I think it should stay a supportive trait.

What if it caused a small AoE heal around you whenever you are hit in Shroud, no ICD? That way it stays in theme with DM being the minion line since it can be used for healing minions while also providing some nice support for allies.

Not that great anymore. The damage they do isn’t high enough to justify the loss of utility in PvP, before everything got stronger it was a fair trade-off. And Power Nec is inferior to Condi for raids. Still meta in WvW though.

Condi reaper and Daredevil dps too OP in raids, nerf please as they have 30000 dps. They can do no Updraft Gorseval run same as condi bunzerker and chro meta before. No Updraft run is the definition of OP. To be fair, Anet if you nerfed condi bunzerker and chro, you should also nerf Condi reaper and Daredevil. Let them enjoy this month and nerf it. I am looking forward for the sweet tears from the cry babys and ‘Craft some useless ascended equipments over 600G’ topic.

Well, for starters Burnzerkers reached peak dps less than a minute into a fight. It takes at least 2 sets of JHs from Lich to break 25k for Necro. With just one set of JH’s you’ll be at about 15-20k dps.

If they had raised the level cap to 100 and introduced a new gear tier that we can call God-tier, both exclusive to the xpac, you wouldn’t have been able to compete with just the core game either.

That’s not p2w, I’ve played many games that actually were, that’s just the way MMO expansions have worked since they became a thing.

What you are suggesting makes no sense. Panning the camera around 360 degrees constantly while fighting 1v1, 1v2, 2v2 etc, is not a realistic option.

Considering I do precisely that I’d say it’s quite realistic. Been doing it since my days of playing Aion. You can easily manage 2 spins a second if it’s really chaotic and you really need to see where everyone is at all times. I initially hated the change that made Necro Wells ground targeted by default for this reason until they added snap targeting and you could combine it with instant cast to make it just like it used to be.

Well OP, you’d have a point if Ancestral Grace and RTL were comparable. They are not. All Ele skills are balanced with one thing in mind, namely the fact that that Ele has a lot more skills in general to use because of attunements. So yeah, it can’t nor should it be as powerful as another class’ weapon skill.

I should also note that Deathly Chill doesn’t increase chill duration and that perma chill was always possible for Necro. Deathly Chill just makes it do damage. Your pic either needs to be changed to be correct or you should switch out the icon for Dread Shivers and Cold Shoulder.

Oh and I do remember Anets statement that they wanted Warriors to be naturally weak to conditions back in the day, so there’s that as well even if that design philosophy is done away with, mostly, it still lives on. So that ain’t a good comparison either.

It’d be too strong with tempest if it was additive. It being multiplicative would mean that a tempest applying prot or a revenant using rite wouldnt give the warrior 100% damage resistance since there would be diminishing returns.

Oh sorry, I’m bad at math. I meant what you said.

I feel that there should be some trade off to keep it in line though. Either what the poster above you said or something similar like maybe turn all your hits into glancing blows for the duration and justify it with the warrior being so focused on enduring pain that you can’t focus properly on hitting stuff.

I have fond memories of stacking Chill for durations so long the timer disappeared and it just had the chilled icon with no white outline before it had a cap.

So, having just watched today’s episode, I noticed karl hinted that the changes to the Scepter auto and Corrupt Boon were not all the changes for necro boon hate.

This is kinda scary overall. I really fear that Necros will become the kings of everything in PvP, aside from the fact they don’t stack multiples on a team too well.

Druids aren’t anywhere near the Ele/Chrono/Rev level.

Bold statement. How so?

They do not have the same kind of survivability. You lay it down hard on a Druid and they’ll go down pretty fast, Ele and Chrono won’t be done in fast regardless.

And there’s really not a lot of passive damage coming out from a Druid. You dodge the Convergence + Bristleback thingy and you’ll be mostly alright. The CC can be a bit obnoxious at times but it’s not too much to handle. Bristleback and Smokescale are a bit on the strong side tho. But I’d say it would be better to bring up all the others pets to their level and then balance the ranger itself rather then bring those two down to the rest.

A half-decent Daredevil wrecks Necros and most classes as well in 1v1s by default. Nothing really sticks and you won’t hit any of the important skills like Soul Spiral/Executioner’s/CttB/Reaper’s Mark. If a fight drags on long enough you can get to a point where they start to run out of evades and you’ll finally be able to pressure them. Problem with that is that they sorta do decent damage while you’re not doing squat to them so by the time you can lay down the hurt on them you’re either too low to do that yourself or they can just decide that they don’t feel like losing and disengage. The the new corrupt on auto attack with Scepter might sway things but it’s too early to tell. It was always one of the strongest specs for straight up 1v1. It just didn’t add much to a teamfight and had a tendency to evaporate under pressure from several players. Sort of a bad thing in a tank meta.

As good as this is, Scepter didn’t need a buff.

Like, we have so many other weapons that need buffing. There’s Greatsword and there’s Axe, and Offhand Dagger is a bit under-performing compared to Focus and Warhorn. But they give Scepter a gamechanger like this instead.

Well you should already be doing this. Steal’s boon rip and daze already were dangerous enough for you to do this.

Thieves primarily +1 fights so if you’re on point fighting and a thief comes with basilisk venom… Yeah free kill.

