The light one is for sale… just not medium and heavy
Where??
Edit: Not even the light one is available, what are you talking about?
(edited by Ashantara.8731)
It states that the Aetherblade Armor set was finally back, but I see no such thing at the Gem Store.
Am I missing something??

well was leaked that conditions will be buffed by 30% and engie and other classes will get condition buffs.
What? source?

Source, please.
You don’t have to “remember” anything, you can read up all the choices you made upon creation in the Hero Panel.
Last I checked the dungeon gear had exotic stats too and wasn’t just skins.
Yes, but completely useless stat combos, which is why it makes more sense to craft it yourself.
There should be no achievements in the game that are completely invisible in the achievements tab. The only people that will end up getting these achievements are the ones that go and look on Dulfy. If you still want to keep some achievements mysterious, at least show these achievements as a ‘?’ in their respective achievement tab.

I’m posting this for a general advice post.
I’m playing through the personal story of my second character, a Sylvari Ranger. It has come to the point where I am to decide the order I want to join. I’m am stuck on this decision. Was so easy for my human thief and will be for my mage and warrior but for the ranger I am struggling. Any help or input would be appreciated.
I wouldn’t make the decision dependent on the character’s profession but on how you build the character in the first place (the personal choices you made during their creation).
Since the order pick doesn’t matter in the long run (which is a shame, by the way), I wouldn’t spend too much time on this. Just choose the one most fitting for the character.
Am I the only one that needs to put on sunglasses to read the GW2 forums?
Is there any way to turn the white into black and the black into white?
You could light the way through the English Channel with this page.
Seriously though, your drying my skin out.
White text on a black background is bad for the eyesight — that is a scientific fact. However, more color options for this forum would be nice.
Since you claim you needed sunglasses, I suggest you adjust your monitor settings as it sounds like your brightness is at an unhealthy level.
I definitely want new Elite Specializations, but they should be made more versatile so that they don’t replace the existing ones but instead provide an option which type of build the player chooses to play.
it’s not even immersive or interesting, stuff like the time it took to make 4500 elder wood logs into planks and those into staff heads and shafts and those into basic staffs for the legendary collections were one of the stupidiest time sinks I’ve seen in this game.
That is actually true, if you craft a lot it becomes quite annoying — it wouldn’t hurt if they sped up “mass production”. Then again, people would probably flood the TP with even higher quantities of their goods, which would have a huge impact on the economy — it is likely that this is the reason why Anet put breaks on crafting times.
+20% Magic Find is the way to go, IMO.
I also have all crafting disciplines max’d, including scribe because I enjoy decorating our guild hall.
I started for two reasons: curiosity about grasping the system of crafting in GW2, and for leveling my then low level characters (which I think was nerfed late last year so that now you can no longer get as much XP out of it?).
I’m glad I took the time to do this, because there are so many practical uses for the art of crafting. It really is fun, although the system appears somewhat chaotic and not well thought through in some parts. They could have done more with it and in a less complex and more orderly way.

As soon as the sidekicks/henchmen start to get sassy and disrespect/insult the player, the writers need to kill them off.
Just one last thing, since I still consider your whole argumentation silly: It’s the writers who make characters “sassy” or “disrespectful”, so you are basically asking them to kill their own creations due to what you consider bad decisions on their end. Paradoxon.
I have taken several breaks already myself due to boredom. It’s the right thing to do, because then you come back with renewed enthusiasm.
kitten this convo got deep.
I think everyone is just trying to tell you that the main game does provide you with enough knowledge about your main storyNot unless you play the content in chronological order (and watch the video for season one):
- original campaign
- Living World season 1 (visit NPC in Lion’s Arch + watch this video)
- Living World season two
- Heart of Thornes
- Living World season threethats a 4 hour video tho
So? It still beats doing all the research yourself, which takes a lot more than four hours when you don’t have a clue and check out several sources in an attempt to put the puzzle pieces together on your own. No?
Everytime I’ve been in a dungeon or fractal, there’s always been at least a death or two, and most of these deaths could have been avoided by wearing a safer set.
The safest way through a difficult fight is bringing down the opponent as fast as possible. Therefore, more health/toughness is not favorable over damage (raw or condition), because the former will only drag the fight on longer, so not really an advantage.
Even (or especially) when you are a casual player, you should go by builds that have been put together and tested by experienced players. I recommend www.metabattle.com for this purpose. Zerk gear is not recommendable for each profession.

