor, i was looking forward to the crafting. And got screwed over big times.
You know, forcing someone to play a certain playstyle to get the needed materials to craft the precursor is simply wrong, most wrong. Why do i need to play PVP or WVW, for getting this? Why were you not so considerate to actually put in the options for PVPers to get the stuff their way and PVEer their own way. To connect this was always wrong and inconsiderate, not customer friendly. I mean it is possible, just look at the fossilized insects for amnrite weapons, PVEers do the events, PVPers the reward track.
That’s how it should have been. I’m less annoyed by the fact that the pre crafting takes a long time and a lot of money that is needed over time. Never had it anyway. But i would have been able to get it over the time.
Same locking problem goes also for some collections. You need this event to get that item. Great….event hardly shows up or in case of Meta, failes 99% of the time ( yes thats a sidekick to the dreaded Tangled Depths map). This map must be the most disliked/hated one ever. Just today i read a conversation between people. Example: TD is a good map, if you dont enter it… Anymore questions? I have not seen this Meta being successful once single time…and i dont know how often i participated…im actually tired of it currently.
On the other hand my favorite map is Auric Basin, this is the most beautiful one. I like the story around the exalted and hope there will be more in the future.Fazit: for someone who enjoyed the game a long time, im tending more and more towards ‘meh, no thank you’…. i hope and wish for better times again. I want the joy back.
PS: Oh and for the love of life, get a new RNG, this is just hilarious….ppl who are with the game from the beginning get hardly anyhting and new accounts getting everything thrown after…
So now i have the most of my chest. Please refrain starting a flamewar.
Also would like to talk to some player who think the same, to see what everyone is about to do and go on. PM me? ^^
Thoroughly enjoyed your post. Thank you! I am playing other games until ANet finishes balancing this expansion. Life is good if I have fun. It Is also fun for me to watch the Gw2 forum now, like watching a Titanic movie. I hope you have fun too, whatever choice you make. Just stick to only doing the things you like. And remember all mmorpg games are putting up their old expansions for free, or for very low prices. It is a good strategy to pick up another game, and come back after you read about the changes. Take care.
I don’t agree with everything you said, but I think you made some good points. Unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears when it comes to the people who matter.

No. Each part of the game they touched they messed up.
This is not all that negative a post.
Imagine for a moment you’re a company that has great employees, but is dysfunctional in command, communication, and implementation? Probably some real issues with gender equality too, internally if the rumor mill is true. Put all of these in a basket and set it aside for later.
Next, imagine you have that basket and you’re aware of it. You can’t resolve it so how do you survive with your business intact? Likely you will decide to get it through this season without the roof leaking.
World of Warcraft and now Black Desert have both been looming large on the horizon for Anet. How does a company with a lagging product slip through this financial year? Drop its dower seasonal releases of puppet theatre and make a product again. Thus, Heart of Thorns.
It wasn’t like we were getting a bad puppet theater. They’d mostly stopped the side-by-side thing by the end of last season, but the game’s future was looking pretty bleak. Scarlet had really gotten people back into the story as a serious thing, the world was looking great, then suddenly it was like someone walked in and shut off the lights. This drags on for awhile and people start thinking, “Yep. It’s finally happened. All those years of weird communications, contradictions, and now the game’s over.” Instead, we get word of an expansion coming.
The rest is history… sorta. We got the expansion, but it’s pretty much 180 degrees (on several many vectors) from what the game was before. Some calculus later lands us with a bit of a ‘boom’ and possibly a ‘bust’. The artistic talent that went into making the expansion was brilliant, but underhandedness of the boardroom panic in the design has really caught many in a bad way.
It’s somewhere around here that there seems to be the firm divide between loving Heart of Thorns and hating it. Just on the merits of Heart of Thorns. I’m not delving into anything else. And to go a step further I am not going into Open-World, WvW, or PvP all that much.
Along the way towards Heart of Thorns we got word there would be Guild Halls. And we could upgrade these things, customize them, etc. That all seemed pretty charming. In fact, it was probably the biggest selling point for the game. Why? Well, let’s face it. Dungeons were dead, Fractals were dead-ending, Super Adventure Box has just never come back, WvW kept getting ignored, and PvP really saw not that much to get happy over either. In short, it was pretty certain if anything at all came from this expansion that would be good it would be everything we saw and got to try out with the Guild Halls.
Necessarily this would include Scribing as we knew whatever was going to go into decorating our Guild Halls, it would come from that profession.
Skip ahead to release and… Hmm.
The biggest issue, single biggest issue, with Heart of Thorns all around seems to be the grind. Originally, especially first playing Heart of Thorns I was firmly on the fence, “You people complaining need to toughen up just a little bit. This is clearly meant to be the end game content we’ve been saying we’ve wanted. It’s very old school. What’s the complain about?” I frankly, couldn’t get it.