I main Necro so I don’t have a block for the new Basilisk Venom to ignore to begin with. I’ve always had to blow a pre-emptive dodge as soon as the Thief gets in Steal range if I want to avoid getting hit by it.

Way too many. More than there should be. Most you come across in legend play like rubies.

To be honest, back when I got to legend I sorta stopped trying as hard. Back at Diamond t5-t7 I was giving 110% every match. Now I barely care if I win or not. I reckon there are others like me as well.

I agree OP, I just woke up and had a gander at the balance preview livestream notes and I’m thoroughly satisfied if just for the Well of Precog nerf.

Well of Precognition – Gone from granting invulnerability to applying 3s of aegis every pulse.

Diamond Skin going from condition immunity to condition removal (1 condition removed on a 1s internal cooldown). Health Threshold is now 75% instead of 90%. So rapid conditions applications will spike you down.

Facet of Light – Initial activation of the facet will now have a cast time. This means that you can no longer use it as a stun breaker. We now want you to preemptively activate this and make a commitment to use this heal before you can use it.

We’re also removing the following amulets:

  • Soldier’s
  • Settler’s
  • Celestial
  • Sentinel

Absolutely SAVAGE.

Top of the list? No. But yes, res mechanics were broken (not Chrono’s fault), Chrono bunker is a tough nut (but hardly the toughest), and the problems in PvP are many.

Top of the list is Bunker Tempest, hands down.

As much as I dislike Diamond Skin, I even main a Necro so any enmity you might feel for that trait I feel twice as much. But I have to say that Tempest doesn’t have such a severe impact on PvP as Chrono. I can deal with Chronobunks relatively easy as far as its 1v1, but that’s hardly where their power lies. No class nor build is even close to being as obnoxious in a teamfight as Chrono. When the Chrono shows up to a fight the fun simply stops and it becomes a slog. And yeah, this is mostly because of ress/stomp mechanics, but Mesmer is the class that could abuse them to their fullest extent so it is Chrono’s fault. There’s also the part where some comp teams have gotten away with stacking nothing but Revs and Chronos with satisfactory results.

Yeah no, Mesmer isn’t fine. There’s a bunch of things wrong with PvP at the moment and Mesmer has plunked its bottom down at the top of the list.

Death's Charge suggestion

Jump at the same time you cast the skill. You’ll jump and move forward. You can even go from the center of khlyo to the windows this way.

This trick is pretty clunky though, and I say this as an avid dodgejumper. An arcing leaping would feel much more natural.

Death's Charge suggestion

Right so I was thinking about quality of life stuff after reading that balance post thingy and apart from some obvious things like signets working in death shroud and being able to see cooldowns in death shroud, complete lack of any kind of invulnerability frames I thought about our one and only leap and how it never fails to disappoint when we need it the most to chase some guy running away with low health or when we are running away ourselves by either hitting a pebble and stopping completely or simply deciding that I wanted to go in another direction by itself and I realized that the functionality problems with Death’s Charge are mostly caused by the fact that there’s no real jump/arc attached to the skill so my suggestion would be to add a slight jump/arc to it.

The fact that when two teams using this comp I’m complaining about meet they never so much as see each other because it boils down to who can rush straight into the lord room first and stomp him? At that point it stops being PvP and it’s about as fun as it sounds.

IIRC, trebs kill all of the DBs in 1 hit. Why not send multiple people to defend the treb, then snipe out the NPCs?

They can survive a treb shot with protection from Tempests. It’s also quite hard to hit them due to superspeed and stealth since you will miss if they are far enough away that you have to charge the treb even slightly. Once they’re close enough that you can use uncharged treb shots at them near the gate the Chrono will be chaining invulns on them until they break the gate.

Well, as I’ve said before. Stronghold is a decent enough mode but Tempests and Chronos break it. The repercussions of changing Well of Precog from giving Blur to Distortion definitely wasn’t made with Stronghold in mind.

At least one person tried to explain what the cheese was in Stronghold. Apparently once PvPers get a whiff of “cheese”, they refuse to try anything that might stop it. I get that adaptation is hard, but if you’re going to call yourself a competitive PvPer, you shouldn’t quit at the drop of a hat.

There isn’t an actual counter to 2 Tempest/1 Chrono/1 Scrapper rushing with DBs, well apart from running the same comp yourself and doing it better than the other team. If you commit the entire team, offensively specced, to defense with the singular goal of killing the DBs they won’t die until after breaking the 1st gate regardless of how much damage you throw on the DBs. This also means you leave the 5th enemy which is usually a Reaper, Rev or DH free to damage your team. This 5th guy is usually also the one that denies treb usage at the start, so no treb. So someone is likely to die as well if you go hard on the DBs. Now you might think “Why not just kill the pesky Tempests and Chronos so they can’t heal the DBs?” and I’m just going to point out that it takes maybe 40~ seconds for DBs to reach the 1st gate if you stall them with CC hard and soft both between whacking away at the Temps and Chronos who will definitely not die in under 40s.

Now when the DBs break through 1st gate most of the defensive stuff used to keep the DBs alive will be on cooldown so there’s a window to kill them here if you have enough damage. If you manage to do so you have a very slight chance of winning with the odds very much stacked against you by staying hard on defense, denying supplies and winning by score gain from hero channels and the odd kill. If they break the 2nd gate it is over. The amount of effort required to pull this sort of defense off compared to the amount of effort it takes to rush with that comp is immense.
