Guardian or Warrior?

Guardian hands down.

Warriors have been shafted and recently joined Thieves at the “special kids” table.

Thief and warrior are Muggle. We can’t use magic.

What about shadowstep and shadow refuge? Rampage also seems like a magical transformation, then there are the shouts and self-healing and banners.

I remember a thread asking how they could get the phoenix finisher without going into sPvP. It comically missed the point because the entire point of the finisher is to say, “I have achieved this rank in sPvP.”

For ascended crafting if you aren’t willing to put in the work required to make the gear then you don’t deserve it. You must earn your ascended gear. I have sacrificed many great weapon skins and dyes for the sake of completing ascended crafting, and I only have two pieces left. With four bolts of Damask and Elonian squares I’m so close to the finish line for completing cloth gloves and shoulders. Just put in the work and the ascended will come.

Druid is way too underpowered.

Good, shadow arts is only a PvE traitline nowadays anyway, until open world mobs get reveal shivers.

“1v1ed a friend in the guild arena for fun. My marauder dare devil (I play aggressive no shadow arts) and his cele Druid. We had food on so we could see how long it took. It went back and forth but he finally got me down after almost exactly 20 minutes. We were relaxing/getting bored. So obviously need to buff Druid dps :p that weakness is a kitten tho.”

Have you tried reaper? How does that counter druid? Logically it would since they have condition reflects and boon steals. I don’t know what they have for interrupts but know those are important for the big heals.

Thief is still good for the open world with marauder and some zealot gear, haven’t done my warrior in awhile except as a weaponsmith to craft wood and ingots to save money for finishing my ascended light gloves and shoulders.

I run this:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vZAQNAsYVn8lCdPhFPBeOBkmildCbLAUbmAcngNQJY+A+AvgA-TxDBQBGRJV1UqcGlgS4JAkQ1AAwhAAVaCUlqEmRZAN2fIRaByjOgUohQhqsEgTAQAgDAuOAA-e

The idea is to have some healing for shadow refuge in the open world but especially with channeled vigor. I sometimes switch to basilisk venom or in some very special situations dagger storm, but I don’t like that one except when farming because everything all of a sudden wants to focus me, can’t get the full benefit of the skill if I’m down before the charge ends.

With the daredevil elite on the other hand some mobs can move when its going through its phases, the idea is to wait for their interrupts then use the skill. Problem being here though is they die before getting to that point since they’re somehow allergic to interrupting no cooldown autoattacks or even some weapon skills.

Runes of the eagle are there so if the enemy goes under 50% HP their chances of recovering are less due to my DPS boost. I don’t really go conditions except the occasional poison field and bleed spam in Silverwaste, those accessories were earned in LS 2 chapters 5-8, I intend on replacing them with some marauder and maybe a zealot or crusader trinket, marauder amulet then give my ascended triforge to my ele then give my sinister stuff to my guardian since he’ll make more out of burn.

Since we’re talking guardian here’s mine:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAseWl8AhWhYzQwQIQTEHxDVNA2y61uB3bKkXxXMGB-TxiFAB0oEaYlMwt/gmKFqSJ4/KDA4BAcvaG3pN4MdA4raCA-e

I’m not on guardian much but the idea is having good group support while also getting decent power and burning damage. Sword and shield is for interrupting and shadowstepping while staff is for support and tagging. Marauder and crusader once again team up (though this time with more than one crusader piece since guardian makes more of the stats than thief) since they compliment each other well without the damage hit one would take with full celestial.

Those Outfits are poorly designed too anyway.

Like the Noble Count outfit on Females.

That black thing inside is just ridiculous.

What?! That’s even one of the best designs! It’s elegant and classy, although one can see the polygon shapes on the butt, but that’s an engine issue not an issue with the outfit itself. After smoothing out some of those lines it’ll be perfect, but that’ll require a drastic engine overhaul.

