If you’re going to get hung up on the technicality of the suggested group prompt (not even required, just suggested) despite multiple people and one of the developers of the thing itself telling you it doesn’t require a group, then I don’t really know what to say. I guess you’re needlessly missing out.

The suggested 5 man group prompt is just the standard dungeon warning. Its there because its apparently hard-coded for instanced dungeons to have it or something, not because it actually applies to SAB in particular.

SAB is not intended as group content. Its solo content that you can group up for if you so choose.

This is exactly what my guild looks like as well. I think the OP just needs some new friends.
To all those saying they need to sit down and do some polish updates, what do you think September is? New crafting to 500 AND new crafted exotic stats, more reward updates for doing ALL THE CONTENT IN THE GAME (JPs, Minidungeons, Bosses, etc.). Now in the 2nd half they are introducing the LFG tool and updating both WvW and World Bosses, which is what people were crying about before this recent cryfest.

If there is something to do when people log on then the living story is working. If there is too much to do then players have to pick and choose the bits they enjoy most. It is much better than there being nothing to do (other than the same old stuff) which is the endgame state of most MMOs.

regardless! i shouldn’t, WE shouldn’t, have to use 3rd party functions for things we should be able to do with our guild mates/friends and server populations.

It’s not the games fault if your guild members don’t want to hang with you.

Only that they won’t go away completely, it’s permanent content, they will still happen from time to time, randomly sucking the population from the rest of the world.

Only, you have no idea what the frequency or intensity of the continued events will be. SO why do you insist on continuing the doom and gloom attitude. It’s like you want to be upset about the invasions.

Funny thing about invasions, the land being invaded gets messed up real bad. Things that need doing, just don’t get done because everyone is off fighting the invaders. For myself, I happen to like what’s happened. Once the invaders go away, things will get back to normal. That’s why it’s called a living world.

Few points:
-I do beleive it was mentioned that the Aetherblade Retreat and Molten Facility may have a place in the fractals.
-Scarlets invasions is permanent.
-Revamped Tequalt is permanent.
-All WvW changes and additions were permanent.

That’s just a sampler of recent things, people need to realise that
A) they cant make things that everyone likes as their will always be people who disagree, and those are the loud ones.
B) We get a lot for content for not paying a dime unless we want to :P

Hard to tell if the content is light or not. We don’t know how much the other world bosses have changed, nor the amount of story that will come with the patch. When people saw the Queen’s Speech page they found it lacking in content, yet, we got something completely different than the expected “speech”.

Rather than making speculation based on a content page it’s probably smarter to just wait and see.

I think this too. Im curious why they would have a livestream Friday vs on tues like they usually have done? Revealing something maybe?

Mainly because I really like everything in this update.

New/updated bosses.

LFG tool.

WvW major update.

A new 80 player raid with Tequatl.

Fantastic…going to be playing loads from the 17th vs not playing at all those last 2 weeks of SAB.

Its all PERMANENT too…yippee…

Also, the ‘story’ in living story is there really one? Or is it a bit of a excuse to sell you new stuff in the gemstore?

Now new areas before 2014, that’s what they said.

By the way, if they improved ALL the bosses as the page says, that’s a lot of content for a biweekly update.

And the WvW update is like half of a new map.

“We have no first-person view because stupid people would lock into it”
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”

Personally if there is no story advancement I would not be too upset. Honestly we need a break every once in awhile. Give us time to level up our alts. Do some personal story. Do some WvW(Especially starting October).

Oh a better title may be Light on the story. Different people call content different things.

Kind of makes sense to me. The last month or so was pretty heavy content wise, so this month we have SAB (which is a lot of content but lighter in context) and an update to some world bosses. It’s a nice change in pace after all the Aetherblade / Scarlet stuff.

Why doesn’t the big huge heavy dragon just start rolling around on the ground, thereby crushing anything and everything around it that hasn’t emulated brave, brave Sir Robin and bravely run away?

When you are a big huge heavy dragon, falling on the ground is gonna hurt.

Nevermind that he probably isn’t aware of the damage he’s getting until it’s too late. Dinosaurs needed what, 30 seconds, just to realize their tail has been already bitten off?

This, you know the saying “The bigger you are the harder you fall?” Yeah it exists for a reason. Like for example why if I jump off the Sears Tower, I’m most likely going to die…an ant on the other hand will live since it’s mass won’t cause it to go splat. Same thing for Tequatl, I can roll around on the ground all i want to, but if he does he’ll injure himself…..in fact, yeah Im now going to make fun of him my constantly evading everywhere in front of him so if you’ll excuse me…..

