I suppose, in your mind, it’s not even remotely possible that some of those future, Living Story updates turned into expansion material?

I think that this expansion taking all their time, with tiny ‘festivals’ of no real content, pretty much answers your question, don’t you?

Kind of strange, given most of the combat was on the ground. But people complained, loudly, and you know what happened next. . . .

Which, ironically, flies in the face of those who theorized that ANet was ‘secretly’ working on an expansion the entire two years. That secret project nonsense.

Given the short, clipped nature of Season 2, and now with what’s happening, it’s pretty clear what really occurred and is occurring.

No doubt, ANet is working fast and hard to get the expansion out. But, in the meantime, we’re twiddling our thumbs waiting. And apparently having our peers tell us to play something else.

Which, I’m guessing, isn’t what ArenaNet wants.

The plus side is we know the updates will return after the expansion is released. So, even more content with Living Story afterwards. But, unfortunately, we’re in a circle and wait mode because the next ‘story’ update is Heart of Thorns.

Everything, right now, is more or less on pause until then.

only hammer, mace, and axe offhand (there are more uses of axe as a ranged weapon in GW2 than as a melee weapon) are truly confirmed. sword is a given, based on trailer, staff is speculated, and dagger is “i think i saw that guy off screen using one”.

and even if all of those weapons were melee, most professions have 2 or 3 ranged options.

but whatever, decide ahead of time that it’s a melee focused profession (because GW2 doesn’t already have that)

Is there a reason you’re getting so bent out of shape about my answer? You asked a question, and I gave you my response. Also, the LiveStream videos showed all melee combat in some, way, shape or form.

What does it matter to you if I do or don’t play the new class? I did decide ahead of time, based on the evidence presented from various sources.

The answer depends on how the community is policed. You can believe me when I tell you the community, in its early days, was not as nice as it is now.

A lot of our ‘special players’ have either left or got banned.

I could tell you a tale or two about some interesting debates in Queensdale when the champion train ran.

You know, it’s horrible for me to repeat, but us ‘Living Story Lovers’ warned about this very thing. No content, real content, between expansions.

Yet, the expansion crowd didn’t care. They wanted it all at once as opposed to piecemeal via the updates.

Now, here we are. Bored out of our minds and happy for the little bits (Lunar Festival) we get.

ArenaNet really can’t win.

Personally, I enjoyed the merchant. Made plenty of gold and earned a ton of luck to boot. Wish there was more involvement as far as achievements, but something was better than nothing.

But, yes, it could’ve been better.

And no mini-dragon for us was terrible.

Oh. I don’t know. The fact the weapon choices are mace, sword, axe, hammer, dagger, and staff kinda send me a clue.

The videos of the revenant in melee combat kinda helped too.

Hehe.

Given the other, more recent thread, was trashed, it’s pretty clear they’re seeing all these threads about the mini-dragon. But it’s also becoming crystal clear what the answer is too.

Two your point doesn’t make any sense that’s like saying playing engi is just a kittening version of halo no thank you. Especially when you don’t list positives and negitives of both systems.

I’ll make it crystal clear. I liked all the Sims games up to #4 which is trash. So your assumption is incorrect.

The point is if I want to play something like the Sims, I’ll play the Sims. If I want to play something like Guild Wars 2, I’ll play Guild Wars 2. I’m not interested in playing the Sims in Guild Wars 2 . . . which is what is basically being asked.

That said, I don’t need you or anyone else telling when or where to reply. If you don’t like my responses, feel free to ignore them.