The wedding dress outfit is cute too, all that’s left is a princess outfit (males can dress like kings with the traditional robe and crown I’d totes buy that! :D ) which would be amazing on asura and human females ^_^

I am so kittened off that she had to die! Why can’t Braham die instead?! That little annoying kitten.
I really do hope Logan and Zojja gets infected with something after you saved them from the dragonthingy cacoon and BOOOM, they are dead aswell.

Poor Eir,

Don’t you go wishing that kind of evil on that adorable genius! She’s a strong female character done naturally and not to appease certain demographics. Eir was an okay character, but her personality screamed middle management type and not rugged viking warrior. Actually, bandits (male and female) suffer from that problem too, they’re not threatening or menacing at all.

Oh and don’t hurt Logan either.

The biggest shock in my long time gaming career is how Wildstar became a complete dud. When I was in beta there were some confusing things as to direction and guidance, but with some minor polishing and fixes would have been a great game. They’re whimsical, the bunny-eared race is cute, and kewl player housing.

I believe what made Wildstar fail is its unclear sense of direction combined with its sheer file size (was I think 60 GB to download) together with somewhat poor optimizations.

He is awesome, he gave leather and silk value and took drastic measures to fix a broken economy! An MMO’s economic health is the second most important thing behind only PvP balance. If charged lodestones dropped like candy then would equipping Mjolnir or Infinite Light still have any value? Of course not, scarcity contributes to value, which is why those charged lodestone weapons command respect from other players. On the one hand we need exclusives that’ll never come back but on the other we need subtle differences between them (like the preorder hat but sideways or backwards to distinguish those of us with the 2012 hat from those who bought via gemstore, or different accents on a new witch or wizard hat, scythe with different color blade, handle, and effects, etc.) and new variations on them.

The major problem with having too many lesbian characters though is the story beats you over the head with, “This character would not be into you if they were real.” and makes us care about those characters less. I’m obviously not homophobic or sexist but seeing Faolin die was satisfying because she was an extremely rotten betrayer and not due to gender or even race.

this would mean that you define yourself as part of the male gender. :)
there are tons of female gamers playing GW2.
And we are actually a demographic in the game the devs should not forget. A lot of the females, including myself, like spending time and and gold and often also gems on the appearance of our characters, which brings in money for A.net.

It doesn’t matter what sexuality the character has, as long as a character, that is meant to be seen in a positive light, doesn’t sexually abuse a character or does it with people that can’t consent.
but I can tell you even with the male and presumably hetero characters I wouldn’t be more likely to safe or protect them just because they’re into women.
I feel attached to a character if the design is cool, if the voice acting is not annoying, if the personality and actions are relatable and if it makes the story more interesting. the gender doesn’t matter.

i personally was also not a big fan of Faolain, because of her character and actions, that are kind of unrelatable to me, but it has for sure not to do with her being in a romatical relationship with a person of the same gender.
If caith and faolain were guys and ut the personalities were the same, Faolain would have been “available” to you. Would you have like “him” more than her?

I’m not saying no to lesbian characters, just go light with the relationships, male and female. Faolin was terrible, her gender had nothing to do with it and Caithe is a much nicer character who made some tough moral decisions in LS 2. Faolin betrayed and murdered “someone” who just saved her life, she’s obviously meant to be hated as she’s unambiguously evil.

The gender does matter to an extent because we like to project ourselves as the character’s boyfriend, can’t do that with a pre-existing canon relationship, especially if the partner is radically different from you to the point of even including gender difference. So yes to some relationships, but no to pretty much everyone being in them whether male or female.

