Unlikely since you can still spend them on something else. But it never hurts to ask . . . just don’t hold your breath.
Yes, rumor has it around July.
Yeah, it was a two-day sale only. No doubt, it’ll be back in the future. But no idea when. But, if I had to guess, probably around the weeks proceeding the next expansion or super event.
All good.
Sadly, that’s a very old and well-known bug. That said, there is a poster for part of a new achievement in that area. But, yes, I’ve seen that particular ‘event’ for around two years now.
Edit: To be clear, this bug can also move around. I used to see it all the time near the Queen’s Court in the center of Divinity’s Reach.

That the damage from the previous expansion did too much to ANet’s reputation, and there is no coming back from it no matter what the next expansion is. In other words, the broken promises, the lack of overall content, the mindless nerfing to classes due to lack of testing, the decisions based on PvP in a PvE game, the attempt to sell Living World Content as an expansion, and the bugs (some of which are very much in the game still) will make anyone think twice before giving ANet another dime . . . and rightfully so.
And now that many players are jaded and gone, it’ll be as hard as kitten to convince them to come back.
That’s my biggest fear for the expansion: the previous one created a point of no return.

The Fabulous
I won’t say it’s dying, but I will say there’s a lot less to do because of the current lack of content. While many disparaged Living World, it definitely gave us something to do.
But that’s another topic.
Thank you, Rose. +1
Can anyone else confirm that they stealth nerfed ‘Thwart the Inquest’ achievement with the last update please? It’s my understanding that you have to complete it before it will actually show up, but let’s be sure.
Yeah, I’ve pretty much given up on the Denying the Inquest achievement. Heck, I can’t get the ten wins either. Seems fail, after fail, after fail lately. . . .
Ah well. At least I got the collecting ones done. Something is better than nothing.
Got both ‘collecting’ parts done tonight. But, as mentioned, the achievement to deny the golems any energy is kitten-near impossible right now. Either way, the update was awesome.
Awesome! Now I’ll do the event. Thank you.
Wow. Just . . . wow.
Yeah, I’ll be skipping this one unless they change or fix it. Not fun. And definitely feels hamster wheel.
The answer depends on your class and your playstyle.
No, but the lack of current content ain’t helping none.
Something is better than nothing.
Dulfy is on it!

And this is the reason I hate patch day. Seriously, please quit basing your PvE game around PvP content! This is nuts.
I really don’t get this. But I suspect it has to do with the tears in PvP . . . as usual.
If you are new to Guild Wars 1, meaning you didn’t play it hardcore prior to Guild Wars 2, the Hall of Monuments is a daunting undertaking in the extreme. But it’s not impossible. Keep this in mind because you have your work cut out for you if you want all the benefits.

Not sure ‘Final Solution’ was the best title choice. . . .
They most certainly monitor it. Once, when my wife’s guild dissolved, the guild leader asked her to hold the gold from the guild until she reformed said guild. And she mailed my wife the money . . . a couple thousand gold.
Within that day, they suspended my wife’s account for ‘suspicious’ activities.
Luckily, they also resolved it the same day. So, yes, ANet watches gold transactions quite carefully.
Apparently.
Agreed. I’d love for items like these to be added to the laurel merchant.
This probably goes into the forum is broken, Anet no longer works with the contractor that made it and do not have the resources to fix it themselves file. Meaning unless that is already an option coded into the forum there is probably nothing Anet can do to fulfill your request.
Sadly . . . this. No idea why ANet just doesn’t hire someone else to do a new forum and/or transfer threads. The old VN boards ran on a shoestring, and yet somehow they made it work.
Of course, there were other issues . . . but let me not go there.
Then . . . don’t play the game anymore? You are complaining that your free meal is not as delicious as the one others paid for.
Don’t know about you, but there’s a word for that: entitled.
I’d love to use my staff underwater with my druid. That just makes sense.
As much as I tend to disagree with Ayrilana, she makes a valid point. No need for such a personal and sarcastic attack. It only proves she’s right and you don’t have a valid counterpoint.
All that said, it’s an easy fix: Just buy the expansion. At this point, the base expansion costs less than a meal. Seems a moot point to complain that others are enjoying something they paid for and you cannot because you didn’t pay for the same thing.
Or, you could just wait until the next expansion. Chances are Heart of Thorns will be free-to-play at that point too . . . given history.

