Transferring
To transfer to a different world, go to the character selection screen (using F12 or when you first logon) and select the desired world; you will be logged out while the game makes these changes, which might take 5-30 minutes. You can transfer once every seven days at a cost determined by the destination server population.

The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.

Mine gets really hot. I’ve resorted to having a fan blow across it to keep it cooler. And it’s a computer I bought 10 months ago.

One direction (for balance sake of not adding another profession) would be adding scythe and/or a traitline of “flash boons”, auras etc. to an existing classes. This would be a way to add new build opportunities to existing classes and also incorporate some of the feeling of the dual-class system from GW that some people miss.

OP said he was not able to get the account back. Which to me meant he he tried support and the account has been terminated for whatever reason. If that is the case, they won’t reopen the account, even just for a few minutes.

The question is, it’s mine error or their because they didn’t put a warning to an exotic item, same with karma exchangers it was obvious that karma exchanging was wrong but no warning with exotic is not.

I love how people raging about this, it’s not even their item.

It was an old, several months back thread. The forum doesn’t allow searches of threads past a certain age. I did find this though.

Concerning someone who wanted a confirmation about soul bound items when deleting a character.

You’re welcome to suggest the “multiple tab” idea in the Suggestions Forum. I can see both sides of that, with greater assurance of noting the soulbound-ed-ness of an item, but with more time taken in reviewing all those tabs. So I suggest you share the thought in that forum and see what other players say.
I personally don’t think another confirmation system is the answer, but the devs may feel that it would be a good thing to have that (and they know a lot more than I do about the whole player experience ) . The bottom line — as I learned long ago in GW when I blithely hit “accept” and vendored a white dye — is that you need to slow down just a bit and pay attention to what you’re doing. No amount of “hand holding” (an apt term, imo) can prevent someone from doing something foolish. (Case in point, accidental deletions of characters. It’s surprising that someone does that, actually types out the name and still deletes in error.)

At this time, from what I have read of it, it sounds like you are out of luck and will need to make a new guild. There is no automatic promotion system set up for leaders who no longer log in and ANet can’t/won’t do so manually.

I created my account a week ago. My brother got the game this weekend. Now that he bought the game my server is now full and he can’t join my server. I would like to join his server. I have read if you delete all your characters you can transfer your home world for free. I have deleted all but my last character. Where did you read that? I’ve deleted all of my characters multiple times and never had that option.

The only way I was aware of was through gems.

It always stuck me as inappropriate. Seeing a huge female Norn Necromancer jogging by in a miniskirt, that shows her underwear, and a garter belt is jarring. I had the Hall of Monuments. As soon as I got out of the starter instance I went there and got something more appropriate.

Yeah. I put my female thief in the Krytan armor. It’s not really thematically appropriate, looks more like necro armor with all the skulls, but I was so sick of the long coats.

I would have put it on my Ranger as it is ranger armor but he is male and on him, it’s another long coat.

Use the guide then to check the prices on the ones you don’t have and see if its possible.

Solo as in “completely by yourself”, or solo as in “just not grouped up”? Except for dungeons you don’t have to group up for anything. Even harder mobs can be killed with a few folks around and you get credit even without being in a group.

If you are really all by yourself later champ mobs will be hard to take down by yourself. Some places will be hard to get to unless you play certain classes.

But to get to 80, you can stick to Queensdale all day long, as your XP rewards scale with your level.

Very true. Some of my toons I finished up the last few levels by running them thru the starter zones events. Some areas, like mid level Queensdale and the level 2-5 Norn area have back to back events. It’s very easy to gain a couple of levels doing those.

So, in general, slowed movement and increased skill recharge. Probably wont work if the boss has Defiant.

That was a lesson. Don’t click salvage on items you don’t want to salvage. Cost: one ecto. A bargain at the price.

You really didn’t contact support about one ecto did you? No wonder they get bogged down with such frivolous reports coming in.

OP, there is a saying that goes ‘your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins’. In this case, ‘your right to make noise/music ends where my ears begin’. It’s a egocentric expectation that insists that everyone around you must listen to whatever noise you are making. Whether its good or not is irrelevant. You could be Mozart reborn but if I don’t want to hear you then it’s noise.

I know of one bug. Some people have to visit the Chantry of Secrets again after they hit 100%.