I just want more stories that aren’t politically or socially loaded. Simply having a gay couple doesn’t make it loaded, but real world analogues and preaching certain messages are. Kasmir and Marjory are flat as characters and unmemorable anyway. I played LS 2 5-8 getting all the achievements and I didn’t even know they were a couple or even really remember them apart from Kasmir being kinda cute. I didn’t hate the characters, just kinda neutral towards them. Rox was cool though and Taimi’s my personal favorite out of Destiny’s Edge 2.0 since she’s so bright and cheery. The way she annoyed that charr Engineer in chapter 8 was priceless ^_^

And Queen Jenna was corrupted afterward and had to be defeated. Zojja delivers the final blow, but with some malice and jealousy. She’d be possessed by a champion of the final elder dragon and therefore have to go. I also really like the idea of mixing raiding and WvW for the absolute last boss where the player character earns rewards for his GW3 counterpart.

Guild Wars 3 LS 1: The Real Rytlock or The Return of Rytlock has a nice ring to it ^_^ There’d even be a Rytlock impersonator quest where the player character gets second next to the real thing (but even this doesn’t convince Rytlock’s descendant thus the need for a McGuffin to prove his authenticity) where Rytlock jokes with him, “Don’t worry I’m not here to take your place as king great grandson many times over but a warning!” where the king responds, “Get in line with all the other ‘Rytlocks’”. Rytlock’s legacy is so great that even 1,000 years into the future they still speak of his legacy both as a warrior who cleansed Ascalon of its curse (successfully on the second attempt) and as a king who united all the races and lead a campaign kill all the seperatists and corrupted. Since evidence of his death was never found (since he never actually died but got caught in a time wormhole) countless impersonators throughout the centuries appeared and still appear.

They can and have stopped botting before. The question remains though is why would they be driven to bot in the first place? The process of gathering should be fun enough where one doesn’t even think about it. When going on my logging and mining rounds I noticed people simply disappearing too.

What are the two most important things in an MMO? 1.PvP balance 2.Economy. The most important thing isn’t relevant to the topic at hand so I’ll focus on the second: economy. Those who use third party programs should be given the utmost attention, most of all in sPvP and WvW but also in gathering. They aren’t good for the economy since at launch they’d deflate prices too much, meaning honest gatherers didn’t make enough from selling their goods.

I have noticed a slight dip in ascended mat prices. Instead of selling them if they get too low I may as well store them and wait for either a new legendary to work on or sell the mats at a more favorable time.

There is also a high demand apparently for sci-fi outfits. Imagine if they added an astronaut outfit and a lightsaber and whatnot related to sci-fi movies. How does that fit the lore of this game exactly?

I’m sick of wings and stuff like that as it is, I’d rather not see ‘modern’ clothing and other things that don’t fit this universe.

Stuffy games aren’t fun. Options and silly out of place things are. This is a game, it’s meant to be fun. I like sci-fi ideas and with a little improvisation can already be made. I had (well balanced) lightsabers in Skyrim and that didn’t fit the lore at all. GW2 isn’t singleplayer so it can’t have modding for obvious reasons (if it were though I’d already download the no fall damage mod since fall damage contradicts my fanon and character powerlevels) such as messing with PvP and WvW balance but I have fun with my Mad King, Jungle Explorer, witch, baseball, and gas mask hats.

Guild Wars 3: Story Ideas

Agemnon.4608

I’ll start by my vision of how GW2 ends: the final elder dragon is on the moon. He is silver and rainbowy, but a corruption of those colors so not bright and beautiful. He is psychic with powerful mind control. He is so powerful that the pale tree and entire sylvari race need to make a heroic sacrifice similar to the dwarves to defeat him. He’d be defeated in a PvP/Raid hybrid gameplay wise with lots of platforming. He is defeated and peace reigns for 1,000 years. Destiny’s Edge is nowhere to be found, but they were send in a time portal. The final elder dragon’s spell was meant to be fatal, but a new spell from Zojja saved their lives and sent them forward in time. Rytlock is known as the greatest Ascalonian king who ever lived, but there are rumors that he didn’t quite die, so for the past 1,000 years you have Rytlock imitators claiming to be the real Rytlock. When the real Rytlock does find his descendant the king (reasonably so) assumes he’s yet another imitator, but the player character helps him with a quest proving in fact he’s the real Rytlock. Taimi also gets sent forward in time as she played the biggest role in defeating the final elder dragon, but she goes forward in time too in order to justify her being in an expansion 1,000 years in the future without making a new character who’d be criticized as a Taimi knockoff. Eir’s place in Destiny’s Edge was taken over by Braham. Only Caithe remains of the Sylvari, and the Crysquest, who are like the Inquest but 1,000 years more advanced (logically) and stole all the Priory’s knowledge kidnapped Caithe. Since she’s the last surviving Sylvari and Ogden the last surviving dwarf they perform inhumane experiments on them, but are rescued by the player character, Taimi, and Rytlock.