What will happen is that you’ll have those 80 person mobs for about a week steady and they’ll be an awful lot of complaining, name calling, and berating in the map chat towards anyone who doesn’t seem to be “doing it right” – ten times that for a loss since the penalty is death and no loot. In fact, prepare the bottles now for the QQ tears.

BUT for that week, the hardcores will be grinding away at it to get the achieves and items…

And then no one will care. It’ll be too much of a pain to get that many people together to work together for a lengthy period of time for an uncertain or for no reward. Casuals won’t have the time or skill for it. Hardcores will have all they need from it and will be back on their champ farming trains. And the rest of us will have no hope of finding 80 man teams.

Not to mention a LOT of us are running on 20 fps and an 80 man mob plus a dragon plus the environment.. hahaha… to quote the bandits “You’re kidding, right?”

It’s a nice idea but… =/ I’ll give it a try during the first few days. It’d be nice to be wrong but judging by the amount of dead events in Orr and everywhere that isn’t Queensdale…

Do you know why people farm dragons? Because that uncertain reward precursor drop chance. Do you know why they had to put a limit on how many times you kill a dragon? Because thats all some people do for the chest.

What makes you think people aren’t going to farm the hell out of teq when he is THE ONLY BOSS in the game that drops specially skinned ascended weapons, a minature and other ascended specific mats?

You haven’t been playing GW2 very long if you think this encounter will be dead after a week lol.

From how I understand it, the turrets remove his stacks of armour defense, so if no-one is manning them and removing the poison around the area, healing the people at his feet, and removing his armour stacks, they probably won’t be able to beat him.

It’s basically an event that requires co-ordination to succeed. Not just standing there and hitting 1.

They mentioned the rewards have been revamped for him, including a chance at ascended weapons and a mini Tequatl and a unique ascended skin that you can only get from Teq.

The same as now. 4 blue 1 green?

For such event we should get exotic and rares not blue or green.

Ascended drop from boss will be like precurosrs now?

No he will drop ascended crafting materials, a chance at a mini Tequatl, a chance at Ascended weapons, and more. I highly doubt they’d keep it at 3 blues and a green for what they’ve done to him.

My jaw dropped when that huge tidal wave came along. Can’t wait to try this.

But, a bit of a suggestion for future bosses revamps though, I can see why Tequatl can’t move much because he needs to be surrounded by Hylek cannons and the Megalazer needs to be pointed at him, but with things like the Shatterer, can you guys make them move around the map a bit more?

Also, this does bring up a few concerns. Although Tequatl is aweosme and worthy of being a dragon champion now, he does seem harder than the other dragon bosses now. If they all dropped the same stuff, wouldn’t that mean everyone would go to the other bosses simply because they’re quicker to kill? I mean, not everyone wants the mini.

that’s what MMOs are, constant change. Nothing is actually perfect on release and even if they are, down the road content tends to get revamped to make them fresh.

I just home that this new revamped content isn’t the only content for the release.

Well they said in the panel that most other large world bosses will eventually undergo this change, but you’re right I hope there’s more. Regardless that Tequatl update has my jaw dropped at how incredibly awesome the fight is now.

ArenaNet. You guys have done well with this revamped encounter. Making the waypoint contested to prevent zerging, making it have more health, do more damage, have more mechanics and require more than just mindlessly shooting at his foot..

Dropping ascended weapons and materials, dropping a mini Tequatl, having its own achievement list! This is incredible. I hope the other dragon and meta events follow the same pattern shortly but I am genuinely impressed.

Please leave it challenging. Tweak if needed (extend the time alotted or something if anything at all) but PLEASE do not nerf it. It looks incredible and I can’t wait to give it a go!

The updates exclusive to PvE and PvP are hard to compare. Almost all PvP features require very intensive programmer and server support like solo queue, matchmaking, custom arenas, spectator mode, etc. Living story updates leverage existing technology to advance the story and expand content with new mobs, crafting recipes, dungeons, etc. PvP has few areas expandable by content; the main feature being maps which we release regularly. Balance updates affect all parts of the game and don’t come out for one any faster for one than the other.

The most important part of the buff is the points on staked player.
If you are in a Borderland you will be wanting these points for your team.

Don’t forget this, if you get the buff taken off you will not be supporting your server.

I wish they won’t allow anyone to turn the buff on and off. This is World vs World. 1v1 is SPvP.

GvG is.. well… not an option supported by Arena.Net yet… maybe in another game you will find what you are looking for.
