Besides, what purpose does the soulbinding of these items on purchase serve?
William S. Burroughs
SO MUCH THIS.
Having xx stacks of different soulbound dungeon runes is just so frustrating… And makes them utterly useless.
William S. Burroughs
Tao: on the other hand, condi works much better against elites and champs. And the Carrion equipment provides the necessary survivability.
Besides, you can put 25 stacks on 5 mobs at once. And they melt fast enough to be content with the build, I assure you. :P

I’m a carrion/full condi thief and the Death Blossom is my primary source of damage. Fun in PvE, sometimes even does its work in WvW, with good enough timing. I really wouldn’t like my primary attack to become another power/crit spam.

I would love LA to burn… It’s a beautiful place, yes, but it’s silly that we basically have to live there in order to play the game efficiently. Every single capital city needs its Mystic Forge… Y’know, it would be great to see Charr actually LIVING in their kitten citadel. :P
William S. Burroughs
My server is mostly blue nowadays and I love the desert scenery. Nay, I say!
William S. Burroughs
Altogether I surely spent more than 2 days on my main, completing the map and doing the dalies for a few weeks, because for some time I really had fun doing that. Then I finally realized what a laggish, zergy, chaotic bullcrap it is and left it, never to come back. Made it to the 17th lvl.
Luckily, most legendaries look crappy anyway and the Twilight is as common as cold. I just hoped for the new ones, oh well.
William S. Burroughs
This decision is beyond silly. That’s the idea, to get players without the slightest interest in WvW to fill up the queues. Now everybody can enjoy the new EoTM overflows, so the dying dynamic events system will finally get abandoned and we will all enjoy our zergish pvp, so gracefully forced upon us.
William S. Burroughs
Seriously, who even comes up with such ideas. “2 months of grind are clearly not enough, let’s push the kittens some moar!”.
William S. Burroughs
AAAAAAAhahahahahahha. No legendary, ever. : -DDDDDDD
William S. Burroughs
ILLSPAWN, are you comparing the actual real-world technological progress to a game developer implementing an additional item drop in their digital mining pick? Wow.
William S. Burroughs
I have to create all my parties to set three simple rules: no glitching, no stacking, no skipping. It weeds out a certain kind of players with whom I do not want to have any contact whatsoever. Pretty much the very same players who kick anyone just because of their class and weapon choice.
William S. Burroughs
The term for those who already spent a ton of cash for multiple sets of gathering tools is ‘getting screwed over’.
William S. Burroughs
Well, it’s hard to respond in any way except ‘lol, because we could’. They’ve basically cheated all players who bought the infinite tools before. I got 7 sets. I should know. ;D
William S. Burroughs
No, just no. The idea of this pick is just wrong and it should get scrapped, like a piece of potentially gamebreaking junk it is.
William S. Burroughs
People organized a CS train on Piken during most of the Wintersday event, our Gates of Arah and Melandru were bugged and effectively disabled. It was quite fun to fight champions that could actually down a nice chunk of the train.
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
I would visit the Cursed Shore train sometimes, if it ever started running again.
William S. Burroughs
And each trash mob should activate the Predator’s auto-destruct bracelet upon death.
William S. Burroughs
Some places in Arah and fractals are ‘hard’, ‘hardcore’, ‘difficult’, etc.
The teq-like boss content is just zergy, chaotic and needs a hundred drones performing repetitive tasks.
The Marionette, however, is an example of some beautiful engineering. THAT’S how the massive, coordinated content should look like. Not a blob, running to and fro among the oodles of champions. -_-
William S. Burroughs
Making most bosses similar in difficulty to the Claw of Jormag would be fine. It’s a fight where many people die and it demands paying at least some attention to what is going on.
Making them wurm/tequatl like would simply make me quit visiting their areas (and probably the whole game in the process, as I would clearly no longer be the target of its content), as I really hate being forced to getting ‘organized’ with a millyun other people and following a chain of repetitive mechanics. I know, mad. Marionette is really nice, but I don’t see how they could introduce such multi-split strategy for most of the current bosses.
William S. Burroughs
Bazaar is definitely still on the top for me. This one is really fine, the Marionette much more so than the Wurm, but she is enough to provide a modicum of challenge which is not a pure zerg, I really appreciate that. As for the Wurm, I predict a Teq future for it, but the mechanics of the events are quite amusing, especially the Amber head’s.
William S. Burroughs
Wait wars indeed. Ignoring the content until some external timers appear. :>
William S. Burroughs
The patch, it’s the first one I remember that seems to dl forever. Might be, however, just the amount of files or the traffic alone…
William S. Burroughs
As an avid opponent of anything tequatlish, I’m very pleased indeed.
William S. Burroughs
,isn’kitten<— the system saw a kitten in this. :P