remember that marjory the npc used gs
That’s true, as Necromancers can now use greatswords. Was she using it already before the release of HoT? I remember her starting this habit with LWS2, when her sister imbued her soul into her greatsword.
also they went into the trouble of making some anmations of classes work with the spear (halberd) so why not? I’d love a halberd based elite spec maybe warr or guard.
Halberds and spears are not the same thing. A staff comes closer to a halberd than any spear. I do hope we will get new weapon types at some point, that would be fun, even more so than new races.
Challenging isn’t massive damage, knockback, painful visual effects, requiring massive CC, or artificial difficulty like immunity unless CCed, immunity unless bloodstone magic zapped, one death = try again from the start, or massive hordes of ememies.
So what exactly does challenging content mean to you? You’ve pretty much nixed everything that can be used to make challenging content there. Would you rather just having to press F to complete story?
I find the visuals extremely painful myself, even without disabilities adding to that. There are way too many visual effects in much of the newer content that bloat the screen and make it very difficult to focus on the important stuff. I enjoy high difficulty, but I hate visual overloads. It’s not getting easier to handle with age, trust me.
Okay, but apart from the visuals and back on topic: Perhaps ArenaNet should consider making two versions of story missions, one with lesser rewards, but easy to play through, for people who can’t handle the content or just play to enjoy the story (I happen to have such a RL friend who stopped playing with the release of HoT, because he is a casual player who doesn’t care about the challenge; and that’s sad, because I love the game and would be happy to be able to play with him on occasion).

Another big “kitten you” for the people who were enjoying playing the game and getting rewards, having fun is forbidden you must do mind numbing grinds to get anything, spend tons of time in convoluted menus crafting stuff and take months because of all time gates. Way to go devs! Keep up the good job! The Trading Post is the top priority!
Well, as for crafting, yes, it is a costy hobby, but also fruitful. However, it is indeed not beginner-friendly (as we say in German), because it seems very chaotic: the UI is bloated and the functionality of unlocking recipes not made clear at all, so only practice, online guides and trial & error can help you grasping the “logic” behind it.
But in spite of its shortscomings it is worth looking into and learning all about it.
You only need to remove the silly PVE Gear from the Open PVP and accept WvW as PVP mode.
Then they could handle SPVP and WvW together and the PVP players would no longer have to deal with PVE Gear.
I couldn’t agree more. I only recently started with WvW, but I immediately noticed an issue and was wondering, too, why WvW wasn’t handled as PvP.
I really hope the Revenant will get a boost/change, I am curious to see about the other professions and hope nothing will get nerfed in a bad way.
Keep in mind, though, that the new stat combo available in Lake Doric gear is probably playing a role in all of this. They might have created that in regard of the upcoming changes (although I can’t think of any useful implementation yet).
Except weapons got to be shrinked or it’ll clip through the ground.
That’s what I meant by “imperfectly” scaled. They shrinked the size of everything in a way that weapons look smaller when worn opposed to when held, yet they didn’t adjust the focal point of where the item is attached to the character’s body, which would have been a must-do IMO since Asura have shorter legs (in proportion to their bodies) — so some weapons tend to stick in the ground when holstered (or even when held).
They should have made adjustments for each weapon individually instead of going for an easy, imperfect solution.
Please keep the “zerker is the only build” platitudes out of this topic. I have no interest in anyone’s take on what works and what doesn’t. That’s why I don’t read or post in such topics. This one is about the particulars of the Caudecus fight. Thank you.
1. I never said “Berserker only” (facepalm), please read more carefully what people write before judging their statements.
2. I played the instance with a Viper Ranger and it was easy. Ranger certainly is no class that requires extra health as it has enough as it is (much more than some other professions), for this encounter or any other. Dealing more damage (raw dmg or condition dmg) therefore is preferable.
3. Yes, it is about the Caudecus fight, and I was trying to tell people not to listen to this “extra health” nonsense (and waste gold on new gear to follow your example, thinking that it was the solution). This is my opinion and I am entitled to it, no?
(edited by Ashantara.8731)
Also for those that don’t know, they can be used out of water if you activate it in water then waypoint.
Yep, they really are fun, which is why I would appreciate them being usable and stackable like any other transformatino tonic.
Never use an online translator tool, the results rarely are intelligible.
Everything is scaled down for Asura, but not in a perfect way. Of course the scaling also affects an item’s visual effects range.
I have been waiting for this particular item to pop up in the Gem Store for what feels like forever.
Please, devs?
They never learn when it comes to repeatedly occuring bugs.
Yikes… err, yes, very “pretty” indeed. (ugh)
I have dodge on mouse button 4, special skill on E. Makes life a lot easier.
I understand that it has to be difficult so it keeps the wanting to get better, but I have to say I now know why alot of my friends and said that this is the end for them. That whole fight is PAINFUL just trying to get through it.
It depends on the profession you play. Some are easier than others. My poor Revenant had a hard time, but my Ranger and Guardian did not.
What the …? Is this a joke?
It only accepts bloodstone food which is account bound.
Only three types of bloodstone delicatesses are accepted by this picky monster.
All Mursaat were worshipped as gods by the White Mantle, therefore this imposter cannot be a Mursaat. I have no idea who’s behind the disguise, but I can’t wait to learn the truth!
I don’t think it’s a “good guy”, though, because clearly they used the Aurene vs. destroyers encounter to win the Commander’s trust. I believe strongly that it’s a sinister force, and very likely a spy for the White Mantle.
It would be funny if it were Kasmeer lol
LOL
The fastest and easiest solution is to group up with a party, just like at the end of HoT. Makes this fight a piece of cake.
My second character doing the fight (solo) had a much easier time. Ranger with marauder gear
You don’t need Marauder gear as a ranger, you have enough HP. This fight is easy to do for any ranger with a Berserker or Viper build.

