Dev playing a warrior with GodMode On, priceless.
asd how insane is that regeneration? Anet must really be blind to allow something like this to stay in the game..
I can get almost half of that regen from Backpack Regen trait on top of my healing turret which is already one of the best heals in the game. The pot really shouldn’t call the tea kettle black.
the condition your referring to is “burning” damage. The burning applied from FT skills stack in duration with the "burning’ condition damage from incendiary powder, as well “incendiary ammo” the toolbelt FT skill that adds burning to your next 3 attacks stacks into it. The damage from flame jet (FT #1) that you see is actually direct damage.
OK thanks
I was wondering if the flame condition from Flame Jet (flamethrower auto) overrides the incendiary powder trait. I ask because the Flame Jet’s auto does a measily 600 condition damage whereas Incendiary Powder does up to 4.5k the way I’m currently traited. However I don’t ever seem to see this 4.5k damage when I’m spamming the auto attack, only when I swap to my rifle and get a crit hit in causing the trait to trigger. Is this supposed to happen?
HAHAAHAHAHAHA another Turrets!!
would be cool if they were good to start with.
I like the concept of a vacuum turret but seriously they are unusable in pve.
So? What’s the problem with that? Lots of classes have skills that are only really useful in PvP/WvW situations.
Yeah because engineers need another turret for their already impressive collection of useless turrets with more bugs than other classes have in total.
As stated, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t add a new turret without doing some tweaks to the existing trait line. If you’ve ever used net turret in PVP you would know that they’re not all useless. Rifle turret has it’s moments in static discharge builds for that extra bit of damage. The utility on rocket turrets can be great in WvW.
I’ve never been able to burst down anybody with the standard SD build in PvP, usually they get about a heal off or so before I down them. Is PVE damage just a lot better?
Because in relation to all of the other skills/traits of its nature, like mist form for example, they lost all access to their skills, preventing them from healing or using any other skill. SO I guess the more direct answer to your question is that in relation to other skills of the same function, it was overpowered, which is why the guy in that video could do alot of what he did.
Warriors get Endure Pain which give’s them 4 seconds of damage immunity (1 second longer the both Mist Form and Elixir S) and they still have complete access to their skills. Also it doesn’t have any visual changes, i.e., you can tell an engineers immune to damage because they’re 1/10th of their original size, and Ele’s turn into white mist. You only know Endure Pain is up when you waste all your cooldowns only to see them hitting 0s. Oh, they can also cap points using this. They should buff Elixir S and Mist Form to at least get condition damage immunity…

I recall hearing early on from Anet that Mesmers & Necros would be the hardest classes. I can’t comment on Mesmers as I haven’t made one yet, but I have played a Necro & it seems to be significantly more difficult to play Engineer (but a lot more fun too).
If you want my advice, avoid using the auto-attack on grenades – they’re too error-prone and there’s better options for damage. Try and open up with grenades using the freeze grenades, followed by poison, and then lay down some sharpnel. I usually rock bomb kit and toolkit along with grenades, after I lay my initial 5-> 4 -> 2 grenade combo I drop a Big-ol’bomb, followed by Toolkit magnet pull, and if you have time smack them over the head with the prybar before Big’ol’bomb sends them flying for some good damage and 5 stacks of confusion. At this point while they’re down on the ground I’ll try and drop a grenade barrage followed by some more shrapnel. While everything is on cooldown it’s a good time to bust out your primary weapon(s).
If you want a bit more survivability swap out bomb kit with elixr s – the toolbelt gives you three seconds of stealth which is plenty of time to disengage and heal. The invulnerability is good for the inevitable burst builds and cc warriors that you’ll come across. Laugh in their face as they waste all their cool-downs then lay some hurt. It’s also great for stomping every class other than mesmers and eles.

