Score/map update.

Many WvWers follow http://mos.millenium.org/matchups to see what the scores are while they aren’t playing. That website provides a lot of nice information and graphs. It’s really great that players have taken the time to maintain the site and submit information to it, but because it relies on people to update the scores, information can be outdated or inaccurate.

It would be better if there was an official page that has current scores and potential points. Then a site like the one I mentioned could simply read the information from the official page instead of needing players to submit scores. I imagine it would be easy for Anet to set up such a page since it only has to report the scores that are already on their servers.

Anyway, I checked the stats and it looks like Tier 7’s competitive nature will end with the current match. Eredon Terrace and Borlis Pass will be trading places. That’s really too bad.

I don’t think ET will settle in the 7th bracket. When we played them last week, they had a solid 30-40 man group a few nights of the week, but couldn’t sustain anything for more than a couple hours.

ET won’t settle there, but when they drop to Tier 8, one of those servers comes up. HoD will also be dropping to T7 at some point as well. What made that tier special was the three servers in it. This is their fifth week together now but HoD/ET had already been dropping since that first week so it was doomed from the start.

Maybe T7 will be competitive when the rankings stabilize, but I don’t think we can predict that. T3 looks like it will be competitive for some time. The top six servers don’t look like they will drop and the only server that can come up is CD which is competitive in T3 anyway. It’s really a great place to be right now if you’re looking for even matches.

I imagine performance issues would be the reason they wouldn’t implement it in WvW.

Tiers 3 and 7 for NA have the closest competition in all WvW. I don’t know about T7 since Fort Aspenwood has never been there, but T3 is intense. Unlike T7, T3 looks like it will be competitive in the foreseeable future. Both tiers will see a rematch between the current servers on Friday, but a couple of weeks from now, HoD/ET will drop to T7 and upset the balance. I would recommend coming to T3 if you want a close match.

Fort Aspenwood has many WvW guilds that you can join. I will of course recommend the one I’m in. Tarnished Coast is an RP server so if that’s your thing, definitely go there. Yak’s Bend would also be a good choice.

When was the last time they even talked about it? I’m guessing they gave up on the idea.

I wouldn’t be in GODS if we didn’t accomplish things and just waste time. We’re highly coordinated and it looks like haters be hating.

Edit: The posts I was responding to have been deleted. So let’s keep FA guilds on the same side instead of attacking one another. Our real enemies are wearing red and green.

I know another big SF guild left their server for CD so it doesn’t surprise me that more areleaving. From what I heard, the server is falling apart. New people are welcome on FA of course, but I am wondering why OBEY chose FA. Anyone from the guild reading this thread?

I’m curious what an FA vs CD fight would look like since we haven’t fought in a one week match. This match is almost perfect though so it’s great if it continues.

It’s likely we will have a rematch with the same colors too.

All GODS members are required to have Raidcall. Every member is allowed to speak (except when the commanders are giving instructions). Since we have the numbers, our commanders are able to rely on guild members to get things done like building siege. So what happens is the commanders would rather speak on Raidcall instead of typing on the chat except when the need arises. It’s just easier that way. I imagine commanders in smaller guilds don’t have that luxury. That said, non-members following us around can still be very useful. I imagine a lot of people who followed us around eventually joined the guild.

JQ will most likely be the red server next week.

The good thing about Fort Aspenwood if you choose it is that we have a strong NA crew that could still use a little more people in a Tier 3 fight. Joining us means you don’t have to carry the entire server, but your help will still be appreciated. The addition of a new NA WvW guild won’t upset the balance of Tier 3 either. You could also join Yak’s Bend if you like. Tarnished Coast as well, but keep in mind that they are the RP server. It may not be your thing.

The most recent scores project that not only will you guys stay in T3, your server is increasing its rating by a higher number than CD is increasing theirs. None of our servers should really be in T4 anyway.

http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA just updated some scores and while it’s still very early, it looks like there is a chance that the next match in this tier might be HoD/SF/ET. That would be interesting. I think it’s more likely that ET and BP swap places though.

Score update? Is ET beating SF? The posts here make it seem like SF just died, lol.

The score is a bit shocking. I’ve heard CD wasn’t as strong during NA primetime relative to other servers, but it still blows my mind to see Mag winning at this time when EBay was beating them easily last week after the reset. I still expect CD to win the match though. The more interesting question is if Mag beats DH. Their last match was a close one and I imagine things may have changed for the two servers since then. My prediction is CD > Mag > DH.