I’ve been wanting to join the White Mantle, properly, ever since gw1. However given the current storyline, we could join Lazarus’ new White Mantle as they are a force for good. And considering the old White Mantle has been defeated.
Apparently, you haven’t played the latest episode yet. There are no “forces of good” where you suggest them.
@topic: No, thank you. If you want to play villains, please pick a different game.
They can no longer be interact with (or rather there is no one next to them to interact with), hence they can’t be used to fill the Karma NPC’s heart.
P.S. Why is it that with each update on this map there are always more bugs then before, or so it seems?
My question is, if I switch episodes do I lose all my progress in the current episode?
No.
Hello,
hope the devs read this: no other transformation tonic is soulbound, and now these Essences of Jellyfish are starting to cramp up my bank account space.
Please make them account-bound so they can stack, thank you.
People were instance hopping to farm them, but surely that can’t be the reason
No, it can’t be, since instance hopping (a.k.a. multiloot farming) has been a thing in all of the new maps this far.
Sorry, but cannot find the announcement you mentioned anywhere on the forum nor on the issue tracker: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/231272908-Known-Issue-Tracker
Edit —> Found it after all: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/Jade-Shard-Drop-Issue
(edited by Ashantara.8731)
Apparently, this is not kept up-to-date, as the current Jade Fragments node issue is nowhere to be found.
Hello,
as of today (?), Jade Shard nodes no longer drop any Jade Shards (on the Lake Doric map).
What’s going on?
(edited by Ashantara.8731)
Thank you, Thomas , it must be “Armored up!” upon Protection, although sloppily pronounced. I could make it out clearly on human female characters, but apparently not on male ones.
What is the male human character saying when he gets under the effect of a boon?
I’ve been trying to figure it out for over a year, but failed. It sounds like “Umberdawn!”, but that doesn’t make sense.
Thanks in advance for your help, peeps.
(edited by Ashantara.8731)
I think you nailed it.
Anyone else loving Canach now?
Now? I loved him all along, ever since Season 2. He is the coolest NPC of them all, his snarkasm is unrivaled.
Please read and correct in-game:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/Big-nose-Pete/first#post6490126
They did make a mistake by mixing up two bandits.
Big Nose Ted, is the one that gets arrested by Commander Serpentine, in the human ‘commoner’ storyline.
Pete is “Two-blade-Pete”, from the human ‘street-rat’ storyline.
This. I was wondering, too, that they made such a mistake. Correction is in order.
