Many items require you to play the associated chapters with the character that first chose the item that begins the collection.

No no, I am talking about one and the same character here, the one who picked the Whispers storyline. I thought I’d made that clear in my initial post.

Edit: Again, the Whispers character did not receive said Whispers items upon completion of the chapters that reward said items.

Hello community,

I finished the HoT storyline with my Herald, who chose to follow the Order of Whispers.

I did NOT receive
- the Golden Whispers Buckle,
- the Waterproof Whispers Padding, and
- the Dragonvine Whispers Strap
upon completing the according chapters in the storyline.

I did not have the issue with my other two characters who received the Vigil and the Durmand Priory storylines’ reward upon completion of the according HoT chapters.

Has anyone else encountered this issue before? Could it be that I played HoT before the character had finished Season 2?

Bloodstone Visage display bug

The Bloostone Visage, even though activated, does not show on the Character Selection Screen.

In the inventory (Hero Panel), however, it does show all the time, even when *de*activated (see screenshot). You can reactivate and then deactivate it again for it to stop being shown, but as soon as you close the Hero Panel and open it again it will be once again erroneously displayed.

I wasn’t active during Season 2, so I had to pay for the content. But I did not have to pay any gems or real money for Season 3. I’m confused. Are you being sarcastic with the “0.00001 sec”? I don’t know of anyone who — at this point — had to pay for Season 3.

You cannot play through it unless you buy HoT. That’s paying for Season 3…..

Ahhh, now I got it, thanks. Yes, well, that’s fine with me. And even in the light of that (which makes total sense, by the way), I consider S3 to be “for free”.

It is as free as season two was. If you log in for atleast 0,00001 sec during the latest episode you will get it for free. But if you did not log in for example during last episode with the bloodstone fen map then you have to pay a few gems to unlock it.

This mission has been bugged for years now.

Yes, they repaired the arrow cart, thank the Gods, but one lethal bug is still on:

When you die during the mission and respawn, Kas and Jory are suddenly back in Fort Salma, leaving you unprotected (no Mesmer shield) to the Modrem Thrasher boss, which makes the fight (and staying alive) a lot harder.

It’s not undoable, but it’s still a pain in the behind. It would be nice to see this fixed.

I am not trolling. I really feel, in every kind of environment, that players characters (and humanoid NPCs as well, by the way, so a screenshot wouldn’t make much sense) have shrunk, like an April, Fools joke. It is a very unpleasant perception. It appeared to happen all of a sudden.

I don’t know if it is just perception or whatever, but I am convinced that the day before, certain objects (not that champion nuhoch, but certain fences, crates etc.) weren’t overtowering me and now they are.

It might be just my perception, but I don’t understand why it overcame me all of a sudden when I have been playing this game for a while now. It’s only in certain environments. For instance, right now I am in Kessex Hills and everything seems normal.

Hello,

today I log in and all of a sudden my characters have all shrunk about half their original size. What’s going on??

I already repaired the data archive and even restarted the PC, but to no avail. (see screenshot)

I really like both LA versions. How to keep both.

We kind of do with the personal story.

That’s what I said in my initial post, but it’s not the same as you have to pursue the “correct” path of the human storyline in order to get to see as much as possible of the old city version — and it’s still not enough. Hence my suggestion.

I’d really like it. I loved the old LA, such a beautiful city, hub of trading that actually felt like an old trading city. The new LA doesn’t give me that feeling anymore. It’s too clean cut, to flashy and too bright.
The old LA encapsulated the “pirate stronghold” theme quite perfectly, and fit the entire theme of Kryta where it was situated.

I wouldn’t want a Fractal version of it, because playing Fractals is hectic and you don’t get to explore and enjoy the environment. So, a Halloween version would be quite the sight.

I also love the suggestion of a “pocket dimension” version, heh heh.

Not only do I weep for Cobiah’s dream, the city is now actually useless. I mean you can’t do TP business there, when you have to go back and forth between the bank and the TP a lot. And when people complained about that they added hopping boards instead of a waypoint. Now I spent 95% of my work in either Divinity or Rata Sum (I even got the scroll for easy crafting/Mystic Forge periods)

Old Infusions converted incorrectly

But it is a bug! Because according to your link, Na, all six of my infusions should have been converted to +9 ones:

  • If you currently possess any fine-quality attribute infusions, they have been upgraded to a +5 attribute, +7 agony resistance infusion.
  • If you currently possess any versatile attribute infusions, they have been upgraded to a +5 attribute, +9 agony resistance infusion.

I had six (!) versatile attribute infusions. So it’s definitely not been converted correctly.

Support is currently dealing with many requests, so it will take a while for them to get back to me on this. I’m just wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue?

