And even if, the boss does not go out of combat, so you don’t lose any progress…
William S. Burroughs
I had this feeling that rushing to the maximum level asap is not exactly the best investment to make… :P

Monkey Island – the Whispers storyline, you pretend to be a pirate and have to fight using insults. :P

Bought Rodgort’s Flame for ~60g.
And strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!
I mean, if I went ‘round saying I was an emperor, just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d put me away!

For me it would be really fine if not for the megaserver, which turned Tyria into a giant farm. It’d really take some time to rescale the old zones for the crowds we have now… And I’ve got the feeling they’re not even trying to.
William S. Burroughs
I was hoping this would work itself out, but it hasn’t, so I would like to mention it.
There are several events in the world boss lineup in particular that it’s nearly impossible to get credit for if you even blink. I have done Maw more often than many others, so I’ll focus on the pre-events for it (Svanir Shaman world boss in Wayfarer Foothills).
Grawl attack Krenneck’s Homestead, protect Scholar Brogun, dragon totem, Defeat the shamans, and close the portals are the events that lead up to the spawn of Maw. All of these should scale according to the number of players in the area. With mobs being weaker due to the trait changes, these guys die in a couple of shots from a level 80, and I’m lucky if I get credit for bronze participation. Spawn more grawl, more help, more portals, and make the totem have significantly more health (when the group demands it). I mean, if you blink, you will miss the dragon totem event. I was shocked to discover that killing the shamans he summoned was an event of its own when I lucked into it one day.
There are many escort events that don’t seem to scale with the crowd at all, and it’s frustrating to miss an event because of the sheer amount of people present. It makes it feel like games with tagging, to be honest, because it’s another kind of competition for kills, instead of cooperation.
This still hasn’t been addressed.
Same goes for Fire Elemental. It’s not only frustrating to not get rewarded, it’s dull to wait a solid minute before a single enemy spawns nearby.
And what about Orr? An average wave of Melandru trash dies as soon as it becomes vulnerable. You just have to camp and wait for the split-second moment when you have to unleash ALL THE AOE. Laughable. I daresay that a 10th lvl player could survive among the zerg and even take some part in looting, if in party.

tbh, I’ve just stopped visiting early zones in April, after they’ve been made as easy as they are today.
William S. Burroughs
Ayup, same here.
William S. Burroughs
He rests his case. People laughed. I guess we’re done here, right? ;D

EoTM doesn’t have trash mobs and that’s where the profit is. Champs got nothing on stacks of T6 bags.
William S. Burroughs
Yeah, I’m for anything that would take at least some farming zergs out of open world so I don’t have to watch this sad spectacle.
William S. Burroughs
Did someone mention that the scaling got nerfed with the april patch as well? Before that the scaling was more effective and playing in lower level zones could be dangerous for a fully geared 80 if not cautious. I liked it better that way as I had more game than now.
Yeah, me too. The <80 zones are much easier for downscaled people since the trait changes. Kind of sad, it makes them really boring.

We do it because we have to..
Who are those “we” you’re talking about?
William S. Burroughs
SoloQ is much better, one third of your games are 4:5 for most of their duration. ;D
William S. Burroughs
Besides, when you’re 80, the early zones ARE silly easy and you ARE much too powerful for their difficulty. The downscaling just ensures you one-or-sometimes-two-hit monsters and not perform 9.000.000.000 dmg overkills. So what’s the difference?
William S. Burroughs
The downleveling is so effective now that it if wasn’t for burrows, soloing AC at 80 would be a relaxing walk in a park.
William S. Burroughs
Wiping out my own squad in this story arc was the only remotely interesting thing in the whole PS after Claw Island. Well, this and the freaky mansion where the Mouth lives, it was kind of cool, too.

It’d be cool if healing people who dps monsters contributed to your tagging. After the monsters are reworked to actually pose any kind of threat to a zerg.
William S. Burroughs
Just wondered if we got any update on this. Silly me, huh?
William S. Burroughs
If anything, the maps and events are heavily overpopulated.
William S. Burroughs
Inquest underwater base in Metrica lost their pet shark. And personnel. And turrets. Only fair that the other krewes also lose something.
Eh. Yeah, it’s sad.
William S. Burroughs
A fair warning: one mention of midi-chlorians and the world shall burn.
William S. Burroughs
Definitely B. /15 chars.

