That’s because Vabbi is the northern province of Elona, but it’s not in the north of Tyria.
No, it’s to the south of Ascalon on GW2 map. Crystal Desert and the surrounding areas, most likely. Which makes Kralkatorrik the likely adversary.
Sand in the Crack
That’s not unusual in GW2. I wonder if somebody actually made AG with Maguuma Lilies…
Can you give some examples? As in, actual lines? The story is rather middling, but I never noticed anything like what you’re describing.
Hey guys, help me out here real quick: does the Scientific Sword clip through the ground when stowed on an asura character? And if it does, by how much? A pic would be perfect.
And yeah, I know there’s a preview screen but it tends to be blatantly wrong on asura chars when it comes to weapon length, and I’m not buying a skin this expensive on the basis of this often faulty evidence.
I’ll eat my hat if they do.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Elixir_X
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Plaguelands
Notice anything?
Why on earth would they give plaguelands to Elixer X? The entire point of Elixer X is that it’s a transform skill. Plaguelands isn’t a transform.
How would it even work anyways? You have a 50% to go into a transform otherwise drop a PBAoE?
My thoughts exactly. And what does updating or not updating skills have to do with balance anyway?
Oh no no no no no, I want others to suffer the same way I suffered to get there.
Tangled Depths
Dry Top
Draconis Mons
I’ll leave it at three. Do I even need to specify the reason for my picks?
By covering ears.
But we already have that, its called Human
that makes no sense from a genetic point of view, especially since Norn boys look as “normal” as their girls.
It totally can make sense, puberty and other hormonal changes can theoretically cause the shape of growing bodies to change dramatically. It’s a stretch in this case, but making statements like this just makes it obvious you know jack kitten about genetics.
Adding more options, however slightly different they may be, is definitely not a rip-off, especially since they added makeover preview NPCs to make sure you don’t get ripped off. OP is spouting bull.
TL;DR: I get “bronze” rewards for Jade Cannon events even though I’m on the other side of the map and definitely didn’t tag any mobs or participate in any other way.
When I go to Lake Doric, I start by going south and getting the first heart by training with the militia, then pick up jade fragments in the south and the middle of the map. Most of the time I don’t attack or kill anything except the training NPCs by this point. This is when I usually get a popup informing me that I have successfully participated in a Jade Cannon destruction event. First two times it was the Fort Evennia cannon (I could tell by the tick next to the daily achievement). I haven’t even been close to it both times. Today it’s Saidra’s Haven cannon. I passed by it but didn’t engage any mobs (and my Engi doesn’t have passive attacks or offensive triggers of any sort).
So yea, I’m absolutely 100% positive that I didn’t participate in those events.
My two cents: BFF situation is worse than Doric farm (which is actually supposed to be a farm) and I’m surprised they took care of the latter before the former.
I’m sure something is going to be done to stop BFF as well. For now I just make the point of reporting every single AFK farmer on my daily berry run.
Uh huh, and also condition damage by 20% while we’re at it.
Guardian GS, warrior axe offhand, or Dagger Storm are all possibilities.
And yes, warrior GS 3 does a spinning motion as you move forward.
In that case there is fiery greatsword and of course there is Overload Fire.
Off hand axe for ranger as well but you can’t move while using that.
Hammer 2 of scrapper I guess.
I don’t think mobs use any of those.
Pirates do the NPC version of https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dagger_Storm
It is indeed, considering that crabs have to get their shells somewhere! Maybe the giant snails are extinct and the crabs are wearing fossil shells exclusively?
We have hermit crabs in Tyria, but no giant snails. Where are the giant snails?!
Those are some weird standards of cuteness, OP. She looks very severely deformed to me. But I guess the beauty is in the eye of the horrific multi-eyed aberration whose name is a trademark of the WotC®.
It is strong, especially considering that this +50% doesn’t count towards the +100% condi duration cap!
Communal Defenses is another effect that only affects allies.
Five years of being disappointed and annoyed. You gotta admire the OP’s insistence to persist with chewing on the cactus.
Geology is not a real science.
Remember to stay in school folks!
Yeah, I choked on my tea when I read that.
You can’t be serious. Trahearne’s voice acting is superb, it does a great job at portraying just what sort of person he is.
I can’t honestly say if geniously ironic or, politely speaking, “something else”
Not sure what “geniously” is supposed to mean, but I am serious. The voice acting for Trahearne meets the two main criteria (at least, for me):
1. It sounds natural and doesn’t break immersion, i.e. you don’t imagine an actor reading a line, but believe it’s a character saying these words.