Logan is now an Asura because he was changed with Asuran magitech in order to have children with Zojja. How their relationship started was as follows:

Zojja: “You do realize the Queen is with another man and you’ll just have to accept that right?”

Logan: “I won’t! I can’t! I have given up so much for her!”

Zojja: “What do you even see in her anyway? She wasn’t there risking her life with you, she didn’t go through what WE went through together. Besides, am I not smart and beautiful?”

Logan (smirks in a way suggesting he’s giggling inside): Well, you are cute and beautiful.

Zojja: “Have you ever thought about…well…us?”

Logan: “Enough of the uncomfortable questions. Even if I had, the risk of offending you would be too great. Afraid you would no longer see me a brother in arms, but a weirdo who…wants to date another species”

Zojja (places hand on Logan’s hand): It’s okay. You don’t have to hide anything from me. (They make out)

Logan: Looks like we have a chance to bust out of here, save Rytlock, and show these inquest monsters not to mess with Destiny’s Edge! An understanding of revenant magic would be far too dangerous in their hands!

(A couple arcs later, after Zojja and Logan’s marriage)

Zojja: Humans and Asura cannot bear children, but I have found a way to solve that problem! With the latest advancements in magitech you can become an Asura!

Logan: For you my love, anything.

So what does everyone think? If your opinion is negative that’s okay I’m open to constructive criticism and admit I’m not a lore expert so contradictions with it are inevitable.

Fight as much as you can and hold off higher levels until later because you’ll obtain level drops that salvage into wool, cotton, linen, and T2-4 leather so you’ll have some decent mats saved up for ascended crafting. Crafting itself helps the leveling process, but I’d wait until you’re far enough in the 60’s (66-67) where T5 drops are secure (you’ll get these at 80 anyway) to level by crafting.

More sylvari same sex relationships would be nice to see though (that aren’t the travesty that was Caithe/Faolain).

Why do people keep calling it same sex relationsship?

If I plant a lily next to a daffodil in the same flower pot I’m not going to call it a same sex relationship.

Because they’re human yet not quite human enough. It’s what I don’t like about the race really. They are so close to human but…just aren’t. Norn simply look like really big humans so they get a pass while Asura and Charr are far enough from human to also get a pass.

People are defending this.

I don’t get it. Its like people are screaming for less content.

I wouldn’t say for its own sake and certainly not for the long term, but before adding new content they should focus on more important things like PvP balance and the economy. The economy seems fine as it is except in some markets (Nightfury did well for lodestones but they’re still not up to charged lodestone level)

PvP balance on the other hand is simply terrible. Dragonhunter is unanimously declared the best class and has the most complaint threads about it. While a lot of it is learn to play (get out of traps ASAP) much of the complaints are valid. It’s to the point now where if you win duels with a dragonhunter they don’t count (well officially they do you’ll still score for your team but everyone will just put it to OP mechanics)

I’ve always liked dragonhunter longbow and traps fill a gap that guardian has been lacking and I still say shield was a better weapon for thief than staff since reflects and blocks fill a gap thief lacked though staff and bandit’s defense give some knockdowns that were needed.

Then you have reapers who people complain about being OP but necro was always a tough class if you don’t have access to many interrupts since lifesteal, boon stealing, and condition reflects are a nasty combination. Don’t use conditions, stay out of wells, and don’t boon. If you thought the vet hanging by the circle of trees in Straights of Devastation was tough wait until you fight the real thing, as real players are hip and aware to interrupt and dazes at tactically important moments.

