William S. Burroughs
Ah, Taimi, the only interesting character in the new bunch. Yeah, she could stomp the other bland cucumbers with her lil’ robot and I’d be happy to work with her only.
William S. Burroughs
I’m dreaming…
Of the good scaling
And the events I used to know…
With the people dying
If they’re not trying
I’m tired of the lagging, boring show…
William S. Burroughs
Boring as hell and everything is far too easy.
William S. Burroughs
Since morning (CET) it’s just series of lags and disconnects for me. Unplayable, I’m afraid.
William S. Burroughs
My game is dropping like mad today. Doesn’t look like it’s on my side…
William S. Burroughs
T3 is enough to get them all, but I also hope they’re not going away. I can’t be bothered to grind all the geodes. I can’t be bothered to grind at all, tbh.
William S. Burroughs
Kind of worried about that too. That place is stunning.
William S. Burroughs
You want to play an MMO with no other people in it? Why?
Not ‘with no other people’. With reasonable amounts. Currently most events are overpopulated to the point you don’t even have to try to finish them. They just don’t scale for the new populations. It’s like running Queensdale train on EVERY event in the world.
William S. Burroughs
Well, I’m still waiting for at least a few of the destroyed events to get fixed and scale properly. Fat chance, I know, but here’s hoping…
William S. Burroughs
With this update Anet has managed to restore most of my faith in the future of this game, which was previously utterly annihilated with the introduction of megaservers.
William S. Burroughs
It’s not as if Inquest is trying to hurt them, or anything… Well, it’s true that for the subsequent playthroughs it’d be nice to at least have some exp or loot from mobs in these quests, as currently one feels he’s rather wasting time there…

2 weeks? I somehow remembered that the serious content packs will be released each month now and in the meantime we’ll be getting features and balance.
Really? Mmm I was rather hoping it would still be 2 weekly.
Actually, it might be just wishful thinking on my part. As a former QA tester I just do not believe anyone can properly check such a large piece of content in less than a month. No matter the amount of people, it’s just not possible. Too many variables, coding traps, balance issues. I just prefer quality over quantity.

This story has nothing to do with Trashearne, luckily.
William S. Burroughs
This is one of the most interesting zones up to date. Much more jumping, please.
William S. Burroughs
Pretty much the only gripe I have with this content is that the fights are shamefully easy. Your henchmen (that’s what they are, basically) reflect this by being pathetic dps sponges.
William S. Burroughs
Absolutely no zerg. Beautiful.
William S. Burroughs
Some people are conditioned to following the blue tag and pressing 1 for profit, don’t be too kitten them… This map is small, but nicely packed with challenges and content, me likey.
We need moar.
edit: the kitten part is “on hard”, reversed.

Ding dong! The tree schmuck is dead! ;D Thanks.
William S. Burroughs
Not sure if this is a bug… But I’m kind of stumped. The first time he turned it on, I was supposed to break it with the sun aspect. Doesn’t work the second time, though. The sun aspect does nothing. The guy’s unkillable. Any ideas/suggestions?
William S. Burroughs
It also inhibits PvE in events where lack of scaling causes spawns of 5 trash mobs for 10 people. Sometimes 10 for 50, in the case of Gavbeorn’s Landing.

When she said ‘stupid hostages’ in her pavillon instance, when you saved Faren, it totally cracked me up. Whatever the writing, her voice really made Scarlet enjoyable from time to time.

The utterly useless soulbound runes dropping in the dungeons are one of the silliest ideas anyone could’ve come up with.
William S. Burroughs
A new race is highly unlikely. They love to hype their content and this would be huge. (not to mention the info would’ve leaked by now)
William S. Burroughs
Meh, the only thing is that in the current economy the tag should be worth at least 400g, not mere 100… A year ago only the most dedicated players were willing to spend such a huge amount of cash on a blue dorito. Now it’s a few days of farming tops.
I like the ever-present blue tags. They help me avoid the megaserver zergs. And free up the maps a bit, compressing the populace in a few spots. Gives others some breathing space.
William S. Burroughs
Hi! Do you realize that this topic is not on the official feedback threads list and is very likely to be completely ignored? ;D

