ANet only gives account restoration to hacked accounts. Ones that were accessed from a different location. If he used your computer they can’t tell the difference between you deleting characters and then regretting it and him deleting characters.
It may be a case of closing the barn door after the horse is gone, but you need to remove the ‘remember my password’ feature on it. (Or how did he get access to your account?)
You can always try support (I see that you did) but I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I was you.
I don’t actually recall seeing anyone wearing that particular crown in game. The closest I can recall is the hat, ice crown http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ice_Crown. The other is the HoM reward.
Huh. I thought it did that for everyone. Every time I switch toons, not only do I have to reset my chats (first one party, second to guild, 3rd to map and 4th to say because it makes them all either map or say) but I lose all the previous guild chat. Being that this game relys heavily on lore and storylines the NPC we refer to as “Nick” would have to be a descendant or someone who was willing to pick up the torch and carry on once more in Nicks name. Continueing a weekly travel across tyria in memorry if his or her ansestors tradition. Even celebrating the aniversery of Nick the hero? And why not throw in a Yakkslapper Staff to boot.
he does have a descendant in the game named Nick. You don’t get to meet him but you can talk to his friend who is gathering items for him.
Maybe you could guest over to one of your opposing servers and talk to people there. If they are willing to help you, party up with them and you both enter your respective wvw’s. I assume they will be able to see your party dot and speak to you. You make your way over to each other then you go invisible and they tell you if they can see your footsteps. This assumes of course they won’t lie to you but it’s one way to find out.

It is absolutely intended that you can fight people in the JP. The fact that so many people are piling into the map to get the achievement is good for any and all of you who are capable of laying the smack down on them, and, if they manage to fight back is hopefully going to encourage some of them to stick around and play WvW. If you don’t want to get killed by other players, don’t play WvW. Plain and simple. The achievement isn’t required for getting the meta-achievement on purpose.
As far as they are concerned PvE players dying is ‘as intended’. If you don’t like it then their opinion of it is ‘stay out, it’s not for you’.
Ok, I know this is a noob question but how do you make money with it?
Whenever I do the mystic forge for the daily, do 4 sets of forging, I always lose money. If I combine sets of high level greens I never get anything but greens back. So I lose all the money from those that I could have gotten by simply vendering them. If I forge rares then I lose all the ectos and other items I could have gotten by salvaging them. I know the conversion from green to rare and rare to exotic is low but even if you get one rare (worth around 15 silver) out of 20 greens (worth over 20 silver) you still lose money. If you forge 20 rares worth 15 silver each, you would have to get an exotic worth 3 gold just to break even (not counting the money lost by not salvaging the rares and getting ectos, mats and upgrades). As to my luck, I have never gotten a rare out of 20 greens or an exotic out of 20 rares.
So, why use the mystic forge unless you are trying for a legendary or making something in particular?
Axes, picks and sickles are not a gold sink. You can buy them with karma.
Try paying for a waypoint with karma.
Yep. I haven’t paid with money for a single ori pick, axe or sickle in a long time. The pick requires you to do a DE in Southsun but the other 2 are sold in Orr. You can even buy fine salvage kits for general salvaging with karma (several of the cultural weapon sellers).
You don’t get a suspension or ban based on what you were doing at that moment. It’s based on actions in the past. Since they ban bots in waves then it can be many days to maybe weeks in the past depending on ANet’s ban schedule.
As SandraSolace says, if you were banned in error then you go to support at the top of this page then to Ask A Question and make out a ticket.
Not trying to be offending, but the word of a total stranger in a video game where person to person trading is not supported by the Devs, it’s not worth the (digital) paper it’s printed on. I’m sure you are completely honest and trustworthy. The problem is that people who lie, cheat and steal use exactly the same words. Since trading between players is unsupported, I’m not sure that scammers using trade are even banned. And even if they are banned, the scammed are unlikely to get their items back.
Since people have no way to separate you from a dishonest person using exactly the same words, why should they trust you with minis worth hundreds of golds.
Make an arrangement with a guildie where you hand over collateral valued the same as the minis loaned. Then you trust the guildie to give you back the gold and not steal it from you.

He does not need to stop playing Guild Wars 2 or any other video game.
He does not have a psychiatric condition but rather a medical condition which is treated by desensitization therapy.
While not an expert on phobias, what I do know is the more the person “respects” the phobia instead of confronting it, the more room it takes from the person’s life and the worse they become. They’re kinda like bullies that way. I’ve never read of phobias being untreatable. Severe maybe. Difficult to treat maybe. But not untreatable. And the core way to treat them is through desensitization.
Treating phobias is not a solitary situation. The person needs help to confront his fears. There have been people who have been so incapacitate by phobias that they are unable to work or leave their homes. Some people have lived for years in their houses, barricaded against what they fear. These people have been successfully treated. If he hasn’t tried desensitization he needs to try it under a doctors care. If his phobia is severe, treatment can start with pictures of the feared object. For example, he person has a picture of it and has it in the room. It can be way across the room. He starts by getting used to the picture across the room and then, by stages, gets closer to it. When it feels like its too much he backs away then tries again. If the phobia is severe enough, he has to start small. But the important thing is to try. If he tried it once and it didn’t work, then that does not mean another attempt won’t work.
One of the people I play with is/was terrified of sharks. In the betas we just went and stood around in shark free water so she could get used to that first. She could barely get in the water if she knew sharks were in there and she had to get out of the water if she saw one in the distance. But she didn’t let this phobia stop her. She continued to try and then started attacking them. If it got to be too much we went to shore and tried again a later time. She now is able to get on the water and take on veteran sharks. She hasn’t said anything lately about her phobia. I’m sure it’s still there to some extent but not near as bad.
People who help others keep their problems are called enablers. You are not helping him by enabling him to remain afraid of a harmless image. You don’t help people with phobias by helping them avoid the phobia. Especially phobias that involve harmless pixels on a screen. If you really wanted to help him you would work with him on desensitizing him. Have him bring up the air elemental for one minute in LA then remove it by waypointing to the mists and back till he can stand seeing it. Then 2 minutes, then 3.
I have tried the wait 15 seconds, that didn’t work, I do not have a Mac, and I have plenty of available credit on my card.
Sometimes people hit some sort of limit in the cash shop even though they have (normally) plenty of available credit. Have you made several gem purchases within a short period of time? Apparently the gem store has a built in monthly purchase limit.

