[Build/Guide] The Immortal Mesmer v2.0

Sorry, but I don’t see how this build can be effective in a meaningful way.

- Boonshare has been limited a lot since its nerf. You’re at most giving every ~20s: 6s of protection, 6s of quickness, 4s of resistance,10s of fury, 1 stack of stability and 10s of vigor as useful boons. And this is the ideal, but the reality makes boon sharing even worse.
- Distorion share is a nice feature, but it is extremely limited. We are talking about 5-6s every 50s. That is laughable.

So yeah, the build is basically throw some boons and a bit of distortion every a while. And by going with these mechanics, you’re removing the best mesmers get to bring into zergs, glamours and boon ripping.

IMHO, neither of both.
These type of barebone tend to be way more expensive than the necessarily and don’t manage heat very well. Their cooling performance can be awful and with a game like Gw2 that pushes beyond the boundaries, you can expect shut downs or heavy throttling due to overheating.
The Magnus EN 980 seems to be ok with the temperatures, but this is because it’s quite more bigger than most barebones, you’re looking at a 4kg with nearly 6L. And for the 1600$ it costs you can get an insane rocket pc.

If you want to get a smaller, but still capable pc, you should be looking for mini itx builds.

Can gw2 run smoothly on i5 6600 and gtx 960?

in Players Helping Players

Ansau.7326

Getting good performance in Gw2 it is not so about putting as much raw performance as you can, but more about getting the right settings and tricks.
Of course you need some raw power, but once you’re set onto a Haswell i5 at 4GHz and a GTX 960/R9 380, you will get better performance from optimizing other things:

In terms of hardware:
-Fast RAM, 2400MHz cl10 for Haswell and +3000MHz for Skylake/Haswell-E/Broadwell-E.
- Gpu must work at pcie 3.0 x16. Gw2 is very sensible with pcie bandwidth.
- In case of Skylake, set FCLK to 1GHz.

As for software:
- W10 is preferable.
- Disable Reflections.
- Shadows disabled or to “Lowest”.
- Character model limit to “Low”.
- Enable “Effect LOD”.
- Disable “High res character textures”.

Why damage reduction food not nerfed yet?

in WvW

Posted by: Ansau.7326

Ansau.7326

Percentage modifiers is a poor overly complex design mostly thanks to the multiplicative stacking effect. At the very least percentage modifiers should be additive (as in three 10% modifiers are 30% instead of the current 33%). Better yet have all modifiers (food, traits, etc) effect a stat directly and let that work its way out in the calculators.

It’s actually better to have multiplicative modifiers for defenses rather than additive ones.

30+20+10% reduction added = 60% damage reduction

30+20+10% reduction multiplied = 50.4% damage reduction

Damage is currently additive and that’s part of the problem, between Protection, Frost Aura and Rite of the Great Dwarf giving 93% damage reduction

IMO damage reductions should only operate based on the largest reduction rather than a sum of them all

Not true. The first is the actual damage reduction you get, but that 50.4% is the damage received. With multiplicative modifiers, 30+20+10% ends up with a damage reduction of 49.6%.
Damage received is 40% vs 50.4%, damage reduction is 60% vs 49.6%.

When modifiers are <100%, additive is better. If X>100%, multiplicative becomes better.

Do you know that either you’d run axe or shield, but not both? New weapons are tided to elite specializations, and you can only have one of them activated at the same time.

GPU useless?

Ansau.7326

Just because you think there is nothing happening doesn’t mean that it’s actually true. Any city in Gw2 still requires a lot of cpu power. Partially because NPCs aren’t stationary like most mmo out there, partially because in cities combat isn’t disabled and boons and skills still work, and partially because gw2 has an insane drawing distance and cities are usually open areas with tons of objects and things going on.

Then, you’re not making any point by only mentioning the gpu. Once you reach a certain level of gpu performance, the gpu becomes one of the least deciding factors in performance. And that point is rather low, a gtx 960 or r9 380 have plenty of performance to play this game at 1440p ultra +60fps.
Once you reach this level, cpu and its frequency, ram frecuency, pcie speed and optimal settings are way more important than the gpu.
Without mentioning them you aren’t making any point.

Btw, glitches are exclusively a driver/gpu issue. Gw2 has nothing to do with it and Nvidia is the only one to blame, specially with its historical issue horror with Gw2.

