AikijinX- [Mada] [MILF] [HUNT] 7.3k Thief Hours
Defend Your Back
Thief underwater Towline : Throw a tow line that pulls you to your foe and cripples them
Damage: 168
Crippled: 3 s
Range: 900
~No where in the description does it say anything about the user getting dazed. Anet please, myself and the rest of the Thief community would like to know the reasoning behind this?, because this bug has been unanswered for a long time.
Idea is simple. Either,
Reason being this would add some support utility to a thief operating in a zerg. Taking Needle Trap as an example. The Thief could stealth into an enemy zerg from the flank after a push, lay a trap, and catch 5 members of the tail with immobilize. This would create an opening for an organized force to turn around and destroy them.
Tripwire would work well in the same way but on an enemy push (in that sweet moment before stability is called).
Everything I read about is crafting a precursor.
Enough with it!
Get so many of that material, so many of that other one. It feels like a bad Japanese game.
So instead of forcing me buying stuff (T6 craft) or running a thousand world bosses, make it so I have interaction with Tyrian people. Make me use my brain, make me travel accross Tyria, make it take time so I can enjoy getting that precursor, but be careful: don’t make it boring or dull, I don’t want another Trahearne story. Use random wisely, make me go on a quest for once. Also, make it hard. Not huge-life hard, but i-have-to-use-my-brain hard. Make this part a complete adventure. See Indiana Jones (not the last movie, but the others, or even the Indiana Jones Atlantis game), make it like that. This quest should take roughly 20 hours and should not be doable in under 5 if you skip everything and kill everything on the first try with zerker. Also, it should be properly scaled if people do it together and most of all, it has to be exploit-proof.
If you’ve already finished implementing the recipes, just scrap them and rethink. Crafting is the way of the lazy both as developer and player.
TL;DR: Make a new game to get the precursor. Seriously.
lets have a new tick box in the f11 options menu.
lets call it “override out of range”
once toggled, area of effect skills with a green targeting circle will activate (can be clicked) even if “out of range” except that the skills will only be activated in the max possible range.
tl; dr
yes, i want to use f1 burst skill earthshaker effectively as a movement leap skill.
so what does everyone else think?
with these new feature in, short bow thieves also can travel very quickly with Infiltrator’s Arrow short bow 5.
at the moment, we need to manually find the sweet spot and then left click, if we try to left click when out of range, nothing happens. so sad.
edit:
i am not sure where to post this.
this seems like a general feature request, not exactly profession balance.
how? O_O

Warriors should not have any weakness.
They are supposed to be the ultimate class at everything in this game that everybody
uses and loves.
For whatever reason, some people prefer to be weaker and play a class other than Warrior because they want “variety”. But when given the choice between a fresh tomato and a rotten one, the same people always choose the fresh tomato. Double standards.
The sole reason why other classes exist is for you to compare them with the Warrior. If all tomatoes were fresh, we would not know which one to pick, but if all of them are rotten and one of them is fresh, the choice is obvious.
Some people even say that they chose a different profession at the start of the game and decided to stick with it. But if you ask the same people this:
If you bought a tomato and found out it was a rotten one later on, do you follow through and eat it knowing that you will get sick? Or do you go buy another one making sure it is fresh this time?
They always answer that they went to buy a fresh one, but they refuse to re-roll a Warrior.
Please stop trying to rot the only fresh tomato and choose Warrior as your class. That way you can be happy as well.
I wish there were some Veteran versions of the wardens scattered about the map between fights – or guarding the probes, maybe. That way people could maybe get a hang of the mechanics in a lower pressure environment.
Considering how many people dies in Lyssa, Jormag, other world boss encounters, I’m not even surprised.
Anyone else come here and just lol’d because it’s mostly PvE?
touche! got me in and i thought it was a crit on wvw on a bunker guardian kitten nnnn.
Anyone else come here and just lol’d because it’s mostly PvE?
Engineer, 1 minute.

