I hope one of the next feature infos will discuss map improvements.
I’d be much more interested in seeing this, than seeing the players’ ranks.
Here’s my thought, to remove the “ridicule”-problem:
Only show the two players with the most points on the Scoreboard (for each team).
If possible, every player could also see their own points in addition to that.
Could you please give us a hint, if it might be a good idea to use the skins I earned in PvE and are currently in my bank? I mean turning them into PvP-items and put them in the PvP locker, at this point?
I’m not looking at the rank much, but I’ll admit this is something that gets to me too: I win a dozen games in a row and then I lose almost as many. I don’t change my play style inbetween. It’s seems to be all about who I get teamed up with and/or what professions are on each team.
Bwahaha. Great
ALL. OF. THEM.
Wait. Allie, you didn’t just say that in a… certain voice? … did you?
:)
So I’m just asking: how difficult (technically), would it be to make everyone the same size while in pvp? Would it be simply a matter of scaling, or would it involve a massive amount of work and redoing every race’s running and casting animations from scratch?
Making characters smaller or bigger is already in-game, for example Skills 4 + 5 on this:

I gotta agree here. Doesn’t matter what I think about the actual change.
But the fact that skins get changed after I buy them, will make me think twice about the next purchase.

Unfortunately we cannot grant retroactive rewards with this type of change but just wait to see how we deal with this come the feature build!
I’m also surprised about the sudden outcry. They’ve been telling us for weeks, this patch would only change things around glory. Did you think they were joking?
Hmm, for me it’s most often the 5th person not even showing up at the beginning.
… and then all you gotta do is shadowrefuge, heal up then 100b them to death with your longbow elementalist.
Why didn’t I think of that…
mighty meak! We are not worthy!
Uh, the link is 13 posts above yours
So it’s the beauty that makes me cry, when I see this? Could have fooled me…
Nicely summarized.
I hope someone listens.
We don’t know yet how the rank / rank point change is going to affect long-time players, once the feature build rolls in. Perhaps we will all get a rank increase according to the new rules.
We just don’t know yet, one way or the other.
Well, there’s a difference about them knowing about it and Allie bringing it up, until it can’t be ignored anymore
13 minutes ago. Hurry…
Yes, my last several Solo Q games felt very unfair too. I actually laughed when I saw the first Shark finisher flying.
When your team’s highest Rank is 42 with several in their teens and the other has several in their 60s, something’s not going right…
I do wonder why it feels to happen more frequently all of a sudden.
Just in case you missed it:

I don’t mean they will be adding things. Just that the random spot of a Glory booster will be filled by something else – but nothing that’s not in there already.
But no, I don’t have proof either way.
Can you please show us the armor you were issued to survive the forum?
I’d recommend opening them now. You won’t get different rewards if you wait.
Actually the Glory boosters will not be in the loot tables anymore, so their spot should be filled by something else then.
Why is the feature build such a big secret?
From my understanding the vendor who also sells Tomes of Knowledge will still be there.
Really no. Guardian with AH is utterly brain dead.
Can you share this braindead AH-build? I’d like to see for myself.
Is this where the top end rewards for the season come from or should these have a completely different rewards structure.
I feel they should be different. I think there’s a not-so-small player base that is willing to play well and play a lot, but can’t commit to playing at specific times.
One of the original CDI-questions was about player participation. And there would be little as demotivating, as knowing you can’t get any of the good rewards, no matter how well you play during the season, just because you can’t be there, when the “end of season tournament” happens.
And as for balance patches:
I think they should occur during seasons, as often as necessary. While it might be upsetting to some, to have part of their play style changed during a season, that’s still much better than a whole class being hard-countered due to some balance issue.
Ah, yes, you’re right. They would dominate their matches.
So… I see some good suggestions on how to improve on the map, if not removed. And how Team Q might be able to counterplay it on a premade team.
What I don’t see is a single reason why they are in Solo Q, but not in Team Q.
Interesting.
Did you try putting it in the back and retrieving it again? Sometimes this helps “reset” the item.
This bug has returned today.
It’s the new meta. Decap Ranger – noone decaps their own point better.
Seriously, I’ve seen a lot of fighting not-on-point today. Something odd is happening…
It’s definitely the weekend.
I usually ignore that stuff. When it gets too much I block the person. If it should cross a certain line, I would report, but that wasn’t necessary yet.
And something to remember: Every time someone feels it necessary to start trash talking, he’s taking time out of his play and so not contributing to his team. Now who’s the worse player?
Well, I think it also quickly degenerates into mindless Orb Carrying (if your team happens to have the classes for it). The orbs are supposed to be secondary objectives. But they are so frequent and give so many points they become primary.
I’d compare this to being able to kill the Lord on Foefire over and over again.
Play what’s most fun to you.
Why are those two maps in Solo Q but not in Team Q?
People here keep asking for them to be removed from Solo Q, because of their many issues.
If these two maps are deemed okay and the forum users are “only” a vocal minority, why are they not in Team Q?
I don’t get it.
I just had a several matches that were a lot of fun and just one that was not. The difference, I just realized? The first few had 1 warrior max, the other 3. Hmm…
Menders can heal the Knights. Awesome.