As any mmo, mechanics and scenarios involving tons of players are the focus, while visuals come to a second place. By nature, this type of games rely a lot more on the cpu while being light on the gpu.

As Gw2, it is in fact one of the best optimized mmo out there. This is a thing any traditional mmo player will tell you. There’s no game out there that can manage such massive fights as boss fights or ZvZ in EB while keeping aceptable-good framerate.

Pretty disappointed about the patch.

- Pathetic damage boost in sword AA. Only minor slashes get the boost, and it turns to be a ridiculous +3% damage overall.
- Nonsense buff to BF, its damage is underwhelming everywhere, not just pve.
- iDefender, iDisenchanter, Mirror and Mimic are still useless even with the buffs.
- Staff and unused offhand weapons still untouched with all the issues they have.
- Still no fix for the joke of sustain our illusions have in WvW/sPvP.
- Minor pulses from wells are still a joke.

At least they addressed the boonshare and GS AA.

Ansau.7326

1. Make fix damage/stats modifier traits that scale with superfluous things. This goes for Flow of Time, Compowding Power, The Pledge, Illusionary Defense, Chaotic Persistence, Healing Prism, Duelist’s Discipline, Fragility and Mental Anguish.
No other profession has such amount of traits based on scaling mechanic. It’s ridiculous how punished we are if we don’t build 3 illusions.

2. Increase direct damage across all AA. With 2300 power, 220% crit damage and might stacking, staff AA crits just 800-900. First 2 chain of sword AA need crits to go over 1k. A support weapon (Driud staff) does more damage than our GS which is an offensive weapon, when both have the same type of AA.

3. Put more condi cleansing outside Inspirations so we don’t need to invest an entire specialization to have acceptable condi cleansing.

4. Reduce Mantras cast time to 2s and roll back the CDs. The issue has always been with the cast time, not cooldowns.

5. Illusions need some sort of PvE damage reduction love against players or a huge boost in their health pool. They are, by far, the most squishy summoning allies out there, and a joke in PvP/WvW with nearly half the health.

6. Reduce cast time for utility phantasms, and reduce internal CD from 0.75s to 0.5s for all

7. Speed up all projectile based phantasms. iWarlock, iMage, Disenchanter and Defender tend to fail a lot of attacks because the projectile is enough slow to lose the aim.

8. Change Signet of Inspiration to eliminate the copy mechanic. Instead, grant all boons with fixed durations. This way we eliminate the boonshare cheese keeping the skill useful and now being profitable for the user.

9. Roll back Well of Precognition to its previous blur effect. Increase the CD so it doesn’t become spammable.

Conditions doing too much damage?

in WvW

Posted by: Ansau.7326

Ansau.7326

Bunkers doing tons of damage? Discrepency detected. Maybe against very squishy people, but if not feel free to provide proof of the contrary (multiple videos, preferably). Compared to other builds I have a hard time believing this. To go bunker you’re going to need more than just the proper traits, to do tons of damage it’s the same. People who try to balance this aren’t “bunkers”. Just because they’re tanky like most warriors or vanilla guards yet stilldoing good damage doesn’t make them op, I will reiterate, they’re heavies. If the heavy classes go full dmg anyway they will die just as quickly as you will to them if you go glass cannon or not.

If you’re worried about people with a decent to above average survivability look at condi builds, from the way people talk they tend to build a good amount of it. Just to bring us back to topic the thread is about condition damage and what should be done about it, not bunker builds. Maybe it would be if I had a lot of trouble with them, but I don’t often encounter them as I’ve said.

How wrong you are.

With specializations and HoT, bunkering has become way easier to achieve. Boon stacking, damage evasion skills all over the place, damage reduction through food and traits, much more healing available… Defensive stats are no longer crucial for bunkering, they are only worth for stats optimization.
This has helped a lot power builds, they can as dangerous as ever without being squishy.

Several professions have builds capable of being bunker with offensive stats like zerker or marauder. Berserkers, DH, tempests, scrappers or revs can do crazy bursts and heavy sustained damage while holding outnumbered fights.

Condi builds, on the other hand, have had a rougher time. Resistance, better condi cleansing across professions, bleeding damage nerf, confusion and torment burst nerfed, marauder gear…
They are still very strong though, specially some out of reason like condi chrono and stealth thief. But it’s not something power builds can’t become.

As a mesmer who played condi shatter before specializations and now power, there’s no current condi build that matches the craziness of what condi shatter achieved. The things I did with that beast… Instead, now I’m looking at power Berserker/Revs/Scrappers to search that feeling of OPness.

