Finishing the tutorial in Wildstar was a challenge. I actually made it through, but later on it did not get any better, to my amazement. :>
William S. Burroughs
Blude, presenting it in such a way would be pure teasing then. Certainly a case of bad marketing. :P

Two months of a bland festival. Well, only 3 days to go
EDIT: I take that back. Just over one month
The Bazaar is one of the most beautiful and interesting zones in the game, mate. I’m glad I’ll be able to enjoy it for another month.
William S. Burroughs
Would be friggin’ great. But then all the people who want some breathing space would escape there, quickly eliminating all the breathing space. :P
William S. Burroughs
I’ve just been called a ‘naab’ for finishing the severed breach defense event. People wanted to fail the last wave. Farming is easy to hate.
And yes, a lot of farmers makes it helluva hard to buy anything valuable for any non-farming player.
William S. Burroughs
Not every idea yet. For example there’s still a bunch of whiney farmers next to the pig iron mine, demanding from people to fail the event, so the loot gets better. My new personal quest is to complete this event as often as it’s humanly possible, ofc.
William S. Burroughs
That’s cool, nevertheless it’s about exotics.
William S. Burroughs
I think this is about exotics, not ascended. The full set of EXOTIC celestials will take 45 days. Which is rather off-putting indeed. :P
My home instance quartz node gives me a single charged crystal once in a while. Not too often, but it happens…

They still would provide a steady profit for their owner. They would soon become almost mandatory in the economy race. No gem store item should be mandatory.
Edit: btw, you were right about not including the gold—>gems removal among the initial propositions. I won’t even argue against it, dude. Just… No.
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
Gem store harvesting tools providing unique resources is a very, very bad idea. Just saying. They should be convenience, not long-term investment. No player should feel forced to buy such items. This comes from a guy with 8 sets.
William S. Burroughs
Servers? What, does the pavillon actually use servers?
William S. Burroughs
Lanky, one of the best things about this game was that it allowed me to progress to the top tier in no time. Then the loot has become a non-issue. Up until now I prolly gave away like 200 gold, just like that, because what do I really need it for?
It MAY however have meaning for those who craft legendaries. I understand that they would like their grind to get a bit easier.
William S. Burroughs
There I was, silly rabbit, thinking that loot has absolutely no meaning and only the gameplay matters. Deary, deary me.
William S. Burroughs
Also. That you think Massively Multiplayer is the same as Zerg is a little troubling.
“A little”. Whenever I see this argument, I wonder what MMOs taught those people this lesson.
William S. Burroughs
Green is such a calming colour…
William S. Burroughs
One commander tagging up is enough to destroy the event, as the herd instincts kick in… And they do tag up most of the time. :P
William S. Burroughs
Playing TP is not difficult. I would never lose 15 minutes of my life on doing it.
William S. Burroughs
Eh, thanks. I guess there’s no better way to get rid of elder/mithril and such anyway…
William S. Burroughs
So… Does anyone else have this problem? Is it even a problem? :P IS WIKI WRONG?! o_O :P
William S. Burroughs
Wiki states what follows: ‘All boxes drop 3-8 Quartz Crystals, with a high chance of a random recipe and a rare chance of a Kite Fortune. During Festival of the Four Winds, drops 5 Festival Tokens.’
Well, 5 boxes opened, no tokens here. What gives? :P
William S. Burroughs
Would’ve been better for those champs to become elites. After the megacrap introduction I’m against anything that removes any even remotely difficult content from the game.
William S. Burroughs
Just temporarily substract 1% of the stats for each use of the word. If somebody is elite enough to spam it, they can deal with it.
William S. Burroughs
One of the advantages Megaservers has over a traditional server merge/split is that it can be done dynamically to improve population where it needs to be improved in either direction – Mid-level areas are usually abandoned even on high-pop servers, while beginning zones, capitals, and end-game areas are overcrowded. Megaservers allows enough mid-level zones to be merged to give a good population of adventurers, while splitting normally-crowded zones to give people breathing space.
The Cursed Shore on Piken Square has become twice/thrice as crowded as it used to be before the introduction of the megaoverflow. And it never had any kind of shortage of people, mind you. The balance you describe is just not there. The system just stuffs as many people as it can into one zone, period.