Back to content: like I allude to above you can’t build a house unless you build the foundation. Carpeting and even concrete are useless if you don’t have the steel frame up. The more basic the problem the more deserving of attention it is. Once all that’s in order then they should think about new content.

Then again it isn’t one team working on everything but compartmentalized teams working on their particular aspects of the game so there’s that. Like your economy guys, class balance guys, level design guys, code guys, etc.

Whenever I write I always avoid relationships on purpose unless it’s absolutely critical because the reader typically wants to see himself as a certain character’s significant other. Problem with putting them into a relationship is you’ll create a lot of, “That guy is nothing like me! She likes a guy who is nothing like me so what would my chances be?” And if they’re a lesbian then that adds a whole biological dimension to it, meaning biologically predispositioned not to be into you.

Sylvari & Not?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Agemnon.4608

Agemnon.4608

I don’t agree with the blatant sylvari favoritism. I shouldn’t be forced to level yet another character to 80 and buy another character slot just for a character I’ll only care about just for sylvari only achievements. Those achievements need to be deleted because not everyone has a sylvari and I shouldn’t need to make a sylvari just for an ascended trinket.

I agree, delete ALL achievements I don’t want to do!

If you don’t want to create a Sylvari, don’t, you’ll live without that achievement (whatever it is, I’ve no idea myself).

And without that trinket I’m owed too for completing the other achieves. Where are the human only or asura only achievements that give ascended trinkets? Do we not deserve ascended trinkets too without needing to bother or if too long have to pay? Why should someone have an extra income stream merely for picking the “right” race? They said at launch that races are purely cosmetic and the only thing it’ll influence is the personal story. Once you give out ascended trinkets to needing some races but not others it favors that race mechanically. The race never appealed to me and with Trahearne, Faolin, and Canach I like them even less.

“SJW : why is this that bad? ’

Real social justice isn’t, but the Anna Sarkesian/Tumblr type of pseudo social “justice” is just women seeing sexism where it doesn’t exist. Instead of talking about real issues like equal pay and reproductive rights or even the right to own property, vote, or be given the humanity they’re owed in countries where it’s denied.

Probably because same sex female relationships are (somehow) more acceptable. If your girlfriend cheated on you with another girl you wouldn’t register that as real “cheating” and taken seriously whereas if they cheated with another man that’d be a big betrayal and affront.

Good review. The two most important things in an MMO above all else is PvP balance (segregate skills like how in PvP certain skills have a shorter effect in PvP than PvE) and the economy. If everyone runs around in Infinite Light because charged lodestones drop like candy for example then the sword wouldn’t be cool anymore.

My biggest beef with HoT so far unanimously is needing to have a sylvari player get the sylvari solidarity achievement for you. I shouldn’t have to make a race I have no intention of making just for a marauder ascended trinket that has a defensive (not utility) infusion slot. I’m going some marauder on all my characters (except for maybe the elementalist, who is celestial all the way) and that’s why I wanna get the quest done. I shouldn’t have to bother guildies to stop what they’re doing just to help me with an achievement that doesn’t even require skill but just a race. I have an asura, human, char, and norn at level 80 and have no sylvari. I shouldn’t be punished simply because I don’t wanna make a certain race.

In 2v1 practice you alternate being the 1 and upload the video footage to Youtube for constructive feedback on build, keybinds, timing, etc. Yes the 2 should win all the time, but because people are imperfect even with big skillgaps sometimes the 1 would even win. The 2v1 is mostly “how long can the 1 last” practice. Like if you play chess and start without a knight a master would still beat most people even without the knight but if you make it far but still lose it’s still a good result.

Hey, John Smith. I have some questions.