Did you bought a new pc that came with a fx and a 1070? Such a waste of money…

Gw2 requires single core performance and AMD cpu are crap at it. There’s little you can do, even if you overclock (which I would be very cautious as you need certain motherboard and cooling/PSU capability) you’ll experience severe deeps.

Anyway, that 8320 is already bottlenecking your 1070. The best idea is to change the cpu to Skylake or wait for Zen, you’ll see improvements everywhere. And next time inform yourself before buying pre built configurations.

  • People who manage their inventory effectively can make do with whatever space they can get.
  • People who fail to manage inventory will always run out of space, no matter how much there is.

This so much!!!

Those who still feel short with 160 slots are compulsive hoarders, so even if anet allows more space they will still feel short. There’s no need to bring more than 60-70 different items to cover all the daily needs in Gw2.
70 slots are enough for 2 full extra sets with foods, WvW blueprints, extra food, tonics, salvage kits, 2 extra sets of gathering tools, HoT map keys, boosters and more. Whoever needs more that that, it doesn’t really need it, he’s carrying it for the sake of having it. And there’s still 90 slots available which are plenty for farming.

Yea like others have said we already have the boon duration in the Chaos line, but I haven’t seen any serious builds that ran both chrono and chaos. Overall though I don’t think this is a needed change, you sound like your primary motivation is making our damage less sucky, in which case I believe that other changes would be more effective and with fewer downsides (ie requiring you to run a shield to get the bonus).

Such changes could be as simple as changing phantasms to automatically receive our buffs (or switch a trait out for one similar to Ranger in which we can trait to get them to receive our buffs automatically), or as complex as a rework of our class mechanic.

Boonshare mesmer in WvW (meta) runs both, and I’m also running them for roaming. Although Chaos is a bit useless for PvE and in PvP Inspirations gets the lead for condi cleansing, in WvW it’s widely used.

Official Feedback Thread: WvW Skirmishes

in WvW

Posted by: Ansau.7326

Ansau.7326

Those who say Skirmishes are a good thing are only speaking subjectively. But the truth is Skirmishes are technically a worse system than the previous total war score. This can be seen by analyzing some of the highlights of Skirmishes and look how badly they have transformed by lanalyzing how servers and matchups are performing:

  • “Reduce the need of 24h coverage by reducing the effects of off-hours capping ".
But the reality is stacked servers are more powerful with this new system, making global coverage more important and enhancing the population imbalance.
Moreover, nightcapping/off hours based servers are doing as good as before. In EU, servers like Baruch, Jade Sea or Desolation are doing very well compared to the previous system. I cannot see the supposed punishments on their strong off-hours capping, aside from the imbalance of strong-weak servers in matchups skirmishes introduce.
  • “Give players a real opportunity to make a comeback”.
Yet distances are similar or greater than before, but now caching up is much more difficult, because the comeback rate is now locked. How can you say Skirmishes are a real opportunity to make comebacks if they limit them and secure the win of stacked servers?
  • “Matches are often decided in the first few days, making playing in the final days feel pointless”.
There’s only 3 close matchups in both Eu and NA, with the particularity that with the older system they would still be close. But it got worse, because if before Thursday was the day on giving up, now it’s Wednesday or even Tuesday, half the week. Also, with the previous system there would be 2-3 more matches with potential catch ups of 6-8h ticking 450-500, now they need 25-30 hours winning all skirmishes and forcing the superior server to be 3rd in all of them, aka impossible mission.
  • “Updating Scoring allows us to decide a winner of a match more fairly”.
If by fairly you mean now numbers are even more important, ok… A system where strong competitors excel for being strong and encouraged to become even stronger, while weaker competitors are punished for being weaker and crippled from becoming stronger, cannot be, by definition, a fair system.

Alright, switching over to DDR4. What is the difference between all the “different” GTX 1060s ? Why are some cheaper than others?

Better cooling, more elaborated electric boards and fancy stuff like backplate, LED illumination or dual bios. Those more expensive models usually run cooler and can be overclocked farther.
But since the 1060 has such a low thermal output and Nvidia has locked Pascal overclock capability, there’s little point going for a top model. Even the cheapest single fan model will achieve +2050MHz while staying at <75ºC and being silent.