I always wondered why people don’t run Ashford trains. There’s a really nice bunch of champions there.
William S. Burroughs
The last facebook post about the megaserver has been quickly filled with heavy bashing of it. And then some swift moderation occurred. ;>
William S. Burroughs
2) People leave the game and populations start to stabilize (which is already happening)
For as long as there is enough people to fill a single map, the situation won’t improve at all, I’m afraid. The system will always keep the full load, because bugger us and everything we love.
The suggestion of HIGHER caps is so absurd I don’t even have strength to reply to it…

- improved design of open world events with total scaling solutions rather than the haphazard scaling we have currently
Scaling, yes. Very scaling. Much needed. wow…
This would be pretty much the only way to restore my faith in this game. Heavy, zerg-punishing scaling.

I work in gaming and I do love to throw money at games I like. In a way, I perceive it as supporting my own industry. I imagined this cash will go into making the game even better. Made a mistake. They’ve taken a megadump on my trust. My bad.
William S. Burroughs
I love going there just to see the brainless megaserver blobs die.
William S. Burroughs
Sometimes you run down a slope on the Edge and get a truckload of instakilling damage in 0,5 secs because you dared to use swiftness. ;D
William S. Burroughs
I’m also gradually leaving this game behind, searching through new ones. 60k gems and a year later we’re both leaving, with my gf. The most enjoyable events in the game turned into mindless farm spots due to messed up map caps and lack of scaling. And not a word from anet to make us believe it’s going to get any better. Good game, goodbye.
William S. Burroughs
So you think you can kill me and loot my stuff!
So you think you can steal my buff!
Ohh babyyy, I’ll report you, noob babyyy
Just gotta get out, just gotta get out of the combaaat.
William S. Burroughs
Megatron laughs at your mass convervation, puny human.
William S. Burroughs
You think it’ll have the exact same set of achievs? Excluding those, who have already completed them?
William S. Burroughs
Unless it’s an exact copypaste of the previous edition, achievements included.
William S. Burroughs
‘Traditional’ questing made me quit Wildstar after just a day of playing. :P I’d like to see more dynamic events and the current ones actually scaling to the newly formed zerg swarms, roaming the megaserver’s megaplains…
William S. Burroughs
The design philosophy of the game has been violated in so many ways, that putting in some more actual difficult content for small amounts of players would not cause the continuum to collapse upon itself or anything.
William S. Burroughs
What would you consider to be the bad in the megaserver system
That 90% of the events don’t even scale for those amounts of players and have become idiotic races to get the loot from the poor mobs that evaporate on spawn?
William S. Burroughs
Plus, food helps. Eat something, twiggy.
William S. Burroughs
Even gathering gets you a nice chunk of exp… And it’s quite profitable in the early zones (vanilla! chilli!).
William S. Burroughs
I’ve decided not to get a Predator just because of the exploding feet thing.
William S. Burroughs
anzenketh, exactly: up until Claw Island most storylines are just fine, some even brilliant (Charr Blood Legion!). It all falls apart when they get smashed together and we get the phlegmatic shrub as a commander.
William S. Burroughs
20-30 would not even be that bad in comparison with what is going on right now.
William S. Burroughs
Currently world bosses are the most mindless content in the game (always have been in the zerg and now you just can’t avoid zerg), so… no. What’s more, many people wouldn’t be able to get some specific skin set just because of the new schedule, so… double no.
William S. Burroughs
Lanfear, doing Golem and Fire Elemental solo or with 2-3 players was mighty fun… And I was doing it on Piken, so no population problems there. Just had to stay up late… It was worth it, going to miss it. :/
William S. Burroughs
Who wouldn’t love fighting a huge swarm of players for the 1/100th of the available loot? ;D
William S. Burroughs
Yess, spread the word, fellow junkie. ;D
Minimap can be minimized even further, essentially removing it from my view, along with the filthy, deceased crowd. Eh, who am I kidding, dying is not even a problem anymore, barring maybe two Cursed Shore events.
William S. Burroughs
(edited by Asmodeus.5782)
Guzzi: I love seeing people die since the megaserver hit us. Every person on the ground makes the crowd slightly more bearable.
William S. Burroughs
Yeah, every available event is chock full of players, making it a boring and mindless autoattack extravaganza. We either need more events or some massive scaling rework that would make the current ones at least remotely challenging.
William S. Burroughs
