I cant view thr build on the link, as im limited to mobile for a while.

This part confuses me though:

the healing gear is there so i can have sustain when my heal is on cd.

Dont you mean toughness? Healing power wont do anything if youre not healing :P.

What do you want to do with this build? If its pvp and youre new to mesmer, i recommend trying some Spvp first. Its free to change build etc. as a mesmer youre really not supposed to take many hits, unless youre specced for it, in which case youll lose out on damage. losing damage isnt nescesary a problem, unless you plan to do serious wvw/solo roaming or something.

All mesmer builds have phantasms :o you have 1 on each weaponset.
For fighting outnumbered i recommend a shatter build, also for solo roamig and group play. (Although it doesnt have support traits)

The Shattercat heavy 3.0 has the higest passive survivability out of all Shattercats, including -60% condition uptime on you, all while maintaining it’s high burst and having 70+ bleed ticks average, going up to 90 sometimes sihout needing condition damage gear.

You can swap decoy or blink for veil if you want, nothing set in stone.

If you want phantasm damage you could use the Shatter cat phantasm hybrid this build doesnt use a focus though.

If you want more phantasm damage and less “finesse” to your playstyle, you can try a phantasm damage with a 10/10/0/25/0 build. It wont be very effective with a focus though.

If you want a boon support build that has veil by defaut, try the 0/10/30/30/0 Chaos Maestro (vid )build . It uses phantasms to supply permanent regen, which heals 300+ per second. Sword focus and staff for boons, veil and other stealth for massive protection uptime and more! Youre not supposed to win a 1vs3 with it though, but in outnumbered team situations youll make everyone around you very resillient.

900 gets you out of hot water, either way.

It should be 1200 standard and no it doesnt always you can still get charged, stunned and such at 900

I just have 3 human pvp characters.

The only reason i made them human is because i dont want to have like 9 sylvari :P
That, and they have enormous boobs, which is nice sometimes.

What annoys me more is that 90% of all human npcs also have that same body type.

Somehow when i look at my sylvari I think the breasts are way too small O.o. While if it was real life it was oversized xD. Oh well, they still have a nice shape.

Ive seen videos of MMOs where the breasts are literally pine cones (ice cones?)or somehing >_<.

edit: Its also really weird that breasts jiggle when wearing metal armor o.O.

edit: i have a human female guardian with rhe largest bust size, and the jiggle anmation really makes it look as if theyre not even attached to her body >_<. Like they have minds of their own :o.

Somehow this would be really cool. Especially the “this wot end well” when going in combat thing xD.

No one disagrees that there on items which make a profit. The disagreement is that the profit is worthwhile compared to say, farming champions or QP.

For me its worth it :P farming champa and stuff isnt really my thing. I do occasionally kill some though.

Just like with flipping, you can make your time more worthwhile by opimisig your strategy. Ive heard people in my guild complain they spend 8 hours flipping for 20g profit >_<. Im pretty sure it traumatised them, and they wont be touching the TP for a while :P.

The only thing rhat really takes time in crafting is waiting for those 750 green planks to be crafted… While those craft you can look for the next item and compare prices etc.
ok, 750 green wood planks is a bad example, maybe 50 blades or something.
anyway, theres usually enough time to look for more items to craft while youre actually waiting for the crafting to finish :P. assuming my tp doesnt gt a weird error and makes me relog D :

edit: i spend 20-30 minutes buying mats, selling products, updating lists etc per day. It really doesnt have to take a lot of time : D

Some people just want to buy items now, so they use the buyout option, saving time.
Flippers dont use thr buyout option, but they place low ordere, which cost time. Then they place sell listings, which costs more time.

People who want to buy items now dont want to wait and will pay extra for someone else to wait for them, and thats where flippers can make some money.

I really dont see how its the flippers’ fault that other people throw money at thrm.

It would have the same cooldown as blink, and its actually better than blink due to not needing line of sight, having a longer range and multiple uses etc.

An option to make portal useable only by you would be cool.

Usually when i portal stomp in a big fight, people will randomly go through it and get confused xD really funy :P

As you all probably remember, the portal cooldown used to be 60, but they changed it to 90. Its a nerf, ok, i can live with that. But what annoys me is Anet’s reaaoning behind the change, it was something like:

“Portal is overpowered in zergs, so it has to be nerfed”

What they may or may not know, there are still jp-, pvp- and wvwers that use it solo, and they suffer from it. Which is unjustified if you ask me.