1. Why do you hate PvE so much?
2. Why does Anet have to make so many bad decisions?
3. Why are you trying to force Fractals? They’re not fun.
4. Why don’t you add real dungeons and just remove Fractals from existence.
5. Why is your response to #4 a bullkitten answer? :^)

Here, ladies and gentlemen, is a brilliant example of how not to get questions answered. Stellar peevishness slathered with smarmy entitlement. Really first rate.

Yeah, because these garbage changes warrant anything else. Not.

“Not”? Did you just watch Wayne’s World?

Anyway, none of the specific changes have been announced. It’s the usual, “sky is falling” attitude of this forum, or perhaps some gamers in general, feeding into the doom and gloom. As was mentioned, dungeons are a broken gold faucet that have long needed to be and are being nerfed. The qq is being justified by lofty notions of dedication to content, but the heart of the matter is that mommy took the teat away and now the broken farm can’t be exploited any longer.

No this isn’t the case at all. dungeons would take more than 3 hours to complete for an average of 20 g per day…… go run sw for an hour…. or better yet just do your events, for the same amount of time…. see this was a more interactive way to earn the gold…. not just run around like a bunch of helmet heads getting free gold from SW or DT and eve Karka…. talk about broken just look at your Obi shards. t6 mats like crazy….. Sir re evaluate your answers they are a bit.. well dull.

It isn’t “free” gold, it’s earned, and you need large quantities of obsidian shards for ascended crafting and legendaries so it’s logical you’d get 2-10 from a chest (it’s only a chance to obtain them not a guarantee) You do the meta, you lock down thrashers and teagarrifs with rubble, dagger 5, and sword 1 for daze, take out vines, lure mobs under the fire bucket, and on an ele use all your elements due to an actual need (water to keep players alive and speed up rezzing as well as chill fields, fire for general DPS and burning, wind for group swiftness and some CC and ricochet tagging, etc.) and mostly everyone else plays their parts too (except for leeching AFK’ers who scale, no one likes them.)

Thief needs to get cd’s on their mobility skills which is also vault.

Even though the thief finished that fight with less than 2,000 hp?

Think hard now.

I think revenant was supposed to be balanced on energy system and yet on top of energy PT also got slapped cd. So i dont see any reason why thief cant get slapped cd on vault, inf arrow, shadowshot to avoid spamming insane mobility.

Think harder. Its been too long and it time for some mobility nerfs in form of cds for thief. Also you cant really ask for some buffs to sustain with such mobility right? Ofc you not.

The problem there is it would make thief easier to kill and thief is too squishy as it is. You actually need those mobility skills and dodges in order to survive. There’s a reason why thief is never placed in good or even mid tier in the tier threads. The mobility skills also come with a high initiative cost so if you use shortbow #5 twice you aren’t going to be cloak and daggering for a few seconds. If they put mobility skills on a CD then they need to get rid of initiative and rebalance all the skills so you can shortbow #5 away, swap to sword/dagger, and because you can’t chain the 5+1 a few times give a significant damage buff to compensate for lost DPS.

Like I said dueling a thief doesn’t mean you’re owed a free lootbag. L2P.

Are you sure? A tiny Taimi, who is very small already, would be miniscule.

She doesn’t have to be devil dog small but maybe the mini quaggan or mini Zojja height.

With reveal added to many classes thief needed some form of compensation. Now stealth strategies are replaced with active defense (which still has a decently high skill cap)

You aren’t owed a victory just because your opponent was a thief.

“Thief needs to get cd’s on their mobility skills which is also vault.”

With initiative all abilities share a cooldown, even if you weapon swap.

Staff elementalist. There’s always something off cooldown, good healing, and lots of combo fields.

TITLE EDIT: Do Sylvari have genitalia?

Yes, the Sylvari have genitalia. In addition to the wiki statements, there was an interview with Ree and Kristen prior to launch where it was stated that all of the races are “sexually compatible” but could not cross breed.

For the life of me, I can’t find it anymore, but that has stuck with me. Primarily because I thought it was hilarious that they broached that topic.