Can WvW get some profession balancing?

in WvW

Posted by: Ansau.7326

Ansau.7326

Killing a blob with a 20-25 man group now is nearly impossible. There are many reasons:

- Average pug skill has raised quite a lot. Now pretty much everyone knows the basics of combat and how to use their professions. Pug zergs are now quite organized and play with some coordination, you look how they move compared to before and it’s a completely different story.
Does anyone remember how people cried about glamour mesmer because just 5-6 stacks of confusion provoked insane massacres?

- While average pug skill has increased, average top guilds skill has decreased. Top guilds have slowly left the game and what’s left isn’t anything better than above average. Also, a lot of skilled players have left zerg fights and focused on roaming and small scale, where skill matters more because zerg fights are all about numbers.

- And numbers being more decisive is because meta changed completely, towards a more tanky boonfest combat. HoT boonfest-tanky builds, marauder gear, damage reduction and furious food, and durability runes have made pug living much more forgivable. Everything is so faceroll that the extra personal skill does very little.
Back in the old days, 3-4 hits were enough to kill you as a backline, and no melee could resist a proper bomb.

- Old days fights were more straight forward: Push, kill, reagroup and repeat. There was more space for surprising bombs and pushes that took the enemy blob more distracted and caused more deaths.
Pirateship mentality is still very present nowadays, everything is more calculated, teams temp more each other until finally one decides to push, and whenever there are some downed the rest disengage.

- Old meta promoted a more skillful playstyle, with squishier builds and more combat mobility that required more attention to what players were doing and faster reactions. Not only it helped top guilds to be better, it made it more difficult for pug players.
A lot of builds are designed to success with key smashing and make most players look better than what they really are.
In the end, as humans, we are as good as how much we are pushed.

Celestial build for WvW?

I believe staff is a pvp weapon – not a wvw weapon. It trivialises positioning in pvp maps, however in open field phase retreat isn’t so great, especially given the scary HoT builds that exist out there. Also your ability to chase is pathetic, and enemies will be able to run due to lower burst damage so you need to be able to chase and keep up pressure.

I have to disagree on this.

Staff is still a very good weapon for roaming. With perma protection, aegis and phase retreat kitting, it becomes gold against the power creep found in wvw.

In open field, Phase retreat is still very valuable, not only you can run faster (camera back+#2+camera back), it also puts mesmer as a good escape profession (PR+blink is 2100 range forward your enemies, plus having PR at just 5s CD if played well).

And damage isn’t that low (of course AA, phantasm and chaos armor need rework). In condi builds clones can be deadly. In a power build Phase Retreat+MW becomes a nice unpredictable burst, and when the phantasm hits, it hits hard.

The thing is staff is a weapon that requires some build up to shine with boon stacking and chaos armor management, contrary to other weapons that are more straight forward.

- 8 gb ddr4 +3000MHz, 50-60€
- RX 470 4gb/gtx 1060 3gb, 210-230€.

Put that cpu at 4.2-4.4GHz and welcome to the gw2 own masterrace, where only tequalt, 3 server blob fight in EB drop below 30 fps at high-ultra.

Overall price should be around 700€. If you can wait a little bit more to get the extra cash it will be totally worth it, cutting the budget would require two lower gpu tiers or eliminating the oc in the cpu.

Forget about 1070 or i7, people font count new motherboard and ddr4 required, and nonsense overkill for games like gw2, lol or csgo. You will already fap like there was no tomorrow with a 470/1060 coming from a 560ti.

Switching to DX12 wouldn’t magically unlock all of DX12’s functionalities. To take advantage of DX12 fully a game’s engine has to be constructed around DX12, simply converting to DX12 would bring little gain while at the same time resulting in years of bugs.

Anet’s had a long time to fix their engine. A long, long time.

No, they haven’t. Redoing a game engine from a game such big as Gw2 isn’t a thing that can be can done in a few months. And then you have count Gw2 is upgraded periodically, which makes pretty impossible to do both at the same time.

Also, which model of Xeon do you have?

Exactly the same thing with previous score design, except it was using higher numbers.
You think people kept fighting on thursday when they where 50K behind?

So I fail to see how this can be the worst thing about the new scoring. Especially since you didnt mention what could really be related to what you said – the inability to win even if the server scores 3 point every skirmish. At some point in the matchup and when one server is on top, it will win no matter what because 1 point on loss is guaranteed. With the previous PPT system, you could theoretically fight them to 0 PPT (which would probably also mean very high PPT for your server). But granted that was unlikely to happen when being the underdog.