In my oppinion it should be a 60s cooldown, but when more people use it, the cooldown goes up. Something like: (brace yourselves, I’m about to use bullet points!)

wvw and hotjoin pvp

• 1-2: 60CD
• 3-9: 75CD
• >10: 90CD

Tpvp

• 1: 60CD
• 2: 75CD
• 3: 90CD
• 4: 90CD
• 5: 90CD

pve

• 1-5: 60CD
• 6-10: 70CD
• 11-15: 80CD
• 16-20: 90CD
  Or something?

I think the range combined with lower CD would be a bit overkill, though. Maybe the range could be lowered, but only count horizontal so its still usable in jumping puzzles.

Oh, they have seen good Mesmers! They are simply under the illusion that they haven’t.

We already lose all conditions when downed.
I also like the rogue, it does massive damage in power builds :o.

I really like deception. Its a 100% stomp interupter(in a teamfight), something other professions can only dream of :o.

If we didnt have he stealth it wouldnt be 100% :P.

I dont like the #4 though. It should spawn a phantasmal berserker on each pulse and give me permanent protection while i channel it. Making it interupted by damage is also silly, no other skill in the game is interupted by that. And while were at it, it should scale with healig power. Heal +100% faster per 100 healing power.
As of now, we have no chance of killing a player if were downed and theyre not. If #4 was changed like this we wouldnt have to feel so… Close to death while downed.

This #4 would only be available to mesmers ofcourse.

It seemed like the keg would hit me point-blank and still explode… Maybe i should finally get some excerise >__<.

I actualy had the exact same thing early a guardian and mesmer were getting oliberated by oozes, so i figured id mention feedback/wall of reflection.

I got something like: its a dps race, i need moar deeps, not some silly reflection!
And the mesmer actually explained his whole build to me and told me why taking feedback was impossibru. Yea, things like that.

Some people in general are jerks, not only good players :/.

One time i died in the gauntlet, and there were 2 from the aame guild farming it. They didnt even revive me… Just farmed it and saw me as some kind of obstacle >_<.

Or the situation that happens eery single time im with 1 other person:

1. person goes in a fight
2. i revive person
3. i go in the gauntlet
4. i die
5. person goes in
6. person dies OR he wins and just ignores me and goes in again >_<.

I’m curious (since I have only ever used zerker gear with either phantasm (and shatter when I first started) builds), what support utilities (aside from mantra heals) are better when not running full zerker?

Runes of altruism procs, better regeneration from phantasmal healing, sigil of water, boon duration from runes… Thats abou it i think.
You dont have to turn your damage into nothingness, you can use a berserker set with runes if altruism. Youd do damage with 10 domination and 25 inspiration, but still have boon support!

With sigils of battle and constantly swapping you have perma 12 might, add to that fury and might from altruism runes and signet of inspiration, and you boosted party dps by quite alot :P.

Try using 0/30/10/0/30
If getting to champions in time before they die is an issue, trait blink for longer range and short cooldown (1200range, 24CD).
You can even try 0/20/10/10/30 for compounding celerity, which increases movement speed. Youd lose the sword cooldowns though.

Mantra healin heals like 2700 sith 0 healing power, i tet 3000 with full clerics.
The clerics is pretty much for rune of water procs and reeneration from phantasms.
I want to get a support set withrunes of altruism but without healing aswell, just in case theres a banner warrior or the like with already perma regen.
Theres no poin in having double perma regen :P.

If you think mesmers are only usefull for portals, you havent seen a decent mesmer yet.

I always assume their skin is soft to the touch. My dreams wouldnt be as fun if they were hard.

If you just want to tag stuff in zerg evrnts… You best bet would be to go with sword/focus, greatsword.
Use 0/20/0/0/30 as build, mirror images as utility.

The phantasms are aoe and should get you alot of tags, you can also shatter in melee range to tag up to 5 things.

I have 3 sets and 3 trinket sets:
(Brace yourself, I’m about to use bullet points!)

• Knight head shoulder coat gloves, berserker skirt and boots, runes of hoelbrak. Its also my T3 cultural so the one i wear the most ^__^
• full cleric, armaggedon top and apprentice skirt, runes of altruism. Use it for boon support and healing.
• full berserker set with runes of air, the new phoenix gem store clothes
• i want another half berserker and knight set with runes of altruism, but i cant afford. It eould be for boon support without healing

• cavalier rings, usually use these in wvw combined with the 1st set, or in pve when i need a bit more pasive defense
• berserker rings
• cleric rings
• berserker amulet, cleric amulet
• berserker assesories, knights and clerics. I wanted to buy cavalier instead of knigbt, but i wasnt paying attention and got knight >_<.
• berserker backpiece. Its too expensive to replace, so.

