Thank you, Gaile. She has done so. Sure enough, she got hacked and has asked for a rollback. We’re adding authenticators to everyone’s account now. I’ll talk to her about getting a new email account as well.
Again, thank you.
Thank you both. It’s a brand, spanking new computer. But you never know. Yeah, I guessed since there was an authenticator now, they finally got through.
Man, they were relentless. Everyday for almost two weeks straight. She’d change her password to the wildest things imaginable . . . and they still got through.
Thanks again. +1s for both of you.
Can I please get someone to contact the following account: selannii.9230
The email or contact information is still the same. Again, the account isn’t compromised, but the hacker or hackers have added an authenticator. This is preventing the actual owner from accessing the account now.
Thank you.

Within the last few weeks, hackers from China (according to the IPS address and city name) have been attempting to gain access to my wife’s account.
Unsuccessful so far, but they keep resetting the password.
Apparently, now, they’ve added an authenticator which now denies my wife access to the account.
What can be done? Is there any way to stop these people from attempting to access her account?
Thank you.
I couldn’t imagine life without them. Definitely worth it and then some.
Edit: Yeesh. I blame the beer.

Blade Shards - Where to hand them in?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Ardenwolfe.8590
Has to be something for crafting. The nodes for clockworks in your home instant will sometimes still give you shards. So, if I had to guess, recipes in the future.
Hope they become trade-able soon.
They’re dying to the HotM mobs faster because those mobs were buffed like crazy.
Not sure about this whole “pets die too easily in 1v1” stuff. The ones I’ve faced seem really sturdy, and every time I tried to focus them, the ranger bursts me down. Perhaps it’s a player issue, like you aren’t spec’ing properly?
This is a reasonable question. So, let me tell you, my spec is exactly the same as it was prior to the patch. Beforehand, my pet and I could tank against PvP mobs, specifically the champions and NPCs in the Mist’s Rest Area, and end the fight full of life.
Now, I’m lucky to keep even a devourer alive.
Again, not sure if its a buff to the NPCs, a debuffs to the pets, or a combination of both.
Regardless, it needs to be addressed.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
April 15th patch dropped. Rangers pets were bugged. They were doing massive damage 7-12k auto attacks and were also squishy, they could be 1 shotted by simple aoe. Well, 1 day later Anet patched the 12k auto attacks, but never fixed the toughness of the pets.
8 days later our pets are dying to enemies in 1vs1 situations. Please investigate.
Forgot to mention: I’ve been playing since beta. Ranger is my main and this bug alone is driving me away from this game.
Seems this is the issue. Not 100% certain if it affects the pet in PvE, or if its an increase in the PvP damage from NPCs, or a combination of both, but it still needs to be addressed.
I don’t RP. But, I do choose an RP server because the maturity level tends to be better. One of the fears I felt about the mega servers was the influx of trolls or generally idiotic behavior would help kill the community.
Well, after some of the behavior I saw tonight, I have to say that fear came true.
One can call that elitist if they’d like. But, I call it being respectful. And again, generally speaking, the RP communities tend toward this.
It’s like the intellect and maturity fell off a cliff with the new patch.
Confirmed. The champions in the PvP rest areas are now slaughtering the pets like never before.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Pets-taking-too-much-damage-after-patch
Not so sure about PvE, but the pets are definitely getting slaughtered in PvP.
I’m beastmaster spec, and I can confirm the pets are taking A LOT more damage. Used to be, I could solo the champs in the Mists rest area no problem.
Now, even my devourers are melting like nothing.
It needs to be addressed ASAP.
As you mentioned, go beastmaster first. Maximize it. Use the jungle stalker cat. Make sure you get the trait in nature, Fortifying Bond, that gives any buff you have to the pet as well. Also make sure to take Master’s Bond as well. This will also increase the deadliness of your pet over time and should not be underestimated in a Beast-build.
Whenever you use the jungle cat’s mighty roar, stand close. The cat gets five might, and so do you. But, because it stacks, the cat will get ten might instead.
If you’re solely interest in the cat’s damage, use sigils that increase might. This is more beneficial than increased bleed condition or duration, traited or otherwise, because burst damage tops DoTs in the long term. The additional benefit is that might also increases DoT damage, specifically bleeds, as well.
It’s a small benefit, but take Companion’s Might to increase might even more. Add Concentration Training. This makes the cat’s Mighty Roar benefit last longer. And, it appears to affect the duration for Companion’s Might. Just make sure you only cast Mighty Roar in combat.
Otherwise, the benefits from duration will not apply.
Hope this answer helped.