I am a working man, which supposedly makes me a ‘casual’ player. I don’t want ANYTHING in this game made even easier. It’s being gradually dumbed down anyway. Everything is getting simplified, mobs are getting nerfed, events flooded with megaserver zergs, early level dungeons after the trait changes are laughable. Even the repair costs have been removed, ffs!
At least let me do my map completions, as it is pretty much the last PvE thing in this game that hasn’t been damaged in some way.
Thank you.

I think they should have fog of war and all the waypoints should be blocked.
Howgh.
William S. Burroughs
But nobody will ever get to struggle with evil bunnies again. They’re so timid now… :/
William S. Burroughs
Before introducing the rushed and faulty megaserver system they should’ve reworked the scaling. Truly, the open world just turned into a giant autowin.

I’ve started it before removal, it was already in progress…

I’ve logged in onto my Necro a few days ago. I’m a one lucky kitten.
William S. Burroughs
I still hope LA will serve as a sink for all the elder wood spawned by the frantic Foxfire farming. :P

I feel like a kitten now, though.
I’ve spent quite a few years of my life certain that this phrase means something else than it does. So I should thank you (I won’t though, ‘coz I’m a bit of a kitten). Besides, I get paid for pinpointing errors in my own language, so yeah. :P

Irritating error ruthlessly eradicated! (not counting the quotes, but oh well ;P)

Meh, D20… Warhammer Fantasy 2nd edition is where the awesomeness is at.

THANK YOU, 15 CHARACTERS!

Eh. I’ve started my full-time complaining after the introduction of the megaservers. From a highly populated server I suddenly moved to the middle of the zergfarm traffic, which turned the most beautiful and interesting MMO I knew into a parody of itself. It’s still a good game, but… With the horrible population imbalance it’s lost so much of its soul, it’s sad.
I’d just like to have a way to escape to less populated maps… Not empty ones, but similar to those Piken had before MS hit.

So that one day you can be free…
William S. Burroughs
It isn’t a ‘mistake’
If something causes this kind of backlash, problems for players and is widely regarded to be a horrible mistake, it is a mistake.
William S. Burroughs
What damage? The megaservers will prevent any kind of population decline… Unfortunately for me. I’d love to see a bit fewer zergs around.

The effects change depending on whether it’s day or night. So during the day it’s Sunrise. At night it’s Twilight.
Never understood this choice, tbh. Should be the other way around…
William S. Burroughs
Zuzu is currently at about 17g on the market, right? :P
William S. Burroughs
They have even introduced an airship trip to Orr instead of smooth transition we had beforehand. I fail to see how this could be done by accident.
William S. Burroughs
The only class I’ve maxed out twice is engi. One for direct damage (rifle) and one for conditions (pistols). Those two guys can be now modified at a whim to serve pretty much any purpose in this game. A solid set of kits, strategies, functions… 10/10, would level a third, if it wasn’t for the NPE.
William S. Burroughs
Each one counts only once.
William S. Burroughs
Sorry, no, I’ve got a bit of a fever, I’ve just misinterpreted your post. This whole thinking thingy is somewhat tricky with a half-boiled brain. Carry on.
William S. Burroughs
Only the trait tiers. The individual traits were free. The tiers were dirt cheap, too.
William S. Burroughs
You like good stories… Wait for a while. The main story has just been butchered, retconned and made absolutely illogical. But if you do start a new character, then the charr Blood Legion early story is still mighty fine.
William S. Burroughs
See I like this mobs for this reason, the mobs in the Lab are far more interesting to fight than most mobs and are still easy to handle. They’re far better than the boring loot pinatas the rest of the game is filled with.
Exactly. In times when 90% of the world has been nerfed to the ground (hello, trait changes) and the CS Megalodon gets stripped of its only defence against zerg, one welcomes anything that is even slightly more difficult.
William S. Burroughs
A labirynth of a mad deity. In theory, supposed to make you go mad. U mad bro. Seems legit.
William S. Burroughs
Or just take your time, kill those mobs, which aren’t that powerful and get to the train a minute or two later.
