I’m still pretty godkitten mad that they didn’t fulfill their promise of fixing the iWarden’s erratic behavour, while also breaking it further, so it now only reflects projectiles back at their source when the source is next to the iWarden.
Disappointment.
Temporal Curtain.
It is intended to not stack with anything. But, that makes the Description of the skill wrong. It says “grants swiftness”, and we know Swiftness stacks in duration.
Temporal Curtain does not stack with anything.
It needs to be “fixed” to work with other Swiftness sources. A total rework of the skill if need be.
Mesmers have little long distance mobility. Try to stay with an Edge of the Mist zerg as a Mesmer, and notice how you drift toward the back. You get less damage on champs, and you get less loot drops because you get zero credit. It sucks.
Temporal Curtain is bugged. If I have 1-3 seconds left of Swiftness because a Guardian gave it to me, and I lay down my Temporal Curtain to give me ~17 seconds of swiftness, and instead I get zero seconds, this is very wrong. The smaller cooldown prevented me from getting my own superior Boon, and causes me to fall out of swiftness, and I get left behind until my cooldown is ready.
I can’t stop others from giving me boons that will harm me.
This is broken

This was the sub-forum that mentions Forum so I put it here.
It’s about merging topics.
The latest good example is the MegaServer.
For kittens sake don’t merge this topic with that topic. It’s not about megaserver.
It’s about what the moderators do with topics posted about a subject relating to a major topic that others have also posted.
Moderator just picks a topic and sticks all the other topics relating to the major topic onto the end of it and it gets lost in the middle of a tone of pages.
The original topic title and question is lost.
What they should do when there is a major Topic is create a sub-forum for them and move the post in to it.
This way the titles remain with the start of the post and if more ppl want to add a new topic relative to the major topic, there is some where for them all to be localized.
Finding what ppl think about what you posted after it has been merged in the middle of other ppl’s topic is a nightmare.
Hope some one made sense of what I am trying to say here.
I think it would be helpful to fix the search function on the forum. If I type something into the “Search this topic” box at the top of the page, for instance, like the the word “thanks” (the fourth word in the first post), it says “No results found.”
If the forum search function worked, you could easily find your other thread.
As of right now, the chat filter is not working in a way that is actually useful or purposeful. For the most part, it is actually a really big hindrance.
My reasons why i say that are:
1. It does not take people who speak more than one language into consideration.
I, for example, speak both german and english. Right now, i only have the option to speak to either german or english people at one given time. Yes, I can turn off the filter on my end, but that wont magically make everyone else who has it turned on by default see what i am writing. I would have to manually change my client language to be able to speak to people of a different language base.
2. It does not take people who use a different client language than their native language into consideration.
Again using myself for example, I use the english client language, but i play with a german community. To actually communicate with my community in map chat, I have to manually change my client language because its likely that they have the filter turned on by default. I, however, prefer the english client simply because I play all games in english, because the localized translations and synchronisations tend to be quite subpar compared to the original. In this case, the filter effectively limits how I want and can play the game.
3. It limits and potentially cripples communication and organisation in situations where you have people of multiple language bases present.
I know this problem has been fixed for the Edge of the Mist maps, but i am not sure why this wasnt also implemented on maps or during the times where World Boss events are going on. You effectively designed Tequatl and the three headed Worm so that it would require alot of organisation to complete the event. The filter makes that almost impossible though because you cant organize past your set client language.
My suggestion is that the filter is changed from using a static value like the client language, and instead give us a proper option menu that lets us pick which languages we want to see. this could be done by simply giving us checkboxes, so i could, for example, pick german and english because i speak those languages.
Another option would be to change the megaserver system slight so that it properly prioritizes on putting people of the same language base on the same map which would make it so we dont need the filter anymore to begin with, then again, i am not sure if that is how it is intended to be anyways, but thats what i got from the blog post. It would also make more sense than the current implementation because it doesnt tear previous, server/language based communities apart anymore.
I would like more player feedback on my idea, if possible. Also, i will add more ideas to the post if i can think of any.

