The NA side shouldn’t take too long to adjust. Next week, the 10 strongest servers (SoS/JQ/BG/SoR/TC/CD/FA/DB/Mag/Kaineng ….listed by current ranking) will take up the top 11 spots. SBI which might still be in T2 but should be in T7/T8 will take some time to go down. IoJ will be in T5 next week when they should be in T8 so not a long trip down. While it’s unfortunate that SBI and IoJ had an exodus as they are both respectable servers, the long term stability of WvW required paid transfers to come.

You first challenge will be next week. Mag will be t3, but a t3 server will be dropped to t4, and they’re all good. I hope FA drops because I think their daytime people would be the perfect ones to test kain’s NA. If Kain can hold up daytime versus FA I would be very surprised.

We would love to fight Kaineng, but not in T4. We intend to stay in T3 and are pushing for a victory there. Too early to know which server will be dropped. I think it will be DB unless both FA and DB can pull ahead of CD enough to drop them. T4 will be Kaineng’s first match against another superserver. Unfortunately, there won’t be an equal third server for stability. YB was very strong in their prime, but even then they didn’t have the population or coverage to match what some of our servers have become. Because of this, T4 will probably be a blowout.

Last time we went against Mag and DB was in T5 where we won by a huge margin (last week of orbs). DB now isn’t recognizable from an NA standpoint. I remember logging in to a red map with no DB in them. Mag made attempts to paint the red maps blue before FA came in and turned it green. Spent the whole week fighting Mag. DB was like a mythical creature that was rarely seen. Our Oceanics remember the DB guilds though lol.

It will be interesting to fight the new Mag. We love their original population. We easily outnumbered them, but they fought hard.

Score was just updated. I like how the site now has bar graphs and pie charts with colors for those who can’t figure out numbers.

Implementing paid transfers without announcing it ahead of time would have been a terrible idea. There is a reason they waited to get guesting up before doing paid transfers. They want players to be able to play with their friends on other servers and without guesting, the only way to do that is to transfer. It wouldn’t have been fair to implement paid transfers given that guesting was supposed to be there from the start. So now they are giving players time to go back to the server they intend to stay on.

I know some of you want to see fairweathers punished, but they’re probably on a winning server anyway so they wouldn’t be punished. The only people that would get screwed over would be those using free transfers in the way Anet intended.

The server was already in a downward spiral prior to the announcement of paid transfers. The guilds that were still around had been loyal to the server through its ups and downs, but as soon as the first few big guilds left, it forced the rest of the guilds to consider moving. Those guilds went to FA because they liked us as opponents and we have a similar culture. They came as a group because they still wanted to play with one another.

I’m sure some still in IoJ may have a negative opinion about all those who left, but those guilds who had been in IoJ for so long and left in the past few days are definitely not bandwagoners. Especially those who went to FA since we haven’t won a match for the past 9 weeks and we aren’t ahead in the current match (there’s still time for us to win of course).

Pre-exodus IoJ would have made this match more interesting and could have possibly won. One of the best opponents FA ever had (Mag being the other of course!). Can’t say I’m upset that many of them transferred over to FA though. Good luck to whoever stayed. HoD finally managed a victory last week in T7 so maybe IoJ will find a tier where it will be competitive.

T3 is very close right now and it is not certain who will drop to this tier when Mag moves up. I’d of course like for FA to get a rematch with Mag. The server that drops gets to be the first superserver that Kaineng will have to deal with. I imagine the match thread will be amazing. If FA is the one that drops, it will be unfortunate that our rematch with YB won’t be as fun as I thought many weeks ago.

In the past 10 weeks, CD got a lot of transfers from when they were winning in T4 and then again in T3. We finally got some and now we got to stop so CD can get more. lol

FA didn’t seek help from IoJ. Our recruitment thread was directed at anyone who may want to be a part of our community. The IoJ guilds chose FA themselves when they decided to pick a new home.

I won’t speak of the other two as they are our current rivals, but I definitely see FA as a server with potential. We recently got many transfers from IoJ because they respected our server as opponents. The FA guilds prior to the transfers earned the server a spot in T3 for 10 weeks in a row despite being outnumbered. Our new transfers are also battle-hardened having fought in the top tiers for so long. FA was mostly NA while our transfers are mostly Oceanic so our coverage has greatly improved. As mentioned earlier, server morale is very high as we are enjoying our new friends.

Thanks. The morale on our server is high right now (both old FA and IoJ transfers). It’s been a lot of fun this evening watching the former IoJ guilds do their thing. Best of luck to you whether you stay on IoJ or move to a new home.

I’ve been impressed by how CD performs at reset. FA has done poorly at reset for the past 8 or 9 weeks despite having the population to do well.