Then around level 41 in Masteries I was starting to notice I still had 120 Mastery’s to go and I couldn’t be asked to do them. I’m level 99 now and I really am not trying. I haven’t been for a long time. I’ve wondered why, but in the back of my mind it’s always there. “I couldn’t care less about these things. I got the mobility skills I wanted, may get one or two others when my experience bar gets there, but I’m far past caring any longer. Frankly, this is boring. Moving on from this junk.”
And I did… I went back to crafting Ascended Weapons. I’m not sure I have any reason to do this. In fact, I’m sure I don’t. Nevertheless, I’m a min-max freak, so this occupies my time when I’m trying to find something to do. I went to buy a Deldrimor Steel Dowel last night and found myself tilting my head at the price. I blinked a few times, put my crafting supplies back into my bank, and decided I could find more productive uses of my time.
This returned me to thoughts of the Guild Hall. I dumped a fair bit of mats into upgrading ours at the start of things. I’d been commanding Silverwastes quite a lot so I already had a good deal of stuff there we needed. I’m a hoarder so that worked out. Turning around and working on Scribing though…
There’s something to be said for a game that, in three weeks time, radically cuts down the size of my guild because someone thought making the only piece of content we were really looking forward to basically out of reach and out of sight.
If you’re a guild formed specifically because you are interesting in being social butterflies rather than min-maxers… it’s very likely you’re poor as dirt. Not just cumulatively, but member to member as well.
If you’re a guild formed specifically to get on with staying peak in your game, this is still a pretty considerable challenge, but one that’s reachable.
For most of this last week I’ve been mulling over my ideas on just how to get this Guild Hall thing started. Then further, to do scribing. It’s quite the chore. No big deal if there was any sort of content in Open-World to speak of, but is there?
I find myself answering quite firmly, “Absolutely not.” Heart of Thorns plateaus in content quite early and goes on demanding a grind far past having anything at all worth calling “gaming”.
Individually, as a single person climbing up in the acquisition of Mastery Points there’s something to do. Waiting for the experience bar to fill up is not. That’s really all it is as well. Just waiting for this yellow strip to get on with its life. We got on with ours about the same time the mobility skills ran dry.
It’s at this point the game itself is done.
From here on out Heart of Thorns becomes the quest for skins or stats.
This is why people are quite so angry with the game as they are. You really can’t tell people they are “gaming” if all they are doing is “farming”. And “raiding” isn’t exactly “gaming” either.
Why?
It comes down to what the game is. When we look at the things we have to do for the Guild Hall each and every one of those things is not an achievement accomplished by going off and doing something in the world it’s something we have go farm.
I love Silverwastes, but asking me to go live there? Um. No.
I love Dragon’s Stand, but asking me to go there for 2 hours a night? Um… NO.
So, no.
Just no, everything.
Heart of Thorns is about timers and time-gating. Plane and simple. It’s not an expansion, it’s a way to get Anet through this season without going belly up.
Unfortunately, by the sheer amount of negativity everything around this expansion has brought I’m starting to think I need to rethink my calling it “brilliant”. It really looks as though, first Anet or more probably NCsoft panicked with Warlords of Draenor on the horizon. WoW players were getting Garrisons, we got Guild Halls. Black Desert creeps into certainty for an NA release while Blade and Soul is releasing with outdated content… We get a full on expansion. Why? Cover your bases. North America and the EU’s going to get Blade and Soul and cry foul. So, after the big sails, it’s back to getting people back to the Gem Store.
Except… everyone sort of processed this around week 3 of Heart of Thorns launch. So instead of just upsetting the Blade and Soul people… it’s the Guild Wars people, too. This puts things in an awkward light because that Legion expansion is coming to WoW and Black Desert is basically here already. Whereas NCSoft is out of games.
Since launch, GW2 prided itself as having one of the best, if not the best community of any MMO and rightly so. Always friendly, helpful and more than willing to assist those in need, at least this has been my experience and i’ve always done the same. I’ve lost count how many times i’ve died trying to help others.
But HoT has changed all that. Right now in HoT, i see fewer and fewer ppl willing to stop and rez others, or answer a call for help to kill that rabid champ on steroids and its hordes for that HP or w/ever else and it’s getting worse by the day. Even 2 weeks after HoT released, i noticed a decline in those willing to help others, eventhough they all know, these HP’s can’t be soloed. I’ve been in situations where i’ve spent an hour or two asking for assistance with a HP while trying to do events, especially in TD and DS and not one person would reply or come to help, even though i know there’s lots of people in the map.