Meanwhile, in PvE, warriors still make and will make every other class seem redundant.
And my first games in spvp with a hammer warrior were also a jolly faceroll, the amount of interrupts available is simply astounding. :P After a xx games, it’s still really powerful, no need to cry for anyone. This game should be balanced both around PvE and PvP, mind you.
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
The problem is that the content we do not like starts to cover more and more of the world we do like. :P And we have been promised more of this soon. :>
William S. Burroughs
Penguin, mostly abandoned on every server and done by a single group of organized devotees? Would be a shame, I like the Claw. Shatterer needs a serious revamp, but does not deserve a tequalization.
Maybe they will rethink a few aspects of their strategy, won’t put the whole event in hands of a few turret players, will think about the completely wacky possibility that somebody does not want to use the forums and travel between servers in search for a zerg as it kind of breaks any sense of immersion and takes up way too much time for somebody who, I don’t know, has to work?
Really, would skillfully scaling the event down so it can be done by 20-30 players, with about the same effort, really hurt its quality? Or was it just too hard to prepare it properly?
I really didn’t care about the teq for the last 3 months, sometimes I laughed passing by when it stood there, untouched and decomposing peacefully. However, it would be a shame to lose Claw the same way I have lost the big old zombie.
William S. Burroughs
Eh, nothing’s perfect… Still love the design, at least I can still do it outside of prime time and it’s not a complete walk in a park. Much better direction to go for other world bosses than severely overdoing things teq way…
William S. Burroughs
Well, aiming with the difficulty a a bit above the Claw (which has a really fun and dynamic design) would, imo, be a better idea than creating this zombified, turret-dependent DPS sink… And during the Jimmy’s phase 2, doesn’t afk-attacking kill you due to the ice aura? :P
William S. Burroughs
I am doing really great on a 20/20/0/30/0 double axe build for pve. Knights/berserkers mixed to your liking, you never run out of fury and rarely have to run without swiftness.
William S. Burroughs
So, what do you think about reducing the warrior ranged capabilities (like making the range shorter etc) so it doesn’t do the ranger’s work better than a ranger? ;D
William S. Burroughs
Teq is 2/10, does not scale… Really, forcing people to hunt it only in the prime time or to roam forums and guest to other servers in search for a zerg can’t help its popularity. :>
William S. Burroughs
All the people I know and play with (many of them veterans, playing since beta, not noobs like me) just ignored the new teq since day one. So I wouldn’t be too hasty with such statements, Kopper.
Any event that doesn’t scale down to smaller groups is considered an automatic fail by really many players. IMO they should aim with mechanics and difficulty somewhere around the present Claw of Jormag or a bit higher. Just use the scaling, feline censorship, they implemented it for a reason.
William S. Burroughs
“To each their own, but the Teq fight got a ton of likes over dislikes.” – any source on this one?
William S. Burroughs
Oh well, Bloodtide never was my favourite place anyway. For mah wonderfully unzergish challenge I’ll visit the good old Lupi and friends, thank you very much.
William S. Burroughs
I hope that this ‘teq difficulty’ stuff is only speculation, I already forgot how Splintered Coast looks like… I hate this teamspeak coordinated, schematic zergfest, I really do.
William S. Burroughs
Karlus, not for everyone it’s all about PvP, mind you.
William S. Burroughs
Not only the matter of easy and powerful skills, but also the incredible resillience, mind you.
Now, I think that warrior should simply have its ranged capabilities significantly toned down, that would be basically the only way to remedy the situation without buffing all other classes and ruining this game for all PvE players once and for all. :>
William S. Burroughs
I hope they never make other classes that powerful, it would make this game about as interesting as boiling a potato.
William S. Burroughs
I went double axes, so I wouldn’t know about HB… And I also started with an engi, later an elementalist… And now I stumbled upon something that uses 4 buttons in a sequence, facerolling things ’til their blood bleeds. :>
William S. Burroughs
After rolling a warrior my skills in playing another classes started to wither at an alarming rate – I got quite lazy while playing this class.
I don’t even have to dodge too much, most enemies aren’t able to get through my passive healing, I’m getting ~45 sec of swiftness every 60 seconds., permanent fury is there… It’s almost funny how easy this game has become for me. Also, everything just melts after a few hits, making 90% of the game a silly walk in a park.
Mind you, I rolled the warrior after maxing every single class except for a guardian (never liked heavy classes in games), getting the dungeon master and stuff… And in perspective, a lone warrior does pretty much everything that other classes can, but better, barring maybe the 1500 range of the ranger and in a team it can provide a lot of fury, might, cond removal and even healing through the shouts. Working as intended?

I’ll consider her a holiness incarnate, if only she kills Trahearne on one of her rampages.
William S. Burroughs
Bump, the events gaining value over time are really a nifty idea, would be a shame if it went to hell without any discussion at all. :P
William S. Burroughs
So, what’s the status? FUBAR or the good old SNAFU?
William S. Burroughs
No worries, the servers have just assploded. :P
William S. Burroughs
And they should stay like this, a bait for the naive.
William S. Burroughs
Well, you buy them with gems and they enhance your gathering abilities. If that’s not P2W, I dunno what is. :P
William S. Burroughs
Quartz in precursors? Wouldn’t it completely screw new players who never had a chance to do the Bazaar meta?
