William S. Burroughs
Wow. We definitely should.
William S. Burroughs
Hah, just stumbled upon my beloved bunny heart in the Foothills. Bunnies do not even try anymore. ;/
William S. Burroughs
What Shroom said.
And how are we supposed to react to the fact that they remove content from the game? Remove bundles? Remove quests? Remove ‘confusing’ events? They shamelessly butcher the game we paid for and call it features.
These complaints have a solid basis.

I’ve certainly stopped advertising the game. I’ve been practically forcing it upon people for the last 15 months. Now it’s time to quicken its downfall, it’ll be healthier for us, prolonged agony is not a good thing to watch.
William S. Burroughs
Y’know what, I think the answer might be found in the vast depths of the Steam™ sea. I hear there’s more than a few adventures awaiting there. Sharks included.
William S. Burroughs
They actually deleted the shark?
William S. Burroughs
I’ve just stumbled upon the new, pathetic cannonball event in Plains of Ashford. Instead of the heart with carrying cannonballs stolen by skritt there is wave after wave of skritt to be killed. Ad infinitum. Mindless grind instead of interesting bundle mechanics.
I want to stay the hell away from the starting zones from now on. Never mind alts. Not sure if I’ll ever complete another world. It’s just sad to watch this failure, this travesty of a good, rich content.
William S. Burroughs

Starter zones bundles and minigames have been one of the best things about this game’s early stages. Carrying cannonballs, throwing them at skritt, running around with water and putting out fires, it was all really decent content, offering a new player a lot of fun.
And now it’s reduced to repeatedly spamming F and smacking monsters. As if you couldn’t just add those options TO the bundles. You damaged your own product and our enjoyment of the early game.
Why? Why couldn’t the ‘easy way’ be added to the already existing solutions?
William S. Burroughs
A great chunk of the content from starter zones – removed, check.
A great chunk of content from the personal story – removed, check.
Redefining the meaning of a ‘feature pack’ – check.
William S. Burroughs
1. Overcrowded? lol
Yeah, hilarious that you can’t see Frozen Maw shaman under over a hundred players, spamming all skills at random.
William S. Burroughs
The system seems to forcibly kick you when the hour-long volunteering counter reaches 0.
William S. Burroughs
Except that events are still not enjoyable in the enforced crowds.
William S. Burroughs
Sorean, what if I told you that the whole original content for this game has been balanced for groups of 5? Because it has. Including condition dmg limitations etc. And at some point the developer kind of forgot about it and went full corpo. Never go full corpo.
They removed the point of doing events, except loot. And loot is utterly meaningless. Loot is pointless. Loot does not exist. After you stop playing the game, the only thing that’ll remain with you is fun you had. Not what you grinded, you’ll be sorry about that. Unless for you grind = fun. You might be among their new target group, I admit that. I also feel sorry about that.
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
Sorean, this argument is the single most irritating thing people like you use in these discussions.
MMO is NOT supposed to be overcrowded. You are supposed to be playing with people, not be SMOTHERED by people.
You should be able to fail events. You are supposed to use mechanics of your character in order to achieve success.
Do you seriously consider the stuttering world boss light shows something this game should be proud of? Do you enjoy loot tagging race as the only form of challenge? If so, gg, discussion over.