I would have bet on pre-exodus IoJ to win T4, but now Mag has a serious shot of winning (even if they don’t care lol). It will be a blowout depending on whether Mag or YB has the better off peak coverage. Week after that will be Mag/YB/Kaineng. Grab the popcorn.

Perhaps. I won’t judge the first batch of people who left, but it doesn’t matter as the transfers FA is getting is the guilds that saw major guilds leave and realized IoJ isn’t going to be the same. I read through their forum (don’t ask how I managed to see the private forums lol) and the guilds we are getting had no intention to leave prior to the start of the exodus. It would be silly to call these people fairweathers as they’ve been on IoJ since the start.

It makes sense for those remaining IoJ guilds to come to FA. We have a similar culture and they improve our coverage since most are Oceanics and FA has been relatively stronger during NA primetime. They came as a group because they still care about the people they played with.

I think the score imbalance has a lot to do with the fact that there is no longer a third server. FA and CD are just fighting each other right now and the WvW wasn’t designed around that. That became obvious during those weeks when ET and HoD were coming down. We got some transfers for NA primetime, but FA was always a major force at this time.

And as KaryKarwook mentioned, our victories at CDBL has nothing to do with transfers. It was RET and HOPE there as well as a 5 man GODS squad (guess who was in that squad lol).

Just got done playing for the night. FA had has as much as 460 points and had a queue on all maps.

Oh my! The difference in rating between BP and DR is one point. Currently, DR is projected to drop instead of BP.

I’ve seen many players complaining about server recruitment in this forum so I’d like to address that.

FA is not a bandwagon server trying to recruit even more people. This is our 9th week in T3 and we have not come in 1st place during any of those weeks. Our fairweathers have long gone and we have lost some guilds throughout our stay in this tier. We are still here fighting because we love this level of competition and it would be a shame if we dropped. T1/T2 isn’t even being discussed. We just want to become more competitive in this tier which won’t be possible if we don’t recruit to get our population back in line with our opponents.

Which big FA guilds left since yesterday? I heard HAWK is taking a break from GW2, but that is unrelated to the announcement.

I do know many IoJ guilds are leaving, but I’m not sure that is related to the announcement either.

FA was blue in all three weeks of TC/FA/YB.

Brings back memories. We were the red server of T3 when we fought BG and DB. We got knocked down hard and became the red server of T4 against SoS and Mag. We won by a landslide (yep FA defeated SoS!!! that was the week they were getting transfers) and came back up to T3 as the red server again against BG and TC. When both us and TC got knocked to T4, we were blue. Everyone was so confused and disoriented especially in EB. Many players assumed that we were always supposed to be the red server.

FA has been in T3 for 9 weeks! And next week looks like it could be our 10th.

What is great about FA is the dedication our WvW guilds have. They will come out to play despite the odds. Anybody looking for a serious WvW community should definitely consider FA. Our coverage is pretty decent. We are not asking guilds to come and take on the burden of carrying the server. We are asking them to come and help strengthen it. While we could use more numbers across all timezones, you won’t have to worry about being the only guild on at the time. There will definitely be enough people for you to play with.

Just got done playing for today. IoJ was not doing very well. They did not own a keep or tower in their own borderland. FA is almost 9k ahead of them now. As I got off, FA owned Bay, Garrison, and both of the north towers in IoJ BL, but it seems like CD will attempt to take the map soon.

Two of FA, IoJ, and DB will be in T3 next week and the remaining one will be in T4. Right now, any combination is possible.

Less than one point separates the three servers.

There is one problem though. The current rating section is wrong. They used to update those whenever Anet released the actual ratings, but it seems they haven’t done that this time. So the projected ratings, even if the scores were as up-to-date as possible, would still be inaccurate.

It would be FA/Mag/YB. Mag is set to come up to T4 and they have new transfers too. In a Mag vs Kaineng fight, I’d definitely bet on Mag. They are putting out similar scores against tougher competition. I don’t think FA/Mag/YB will be an interesting fight though. All are NA servers and the match will be decided by off peak. Whoever has the advantage there will upgrade everything and the other two will stop showing up as much during NA primetime.

Honestly, I’d rather stay here. When YB dropped, I thought they would blowout Mag and EB while getting their fairweathers to come out to play as well as gain some transfers too. Then they’d bounce back to T3 and possibly outscore FA. This did not happen. They won comfortably at first, but now they are weaker than they were when they left this tier.

The fact that we can hang in there with IoJ shows we still deserve to be in this tier.

While I like DB, IoJ has been a great opponent and I don’t want to see them go away. That said, we are close in rating to the two of them so if IoJ overtakes us and DB overtakes us….

… I don’t want to lose us to T4 either!