If you have billing issues please submit a CS ticket. The wonderful people who are in our CS department can look into your account and see what is going on. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do from the forums.

Oh, don’t worry, I just wanted to check in to verify whether it was an actual bug (meaning other users have experienced it too) or some local issue before sending in a ticket, as the support is currently very busy and I didn’t want to bother them if it was a local issue. It’s working fine again by the way, thank you.

P.S. Yes, GW truly has one of the best and friendliest customer supports out there.

Old Infusions converted incorrectly

According to this Wiki page, all the Mystic Forge-crafted + 5 attribute/+ 5 AR infusions were converted into the new + 9 Agony Infusions:

However, mine weren’t. The Ascended Armor I had them implemented into now contains five + 5 attr/+ 7 AR and one + 5 attr/+ 9 AR infusions.

Why? Crafting those in the Mystic Forge was very expensive, so I would like to see this bug corrected ASAP.

As of last night’s patch, I can no lomger buy Gems via PayPal as the in-game shop refuses to open the PayPal page to complete the transaction.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? If so, is there a workaround?

I just played through the human personal storyline of a commoner who joins the Order of Whispers for the very first time… and was thrilled of how much of the old Lion’s Arch you get to visit during the story quest! <3

So, I was wondering: how would you like it if the prankster Mad King Thorne would cast a spell on LA for Halloween, turning it into its former version for the duration of the event?

I for once think that’s something ArenaNet should take into serious consideration.

P.S. I am so in love with this place, I don’t want to leave the instance! :p

I am a fan of the Ranger class. I also love the Guardian. And I loved playing the Monk class back in GW1.

Now, regarding elite specializations: I hate it when people request me to abuse my Ranger by playing a Druid. Nope, that is certainly not what I created a Ranger character for. Ranger are fighters, not healers … and druids were mystic clerics in mythology and had ZERO to do with rangers.

The fact that they decided to give the Ranger (I repeat, the RANGER!) a healer’s elite specialization (Rangers are fighters not healers!) instead of giving those abilities to the Guardian (a class that is already prone to healing) makes me facepalm every single time.

Note: Dragonhunter would have been ideal for a Ranger elite specialization. (Oh well.)

Or even better: why not introducing the Monk to GW2?? I miss that class severely and if there wasn’t a need for a healer class you wouldn’t have abused the Ranger to fill that gap.

Well, I do have to admit that I am somewhat in the same camp as the OP.

I started shortly before Christmas 2015 and am already bored to death, so taking a break and hoping the joy will eventually return. The game has quite a few elements that were enjoyable, but the excitement quickly wears off * when the game turns into a repetitive grinding experience.

  • (especially when the only thing that bears remotely as much group fun as the Underworld back in GW1, namely dungeons, had been reduced to rewarding very little and no one was playing them anymore when I joined the game)

I am glad they’ve addressed the grinding and reward issue with the Quarterly Update but am afraid that it came too late for me. More RPG and less MMO-typical repetitive gameplay would be nice.

So…

I finished the HoT expansion the other day, although I still have to finish my full exploration of two maps. But there are many things that have been bugging me and I would like to share them in the hopes that the makers of the next expansion will take them to heart.

First of all, the storyline was too short but still very exciting and fun to play, even though the dialogues seem to have been targeted at young teens, as they were extremely immature and shallow (just cheeky, cheesy, presumably “cool” phrases without anything significant to say or contribute to the story) and often made me wish I had a Skip option (which was never the case in the main campaign or in LWS2).

The maps: Extremely hard to navigate, some places took me forever to reach, which often ended up in frustration and subdued aggression, to be honest. You can barely see the updrafts in higher regions due to clouds and fog and smoke, so you were often navigating blindly and missed the updrafts you had in mind to use and fell all the way back down and had to restart. Navigating in higher regions was the biggest pain in the behind in HoT. It left the impression that this was done on purpose to keep players longer on a single map since the maps per se don’t have much content to offer apart from their highly repetitive events.

Speaking of events: You are forced to do them, because you are more or less forced to level certain Masteries or else you can’t proceed in the storyline (or into certain regions due to a lack of other transportation means). It kept you dragging along and added to the ever rising level of annoyance that was exploring HoT, in spite of the many beautiful locations that had me in awe. You just don’t have the time nor nerve to enjoy the beauty because you are too busy trying to navigate through that madness and reaching your next target location somehow.

I truly hope the next expansion will be more fun in regard of visibility (less effects that block your view, including debris) as well as design and layout logic (some points of interest were nearly impossible to reach and it was no fun attempting the crazy climb or glide a million times). Also, I also hope the person(s) responsible for the script will come up with less childish dialogues.