The search function is bugged. There are threads about it. As a test I’ve searched for threads I can see on that page and it had it turn up zero responses. Also it won’t bring up threads that are older than a certain age. There are threads I knew the exact title for because I posted in them and could find them in my forum profile and was unable to pull them up with search.

One problem is that when you type something like Race, it doesn’t pull the threads up. You have to know that you need to force it to type race. Most people are not going to realize this and not know why their search failed.

So you are being a little harsh with these people. They could have easily searched as you suggested and gotten nothing.

There was a lot of discussion, mostly negative, about this starting armor when the game launched. Most people have way out leveled it so its no longer a consideration.

One thing you can do is get the transmutation stones from fully exploring areas, including cities, or you can buy them from the gem store.Then check the armor in the trading post, you can preview it to see what it looks like. Buy a look you like then transmute the look. Under level 80 use the yellow stones and level 80 uses white stones (or crystals). So check and make sure the armor level is appropriate to the T stones you have.

There is also karma armor that various heart venders sale. But you have to be able to get to them. Might be difficult at low level.

If you have something to add, make another post on your old thread. Don’t make a new post each time you want to say something more. It clutters up the forum.

An easy way to do it is to go to all the level 1-15 zones first then the 15-25 zones and so on until you get level 80. I leveled all mine to 80 this way pretty much. They never saw more than a couple of mid level zones before level 80.

You might want to use the zenith torch or some other torch skin as a place holder till you get it. It may take a while.

Ok, if you got hacked you need to contact support from the tab at the top of this page then go to ‘Ask a Question’. From there you can get them to give you an account rollback. Be aware though that this is a one time option so if you get hacked again it is not available.

While you are waiting for support, which may take a day or so, do a security scan of your computer, including looking for keyloggers. You will also need to change the password as someone else has your password. You should think about how someone else got access to your account. Do you have the IP verification set up? If not you should set it up. If you do have it set up, could someone in your household gotten access to your account? This will make a difference to whether or not support can help you.

The reason they given before.

They have a budget on the amount of people in support and the amount and type of help they give needs to be within that budget (no subscriptions remember). This means if its player error then they don’t normally refund for it. It would take a lot of support’s time (which costs money) to research all the tens to hundreds of these types of mistakes that people make every day. If support is tied up doing this, then it’s not helping other people who have problems not related to player error. Which leads to slow responce times to helping them. And if people know they can make errors and get a refund, then they will be careless and then tie up more support hours fixing their mistakes.

They had to draw a line to where they would stop helping. Player error is on the other side of the line. The one place I have seen them make an exception is concerning purchases from the laurel vender.

As to your other point, yes they should have a buy back option on all these venders. People make mistakes. It happens. They should have put that in so you can sell back unbound items. Then they wouldn’t have people going through support and taking up their time.

The only way to get it back is to try for another ticket. The dragon coffers are still being sold on the TP. When you get the money, buy some until you get a ticket. Be aware though. While some people got a ticket within a few tries, others didn’t get one after several thousand coffers. I read one post where a guy didn’t get a ticket until he opened over 7 thousand coffers.

You get one retroactive chest a day. It will be at reset and you may need to back out to the character screen to activate it at that time.

Edit: it is set at the daily reset time. If you aren’t playing at that time but log on later then it will show up whenever you log on.

An invitation counts as being one of your guilds? Where did you read that? That sounds unlikely.

For general PvE, I got green gear about every 10 levels. Whether or not you want to get rares if you do dungeoning is up to you. Many people don’t do dungeons till they hit 80. Most groups are level 80 now and unless they are guildies, they usually want other 80s.

Would you prefer that it didn’t tell you your bags are full so that you stop getting loot until you finally notice at the end of the day?

To some extent I could go along with that reasoning, except that some of the armor sets created for female humans ARE female on Asura as well – like the feathered and winged sets. Also the TA set has a female option on the Asura. The feathered and TA sets even expose the chest skin where it would normally have supported breasts/cleavage on human and norn characters.

It would only take some minor tweaking/reworking to get the armor to appear nicely on an Asura female vs. Asura male. Yes, it might have to look slightly different than it does on a human – but it could still be a female/feminine variant. I see this as perhaps laziness on the designers part for not crafting up an Asura (and Charr) feminine variant of each armor set. If you create the race – you ought to be prepared to have to dress them too.

As far as the lack of bodily characteristics – that’s crap! Just because they share the same form does not mean they share the same taste/style/gender mindset. Not every Asura female born is a tomboy who prefers to dress as a guy I would think. Although their research is paramount, I am sure they might give a small nod to their personal style occasionally too.