• all berserker: super sword of fire, the anomaly of battle, super staff of battle, zenith cesta, zenith avenger of fire, zenith pistol, winter sword (cant remember the name) of fire, frying pan.

• pearl sword of accuracy, krait focus of accuracy. For accuracy stacking :P.

I bought the planty one first because i like planty stuff and it was more expensive, so i figured more awesome… It wasnt :’(.
I think the spectre sword sounds are reeaaallly satisfying aswell. Shame i probably kill prople more often with just damage than actually finishing them :/.

Now i can only use them 15 times, and they could literally be gone in a single pvp match.

Yup, you can put them anywhere you like! I usually use 10/10/0/25/25 in pvp… But then again, its been months since i used a phantasm build :P.

If you want to do open world pve with sword/sword, staff, i recommend a shatter build!

Use 0/20/0/0/30 as traits, with blade training, deceptive evasion and illusionary persona.
10 domination is recommended for mental torment (mind wrack damage), but you can really putthem anywhere you like!

10 chaos allows you to swap for the fall damage trait, or swap it to master of manipulation for blinking across the map faster!

Use direct damage war and youre pretty much set.

Theres alot of viable pvp builds other than Pyro’s OP build!

For phantasm, all you really need is 10/0/0/25/0. You can put 25 in illusions and 10 in dueling for example, or anything else you feel like. 10dueling is highly recommended though! Also avoid the torch because rhe phantasm is kitten.

Theres alot of viable condition builds aswell, they usually use the staff and clone on death traits, i think.

Practice. Shatter builds usually use berserker amulets, and mesmer relies alot on active defense. Try duelijg with a warrior and only stand there auto attacking, the warrior will walk away with like 75% health left xD.

Shatter builds always have decoy and blink for survivability and flexibility. If you cant survive with those, then you can try adding a staff for more defense ^__^.

Im usually sittin on like 16k hp, i actually avoid vitality as a stat on my gear. I just dont find it very usefull.

I only use those ascended trinkets that give 16 vit or so, but other than that i go for toughness.

For me progression in pvp is becoming better at combat… Not.. Grinding >_<.

Thats what it is, grinding. The other day i saw a rank 50ish engineer, i got in conversation and dueled him… Al he really did was spam grenades and he had no idea how to counter me :P.

We need some sort of rating that showe actual skill, not a rank that shows hoe much someone has grinded >_<.

I just wanted to get the followin out there: you ehouldnt do solo Q if youre a new player.

Solo Q is like a tournament where no one knows each other, hot join games are aupposed to be for new players.

For some reason arenanet didnt make a simple tutorial that shows new players the way…

The game browser is somewhere west of the tournament browser, strategy diesnt matter there and youre in a safe environment where you can test your builds and combat etc.

Dont worry abor feeling youre not learning anything, theres a huge skill cap! You just dint know it exists because you never saw t, probably.

Inthe game browser there are some custom arenas that are meant for 1vs1, where experienced players duel and stuff.

Heres a video of one of the best mesmers i know and a thief doing a 2vs15 or something
And those 15 just have no idea whats happening :P.

That said: dont do solo Q, do hotjoin

I already love signet of domination with a pistol/condition build. a little more condition damage might just be icing on the cake. But I do wonder if the extra 80 condition damage would actually be worth taking up a trait spot.

Maybe signet of domination should do something with control effects? Or confusion?

Maybe make the traited signet give “33% increased daze and stun duration” or “inflict conditions when dealing damage to a controlled foe”.
I like the second one because its a condition signet, i was thinking 1stack confusion for 10s with an internal cooldown of 1s!

As much as id like to see Osicat kick this kitten, there are 2 reasons why he cant :(.

1. Themenaceoftheseenthdimension is on an american server
2. Osicat plays purely for fun and has no need to kick kittens show his skills off like this.

The midnight one would be OP, I really like the other ideas though!
I also have 2 other trait ideas:
Blurred inscriptions: (dueling master) activating signets applies 1 s distortion.. Activating signets are instant.
Signet mastery (chaos master): signets have 20% decreased cooldowns and apply 10s swiftness when activated.

Maybe we can add your idea and put it in domination or something! So the traits would be spread out nicely.

I think it would be cool if the signet of midnight + trait gives 25% increased movement speed as passive! In my trait rebalance thread i have a spot open in domination adept, would make open world pve allt easier at level20 ^__^.