This would be funny if it wasn’t so freakin’ telling.
This depends on your setup and if you’re with a group or soloing.
For soloing, the devourers are no joke. They kill slower than other pets, but can take a beating like no one else. If you’re traited and equipped for healing, the possibility of the pet dying goes pretty much out the window.
For speed, the cats do the job. Just remember, they cannot take a beating like a devourer, so you may have to switch cats before one dies.
I recommend you test both, and other pets, in the PvP rest area where the two boss champions are. I can solo both, no problems or chance of dying. But, again, the devourers shine brightest against champions and world bosses.
For veterans and generic mobs, the cats are the way to go.
Hope this answer helps.

More. As someone else said, now I have to get all those skins and dyes now. As far as the train being dead . . . seemed as alive as ever on my server. This includes the complaints about people “sniping” champions.
Now, Meatchop has even more fans with the new people on our server.
Tested them all, and found all of them to be very underwhelming. Stuck with my old spec. No changes.
On that note, I was hoping ‘instant’ F2 casting was . . . well . . . instant. But, it still requires the animation of the pet. In some cases, like with Mighty Roar, that’s still too long in a pinch.
Here’s to hoping for real improvements.
Agreed. They should bring this back.

“Yap, yap, yap. Kiss Kasmeer some more. Let no tongue go unturned!”
Seriously, just make them tradeable.
I dunno. I still want dyes to drop as loot. Kind of like getting a lottery ticket and hoping for a super rare.
I’ll miss that.

Called it weeks earlier. But we were told, by someone here, we were complaining to be complaining.
It’s the biggest reason I farmed Aetherblades like mad the last week. But, on the plus side, you can still get them from the home node if you did enough events from a previous patch.
Just one or two, if you’re lucky.
Edit: Yes, I agree there should be some kind of announcement. In game when you log in or something. The only real reason we know about this is because someone was smart enough to ask the question the week prior.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
Aw. I always liked that conversation. Poor kid.
Thank you. I didn’t get to see it either, and I watched it on YouTube. Again, thank you for the update.
Well, to be honest, when I saw that pile of plunder . . . I did try to get a closer look. . . .

I must admit, despite the negativity we see on the boards, ANet is definitely doing something right. Didn’t think I was that attached to Lion’s Arch . . . until I wandered the ruins.
Very sad, yet moving.
Agreed. Despite everything, it was quite moving, and sad, to see the city in such a state.
This would be a perfect time to change LA to be a player/guild housing zone in addition to other services!
Let us buy spots from that ruined city and rebuild it that way:)
Oooh. That’s a GREAT idea!
It’ll be rebuilt just in time for the next Halloween Event.

I can’t decide if the comments about the ‘other’ games are real, sarcasm, or wishful thinking. Regardless, Guild Wars 2 will be fine.

You know, I hate to be so negative, but it sure would be nice if ANet released these things without having to use workarounds because of bugs.
It’s an interesting idea, but man . . . does everything have to be so frustrating lately?

Agreed with the OP. The first week, we had to suffer bugs. The next week, we had to suffer fools. While I like a challenge too, one that depends on others to have their kitten together isn’t my cup of tea.
Especially given that some of our peers refuse to apply common sense.
Again, the zerg can only get you so far.
In all likelihood . . . yes. Epilogue is supposed to come out today. I’ll guess around the time the dailies reset.