I’ve been happy as a child whose toy has been given back when I could roam the underpopulated map for a longer time. Being kicked out of it straight into the zergfest was a sad moment. Hasn’t happened to me since. I would love an option to stay there for as long as I friggin’ want.
William S. Burroughs
And here I was thinking that my 4/4/0/6/0 shout build is something unusual. :P
William S. Burroughs
However we look at it, a large amount of content has been removed from the game.
William S. Burroughs
Decent trolling, but nah, won’t bite.
William S. Burroughs
The Fire Elemental just died in like 5 seconds. Just saying.
William S. Burroughs
I would so kitten happy if the solution included lowering the megaserver map caps. Having minis AND breathing space, what a treat…
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
Please, oh please, let the EQN be good enough to switch games…
William S. Burroughs
Yes. So very much this. You destroyed the newbie zones. You destroyed someone’s work. You will scare away dozens of intelligent people, who would have actual fun carrying the food and water, feeling they’re doing something in the fantasy world.
Now they click on the cow and dance. They kittening dance for the cow. Their whole out-of-combat gameplay has been reduced to spamming F. KURWA MAC.
William S. Burroughs
Dance for the cows! Rub corn! Press F ’til you decide to find another game! Do ncsoft and anet want to kill this product this badly?
William S. Burroughs
They seem to think that new players are not even able to do the equation of food + cow = fed cow. So now we dance for cows. SPORE style. And we rub corn, making it grow.
William S. Burroughs
Going through the kittenified newbie zones will be a chore now.
Run around and spam F. Fascinating.
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
<—- this is seriously insulting.
hurr, durr, picking up items too hard
William S. Burroughs
Who exactly decided that the key to the early game is to make it as boring as possible? Is this a sabotage?
William S. Burroughs
After the trait rebalance the right amount of people to do Ascalonian Catacombs is 3. Same goes for Twilight Arbor.
William S. Burroughs
You lost me at the revive. No need to make the open world even easier than it currently is. It’s shamefully, awfully, dreadfully, truly easy.
William S. Burroughs
I asked for this. Repeatedly. Non stop. Since April. Check my post history. A third of these have been deleted for being rude, however. I got three suspensions just for opposing Megaserver (well, two, but the third happened because of the points accumulated from the previous two and I was still feeling angry at the Megaserver ;p).
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
This kind of heavy rebalance would be more than welcome. The population density on higher level zones removed any semblance of challenge and fun from the events. For those of us, who simply don’t care about the loot (because it’s silly to care about it), the lower level zones would be a perfect escape, if we got weak enough to not juggernaught through them.
William S. Burroughs
This tagging system was quite fine before the overpopulation problem hit.
William S. Burroughs
The second proposition, with moving between various map populations, is not only needed. It possibly could allow dozens of players who left the game to return and not be forced to run popular events with a million-people lightshow.
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
But not the fact that the zerg facerolls everything while watching movies in the corner of the screen and those who actually want to fight have difficulty getting to the creatures before they implode.
William S. Burroughs
Yes, please. This game clearly doesn’t support such large amounts of players in one place. Not in terms of gameplay and not in terms of performance.
William S. Burroughs
Luckily you can also do PvP for geodes…
William S. Burroughs
Well, yeah, reworking scaling and difficulty for events would also fix the problem… Any change that would return anything slightly resembling a challenge to the open world.
William S. Burroughs
The lag situation started to get out of hand along with the introduction of megaservers. Now it’s being further aggravated by the alleged DDoS attacks.
William S. Burroughs
It’s not just about world bosses. The crowd is pretty much everywhere. Most events suck.
William S. Burroughs
Previous buyers can go to the Black Lion guy (forgot which one) with the tools in their inventory and have them turned into account bound for free. They’re actually 200 gems forward with this.
William S. Burroughs
Hayashi, Fire Elemental too. Taidha too. Megadestroyer too. Ulgoth too. Others, too.
Even those of them who weren’t dumb punching bags before turned into such after the megaserver hit.
William S. Burroughs
Well, if Shatterer was to be made into another Teq/Wurm, that would be another boss off my list. It needs to be a scary monster by itself, not a set of complicated mechanics demanding a VOIP organisation.
It needs a buff/rework, but not turning into another toy for large guilds only.
William S. Burroughs
Greeeaaatsaaaaw…
William S. Burroughs
Look like we’ve been successfully ignored.
I’ll bump this one more time, however, to direct you to this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Option-to-move-to-less-populated-Megaserver
no endless argument about the downsides/upsides of the current system, like here, just a simple request
William S. Burroughs
Yup. Quite aesthetic.
William S. Burroughs
I would love to have an option to move to a less populated map. I see absolutely no point in autowinning all events along with masses of players frantically tagging creatures before they evaporate.
Loot is utterly meaningless. Only gameplay matters. And there is no gameplay in the zerg.
William S. Burroughs
It might be an ingenious, hidden gold sink. :P
William S. Burroughs
Unless it scales down with lvl. It would be a perfect solution.
William S. Burroughs
An option to move to a less populated overflow of the megaserver.
William S. Burroughs
