The massive amount of nerfs have been from PvP . . . not PvE. Tragic’s observation is on point, and he has history to back it up . . . sadly.

I’d love for staff to have more damaging effects. Burning to beam or wisp makes the most sense. But we’ve already seen where that went the moment rangers and druids started to win in PvP.

Blind nerfed. Smokescale nerfed. Astral force nerfed. Etc.

Like he said, “It’s not happening.”

For the longest time, I used carrion devourer in PvE. It is, by far and at the time, the tankiest pet in the game. No, its retreat maneuver is not ‘useless’, but a key element that keeps it alive against champions and bosses if you know what you’re doing. It made soloing a breeze. Underwater, carrion devourer is a beast.

Please, for the love of God, don’t asked for anything to be nerfed with ranger. Pet or otherwise.

It distracts from meta events. Please make it so you can’t redo hero points for daily rewards unless the map has successfully completed the meta event in full.

Absolutely not. Enough is already gated behind metas. If people don’t want to help with metas, and do something else, that’s their call. I don’t like it either, but I’d still like people to have a choice in the matter.

Please let’s not go down this road anymore than we already have.

i did it on my rev without a single bug and now doing the whole HoT story again with my reaper and still not saw a single bug……..

Consider yourself lucky. I know the most common bug is that the rift to ‘turn’ your companions to your side spawns outside a reachable area. The other is that the draft doesn’t lift you into the air, and it causes instant death.

And then there are the weird bugs, but that would take way too much time to explain.

Ranger since you mainly PvE.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s my understanding that any time an employee posts here, their response must first go through some kind of committee for approval. At least, that was the case some time ago after the SAB disaster.

If that’s still the case, Reddit might be a simple way to bypass this ‘committee’ and post without having your writing submitted for approval or disapproval.

There is truth in this. ANet has said in order to access future Living World content, you will need to buy the expansion. This pretty much tells me that new areas in the Deep Jungle is where the new storyline will take place.

It should be. As long as you log in and play the episode during the release times. Afterwards, you’ll probably need to pay for the old episodes.

And yes, there should be a Season 3. Living World is supposed to act as a buffer between expansions. At least, that was the original intent. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.

I just watched the movie tonight. It’s awesome, and I recommend everyone see it. That said, the days prior? I turned map chat off. After I watched the movie, I turned it back on. Yes, it’s a sad state, but obvious troll is still obvious.

I believe given the standard of casual play over the last two or three years in the core game was its own advertisement. More to the point, you could pretty much solo everything up until Arah and Zhaitan.

Honestly, I think that was the first and only time I grouped that first year: when you had to fight through the original instance.

And they nerfed that too. And the champions in all the starter areas. And the more dangerous mobs there. And underwater combat because it was ‘hard’. And the way we could pick and choose traits early on because casuals couldn’t figure it out.

Experience showed us that Guild Wars 2 was very casual. You don’t need to read it on the box when you’ve seen it in the game itself.

I pretty much suck at it too, but after some practice I managed to do it successfully three times to get the achievement.

But I’ll admit that mushroom jumping puzzle in Tangled Depths gave me a lot of practice with this style of puzzle.

No, the reason why the developers don’t touch us is because rangers can’t figure out what we want. I mean, look at this thread. Look at the fiasco with smokescale.

But I’ll tell you who does know what they want from rangers: our enemies and opponents in PvP.

And thus, the nerfs and ‘balancing’ you’re seeing.

Using a legal damage meter (doesn’t break terms of service) I looked at my ranger’s damage over a decent period of time (several minutes). Simply put I was capping out at just a little over 5k dps. This isn’t enough to bring it to raids by its own. With frost spirit, sun spirit, and spotter ranger is just barely acceptable, but base ranger damage is not enough to kill the first boss with in the enrage timer. Don’t bring ranger outside of druid, and don’t play ranger in raids. I’m saying this as long time ranger main. Condi ranger basically isn’t any better either.

I’m doing the track right now as well. As far as profitable? Hit and miss. So far, I’ve gotten nothing spectacular, but the gifts are helping toward the candy eating and booze drinking achievement.

Sometimes, it’s not the class, but the player behind the screen. I know a lot of rangers don’t like to hear that, but ranger is the easiest class to play . . . but by far the hardest to master.

It’s a sad thing, but after so many nerfs . . . you must bring your A-game. Otherwise, yes, the ranger is dead . . . for you.

The answer really depends on your build, your skill choices, and whether you’re willing to take a beating or not.

For example, if you’re using a ‘Guard’ shout/regeneration build where your pet’s F2 is also traited to heal, then a fern hound is somewhat pointless. Add Heal as One, and it’s even more pointless in this example.

Again, depends on what traits and skills you’re using. But really, any pet that adds a buff to the party over time is a bonus. Moas, cats, etc. would be good for support.

I wouldn’t hold my breath on this one.

You know, there’s no reason for you and the others responders (save Zeefa) on this thread to show your butts. While I also research such things, sites like Dulfy (as much as I like it) should not be a requirement in order to enjoy the game fully.

This is how to be civil on the forums: I agree the outfit should also work with the effect like this and Nightfury. Unfortunately, at this time, they do not. Maybe you could make that suggestion to ANet and they can change it?

Yeah, the description is misleading if not an outright lie. ANet needs to edit that out or add more skritt that are throwing snowballs like in Old LA.

This is true. What I noticed, in the hours it took to get this daily, that if you target the smaller skritt, it’s more likely to take. The bigger skritt seem to be bugged.

You need to run ahead, before the spawn, and try to take them after they lose their invulnerability. But, even so, you’re more likely to see someone kick it, get hit by a snowball yourself, or lose your snowball because the time ran out on it.

Yeah, having two opposing goals on the same quest wasn’t a bright idea.

Agreed. Finally got this done in the late, late hour. You’d be surprised at how many people were trolling this event. Hope ANet fixes it. Never want to do this daily achievement again…

On a side note, in case it’s not sarcasm, trying to hit skritt ‘anywhere in Tyria’ doesn’t work. Believe me, more than a few of us tried. No idea why ANet added that because it’s simply untrue and misleading.

Yeah, I aimed for the head as well, and it hit. Granted, it’s late at night and not as many people kicking them. But it’s still a bad idea to have this with the kicking together. A very bad idea.

Actually, I finally managed to hit the skritt twice. It seems the kicking was making it hard as hell. Also, the angles with the throw seem a little off. If I aimed higher, it then seemed to hit the skritt.

Yeah, a lot studying and memorizing YouTube videos to see how it’s done. Even so, the best I can get (so far) on those two are silver as well. Haven’t even attempted the shoot gallery one yet.