Introducing the megaserver in two weeks without reworking event scaling does not seem like a plan. It looks like a rushed emergency solution.
William S. Burroughs
I’d like to start a list of events that are regularly zerged after the ms introduction and do not scale enough or do it in a way that makes them a chore. Will probably make it easier for Anet to tweak them, if they want to ever get around to it…
- Gavbeorn’s Point defense/recovery (Cursed Shore) – during the defense the spawns are too seldom and sometimes it’s actually impossible to defend the event, as there are too few mobs to deplete the scaled counter. During the recovery it’s usually 40 people waiting for 4 regular mobs that spawn every 10 seconds or so. Not exactly exciting.
- The whole Ulgoth event chain (Harathi Hinterlands) – people strive to hit any centaurs on the way, as they tend to die almost instantaneously. Not camping champions and not being a zerker means you’re probably not getting any boxes. The summoned Earth Elemental is not even for show, as it evaporates as soon as its model finishes loading. The centaur is completely defenseless too, of course.
- The Golem mk II pre-event. (Mount Maelstrom) – it’s done in a blink of an eye, in its current state it might as well be removed completely. Might use some harder trash running around the Golem itself, too.
- Fire Elemental (Metrica Province) – it dies in 40-50 seconds, nobody has to dodge, as the fight will be over before they die. Needs a bit more hp and some means to kill the zerg.
- Shatterer (Blazeridge Steppes) – as usual, does nothing against a zerg and is a hp sponge. Might scale less in hp and more in minions. Some deadly aoe around the paws (and reaching to the infamous hill) would also be a nice addition.
- Grawl attack on Concordia (Timberline Falls) – a farming spot now, those grawl die at spawn and are utterly defenseless against the players. Needs more vets / elites at higher player loads.
These are a few from the top of my head, I’ll add some more when I get the chance to roam the world (all work and no play…), hope you have some of your own to share.
For greater loot. And stuff.
William S. Burroughs
It crossed all those roads on its way to championship. And people kept questioning its motives all the way through.
William S. Burroughs
However, all your other characters seem to earn a millyun Tomes of Knowledge each hour now.
William S. Burroughs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5d6UQawTuBY <— kinda related
It would become a new WvW master race, wouldn’kitten<— would it not ;P). Would allow the poor mesmers to play however their want without being yelled at… But I guess we’re waiting for a heavy class now. A tanky portal engineer thingy?
William S. Burroughs
I like the megaserver, but they really need districting and larger server cap, 150 is a good number for boss events, maybe 200 ?
…
Districts are not possible. Higher caps would make the overcrowding of every poor, badly scaling event even worse. Don’t even mention it, please.
William S. Burroughs
There’s no chance for the megacrapper to be removed, so all that’s left is waiting a year or so for a complete scaling rework… And general spawn changes (2x as many critters everywhere would about do it)… Basically rebuilding the whole open world to accomodate the crowds. The change has been rushed. The damage has been made. Let’s hope they intend to repair it now.
William S. Burroughs
I pray for this to be a chance to escape from zergs.
William S. Burroughs
Would be logical to give us one together with the new legendaries, ’coz with the current drop rates… :P
William S. Burroughs
This… is actually some great news. Long time no see… ;D
William S. Burroughs
This game needs a complete scaling overhaul so we’re surrounded by a lot of mobs more often… Right now it’s at least 5 players for each trash mob and that’s rubbish.
William S. Burroughs
I guess you had to download/click something you shouldn’t have, mate. Accounts don’t get hacked ‘just because’, you have to provide a window to the thieves.
William S. Burroughs
The only reason I’m using Churning Earth less now is because the ever-present multiserver crowds evaporate mobs in fractions of a second. It’s a great skill, when combined with lightning flash.War axe 5 is also awesome, you can even dodge while channeling it… Just had to mention this, because you listed two of my favourite PvE skills.
William S. Burroughs
I wear a slickpack over mine. ’tis perfect.
William S. Burroughs
I just thinks its sad the direction taken, and although I’m not abandoning or uninstalling it yet, I can’t play it in its current state. I have better things to do in other titles than stand around in here at wp’s waiting for spawns… (read as, with the current state of gw2, I can get better value for my limited gaming time in other titles)
Very well said indeed. I loved this game for not forcing me to compete with others for mobs. Now, after waiting for them to spawn, I have to frantically spam aoe in hope that some poor critter will get caught in it before it gets hit with a truckload of dps and evaporates… It’s better scaling or bust at this point.
William S. Burroughs
“Spider Queen AC now does AoE damage even if you stack”
\o\
/o/
:D
This made the day for me. Awesome news. Still, the AC is really kittened easy after the trait scaling introduction, but… it’s something!
As for not listing the changes… It’s good. Nothing like suddenly finding out that something changed in the old, monotonous run and having to actually think and work around it. Besides, the very thought of all the dead stacked players makes me grin. I never stack this boss and leave the dungeon if somebody wants to. :P

I’m against anything that narrows down the build possibilities even further. That’s it. Also, can’t wait for ascended cooking. :P
William S. Burroughs
This is a standard popular event now. A swarm of people standing around, waiting for three to four (GASP) trash mob to appear. Maybe even 10 of these players will manage to get their loot from the aforementioned trash. If they play zerkers. No, really, if the megaserver is here to stay (and it is ;/), we need a massive scaling rework.
William S. Burroughs
Fixing the population problem by introducing the overpopulation problem was THE thing to do.
William S. Burroughs
Hey, guess what? A multitude of events is STILL hopelessly overcrowded without any proper scaling attached!
Just wanted to bump our lil’ ragethread, maybe we’ll get some kind of response someday.
William S. Burroughs
Yup, would love it to stay. I really missed it since the last August and coming back there now actually revived this spark I had when I started playing the game. A beautiful place, and a great LS. The best we had, actually.