it has been a week now, and the chat filter still hasnt been fixed in the slightest.
The issue that i cant communicate with people from my german community because i prefer to use the english client still exists. temporary setting it to german is only a workaround, and its an inconvenience because it means i cant play the game the way i want to play it. I dislike the german translation. infact, i play most games in english because it tends to be alot better than the resynched, translated stuff.
Could you atleast add actual language options to the filter so that i can pick what i want to see, instead of hardcoding it by client language?
Surely, I hope you see how this is kind of flawed design and that the border-cases, like myself, should have probably been taken into consideration. Think of the people who speak more than one language. they are currently completely ignored by how the filter and hindered in how they want and can play the game.
Before anyone posts it: no, deactivating the filter for myself wont solve the problem. It will only allow me to see everything in chat, it however wont allow me to talk to everyone, on the other hand though. Just putting this here because this had been falsely suggested to me one too many times already.
here is hoping this post doesnt get ignored for once, as all the other ones about this situation have been ever since the filter was added.
Why can’t you communicate with the German community, you know there’s an option to not exclude non english language from the chat (on the top left of the chat channel in options).
because that only changes that I can see what they say. they still wont see what i say though. turning that option on or off only works one way, not both ways.
I agree with Taevion that if the illusion’s speed on Illusionary Leap isn’t made faster, then the cripple has to be stronger, because currently it is one of the most forgiving skills in the game to dodge and players can get the benefits of a full dodge frame even while immobilized because they happened to start just before the swap.
This would also help the depth of the skill since it would be stronger at baiting out premature dodges.

thats how i feel. i love my mes. i had her like 1 month after headstart and never looked back. i made alts but dont play them often. after iwarden got broken, i made a necro and i do find myself playing her more often atm as im feeling exactly like u do. we have been waiting for over a year, we were sad and lost after confusion nerf, but we were all hopeful and were waiting…what folowed were more nerfs and then all the bug kept adding up 1by1. it took them 6 months to fix iberserker,iwarden is getting close to that now aswell…
and now this patch anet barely even touched our class. terrible unfinished or missplaced gm traits and most of the bugs still havent been fixed and then another nerf and absolutely nothing to improve the mesmers groupbuild diversity or even a real wvw raid build option.
seriously, how long are we being ignored?how long must we wait until we finally get attention, real attention not just bugfixes. we need rework, trait improvements unnerfs and new traits so we can be viable in every gamemode not just 1v1.

Not sure if I’ve seen this behaviour prior to the patch, but I believe yes.
It did provide flavor. I know most roleplayers took active care to retain a specific personality on their characters (such as “Scoundrel” or “Diplomat”).

In combination with Megaserver i suppose i get why this is.
But objectively its utter kitten to have so many contested waypoints.
More contested waypoints is NOT game improvement.
Never liked the concept of contested waypoints anyway.
So, Anet, either remove the concept of contested waypoints, OR make all waypoint travel free.

I would appreciate it if the display worked the other way around: showing the transmuted skins name and any applicable descriptions proper how it used to show.
Where with the bottom part where it says that the item is transmuted, describes what the original skin is.
Example:

Please make these skills work smoother, it’s a necessary QUALITY OF LIFE improvement for the mesmer users. I know you guys have a lot on your hands but a class should at least work like it’s suppose to.
3. Illusionary Leap + Swap. Broken since long ago.
Please fix, it doesn’t make sense why this is considered “working as intended” when it only succeeds 50% of the time due to
1) terrain interruptions
2) that 1 second cripple isn’t long enough to hold people down, they can choose to dodge from the initial dash of the clone or dodge AFTER the cripple has been applied
3) the range is very short, the only time u can hit someone w/ this skill without fail (relatively speaking) is if i use it point blank range.
4) now correct me if i’m wrong, this is skill is made for capturing targets? IT’S FAILING TO DO ITS JOB, u obviously made it only 600 range so it’s not a cheap move, but even at this range, the success of it is so minimal that it doesn’t even compensate for the mesmer’s extreme lack of (chasing/fleeing) power!
5) it’s like shatter build’s main kitten nal and that means shatter builds and traits aren’t worth taking consider the survivability that the mesmer doesn’t have anymore with past nerfs/changes. Is a-net trying to slowly wipe out the shatter style play style? cause it’s working.
4. Temporal Curtain. Broken since release.
1)With all my other classes, i can stack swiftness even if by accident from some random players except for this skill, not only will it not let me stack w/ other class’ swiftness buff but not even my own… it’s so difficult in reliability to maneuver with this skill b/c of its management is unlike any other swiftness skill in the game. (please tell us your reasoning why it is the way it is when a simple added delay time can work fine just like say… Symbol of Swiftness?) It doesn’t make sense, it shoudln’t be working as intended b/c there’s clearly no logic explained to it when it’s not even OP to begin with