Btw, this is one of the few match threads that survived since reset that did not get a warning from the moderators or got closed.

Less than 30 minutes left of this match. Looks like this match is the biggest blowout since the orbs were removed. The bottom tier match for the EU servers last week takes a close second.

There were some fun moments still. Thanks for all the DH and HoD players who came out to play despite the odds. Hopefully all servers will have better matches. FA probably will since we’re up against TC and Yaks. CD will probably be a big winner but Mag and DH should be close. HoD may still need a couple of weeks, but good luck against EBay and DB.

You can’t report in WvW or you still can but you don’t see their names?

GODS also has some Oceanic players, but PRO is a great guild as well.

I’m more interested in the rank shake-ups. Eredon Terrace and Henge of Denravi have fallen like bricks. I wouldn’t doubt the next match-up being between ET, SF, NSP.

Friday will be NPS/SF/ET the following week will most likely be SF/NSP/HoD and after that either SF or NSP will be moving up a tier.

The two servers can’t both be in the match with ET and then in the match with HoD. When HoD drops down to your tier, one of you has to go up to fill the void. Similarly, when ET drops to the tier below you, one of the servers there will come up.

Im on Gandara, and we have no night crew in this EU server, yet i keep on waiting for some miracle that some US ppl would move to our server because we will never go up on ranking like this. The rank itself its not what bothers me, its the deception of knowing that soon other server will just zerg everything we buit and upgraded without having any problems to get it and that took us so much time to build.
Matches like this are not fun, we keep on fighting for nothing anymore when we so far away from 2nd place, but our numbers ofc decrease alot.
I would do the same as this guild and move to an US server, but here is the problem, will the guilds that face FA has a night crew that u will have good matchups? or u will just zerg and night cap too? cause if that is so, no fun too i think.
And i would choose a lower rank server, FA is atm top 10, so i would assume they are not that bad in night crew. While u have 150 members, a lower ranked server would need u more and benefit more from a night crew.
So, makes me kinda sad, if i imagine any US server that would like to go to a EU server to have better matchups would prefer to go to Desolation, Blacktide, Seafarers Rest or Far Shiverpeaks, so my server would never be chosen cause its not top 10.
So in my opinion, the server ur leaving will miss ur presence and the server ur joining u will be just few numbers more. And that will make no big difference.

Also, im sry but isnt very polite to discuss gramatic and english when ppl are trying to expose their ideas, and thats nothing to do with what is the issue here.

Your assumptions about FA are not correct. We have some good people on at night and morning (which is when EU primetime is from our perspective), but WvW is primarily a numbers game and with that in mind, we are terrible outside of primetime. We will have the map taken from us by lower tier servers like Dragonband. The only reason we are able to not sink to lower tiers is because our primetime crew beats theirs. It isn’t fun only participating in blowout matches one way or the other so we needed to recruit to be competitive with Tier 3 servers that we can compete in primetime but not off-peak. We very much appreciate our new transfers.

Vagrant, it was actually Dragonbrand in our last fight. HoD was there for your fight with CD last week. But the point still stands, DB didn’t help us very much by being the third server.

This Friday, it will be TC/FA/YB as the stats currently stand, and I look forward to seeing how the substitution of CD for FA alters the dynamic.

This will definitely be interesting to see. I think it’s a given that NA primetime will be closer than what it is now. The big question is off-peak. Last week we were up against Yaks. After reset when primetime ended, FA was up by 900. In typical FA fashion, we collapsed overnight. Yaks was up by 110k Tuesday morning. The match ended with them 44k ahead of us. FA dominated Tuesday morning until reset and a lot of our progress was during off-peak. FA was trying to get recruits from other time zones at the time. One EU guild decided to move to FA and was trying to get others to join. There were many rumors about how many transfers we were getting. Yaks players during off-peak claimed they were seeing more FA players. Strangely, FA players were not seeing new people and said they saw less Yaks players. After the start of the current match, some players investigated and found that a lot of the transfer rumors were false. There were only a couple of guilds transferring and maybe a Japanese guild too. The original EU guild that said they were transferring had only just finished transferring after the reset.