Despite many difficulties, including my ridiculously high ping, I’ve almost completed DS, just need 1 HP. This last HP i need is guarded by the Spider Queen and is only accessible during the 15 min timer after the successful DS meta and i’ve been trying to get it for days now. Most times when i log in there, the map is deserted. I’d ask in map chat if anyone was there, but no one replies. I’ve had to resort to LFG and on an odd occasion I’ve managed to get a taxi into a good map and got most of the stuff done, except this one HP.
Finally today, i managed to get to it and it’s the most crazy set up I’ve ever seen. It’s like this HP was created by some lunatic goofball frankly. Not only is it gated behind a successful meta and being timed, but it’s very hard to get the Lay Line updraft that starts off the ground and virtually no place to launch from and open ur kite. But once u do get up there, u r in a small area full of spiders, many of them vets and finally the Champ Queen.
I was there alone on my necro, so i summoned my minions thinking they would take attention off me while I commune, but the spiders completely ignored them and just kept on me. The HP is situated on this small rock pillar and whenever i tried to commune, they all rushed at me and each of their hits would interrupt my commune. So i tried to kite them away, but it was no good, they seem to be programmed to stick to the player and i couldn’t shake them off no matter what i did.
I knew the map was populated, we just finished the dragon event and i could still see a few commander badges around the map and while running for my life, i somehow managed to type in map chat asking for help. No one replied, so i repeated the message, pleading for help as i was running out of time, but no one responded. In the end, the spiders overwhelmed me and killed me and i saw this HP slipping away.
Eventually, a lone thief came (thank you whoever u are) and tried to rez me, but i could see he wasn’t going to make it, so i told him no to die as well. He apologized for not being able to help, there was just too many mobs. It was pointless anyway, even if he managed to rez me, 2 of us couldn’t deal with the 30-40 mobs running rampant around the HP, so he left me there. Then with barely 1 minute left, another thief came and actually got me rezzed (i was already partially rezzed by the first thief so it was faster and many thanks to you too) and that very instant, the map reset and i was killed off again and spat to the beginning of the map.
You know Anet? You’ve destroyed my enjoyment of this expansion, but I’m determined to get that last HP one way or another (to get some value for my money and to have at least one char with 100% maguma) and then i’ll never go back to those places again, let alone try map completion on my alts. It’s just not worth the frustration. And just so you know, exploration is my favorite thing in this game. Prior to HoT, I had 9 characters with 100% world completion and they all did it when WvW was part of it. I had every intention of doing the same in HoT but no thanks. I’ve had enough.
That spider queen HP is ridiculous in so many ways. One lone thief coming to help me in a map full of people? While needing 15-20 at least, is what makes this content utterly ridiculous. Not to mention, having that 15 min timer after dragon dies to get it done when u loose at least 5 minutes just getting to the boss chest. What made u think that weeks/moths after HoT release, one would be able to gather 15-20 willing ppl required to kill those mobs and get that HP? It’s barely 6 weeks in and you can’t get the help needed, let alone in months to come. So why should i really even bother bringing my alts through there? The meta events are just like any other for me, tons of blues and greens and an odd rare. All that stress for what? Where is the fun in this?
What I see has happened here, locusts who purchased HoT have already rushed through in the first couple of weeks after launch, got their map completions done with a zerg and all they care about now, its their lootz. Since everything in GW2 is on timers, people don’t want to waste theirs helping others so much anymore. And so, those of us like me, who took their time to actually try and explore the jungle and appreciate all your amazing artistry, well good luck to them in completing these maps.
It’s a real shame and I truly hope you will make map completion in HoT a viable thing not just for now, but future players as well.
PVE – past,present,future…
Past : best MMO experience I had since WoW vanilla.
Present : I need to schedule my time in order to complete meta , I depend on other 50 to 100 players in order to succeed a meta ……quite mediocre experience
Future : Black Desert online ? :P
I’m in the process of getting this achievement as part of my latest run through the personal story.
Honestly, this is something I’d expect to see in a junior high school science fair project. The title could be: “Masochistic Gaming, how far will they go?” Very often I find myself wondering if I’m undergoing some sort of testing in this game.
There’s no real skill involved. I have learned that by trapping the wolves in a confined space like a doorway, I can play a game of strafing attacks and only die 5 or so times per wolf.
This achievement lacks any imagination or meaning. It is pure sadism and reminds me of the one aspect I really dislike of GW1; the epic grinds. An achievement should mean something more than a verification that the player is hard headed enough to suicide 100+ times.
Very poor job on this one ANET. It would be interesting if there were some task such as hack the code to turn on the poison gas. I do note the adrenal mushrooms and the berries. Is this some not-subtle-at-all “encouragement” to level Itzel skills?
Can the developpers please stop ignoring us?

If you crash at DS just use 64 bit client. Dev respond more often on reddit because people there are not raging mobs who trying to burn down castle Arena net.
The irony is that Arenanet self created that environment with their refusal to communication. And it seems that they understood that they can´t fool the people here any longer.