2. It fits the character’s personality.
You can’t be serious. Trahearne’s voice acting is superb, it does a great job at portraying just what sort of person he is. Half of the VA work in THIS GAME is much worse.
That’s why the sensible way to name your asura is: <Occupation><Name>.
The infamous Sharky Longears and his golem THUNDERNATION!
I think the OP is saying their charr would be the cat in their home instance, not that their charr has home instance cats.
Yep, that was the joke. The charr home instance has a whole bunch of cats, which makes the M.O.X. monologues hilarious if you don’t have any regular cats in the instance. I like the idea of him cleaning up charr hairballs.
That’s… you just described the very idea behind elite specs. Well done?
What cats? What hairballs? My home instance has never had any cats in it, and it never will have any cats in it. Unless I’m playing as my Charr alt, in which case it will.
This kinda annoys me more than any more important issues people bring up. Really, do the devs have stats on the percentage of players who did take part in this cat collection thing? It’s an easter egg, it’s very easy to miss altogether (I certainly wouldn’t know it’s a thing if I didn’t frequent the forums) and it has no AP- or shinies-based reward so a lot of people would flat out not do it.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that cat collectors are a tiny minority of players in the game. Certainly not enough to justify giving M.O.X. this dialogue that just makes the old rusty bucket seem insane to anyone who’s not into cat herding.
100% stability uptime. :P
I like Taimi as well, she’s fun.
Trahearne was also a great character with a lot of depth (arguably the most depth in the entire game), but the writers really missed the mark with him by not considering how “the core MMO audience” would react to such a character essentially being their superior and getting a l33t magic sword ahead of them.
I don’t need more things for my characters to clip through.
On a side note, I realized only now that the Beastslayer GS is made out of arrowhead scales. O_o
The best-looking gray hair dye for an… experienced, mature adventurer.
“Wouldn’t you rather dye your hair to get rid of the gray?”, you may ask.
No, no I would not.
Now if only we could toggle all those ridiculously tacky wings somehow…
Isn’t there an option to permanently use default character models in PvE? Or is that just until things load?
Sure there is, but I don’t mind anything else (or at least, don’t mind it as much… there’s a bunch of other stuff that makes my head hurt). There’s a certain difference between seeing everyone with default skins on and just clipping their wings and leaving everything else untouched.
“Target Confirmed: Not Sylvari” was funny the first 43,235 times I heard it; not so funny afterward.
It’s “Analysis Complete: Target not Sylvari”. For something that’s annoyed you so much, you sure don’t remember it too well, heh heh. :P
Now if only we could toggle all those ridiculously tacky wings somehow…
Taimi is mostly great (by GW2 storytelling standards, which are admittedly rather poor), don’t change a thing.
If you don’t take your items within a reasonable timeframe, the BLTC will send it to their sorting office in Orr, and you’ll have to trudge over there to pick them up.
Over 2 years of playing and I still haven’t joined any guilds (other than my own one-person guilds) or made any friends in this game. I don’t particularly want to either. Solo PvE roaming and entry-level fractal pugging are more than enough for me.
I might have considered joining a proper guild, and you can’t spend much time in GW2 without getting unsolicited offers, but none of them have been convincing. The fact that pretty much all of them had horrendous typos in the description/message or even the title certainly didn’t help.
There is, it just clips through your character’s face. They’re not going to fix those minor things, that’s what the preview window is for – making sure things look good on your character before buying them. You may have luck with support though, I suggest opening a ticket.
Yeah, if you think they’re cowardly, you don’t get what the guardian is supposed to be about.
And I refuse to even consider this an immersion-breaking issue while FOR GREAT JUSTICE is a thing.
Balthasar have mercy on my ears…
That’s an unlikely god to ask for mercy.
Could I be the only one who preferred it over the current voice-over-gameplay-or-whatever-you-wanna-call-it system? One of the good things about it was that it was skippable but I’m a sucker for lore, so I mostly let it play out. The main advantage of that system for me was that you pretty much had to see what NPCs look like up close. During gameplay, I keep the camera as far as possible at all times, so I have very little idea of what all the new NPCs look like unless they’re shown close up in cutscenes.
Meh. I don’t know where I was going with that. All I’m saying is, I liked it. I guess not everyone did, or they wouldn’t have changed it.
Being able to inst cast a stunbreak is a huge QoL feature.
Uh, no. In this case, it’s a fix more than it is a buff, but it’s still a functional change. Not QoL in the usual video game meaning of the term.

They should just replace Venom Enhancement (which is an awfully underwhelming trait) with a trait that gives Rev the “moving” value of Torment damage at all times, similarly to traits which increase damage of specific conditions for other classes.