Either way the system works best when points are being traded between the 3 servers. Which requires balanced server matchups. The new scoring system does exactly nothing to help with that. It’s just a new scoring system.

At least with the old system you fought until Thursday, and it allowed comebacks on Friday in more neck to neck matches by heavy pushes.

Now we have to enjoy mathematical winners in Monday/Tuesday.

Why do people zerg? zerging is a simple and effective way to play WvW, but it’s not the most fun way to do it, and certainly not the most effective.

This is wrong.

For the majority of people, zerging is enjoyable. Massive fights are a key aspect of this game mode and the reason a lot of people have been attached to WvW. People have been organized in dedicated guilds oriented to the zerg fight. And public commanders have gathered pugs in enormous blobs.
This is a game and people play for the fun. If zerging wasn’t fun, people wouldn’t play it.

Also, it is truly the most effective way, which is not the same as efficient. Yes, spreading a zerg allows you to capture more structures in less time, and you optimize better the player resources available. But at the same time, it requires much more average player skill and team work.
Zerging is still very rewarding and way easier to set up, turning it in a much higher success rate method.

Playing Gw2 and seeing cpu usage below 50% in intensive scenarios is impossible. Gw2 is a mmo and requires the cpu.
Also, newer version wouldn’t solve performance issues during heavy fights. Game engine has to be modified, far from being an easy task.

Btw, if your gpu isn’t at 100% usage is because you’re cpu bottlenecked. Either by having an overkill gpu for this game, or an insufficient cpu.

That BB with its night-only force doesn’t like the skirmishes not really surprises me

With the old system, Far Shiverpeaks would have 36% more PPT than Baruch and 44% more than Kodash. And BB would be 6% ahead of Kodash. 73000vs53700vs50800.
With the new system Far Shiverpeaks is ahead of BB by a 46% and a 65% of Kodash, with BB being 13% ahead of the germans. 38vs26vs23.

As you can see, Kodash is the most punished server, Baruch is affected a little, but not so much for what it could be, and FS is getting a free win.
Just like the system was supposed to work…

In fact, this new system helps Baruch. Before, at nights we had to hurry to recover what we lost during the morning and early afternoon. Now we can relax during nights (we still win) and don’t give a kitten during our off hours (we lose the same if we care or if we don’t).

It will only affect us in the long term. As the only server not eligible to be linked in the entire game, we are condemned to recess. Things will sustain until we reach the point this new system bullies us, like any other low tier server.

Well, after 24h I conclude the new system is rubbish.
Designed to diminish the huge PPT some servers had thanks to nightcapping and big outnumbering situations… AND it does basically the same, now it pushes stacked servers even more, and the population imbalance becomes even worse.

Skirmishes: A system designed by devs, for stacked servers with the promotion of primetime people, where offtime players and servers out of top 5-6 are now considered 2nd class.

About cpu comparison between 4690k, 6600k, 7700k… The best option is the 6600k. Even the 4690k might show similar performance, Skylake comes with improved cache that makes an edge while gaming. About the future 7700k or the 6700k, you don’t need an i7 for general gaming, less for Gw2. It is only a good value if you plan to do multithreaded work like video rendering or streaming.

Skylanke and ddr3. While it is true Skylake can support normal ddr3, its IMC isn’t designed for it, and only 1.35v ddr3 is recommended. Using 1.5v ram in the long term could damage the imc and kill the cpu.

I wouldn’t say there is no solution, because you should be getting more than 9-11fps.

The problem is you have an AMD cpu and a Nvidia gpu, both being famous for having tons and tons of issues with a specific solution for each case. Finding the true source of issues could be very tedious.

Since there might be interminable amount of possible solutions and the game has been out for many years, I suggest to search through the pages of this section for similar threads and try those fixes.
Most famous are clean install of gpu driver with DDU, try different drivers, check gpu is working at pcie x16, check power configurations, repair the client, try 32bit client, delete gw2 folders in AppData, disable reflections, shadows and character model limit to lowest…

Is GW2 Performance Limited at Source?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ansau.7326

Promps for the necroing…

About performance, it is not server side, because gw2 is client based.

And if the performance doesn’t get better is because we’re still limited by single core performance and memory bandwidth and latencies, even with skylake oced to +4.5GHz.
3/4-way sli/crossfire and tons of cores don’t even matter in this game, only single core performance. So unless you’re experiencing with a heavily oced skylake with fast ddr4, you don’t have a god tier pc for the study of the performance of Gw2.