Well, to be honest, after your latest responses OP, it sounds more and more like an , “I lost and it isn’t fair,” issue than anything else now. Sorry, but I must concur: Learn to Play.
By the way, as a mesmer? You shouldn’t be getting hit at all. Mesmers aren’t meant to take a ton of burst damage.
I’ll leave it at that.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
Yeah, everyone who read that developer statement knew a huge cluster would follow. And look. Here we are with multiple threads about it.
Ironically, I have zero issues with warriors . . . ever. But mesmers make me nervous. They’re my #2 bane. Really, it depends on the player, their skills, and their trait and gear choices.
Some mesmers I walk all over and others make me pull out all the stops.
You might’ve faced the warrior who knew what he was doing and made the right choices when dealing with mesmers.
It’s like that sometimes . . . there’s always someone better.

I edited my answer, but to be clear: The core game perks that you paid for will remain the same. The cost variance is for the perks in Heart of Thorns . . . not the Core game. Thus the various costs.
Those perks, like the glider for example, are part of the more expensive package.
So, no, you don’t have to ‘re-buy’ the most expensive version to keep your Core Game perks. The costs are for the new perks in the expansion only.
Well said, Josh. Agreed. +1
So . . . he runs in a big circle on the map to farm wood? This is groundbreaking news?
True minion summoner or spirit spammer. Still hoping for a ranger spec that will allow you to have two pets out at the same time . . . permanent-like.
Not holding my breath though.
Edit: Imp master for elementalists could be interesting.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
Yes, been in the game for a while.
Yeah, it seems adding back Crab Toss did something to the NPC.
I believe it’s a prologue to the upcoming Season 3. Pretty easy to complete the achievements. Did them in less than an hour. Hopefully, more carrots to chase in the coming days.
God bless Dulfy!
Thank you for this post. The graph pretty much mirrors what most of us could already knew, but what the fanatics want to deny. Yeah, that nosedive after Heart of Thorns is pretty drastic, but it also just makes sense.
With nothing to do in game, there’s pretty much nothing to talk about as well.
I feel you. Tried this for the longest and finally broke down—a couple months ago—and just bought the remaining items on the Trading Post myself. I think I spent maybe 200 gold total on the five or six I still needed.
Granted, I think I also bought the majority as well. Given that they were cheap at the time.
The ironic part is I got most of my non-bought drops from PvP chests. But, that said, I seriously doubt the drop rate will increase any time soon. Some of us have still yet to see a precursor drop since starting in open beta over three years ago.
So . . . I wouldn’t hold my breath.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
It took a huge nosedive about a month or two after HoT and has slowly declined since. The reason? There’s nothing to do right now for the vets not overly interested in PvP, WvW, or raids.
I fully expect it to take another upswing when Living World returns, but for right now? Some areas are Tumbleweed City.
Personally, not much right now. Prior, I liked the near-monthly updates with new carrots to chase. Kept me very interested. Pretty much waiting for something new to happen.
Hopefully, that’ll happen sooner than later.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
Yes, for roaming PvP? Protect Me then. Definitely. You can lock an opponent, and prevent them from healing or escaping, with timely uses of Taunt and Protect Me.
If I only had to choose one? Guard. No question.
Sadly, we’ve gone into the realm of no return with all elite specs. They are needed for the classes if the player wants to stay competitive in both PvE and PvP.
Any drastic change, even one to bring the spec in line with the core lines, will be met with rage. So, instead of nerfing, ANet needs to bring the core lines on par with the elite spec. Again, sadly, yes . . . power creep.
But there’s no turning this ship around now.
Given the big hint in Rata Novas. . . .