Tried the event 4 times today. 4 times it failed because of Blue getting back to full health.
This mechanic seems to doom every overflow.
I was just in the cannon room, by the door, when suddenly I am free-falling. I wasn’t pulled or pushed, just an immediate switch from standing at the door to falling. As if I was teleported down?
Does anyone know what that might have been?
@OIIIIIO.7825
Well, yes, but…
This one is linked in the sticky, so it’s what a new person would find and then be confused about things not working that way for him.
Also a new player can’t differentiate between helpful for him videos and others, which are more helpful to more experienced players.
It would help, if there was a clear list of videos/infos “for beginners” “for Solo Q” “for TeamQ”.
Someone needs to implement an instructional videos (discussing strategies and such) for noobs entering tPvP for the first time. And they should be forced to watch it.
Like This?
Guild Wars 2 – Team rotation guide – Forest of niflhel
http://youtu.be/ZczwwJFVcMI
I just rewatched this video. I don’t think this will help new players much. The main point of the video is “… if this happens, tell your team… communicate to your team… ask your team.”
Not gonna happen in Solo Queue. If people ping the map there, they’re highly communicative.
So I’m not sure, this is really that helpful to a new player.
I’ve thought of a few more things, since I wrote on the first page of this thread – so I’d like to add these:
Profession specific rewards
In addition to “over-all-best” for each tier, I think it would be a good idea to also have rewards/titles per profession. So if for example the best Elementalist comes in only at position 20, he can still be “best ele in tier x.”
I think this would help with whatever class imbalances might be happening at the time.
Solo Queue scoring
I mentioned this in my original post, however I’d like to emphasize, how important I think this is.
- A team should win as a team, so winning a match should awards most points.
- A solo player however should be scored differently. His individual effort needs to be awarded.
I think people give up playing, when they perceive themselves to be playing well, but not being able to win matches due to incompatible teams.
This would also help in making a clearer distinction about these two game modes.
Profession mix
For Solo Queue in the new ladder system, the matchmaking should try to balance the professions on both teams. It’s much more fun when there’s a good mix of professions.
Dear ArenaNet,
Please tweak your Solo-Q matchmaking to have a better mix of professions on each team.
4 Rangers vs. 4 Warriors is no fun.
Thank you.
Has there ever been an official response, why Team Q gives much higher rewards?
Stay on point and laugh because I have a little piece of wood that keeps me on point despite the engi’s best effort to spam cc on me.
What? Little piece of wood? Enlighten me please, what is this anti-cc piece of wood?
I attempted to just figure out what was the most annoying thing each of the classes that gets complained about has.
I think this is the best attempt I’ve seen recently. Concise and to the point. And no personal vendettas
Anet, hire this person!
All very good suggestions. I’d add something about the stun lock / immobilize-stacking issue.