So far, only pc’s with Haswell at +4.5GHz or Broadwell/Skylake at +4GHz can be considered as mainstream level of hardware for gw2.

Gw2 doesn’t work like most other games, pcie speed affect significally the performance, even going x16 in 3.0 gives you higher framerates.

I did tests with different pcie speeds 3.0 with my r9 285:
- x16 had 110fps underwater, 70’s in empty map, 50’s in more heavy graphic situation and 23-24 in heavy cpu situation.
-x8 had 100 fps underwater, 60’s in empty map, 46 in more heavy graphic situation and 22-23 fps in heavy cpu situation.
- x4 had 77fps underwater, 45’s in empty map, 36 in more graphic situation and 20-21 in heavy cpu situation.

what the heck where you thinking when you swap the 6300 for a 8350…

+2 cores + 1.2 Ghz on rest ?? Ehm not everybody throw thousands for I7 …. If you think about it almost no gamer will ever USE FULL I7 potential so waste of money.

On 1 GPU im geting +5 FPS still unplayable…

Why the hell im can play ANY GAME MAXED ON 4K and this crap wont run even on LOW!!!

Just overclock the 6300?? A merely i3 skylake already beats a FX 8350 while gaming, and in gw2 is destroys it.

Since you say Supersample fixes it, it is surely a thing with drivers or SLI. Blame Nvidia for the awful support in this game, not the game itself.

A FX cpu cannot be considered anymore as a high end PC. Even with that 8 core at 4.2GHz, the bottlenecking for a 970 SLI is real. Seriously, what the heck where you thinking when you swap the 6300 for a 8350…

About the source of the issues, Nvidia and SLI configurations have had a lot of issues with Gw2. Try disabling SLI and force the main gpu to work at x16 pcie speed. If you have a chipset outside 990FX each gpu is working at pcie 2.0 x8, which is a bottleneck for this game.
Also, delete Gw2 forlders in Local and Roaming from AppData in C:/User/Yourname.

Clone Death Should Return

in Mesmer

Posted by: Ansau.7326

Ansau.7326

@Fay

First, I contend that you’re wrong. Supcutie, in his shatter guide for power shatter recommends clone death traits. In fact, you helped promote Lyssa’s Grimoire which contains that guide.

The majority of shatter builds I’ve looked up contained clone death traits.

Antithetical to Phantasm builds? Totally incorrect. Dying clones crippled and bled enemies as well as setting up vulnerability which allowed the phantasm to hit like a truck.

Quite a few phantasm builds contained clone death traits. Osicat’s “Napalm Cat” which I ran in WvW is a good example.

Again, what you are saying is simply incorrect.

As to your idea that the clones and/or phants should be the primary target; They never will be, since killing the Mesmer also destroys the illusions. There’s no reason whatever to focus the illusions.

(There is also very little hope of fooling an experienced player with clones except momentarily)

There might be, if the illusions did enough damage to be a serious threat. That’s not the case though and hasn’t been since the removal of clone death traits.

I don’t know which shatter builds have you looked, but the traditional shatter build(20/20/0/0/30 or 4/4/0/0/6) didn’t have any clone death trait. I don’t even know why are you referring the Lyssa’s Grimoire guide when its shatter build is the traditional one.

Clone Death traits were only taken seriously when the condi PU became famous (since late 2013). They were purposely used only in condi builds, and taken in lockdown builds and variations of others as a subproduct of a choice of a more important trait, like Harmonious Mantras, PU or Chaotic Interruption.

Just to show how wrong you are, Napalm Cat was neither a phantasm or a power shatter build. It was a variation of the traditional condi build, which already took clone death traits in mind as a big part of the build.

Upgrading your graphics card won’t really help your FPS for this game. FPS in GW2 is linked to CPU performance, and if you want better FPS I suggest upgrading to the new intel skylake processors. I’m currently running a pentium g4400 with a radeon 6850 and I manage to get 25-40 fps in LA on ultra settings and 60-80+ in dungeons and other less populated areas.

You also have the option to overclock, which would certainly improve performance but it comes at the risk of frying your chip if done poorly so I don’t recommend it.

People with Broadwells and skylakes are having more than enough performance.

Sorry, it is not about bad optimization, but bad single core performance and high latency cache, just like your FX.