I get that bugs can be hard to fix but can we at the very least get band aid solutions instead of going 3+ months with nothing only to have something else break again?
I know every class needs attention in this way, but can there be a REAL tune up patch where EVERY skill is looked at and fixed and all resources put towards that before more content?
Adding my voice since I have Azureflame trasmuted before this patch and now it’s Pearl Stinger. Plus my Enduring Coat doesn’t have the cool name and flavor text… and my human cultural armor isn’t correctly named ;_;
And my reading glasses are now “Emblazoned Helm” >.>
As I posted in another thread, not only does this change make all my weapons have lame-kitten names, there’s a functional problem too in that the right-click to equip menu is made completely useless.
I selected different skins for each of my swords so that the names would be different, and now they’re all “Zojja’s Blade”.
It’s a change not a bug. If you hover your mouse over the item you will see “Transmuted ____” stating what is transmuted ontop of it. It’s a really stupid change but it’s not a bug unfortunately.
This HAVE to be a bug, you clearly don’t understand what the name switching does to a lot of unique skins, it made them horrible and not fun to use/ping. Ex: Fractal skins aren’t fractal weapons anymore, they’re “berserker’s pearl crap” Backpieces are also ruined, and all the gemstore skins too, since you have to transmute them, they don’t have stats in the first place
I sure hope this is a bug/not working as intended.
I like my mix-n-match amrour sets and often had people asking me to “ping” my gear to them, which of course is completely pointless now as it’s taking it’s name from the ascended set I crafted as opposed to it’s appearance, and thus is of no help to anyone interested in my look.
Also I don’t particularly like Zojja so I’m not keen on having her name plastered across my gear.
i warden is more broken now than before. i used to reflect all projectiles now just the targets projectile and thats an issue for wvw mesmers again! always wvw. we got nothing from u guys in this department at all and are still veilbots, now the iwarden is turned into a 1v1 weird useless phantasm. just revert it to the way it used to be!!!
it was perfect before u guys “fixed” it, i loved it and it was fine, now its so useless i dont even wanna use the focus.
and most of the bugs are not fixed and then we get nothing. seriously, just put some work into this class, help us in wvw (veilbot is sooo boring and annoying), seriously every other class has gotten stuff in the past year and war has become op, engi is now part of wvw too, but since the glamour nerf to the ground, nothing, we have been overlooked and only seen nerfs! we need aoe, we need aoe dmg, we need wvw build, we need groupbuild, we need bugfixes(still cant dmg unbuilt oil), and the gm traits are not even gm trait worthy…just help us already, i wanna play wvw raids with my mesmer without being asked to be a stupid brainless veilbot!!!!!!
is it too much to ask for the devs to put some work into this class? its been way over a year!
only bring the possible exploit at the bottom to light in the hopes it speeds up efforts and information on this massive bug and do not condone anyone doing it

time gated crafting just counts bk from 24 when it hits 0
i cant mine as they wont reset
cant do dungeons as i get not daily reward also no chest in dungeons they just dont show up
cant charge my daily quarts
i would also like to bring to light this bug that “could” be exploited
eg monthly
this is just a theory but my daily resets back to how it was when the bug hit so
3-5 done each day
if my monthly does that which is 2-4
then each day i can complete a monthly and be rewarded with black lion items among other things
i repeat and need to say this i have not or do not plan to do this im only bring this to light in the hope it speeds up efforts to fix this bug

Well, I miss it. I carefully maintained the most suitable personalities on my characters.
The new UI is a big part of this feature patch. They claimed to have worked on it for a long time. They also claim to QA the patches extensively before launch. So I doubt the personality info being removed from the Hero tab is a bug.
Maybe it’s one of the things that they thought wouldn’t be missed. Although it’s just for text flair it’s still sad that they thought we don’t deserve to know why they removed it.

- Portal: This utility was given a skill-fact for range (5000). I personally like the suggestion of mini-map markers, and I’ll bring it up with the team, but I don’t think that was ever planned for this release. Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for a response. We got excited with the “fixed in feature build” and just a number in the tooltip as a “fix” is, well, a bummer.
Not sure about minimap indicators unless they can show if it will or won’t activate; I would personally be happy if I had:
Not sure if buff icons are bad for WvW mesmers though.
- Illusionary Warden: We made some changes for Illusionary Warden for 4/15. Can you guys elaborate on how its behaving now?
A couple of other threads (here, here) mentioned that Warden reflects projectiles upwards unless the trait is reslotted on map reset, or only reflects projectiles from above, as well as still inconsistent in behaviour.