You should probably go into hotjoin instead of solo queue :/.

Solo queue is the solo version of… Team queue.

Its like pvp where everyone assumes other players have a sense of strategy and already know their profession more or less inside out.

That said, shatter is not the only viable mesmer pvp build! Maybe for tournaments it is, but definitely not for combat. (There isnt that much combat involved in tournaments >_<).

A shatter template would look like 0/20/0/0/30, with a berserkers amulet. You always use a main hand sword, all other weapons are viable, and i mean all of them!
Recommended is a ataff fir defense or a greatsword for more offense.

Recommended utilities are decoy and blink for flexibility, the 3rd slot is up to you!

Arenanet should really do something like a tutorial for new people im seeing so many first-time players in tournaments >_<

edit: if you prefer a style thats easier to get into and requires less finesse, try phantasm!
With this style you use phantasms as your primary source of damage while you do other stuff! Stuff like, surviving or something!
A trait template would look like 10/0/0/25/0 for phantasm damage (take empowered illusions in domination). You can use any weapon but you should avoid the torch because the phantasm is a kitten, a really bad kitten.

Going to assusme youre a mid-point bunker.

If youre he only one of your team in the circle, then going stealth will make the circle decap towards the other team. If there are others in melee range with you then stealth will work though, especially with the inspiration signet!

I think the disenchanter isnt very usefull when youre trying to bunker, the aoe spam will probably kill it after it attacked once :o.
Null field would be cool as condi removal, it would also remove boons from the enemy bunker. If it removes stability youd be able to knock him out and maybe cap the point too!

You can combo blasts wih engineers to keep perma chaos armor, not sure if its worth over ofher combos though. Haing alot of vhaos armor (including on illusions if your team is gone) would punish grenade engis and the like a lot though!

I never played bunker, but one thing i notice when i play with one is that thy also carry some control, like the shield push or the shorld push on res trait.
I would get downed somewhere in the circle, and the bunker would rush over and knock things away, even stealthed thieves. When the foe has stability im screwed though.
Your build can do the same, with a staff or focus, If you take null field you can even interupt people using stability.

On my shatter build i usually put chaos storms or temporal curtains just before i revive someone. It actually has lower cooldown and both are instant/lingering while we revive and wait to activate it compared to the guardian shield push.

Your null field also cleanses poison on downed allies! Guardians can do that too, though.

I cant view the build link on mobile, so i assume youre using mantra of resolve, Veil, inspiration sig? If thats the case, id definitely swal it for nullfield for the sake of support :P.
Might aswell get glamour mastery dor nullfield + veil (just throwing out some random thoughts). Mantra of recovery is still the best self healig per second though.

That said, i sill believe, and i quote:

anything any other profession can do, Mesmer can be specialized for too.

The flaw in every shatter cat build is the lack of constant Dodges and long Blink cds. this build is designed to manage that and to be able to perfectly disorient your opponent.

Every Shattercat has in theory permanent vigor due to all of them having 20 dueling.

I can think of atleast 4 Shattercats that have Master of Manipulation as flexible trait:

1. Shatterccat Mist
2. Shattercat Heavy
3. Shattercat Heavy 2.0
4. Shattercat heavy 3.0

Your build is (I assume) a shatter build. A Shattercat is a shatter build created by Osi cat. If you already knew this, then you ahouldve done research before making (false) statements like:

I’m limited to mobile for atleast a week, so i cant see your build. Im going to aasume its 0/20/10/10/30 though. I dont recommend taking 10 inspiration for shatter vigor, as you already have permanent vigor in theory with 5 dueling. Youre better of with 10 domination for Mental Torment regardless of weapons, or 20 Chaos if using a staff.

There’s not really a point in purposely creating 3 clones as soon as you shatter, unless you’re going to shatter again, use staff clones, want to ether feast, or have 3% damage reduction per illusion.

It’s not havig 3 clones up that disorients people, neither is it which skills or build you use.

It’s about how someone uses what’s available to them.

It hasnt been plaguein me actually. Its only been a minor annoyance when i got my anomaly focus and it didnt show on my clones.

I never did this, not even when i started out and assumed people dient know the difference between me and clones (even though this was, and still is the case with some/most people). I just go for the best looking stuff no matter what!

We shouldn’t have to give up on having nice looking equipment just because they can’t be bothered to fix our most basic class mechanic.

We dont have to. Having people know where you are opposing to clones shouldnt mean victory or defeat. Really, only kittens will get confused by clones, and they probably die anyway.