I could no longer create a new topic in the Suggestions forum so I guess I’ll just leave this here. I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. Anyways.
After working 12 hour shifts at a mind-numbing job, I tend to zone out and just think hours on end. On one of many of these occasions the subject was Guild Wars 2 and what is an idea that could be implemented to further my gaming experience. I probably have a mild case of OCD, so I like to go about things in an organized manner and this would help my OCD tendencies as well as make my GW2 experience better all-around. This is what I came up with and I believe it could be a great implementation to GW2.
The Hero’s Journal
What is the Hero’s Journal?
The Hero’s Journal would be an in-game document system that would allow the player to record and save text documents to help the player progress. There could be MANY uses for this system, here are a few examples that I have come up with:
• Note Taking
• Self-made guides
• Character oriented short story (for those literature junkies)
• Game Strategies
• Guild Member data sheets (For those organized Guild Leaders)
• Profession Build storage (since we don’t have this already)
• Keep track of daily character tasks (Making Charged Quartz and Bolts of Damask, etc.)
Now you may be asking what specifically do I mean by a player made documentation system. I consider myself a pretty decent player, but there are those times that I forget a certain place to stack, or a certain boss attack that I need to dodge, or a particular skill that I need for a dungeon and I end up being calling a “noob” of sorts simply because this is particular content that I have not done for a while. If I had my own in-game note taking system, it would eliminate this problem.
Say I haven’t done fractals in a while, I’m about to fight Captain Mai Trin, and I’ve completely forgot that you need to pull her into the lighting aoe attacks to drop her shield down. What do I do other than look like a complete noob in front of my party? Well, the solution is easy. I could simply press a hotkey or go into my Hero’s panel, click on “Hero’s Journal”, go to the section I’ve labeled “FOTM” and read my notes on the mechanics of this fight. Not only would the fight go a lot smoother after being refreshed on the mechanics, but I wouldn’t embarrass myself in a group of pugs, get kicked from the party, and lose all the time that I dedicated to getting to the final fractal.

This should be moved to a PvE forum. Has absolutely nothing to do with pvp or wvw. It’s a brag post and “how to pve in WvW”
I’m hoping that in the next balance/content update they will fix the minimap. It keeps immediately scrolling back to center on your character regardless of where your cursor is. It makes it really impossible to use the minimap to do anything besides look at your immediate vicinity.
Get off the wall and come open field fight
For real. Drop the idea that you need to AoE from the safety of a tower and get out and push.
yeah sure lets push out with the 10 people vs that awesome 50 man zerg
Lets be frank here. 50 men should always win against 10. No amount of force multipliers will change that fact. A 10 man garrison can hold out longer by destroying rams in front of gates, forcing the 50 men to play more tactically…
But at the end of the day, the bigger group wins in WvW.
The trick is for the ten to hold out long enough for the reinforcements to arrive.
As you are playing against Augury Rock I’d recommend you to check out [EscG], they seem to have an interesting setup for 6VsX.

Alt-F4 does nothing. I still get your bag and wxp. In fact, if you alt-F4, you are giving your opponent something better than killing you… they made you quit. They still got everything they would have if you had died (your loot) but now you also have to either stay offline or reconnect, and possibly re-que. That’s way better than a straight up kill. I love it when people [Alt-F4] against me.
Basically if your build isn’t yours i don’t see you fit for stomping me because its not you who won the fight. It’s whoever made that build for you.
Sorry to tell you, but there’s not really any original builds left. Some people fine tune their builds based on personal preference, but the main elements of each build are still there.
“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination.” -Jim Jarmusch
“Books serve to show a man that those original thoughts of his aren’t very new after all.” -Abraham Lincoln
“Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal.” -T.S. Eliot
Are there builds out there that are possibly too powerful? Yes.
Are there builds that YOUR build won’t be able to counter? Yes.
Are there enemies that are running builds that YOU will counter? Yes.
Are you going to learn anything about the fight if you Alt-F4 from it? No.
Not really a favorite, or hated. Maybe most scariest toy?
Princess Dolls. They don’t have faces!
The dolls are the worst with many stacks of confusion.
Princess Doll, she’s an unholy terror.
Hated? Princess Dolls….. they make me cry!
I will ally with Flame Legion if they promise to use every drop of their power to burn each and every flippin’ doll out there!
Hey all, this was an unintended change. This will be reverted back to the way it used to be in a future hotfix (but not today, sorry).
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Yes…
As I didn’t go out of my way to complete season 1’s meta and just WvW’ed as normal, its wasn’t a inconvenience. I’m thankful that anet gave me rewards for playing the game mode I enjoy and would have played regardless of seasons.
I have dishonored my server.
I have spent valuable minutes, perhaps hours, trying to do jumping puzzles, while there are queues to the borderlands, and the map chat is filling with requests to come defend hills, bay, and garrison.
I have disregarded cries to man the siege at garrison, simply because I only had 5 ruins left to flip to get my achievement.
I have let enemy players kill our dollies, when we’ve been so close to full T3 keeps, simply because they then would let me kill theirs.
I’ve abandoned the zerg, to stay in scout circles, while rushing to defeat an enemy zerg.
What have I gained for these dishonorable acts? What have I gained sacrificing fun and challenging play time for grinding out achievements? 1 rare, and some worthless skill tomes, and an ACCOUNT BOUND dolly.
Disappointed…thought we may have got a few exotics at least…
I feel sorry for people’s transfergems.
Killing Trahearne was the highlight for me.
…. Serious?
Personally thought that while graphically pretty, it was completely void and pointless. Complete “style over substance”. Was just Scarlet being her usual Saturday morning cartoon villain “I’LL GET YOU NEXT TIME GADGET!!”.
I loved the tower itself, but Scarlet is such a hopeless waste of a character at this point. I would have forgotten why I cared at this point, except there’s nothing to forget…