It would certainly dovetail nicely with the Thumper turret and Flame Turret as a “This spot is a bad place to be” Turret.
I’m not sure if this is going to be something that players will get, though – that’s an NPC using it, and NPCs get all sorts of strange things they do. If they give it to us, great, if they don’t…well, I won’t be surprised.
Just another thing for me to bugtest, anyway, in all likelihood.
I don’t think they would just throw us a random new turret in willy-nilly without first having a serious discussion about the existing turret suite and traits – which frankly I would be more excited about. Hasn’t there been trait/utility re-works for other classes before?
I doubt that the engineer class never crossed the dev teams mind as they were developing this new heavily turret-based NPC.
I see this on my Engineer’s Rifle 4 pushback, as well as the Toolkit 4 pull all the time as of late. I always thought it was just lag.
I tried to post this on Reddit, but it got filtered out for some reason. Anyways did anybody see the vacuum turret in the Edge of the Mists preview yesterday? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfIg0VrXUDU&feature=youtu.be&t=12m42s to see what I mean.
It kind of looks like a thumper turret but with a periodic suction/knockdown mechanic instead of the cripple. I could easily see myself incorporating this into my PvP build, do you think they will ever plan on adding it to our kitten nal? I’m going to put my rose-coloured glasses on for a second and say that this might even be an indicator of an upcoming overhaul to the very underused turret utilities/trait line.

I’m a cat person, and they remind me of cats.
Because then every other class would want a new weapon.
Honestly I like the speedy kits buff (nerf), now I definietly have a reason to spec into the firearms line for Infused Precision – still basically perma vigor uptime, but now without the extra micro managing involved. The extra precision and condition damage synergizes greatly with the rampager’s set I’m using. I also took a picking up precise sights – if I wasn’t getting 25 stacks of vuln with nades before, I certainly am now.
The best one I’ve seen to date was “Dora the Exploder”.
I was rocking the Rifle Static discharge build w/ Healing Turret, Utility Goggles, Toolkit, and Net Turret for utilities. I’m having a lot of fun with this build, and I do pretty good against most classes. But I do feel completely helpless against warriors with their crazy amounts of stability and burst. Is there a way to combat them without gimping my build? I considered Elixir S in place of Utility Goggles to give me a short term invulnerability / stealth, but the recharge on it is double that of the Utility Goggles toolbelt skill and I feel it might really affect my overall damage output. Kiting them doesn’t seem to be an option either, they have way more mobility than me.
I was having a lot of run-ins with the Frenzy → Bullsrush → Hundred Blades warriors in particular. They pop stability right before going in rendering my nets/overcharged shot useless.

Shift-click skill one for auto-cast….
The screenshot doesn’t make any sense, no Elixir’s so you’re obliviously not using HGH, and all your blast finishers are on cool down. Is there some trait that I missed that gives you insta-25 stacks of might? I have to work my kitten off just to get 20 if I’m lucky with full might duration runes and not gimping my build with kittenty HGH/elixirs.
Edit: Or did you just sit there spamming all your blast finishers to 25 stacks for 5 minutes to get it at a crazy duration?

I was considering getting the flameseeker for my engineer, but every shield I’ve had to date clips terribly through my head in combat stance or on my back. Have any Asura’s with this shield ran into this problem?
How are you glowing?
Ok just got him to 1% on Elonareach right now was in the Frontline 99% of the time. Build:
10/10/20/30/0
Acidic Exlirs for Meele Range 1% Burst or Empowdering Adrenaline for 5% overall DMG (using Evade more often)
Rifled Barrages for the Increased Range
Energized Armor for more Power, Stabilized Armor
Protection Injection, Fast-Acting Elexirs, HGH
Heal:
Healing Turret as Above
Utilitys:
Elixr B, Elixr U, Exlir S
Elite:
Elixr X – Tornado in Healing Field #2 for Healing Bolts AND for Stability @ Waves as well as for Blinding Mobs at Battery Defense (Important!) Rampage for the Stun-Phase for MAX-Damage OR switching to Supply Crate if you dont like the Randomness. Important: Switch out if it ’s to wrong transformation and you dont need the Stability. Ah Yes Rampage is good well for running back from being whiped (only died once this run).
Strategy:
Main-Source of Damage is Rifle #1 (haven’t tested it with 10% more Damage would be worth a try). If you get into the Meele Phase – Pop Elixr U if it isn’t on Cooldown. Burst away with #3, #4 and then #5 and then immediately transform to Rampage and spam away your damaging skills.
Throwing and keeping Exlir B on Cooldown is usefull as well as for your whole Zerg as Retalation on the Posion Fields reflects a good part of damage back to Tequatl.
Exlir U for Damage-Spikes, Exlir-S as a panic button when posion field doesn’t get cleansed right away. And don’t forget to keep Healing Turret Burst (2x #6, F1, F1) on Cooldown.
If Fingers show up near your Zerg/Frontline-Bubble -> Burst away with #3, #4, #5.
I just tried this. Lots of survivability for sure, those waves were rendered negligible. However, the damage on the rifle is just pathetic. I was running full soldiers and couldn’t hit more than 550-600 on Tequatl with my auto. There’s gotta be something better for the front-lines, grenades maybe?
Where does this class really shine with this updated world boss (If at all)? Assume traited/geared for optimum performance at any given task.
Does anybody ever actually do this? Personally, I use the V key bind as I’m almost always mobile (i.e., kiting) and holding down the keys needed to double-tap.
dawwwwwwwwwwwwww
You already asked this question, why did you make another one????