I just attempted, twice, to enter Lonar’s Pass throughout the Cavern Waypoint exit in LA and couldn’t. It kept loading Lonar’s Pass, then I could hear the sound of teleportation and LA was loading again, putting me back where I was before.

Great… How badly must the game be coded for it to get bugged everytime they apply changes (i.e., patches) to it?? Each part of the game should have separate code sections that don’t entwine. I am playing actively only since last December and have encountered so many story mission bugs already that I stopped counting at some point. It’s ridiculous.

I get the same “Can’t Knock Out The Guard Using F Key” error as well.

Me too, with every single one of my characters!

I was able to play through the mission before the late January patch without a problem. It’s mid March now. How long can it take to fix something vital like a story mission??

P.S. I reported this over a week ago and it still has not been fixed. And looking at the early posts here, this issue occured before (a year ago!). What is going on? I would like to finish the storyline as do my friends. (insert angry emoticon)

Story bug, can’t proceed!

Once I got the third console secured, it says “Find out what your friends think you should do next”, but I am unable to talk to them. There is no star indicator and when I do talk to each one of them, nothing happens. It stays stuck.

Please fix ASAP! The first time I played through the game, there where no such story bugs, but since this January, I keep encountering one after another. No fun.

At a guess, I think you may have got this from an old version of the reward chests awarded every 500 achievement points? They used to include a chest of PvP skins before the wardrobe was introduced.

Okay, so I guess I’ll just destroy them then. Too bad. At least, I got some skins out of them.

P.S. Darn, why didn’t I check the TP before opening the chest? Apparently, there are still some being sold on the TP for 154 gold.

Actually, I sent a request to the ArenaNet support, because I had that chest left over and couldn’t open it. They asked me to destroy it and sent me a new one, which I then opened tonight. (lol)

And no, unfortunately they cannot be put in the Mystic Forge nor salvaged by normal means. (I think there is a salvage kit available on the TP, but it’s super-expensive.)

I don’t see a point in keeping them if they are of no use. What good is it to own exclusive/unobtainable items if no one sees them nor can I sell them for gold?

I don’t remember how I got the chest. I played GW2 during the beta, then bought the game and installed it on release, but hadn’t really played it until last Christmas. So I really don’t recall the means of acquisition, sorry.

I did read the Wiki entry before posting here, but it didn’t help me. That’s why I came here, in hopes someone can tell me what to do with those items, where to store them, why they are soulbound (even when not fit for the profession), and so on.

So: Help, anyone? Destroy them? Store them?

Hello community,

I have had the aforementioned item in my inventory for years and couldn’t open it. Now I tried in the PvP Lobby and it worked. I got six exotic items (armor pieces and weapons) out of it.

Here is my question: What do I do with those? I can’t equip them (even the ones that are usable by my profession) and they are all soulbound (even the ones that are not usuable by my profession).

The skins have been unlocked, but I am uncertain what I am supposed to do with these items. Isn’t there a so-called PvP Locker where I can store them? How do I access it?

P.S. I have never played PvP, so I am a newbie in that department, sorry.

I was just attempting to do the Mastery Achievement for this story chapter and noticed the following:

Since the last patch, you can no longer knock out the first Asuran guard in order to enter the facility. It says “Press […] to knock out”, but pressing that button does nothing.

I tried with a friend, he couldn’t trigger it, either. It just doesn’t work anymore.

GW2’s situation is more complicated, since ‘build’ also includes choice of runes, weapons, and sigils.

Oh, please. That would go too far. It takes only seconds to switch to another set of armor or change weapons — like we did in GW1 where you did have the option to save skill builds.

Those are just excuses IMO. We don’t need runes and sigils to be saved into build templates. Seriously.

For some reason (probably because I am on a German server), I am receiving them in German. They are full of grammar and punctuation errors and are annoying the hell out of me.

Hello community,

I am trying repeatedly to get said achievement, but apparently I must be doing something wrong.

Just now, I jumped on the open flowers to avoid taking damage but was downed once in spite of it (apparently by the champion’s damage not the Vinewrath’s one). Is that it? Are you not allowed to be downed during this fight? Or is it a specific flower you have to hop on?

I couldn’t find ANY information online, and I have been looking more than once.

G’day,

This keeps happening to me 9 out of 10 times: When we defeat the final Mordremoth champion, I can’t open the big chest.

Additional information:

1. Yes, I do have auto-loot activated, but no, the loot is not in my inventory. Trying to open the chest via loot/use key does nothing either.

2. Even when I don’t die during that last fight and participate in dealing damage to the boss, the chest still remains locked to me. So that’s not it, either (i. e., registered damage dealt by me).

What am I missing or doing wrong?
