A static amount like vamp aura or the actual LF% gain flat out converted to a HP% gain? Because the latter would be incredibly overpowered.

Stronghold is an alright mode and pretty fun at times, they just need to nerf Chronomancer and Tempest into the kittening ground so hard that Warrior seems like a useful class in comparison. Or make NPCs immune to every allied effect that isn’t a boon.

If you go Terror, are you really just looking for the raw damage from the trait? Or are you looking for timed bursts of condition damage to throw an enemy off?

Both tbh fam. I’ve always been a power nec ever since launch and I miss my big numbers fam.

If you can apply 10 seconds of Fear in a 30 second fight, then, baseline, Terror will have to do 1845 damage/sec. But isn’t is absurd for a condition that CCs to also do that much damage? What happens when you stack Might?

I don’t really think you should be comparing them. If Terror needs a buff, fine. But any amount of high damage while someone is CC’d is going to feel kickback. The damage will need to be balanced with its burst potential, considering it is also an interrupt and a CC, regardless of the fact that as a CC it has the most counters since it is also a condition.

So what if the buff isn’t raising the damage? What if Terror made Fear ticks steal boons from affected targets? Or corrupted them instead. That way you’re still getting some of the boonhate that’s solidifying SoS in the various metas.

Making something “too good to pass up” is asinine because it forces builds that aren’t even built around it to run it. The only builds that should run curses are the builds that are build around curses, and Chill builds shouldn’t be forced to take curses just because some guy on the forums decided terror needs to mandatory.

Ah but that’s the thing though. Deathly Chill is too good to pass up. Calling something a “Chill build” is quite moot as every condi reaper build already grabs it by default. Terror needs to be just as good a pick.

Buffing Terror and nerfing Deathly Chill wouldn’t make Reapers go for Curses.

That depends on how much you buff Terror. There comes a point where something is just to good to pass up, the question is, how do we get Terror and to a larger degree Curses to that something.

This is the most unacceptable change. My build depends on chill as its main source of damage. you nerf chill damage, you nerf my build.
so, no.

Burst out of control??? Have you seen other classes’ condi burst? Terror and deathly chill proc together at 1708 / second for 1 second a fear/chill combo, 2 seconds if 100% fear duration. Oh no the horror … . Also like I said before this burst comes at a price either a lower sustained damage or sustain.

Uhh no. There’s no reason at all to nerf deathly chill at all! Condi burst? What? What?? yeah uhhh no. You must be in the wrong forum if you think we have over the top condi burst. Bye Felicia.

This is assuming a hypothetical buff to Terror increasing its damage upwards of 200% or so. Besides, the only classes that can push out higher condi damage quickly are Warr and Engi, and they are utterly unable to do so in a realistic PvP situation unlike Necro.

Why do you need to nerf deathly chill for it though?

Because I can see condi burst spiralling out of control if there’s just buffs and no nerfs. I’d rather not have another dhuumfire where they nerf everything except the problem until they do nerf the problem while never reverting the other changes they made because of the problem in the first place leaving us worse off than we began.

So I was thingken about traits the other day and it hit me that in the average Carrion build in PvP you’ll be pulling about 800 damage from chill and I found myself comparing it to Terror and I realized Terror is bloody awful in comparison. Because perma-Chill is actually possible whereas perma-Fear, probably for the better, isn’t possible.

I think Terror needs a proper damage upgrade to really make Fear feel like some manner of burst condition like it did when conds were much weaker back in the day with Deathly Chill going back to how it was at the launch of HoT, with the damage only being 50% of what it is right now above 50% HP.

Something definitely needs to be done about Chronos and Tempests in this mode. Maybe make NPCs unable to gain superspeed, distortion and have them receive reduced healing by maybe -75% or so.

We have had a dev reply to this. They want to avoid skill splits between modes as much as possible so as to not confuse new players.

What? Confuse new players?…..they have zero respect for customers, they think players are just kittened

If I remember correctly it was something along the lines of them wanting players that come in fresh from other modes to be able to go in with the build they’ve been using in WvW/PvE and not have to switch it up because skills and traits have different functionalities.

The raid bosses are themed after the dungeons in the level order.

Gors is ghost-themed
AC is ghost-themed

Sabetha is a bandit
CM is bandits

VG doesn’t matter because he’s basically a tutorial.

So the next raid wing will obviously have a sylvari boss and a dredge boss for sure.

Yeah. The old meta with Cele Rifle Engi/Cele D/D Ele/Cele Shoutbow + Thief was infinitely much worse.

The current one is hardly perfect. But it can’t get much worse than it was back then.

I thought the game was worse back when teams just stacked D/D Ele and shoutbow.

This is much better. Buff Thief and Warr some and slap some nerfs on Chrono and Tempest and its as good as its going to get.