Here’s my thief. She’s wearing full CoE (shoulders/hat hidden).
Note: ORIGINAL COLOR SCHEME DO NOT STEAL
lol? You can’t trademark that. lol.
Is that black dye?
Here’s a few pics of mine, more or less the same armor throughout just various colours and places.

I just spent 2 hours beating AR, didn’t get a monacle though. Is that gonna get mailed to me at some point or is it another random drop chest?
Really sick and tired of using evasive step to find my thief just hop in place instead of jumping backwards. When is this going to be fixed it’s gotten me killed so many times now.
My character seems to occasionally freeze in place whenever I do a cloak and dagger, shadowstep or flanking strike. Anybody else have this problem? It’s been getting me killed for over a few days now…
I seem to be continuously running into a bug with shadow step. Basically whenever I shadowstep my character will be frozen in place temporarily until he receives damage….
Aren’t these things just frozen Oakhearts? Why are they called Icebrood “Norn”? Or are Norn like pokemon and evolve into Oakhearts or something??
What is this “QQ” bullkitten? Has the internet really gotten so lazy it’s making acronyms and kitten for the word “cry”?
Before is my guess, if I recall they doubled the init cost for that skill.
I was wondering if signet passives are only in effect if the signet is off-cooldown? Seems to be that way with Signet of Malice. If so should I not be triggering my signets in PVE?
Thanks
I just got both of them, now I’m curious as to why. Didn’t get a title or anything, no progress towards shattered wings either.

I ended up buying crafting stoofs
I’m now working on my 3rd character who is currently a level 15 asura thief and I’ve managed to amass 30 something gold from maxing my other two accounts, not really sure what I should invest it in if at all.
I was considering getting a crafting discipline, but I wasn’t famaliar with the whole crafting process. Is there any point to getting one? Is there one particular crafting discipline that might be helpful, or give me the most bang for my buck? Or is there something else I aughta invest in?
I know I’m not really noobie per se, this being my third character and all. But I haven’t played for some time and honestly I’m pretty terrible at this game XD.
How do you stop the burning affect when you’re fighting them? I was doing a DE and noticed that attacking them gave my thief a burning condition that dropped me from full health to 0 in a matter of seconds, using my heal did next to nothing. Is there any way to avoid this burning affect?
I’ve only played the thief and the warrior so far so I have no idea what the other classes are about, but when I go into a dungeon and Lieutenant whats-his-face 1 kit KOs me and my teamates, no problem. Vengence + drop a war banner and problems solved. Even when warbanners down and you know you and a teamate probably aren’t going to make it I can still drop a vengeance and rez at least one maybe even two downed teammates before I go.
Obviously the idea is to not get downed in the first place but given the difficulty of dungeons like AC catacombs it’s pretty much preordained to happen at some point and it’s nice to have the comfort of knowing that you can rez allies like a boss.
I’ve sort of built my warrior around condition damage with the bow + sword and shield and to give a lot of support using banners and so forth. Am I totally missing the point of the warrior? Are there better classes to handle this kind of thing?
What do you mean by “forward>forward”?
Is that Angry Joe’s guild? If so I think you can just private message him, they have their own forums if you look it up on his YouTube page. Otherwise you have a couple of ways you can do this.
1) Right click on an Angry Army player’s name in the chatbox and select whisper and send them a message personally.
2) Click on their avatar and then right-click on their picture next to the health-bar and send them a private message.
If they can they’ll be able to send you an invite or let somebody else know who can. If you’re sent an invite you’ll see a prompt popup on the screen to go to their guild panel and join.
I certainly hope so, my Human is the size of a bloody Asura.
I only played the thief prof once in the first beta so I’m not 100% sure, if I was to take a wild guess I would suggest maximizing the precision tree to get as much crit as you can for those flurry attacks that thiefs do. That’s the fundamental mechanic behind my warrior glass cannon build and I’m sure it would apply to a thief all the same.