However with their confession that the LS was written in two days by two people locked in a room together I may just need to face the fact of the matter that yes indeed alot of what has happened wasn’t really planned. Just things they tacked on as they went.
Wait. Seriously? Do you have link to this confession?
This is almost as good as the person who dragged the Aetherblade Cannoneer to the Green Knight’s spawn so we had to deal with both at the same time.
We had someone do that on our server too. I wondered if it was on purpose. Apparently, it was….
Sadly, I think you’ll have to chalk that one up to trolling or general stupidity.
Oh . . . my. Is it wrong for me to wonder about that upcoming kissing scene?
People just love to complain just for the sake of complaining.
They are not obligated to tell people the future of an item.
No, it’s foolishness. Deleting an item when its future is unknown is pretty much how I’d define foolishness in this context.Sounds like someone is upset that an opinion disagrees with theirs.
Please reread those three lines above, and know, without any doubt, cherry-picking apart my response, which simply asks for a little more communication so players will be less frustrated, made you look more than a little short-sighted.
And ANet seems to disagree with you since they’re updating their information about these updates. Much like the second one provided here. So, hopefully, with more responses, they’ll hear less “complaining” or words to that effect.
On that note, you complaining about my response, and then saying what you did, in that first line, is the height of irony.
Honestly? People rather play the game and have fun. And when that happens, few complain. But, after a week of bugs, no loot, and other missteps, people are not “complaining for the sake of complaining” . . . there’s apparently some problems. And, with the many, many patches . . . the proof is in the pudding. If you can’t see that, there’s no need for me to point out the forest from the proverbial trees.
It’s not a “opinion”, this is fact. And if all the events from the prior week didn’t tell you that, there’s another saying you should look into.
It involves blinders.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
That thread was not the problem. The problem was that many of us were killing knights and getting no loot. That’s zip, zeo, nada loot. That’s why they made the changes. Didn’t you see all the threads that complained about no loot? In fact, we even complained in the thread that claimed there was too much loot. For the life of me, I don’t understand why you singled that thread out when there were at least a dozen that made the exact opposite claim.
You’re aware that the “no loot bug” occurred after, right? Some speculation that the bug was intended until the fix. But, that’s pure speculation.
I’ve seen ‘too much’ advice taken from the forums honestly. People complain about this and that so they change it or add it and then those people complain about the opposite. Anet is probably best off just sticking to their vision. They are the artists after all.
Pretty much. I blame that “The Knights Drop too Much Loot” thread nonsense for this entire mess. God forbid, players get good loot for doing the events. Now, instead, everyone gets frustrated and complains on the forums.
Win.
Have to say, after reading some of the more “insightful” threads, I wouldn’t respond either.
well… at least we now know who isn’t contributing as players.
good day to you sirs….I hope someday you change you mind and acknowledge how the game mechanics work. Who knows, maybe I’ll even revive you in an overflow.
Wow. Well, call me selfish, but your posts made me even less likely to rez anyone. But, lucky for me, I tend not to die in PvE.
Selfish . . . pot meet kettle.
Good idea. They should add him. Call the mini, “Peter the Found.”
Lately, I’ve been making mad money farming Aetherblades near the entrance. Around 2-3 gold per hour. More if a rare or unique drops. Remember to sell badges to the vendors. At the time, I was making good turnaround money on the spore samples, but I think others clued in as well.
Depending on your level, people farm the train in Queensdale too . . . if all goes smoothly.
Micro-chests in the various zone can also help make gold. Some of the easier jumping puzzles as well. Finally zone bosses, like Shadow Behemoth, can net some gold if you’re lucky to land a rare or unique.
This will never happen.
This game is about helping each other out towards one objective. If you see dead people lying there, you should be helping rez them, get them back on their feet, and attack again.
end of story.
don’t ignore game mechanics then wonder why you didn’t beat an objective.
I have to disagree. I’ve seen people demanding rez’s when the waypoint was less than three seconds away . . . literally within view. If they’re in a down state, sure. But, dead? In most cases, it’s actually more beneficial (and faster) for the overall group if you waypoint back.
And, apparently since it scales even if you’re dead, more so in my mind.
Yes, very viable. I use it and can survive situations that kill most players.
Maybe have resurrection orbs drop more often? Surely, people would use them if an uncommon drop.
Ardenwolfe, the problem with simply leaving them on the ground is their presence can and does scale up events even though they can not contribute. This means the rest of the participants have to carry that DPS burden, or stop to res a defeated player, again taking away DPS opportunity. Better that they waypoint and run back, but people frequently don’t do this.
You make valid point. Just seems heavy-handed to force anyone to do something that common sense would dictate. But, you know what they say about common sense….
Or . . . we could just leave them on the ground. . . .