One guy had a problem with buying things. He suggested waiting about 15 seconds between clicking next and confirm. Said it cleared up the problem for him and 3 of his friends.
Another possibility is you hit a credit limit. In that case contact support and see about raising it. Use the support tab at the top then ‘Ask A Question’.
A third possibility is a bug from using Mac computer.
If your going for 50/50 I bid you good luck achieving the cartographer titles. Unless they added a feature that tells you what parts you missed your in for a hell of a grind. Scrape…scrape…scrape until you brake down and cry. O and i hope you can manage with the bot infestation in alliance battles.
Textmod is the cartographer’s friend. I don’t see how people got that title without it.
This is what the world looks like with textmod on. You can see what is yet undone. You just have to scrape along the edges till the borders align.
I’ve logged on to Guild Wars 1 a few times in the last few months. It’s not dead yet. Even in the middle of the week there may be 2 districts in Kamadan and pre searing Ascalon. The little outposts are vacant but there are still a number of people playing.
It’s not my guild leaders account, its a friend thats in the guild. The Guild leader is trying to contact himvia Playstation Network, to tell him his account is hacked, we haven’t contacted him yet, and like Astral said we want to protect his account. We’re having all our guildies report his account for botting, but its not doing anything. Is there any way to have support look into this without waiting for the automated ban system?
It can take a while for account to check all the reports of bots and then ban them. They also tend to ban in waves. The reporting is more for them to pinpoint goldsellers. Since you’ve reported, all you can do now is try to contact him. When he gets his account back he will probably need to go thru account restoration to get his stuff back. Unless he was so low level it doesn’t matter.

It’s ok. Everyone makes mistakes. I figured you were playing some other character for a while and forgot about that little detail on this one. ^^. And a lot of new people don’t know about the downleveling. That’s not a feature in other games that I know of.
You had to have bought gems with real money from April 1st to June 30th to get one as a free gift. It can’t have been with ingame money or they would be rewarding double for the same gems. Once to the people who used real money then a second time to the people who used gold. Also, it’s only the people who used real money that put real money in ANet’s pockets.
Elementalists (and engineers) don’t have a swap weapon ability. The reason why is an ele has 20 skills per weapon as opposed to everyone else’s 5 skills. So, you didn’t lose it. You never had it and misremembered.

As to your HP, because of downleveling it will vary according to where you are. If you look at your level indicator bar, at the bottom most left, there is the number 11 with a green down arrow and the number 7. This means you have been down leveled to level 7. Which lowers your health and your stats. This is used to make sure the game remains challenging and so high level characters can play in low level areas with low level friends and it won’t be too easy for them. You might want to try posting in the Tech support forum. This forum is for people with lost passwords or who want to appeal suspensions, stuff like that.
I, for one, appreciated them not putting the items in a freaking RNG box so I spent a few dollars to buy the gem store kite fortunes. Put the Fortune Scraps from those with the ones ingame and bought a backpiece. If people want to encourage ANet to not use the RNG boxes, they should spend money when ANet offers stuff like this.
I remember going into the starter area at level 20 in Guild Wars 1 (max level) and one shotting the creatures there. While it was at first mildly amusing to one shot all the mobs that gave me trouble as a low level (take that! Level 5 Suneh Stormbringer) it didn’t take long for it to be boring. And the drops were terrible. With downleveling there is a good chance for level appropriate drops, including the occasional rare. And it’s not so boring.

Also, they prefer you to have one ticket only. If you have more then one active you should close the extras.

Choose password reset and fill in what information he has. Leave the unknown information spots blank. If support needs more, they can email him to work it out.
Not everyone is a native English speaker who will see these grammatical errors. Also people who are less educated or young may not see them or if they see them they may not consider the mistakes important. They may be alarmed by the message and not stop to consider it might be fake. As long as it gets some people to click the link, then it’s done the job the scammer intended.
If you want to report an account for botting, click on his name and select ‘report player’ or whatever the wording is. Then select botting as an option. If he wasn’t actually hacked, if it was him that stole the guild stuff, then nothing will happen because you reported him. They will look at the account and decide for themselves.
No doubt. But if his account was stolen they may be using it for botting, gold selling, deleted some of his characters, sold his stuff. They are likely to get involved anyway for those reasons. But you don’t have to report. Let them continue to bot, gold sell and strip his account while you attempt to contact your friend.
It’s a gamble to hold on to them. People want them now because they are the new shiny. The people who will want theses catchers will get them during this update. Next update there will be another shiny for people to want and the catchers will no longer be hot.
My guess it may go up in value but only after a long time. When new people come in who want to collect old shinies. It may take months to years for the price to go up much.
Badly needed. Not everyone knows what unique means or will think to google a word they know the meaning of. In Guild Wars 1 unique meant it was a green weapon and you could equip up to 4 of them at a time if you wanted to. Here it means you can’t wear 2 of the same. I didn’t make this mistake but when I read it I thought it meant that no other item has the same stats. I had to read the forum to find out the in game meaning and to find out that people are supposed to stop and wiki the meaning of a word that has a common, accepted real world meaning.