Edit: Actually just Warr needs a buff, nerfing Chrono and Tempest should be enough of an indirect buff to Daredevil that it should warrant a spot on a team again.

How could you not know know this? Death Shroud damage scaling with your weapon damage is like one of the oldest Necro things.

Maybe because Anet said they removed that feature prior to the trait changes.

They also said they would release new fractals on a regular basis. Look how that turned out.

Most leaps are wonky. In terms of getting stuck on pebbles or just outright having you leap in a different direction than intended Death’s Charge is the worst. Guardian’s Leap of Faith is the one that feels the most fluid and stable alongside Savage Leap.

They made the F1 create multiple fire fields because it was an easy fix at the time with limited repercussions that they could see. The goal was to make it a square AOE instead of a circular AOE. I think, ultimately, what they’ll do is make it one long AOE like Wildfire or make all fields have the same AOE limit tracking (so it can’t hit the same target multiple times).

I’ll be sure to include this in my next report anyway.

Making it like Wildfire and increasing burning damage/giving it some initial burn would make it a bit more impactful in PvP.

As long as they don’t concentrate too much of Burnzerker’s condi damage output into that single skill if it works like Wildfire. It will be worse than old RoF on nodes if they do. They will have to spread the damage potential out between skills.

Shadowstep isn’t “running really fast” it’s stepping through the mists.

It’s how it works in the engine though. Almost all teleports simply make you go from Point A to Point B really fast. Thus things like getting knocked down after teleporting through guardian hammer ring happens or happened, don’t know if that has been patched out or not. There’s like 3 or so skills in the game that actually takes you directly from your current X and Y elevation to another X and Y elevation.

I dunno man, Jade Maw requires more player input. Swamp is pretty chill since you can just stand on the stick and press 1 while doing something else. On maw you actually have to look at the screen and stuff.

Necro performance varies hugely on each raid boss. Vale guard neither builds are amazing. But dps tank is still probably one of the best tanks. For Gorseval dps tank is really good. Sabetha I would say scepter Condi is really good for everything except the cannons. You can take the range dps role to lure fireballs without losing dps.

We had Tempest luring the fire and drawing the arrow.

I was on cannon duty for Sabetha because you can kill the cannons in 5 sec by casting locusts just as someone launches you and aim well with fast with range indicator so it drops the moment you drop yourself and you just smack it with gs. I’d say power is better because minimizing time spent on platforms is better in the long run.

Let me ask you do you think he was doing 20k+ DPS over the fight? Do you think that meter was accurate?

I’d trust that damage meter more than anything Nemesis has to say on the matter.

And as far as I’m aware the meter only has functionality issues when you’re logging more than 18~ hits per second since it doesn’t read memory and works on snapshots.

Do you trust it enough to not do your own calculations?

If I calculate it I’ll end up with Potato² as my DPS.

Yeah I was peaking at 25-30k per Gravedigger + Wells/Nightfall, Flesh Golem, Burning/Leeching Bolts and about 450 dps from Deathly Chill against Sabetha. I don’t see how condi compares.

Daredevil by far if its a 1v1. Thankfully Daredevils/Thieves are almost extinct after 3 years of never being outside the meta. Lets hope it stays this way.

I don’t see Condi Reaper working on Gorseval. The ramp time for conds would make it impossible. When I cleared it I had to execute and squeeze the absolute utmost out of zerk bursts between phases.

While the Dunning-Kruger effect is very much real, Anets matchmaking that will actively try to make you lose to keep your w/l rate at an even 50% is also very much real. Its quite understandable that this system gets under the skin of many people.

The other argument would be, 10 people form a raid group,the 10 person raid is very happy and they start trying to kill the first raid boss, After 1 attempt they fail miserably, people start blaming each other, then they look at the DPS meter, every is doing above 7k dps, so it cant be the dps right? Nah if you are a pro then u can do 8k dps, hence anyone who is below 8k dps gets the boot! You see my point? if not I will continue. After booting the two person who are below 8k dps, the newly formed 10 person group tries again, but once again they fail miserably, so the raid leader looks at the DPS meter, ok everyone is doing above 8k dps, so it cant be the dps right? NAH if you are a pro then you should be able to do above 9k dps, and the 2 person who did below 9k dps are booted, but wait, “pls dont boot me says the 2 person we misclicked and this is our first try pls give us a chance!” The raid leader then says I dont have time for this NOOB BS! and boot! and if you are wondering where I got this example from just go play WOW and you will understand!

All them hyperboles. Raids aren’t meant to be pugged, so your example shouldn’t be a problem to begin with. There’s nothing wrong with replacing players that perform sub-optimally either. If you are the one being replaced a it sorta means you need to get better.

It’s also worth mentioning that this isn’t WoW. The playerbase is significantly smaller and thus players here can’t be quite as picky. Players who aren’t utterly awful don’t grow on trees after all.