Of course this begs the question, do Asura find feminine clothing appropriate on female Asura? They are a different species than human, obviously. Which means they will find different thing sexy or attactive than a human will. The lore says they consider long ears and high foreheads sexy. Since clothing that is gender specific takes in consideration gender differences and since there are no obvious gender differences among Asura, would they have invented feminine clothing or masculine clothing? Or would their clothing be unisex?

While I can sympathize with people who want to dress up their female Asura. I have to feel that it is inappropriate to dress them in human type feminine outfits. That it doesn’t match the lore and that it is an anthropomorphizing (trying to make something that is not human act or look like a human) of a non human species.

The fact that ANet made some armor feminine for them may be because they know that people want this and they were willing to bend the lore a little, imo.

I was thinking more of a gem store item. You get to a high place, double click on the item in your inventory so you get a hang glider then you glide off the high spot. For something like that, I wouldn’t mind it taking an inventory spot.

If it was fixed to only certain places then people would have less of an incentive to find random high places to jump off of.

Jumping out of a window in Rata Sum would be really cool. ^^

Correction- server population is determined not by the number of accounts made on a server, but by the number of people currently playing. So if a server is full, then there are a good number of people populating it, but they tend to be concentrated elsewhere,

Two different Anet employees already said that it doesn’t work that way. It is based on the amount of accounts linked to the server.

Could I see these posts, out of curiosity? It contradicts what I’ve and others observed:

-On the busiest travel day of the year, I was watching the server list so my friend could transfer to TC. I saw server populations drop nearly across the board- Very High servers dropped to High, and High servers dropped to Medium. Only two servers stayed at Full, those being Jade Quarry and Tarnished Coast. It doesn’t rule out the possibility of a server cap increase, but with every cap increase, all Full servers drop to Very High and remain that way for several weeks.

-Several posters have said that they have seen Tarnished Coast fluctuate to Very High from Full at specific times of day- either noon or the dead of night. I myself have seen TC drop to Very High at 3 in the morning (again for a friend who wanted to transfer), and rise immediately back to Full in seconds. Since these times correlate with when people work or sleep, the most plausible explanation is that people are simply not playing, leaving vacancies on the server.

It doesn’t rule out other factors, but it’s just strange.

Here’s some information on server capacity, straight from our team lead, Stephen:
People actually do change servers, so some Full servers become Very High just from people moving around.
We continuously monitor the World populations and make adjustments, but there is no scheduled update period. It depends on demand for particular worlds and how much people move around and (don’t forget) how many new players join specific worlds.
We frequently adjust the World population caps just before events, but that’s not guaranteed.
So there may be adjustments made as or even before Wintersday gets into full swing — it will happen if needed. But those adjustments are a normal thing and from what I’ve seen, the team is watching the World every day, so the near-daily adjustment could be so subtle you don’t notice them as frequently as they happen.
Somehow I think the Wintersday event will be so exciting that the capacities will be raised, and count on the team to do that if it’s needed.

I’m starting to feel some sympathy for the people who want a race change. I’ve been wishing I made a Norn necro rather than a Sylvari one now that I’ve seen the necro face mask on the Norn. The same face mask on the Sylvari just puts a faint coloration around the eyes.

I strongly suspect that ascended gear will be outrageously expensive and time consuming to get. Which also means you can’t easily change builds or get multiple armor with different stats.

Might as well stay with exotics. Since you can do most content easily enough with rares, ascended is a bit of overkill.

I have 8 level 80s. Getting ascended for all of them will be a chore.

Wich ones do you still need for the 16/16. I imagine you have the 8 infused crytsals one by now?

How does a friend help? If you fall into the lava, do they jump down there and revive you? Now if you are talking about Mes ports, that’s different.

Tip for that JP: Take off all your armor before starting and you’ll save some money.

One way another person can help you is, if you are slow like I am, ^^, when you get to a ledge halfway on a path you can wait there for a bit till the path disappears. They will be at the previous station. They interact with the control again so the path reappears and you have more time to get to the next station.

This actually sounds like fun. It’s not flying so you can’t reach the tops of jumping puzzles or vistas with it. It doesn’t allow you to skip content. It actually encourages people to explore and find high places to glide from. I’d be a lot more inclined to climb high places just to be able to glide down from there.