So if Zojja and Logan have a kid Logan will have to transform into an Asura to do so? I think it’d be a great subplot and with Asura magitech should be possible.

Word on the street is that scrappers counter dragon hunters. I want to make an engineer so I can earn the champion genius title someday. I apparently have a new reason now.

Best class for farming?

For single roaming thief since you can shadow refuge to be left alone when mining and logging while signet of shadows gives a passive speed boost, for big group fights guardian. Elementalist sounds good at first but all their attacks have a charge, so air staff 1 skill will go off after some ranger burst down your target with rapid fire cheating you out of potential look. Avoid traits that give others swiftness or haste (there’s a trickery traitline that gives boons to nearby allies) since it’ll make it easier for them to reduce your potential gains.

When your credit is secure (with two or three hits) then attack other groups to maximize your gains. This is when you’d likely play guardian but if you’re on thief use shortbow, haste, and clusterbomb in close quarters and sacrifice some group utility for tagging potential.

Rangers have a skill that pushes back, which can potentially cheat you out of credit so apart from staff go with sword/shield so you have access to sword 3 for the shadowstep.

No they don’t. It’s explicitly said by an inquest during Living Story 2 chapter 7 in that don’t get detected once then get detected in every room on the next round part. I even gave Trahearne an inappropriate nick name because of it. ^_^

Its gonna be a bigger gold sink than the federal budget and thats a good thing . If there’s too much gold the inflation goes up and inflation is bad

Only in real life. In the game it’s good because it means that cultural armor and icy runestones are practically less expensive. Let’s say with enough deflation a Delrimor ingot would go from 9 gold to 3 gold. You will obtain 3 icy runestones per ingot instead of 9 and take much longer to save for high end skins like infinite light (highly doubt charged lodestones would be effected by deflation), and that’s bad.

deflation isnt a good thing either

im pretty sure it is mostly no direct gold sink but alot of expensive material sink
so gold price wont even go down maybe because the gold just gets traded from player to player and is not given back to the game and therefor not leaving the economy

Unfortunately there are listing fees that vanish our hard won gold into thin air. I don’t want ultra expensive gold sinks because I’ll have to play for much longer just to reach the income I had before.

Gold Starvation

I know there’s a lot more to the topic at hand, but all I can think of after reading the original post is the fact that you apparently consider 25 gold a day to be simply a “reasonable” amount. Because to me, that’s a crapton of money to be making every day.

And wondering what exactly you need to buy that’s worth 5+ gold every day that makes it so that you can’t ever build up any more gold beyond that.

And what you spent the apparent thousands upon thousands of gold you made beforehand on.

Ascended crafting. Some mats are time gated so it isn’t enough to simply gather (mostly RNG in the case of cloth and leather), but buy finished products to speed the process along to a reasonable pace. When that’s done you could save up for an awesome skin like infinite light. The mats for it easily approach 1,000g. If you make 25g per day then you’ll need 40 entire days to get everything without using the gem store. In practice one would very likely burn out before making the sword so it’ll be longer than that.

Crusader stat jewelry?

“The recipes for the exotic jewels are bought from the master jeweler beside the crafting station for karma, when you crafted the jewels, the exotic trinkets should be craftable via discovery.”

I was going to try discovery but the problem is that would be 5 ectos down the drain if such a recipe doesn’t exist. I can make the exquisite jewels but I remember trying to discover sprocket recipes but needed to buy them off the trading post.

“the trinkets have to earned via achievements and collections and then can be bought from the laurel vendor, i think.”

I know about the chapter 3 achievement for the amulet but didn’t find anything on rings or accessories. The laurel vendor has some marauder rings and accessories but no crusader from what I’ve found.

You can buy the cheapest level 80 exotic armor and jewelry and go to town on them with a black lion salvage kit. I’d buy maybe two or three for three full sets of ascended and maybe have enough leftover for a weapon or two.