Maybe FA really did get more off-peak transfers than we think we did. There were probably a lot of individuals who transferred due to a bandwagon effect and we just didn’t notice them because we were looking for guilds. But I also think a lot of Yaks players stopped showing up over the week for whatever reason. I hope we really did get a lot of transfers so we can be competitive against TC and not get dominated again, but I’m really not sure. We are destroying Darkhaven in off-peak even though Yaks told us DH had some decent coverage at that time, but comparing common opponents (Maguuma and Dragonbrand) it looks like the FA of two matches ago would still have won easily.

GODS and ULTD just took DH’s garrison. Was an awesome fight.

The site is weird. If you scroll to the bottom that gives a list of the current scores and income with the times they were taken, that is definitely CET. The graphs start at 8pm for me and not 5pm or 1am. I guess it adjusts based on where the user accesses the site from. But the matches no longer start 8pm/5pm EST/PST. They are an hour earlier now because of DST adjustment. Why does telling time have to be so difficult lol.

When I suspect an opponent is corpse scouting, I jump on them hoping their loss of dignity causes them to respawn. Never works.

I use that site a lot and it seems the time they use is CET. It is a French site after all. So they are 6 hours ahead EST. Maguuma started to lead in potential points at 6am EST which is still not night capping meaning Ehmry led at night. That said, I doubt many North Americans woke up at 6am to play GW2. Most likely candidates are the Europeans. Does Maguuma have any European guilds?

Ehmry is going to be shocked by Dragonbrand. Their comebacks due to dominating off peak hours have been amazing.

I can’t stop laughing looking at this. We really thought we were hidden.

Our original plan for the evening was to go into DH BL, take everything, then go into EB. So we went in and took everything as expected. But then there was a queue for EB so we did the jumping puzzle in DH BL. Afterward we went to the north supply camp since it was red and some of your pugs kept coming out of the spawn area so we fought them and the rest that kept coming out. At that point your people stopped coming out and instead attacked from the cliffs where they still had the invulnerability buff so we went into that little shack seen in the pic (hey we thought we were hidden lol!!!) so you guys would come out and we could fight again. After we went to take back a tower. By the time we came back to get the north supply camp again, half of our guys made it to EB and throughout the battle against Littlefeather’s guild, a lot of our people remaining got the prompt to go to EB. So you basically drove away the 10 people that hadn’t made it to EB yet lol.

I don’t know why anyone would be mad over that event. It was more funny than anything.

He’s a Darkhaven player and his server is currently losing in the biggest landslide out of all the matches (both NA and EU). It’s understandable he’s upset since the match isn’t fun, but punishing the winning server won’t solve the problem. Henge of Denravi is also in the match so there isn’t much resistance to Fort Aspenwood. Nothing we can really do about that. We’re also upset that there isn’t much to do this week. I’m using the opportunity to do some WvW map completion for my alts, but I’d much rather be involved in a back and forth battle. There was a lot of that in EB tonight. The queue was long though and by the time I got there, I was tired so I played for maybe 30 min.

Yeah, next week will be great. Tier 3 looks awesome now that the T1/T2 servers are in the correct tiers and HoD/ET are no longer in this tier. Only tier that is closer is Tier 7 which will be disrupted when HoD/ET arrive.

TC staying is a given and I’m not sure if I rather have a rematch with Yaks or fight CD for the first time (not counting the 24 hour matches). I wonder which potential trio would be more exciting. Too bad for whoever drops though. Tier 4 is in a mess. There is a sizable gap in server strength between our four servers and the next best ones (DH and Maguuma). Even without HoD, there will probably be a blowout.

Still very early of course, but it looks like we will get another shot at that tier. Yak’s Bend is the likely server to drop.

This match was expected to be a blowout. HoD is still dropping down the tiers and DH edged out Maguuma and DB in their last match while FA beat the same two servers by a wide margin two matches ago.

I haven’t fought anyone yet as I only logged in to see the score. That said, I’m sure DH and HoD players are giving FA players some tough battles and making things fun despite the overall score. HoD is putting up a good score considering. Maybe a tier or two down is where they belong rather than dropping all the way to fight Ferguson’s Crossing.

^Did you calculate that for FA winning or FA maintaining a higher rating. The latter determines who goes up a tier and may be easier to obtain for FA. Yaks is ahead 51-52k in score, but 19 ahead in the projected rating. Both are improbable for FA at this point regardless.

Just remember that neither UTC nor Arizona observe DST. So Arizona (except for the parts of the Navajo Nation that do observe DST), will always be UTC -7 hours. Reset is 12am UTC.
