You can access lost passwords sometimes from browser options. If its been reset this may not help you but it’s worth a try.

Sorry. I doubt there is anything they can do. They can’t remove the influence from that guild now.

If they just were to give the money/gems back in situations like this then unethical people could buy influence for a guild, say it was the wrong guild and get the money back then buy more influence for that or another guild. Or it could be a person who gave the influence to the guild, gets into a fight with that guild and then wants their money back.

Since they don’t have the tools to remove the influence then they can’t give you a refund.

Yes, until you remove their name or until they add you as a friend also.

Until ANet says “this is not allowed”, if it’s in the game and achievable using only in-game methods (e.g.: no third party programs and such), it’s legal.

Try that logic on the people who were banned for the chili poppers or the buying weapons for cheap karma.

If they are selling for 40 to 50 gold each then obviously some people like them. The game has to try to appeal to many different tastes. No one is going to like all the skins. If you don’t like this set, then save your money for another.

There is a thread with a Dev response in the Game Bugs forum. You might want to add to that one since it has their attention there.

You can either delete the character or buy a renaming contact from the gem store. The name will belong to your account for 24 hours and then be released for anyone to use. So you should set up a time between you that he can take the name when it is released.

People will see your character name. Guildies and friends can also find your display name in the guild roster, chat and the friends list (that is, the character name will show but the display name will appear if you mouse over it). Probably also in parties but not positive, haven’t looked lately.

Seems to me that they’re moving to that, having a permanently dropping single currency for new RNG based weapon sets, and keeping them on the game permanently as well, but with a substantial discount if you get them during the apropiate event, we’ll see if it’s a one time thing or a new permanent way to get the new skins.

That sounds reasonable, I dislike the sheer scale of the price hike after 2 weeks (5 times the price is very steep) but if this is their new pattern for the future then you could keep a Black Lion Claim ticket until a set comes along with a weapon that you like and then buy it.

It’s just a pity they didn’t make the Black Lion Claim tickets trade-able instead of the skins, oh well.

I don’t understand what you mean by commission here. A commission to me if someone sends another person mats and that person then crafts the item for a fee. You can do this now if you trust the person. Are you asking for something else? Asking for a secure, non scammable way to do this? When you are talking about a feature in other games you might want to define it first.

I think its the latter he’s asking for. A way for one player to “give permission” to another player, which would then let that player use the other player’s items to craft something, then automatically give it to the other character.

For example, Player A is a 400 skill Tailor. Player B has no tailoring skills and wants an Exotic level 80 chest piece. Player B has the items required to make said item. The two players open some kind of dialogue box where Player A requests a certain amount of gold, Player B accepts the gold amount. Now Player A has access to Player B’s inventory and can craft the item directly using Player B’s crafting mats, but without having to send the items through the mail. Player A crafts the item, and it gets sent to Player B automatically on completion.

At least that’d be me understanding of the situation. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a system like this in another game personally, though I’ve only played like one other MMO (Star Wars Galaxies back in the days before it turned to crap) so I don’t really have much experience.

If you have to send them the gold first then you still have to trust them to make your item and not just keep the gold and do nothing. Not particularly an improvement as you can still be scammed. Since its scammable my guess ANet won’t put such a feature in as they never put in player-to-player trading for that reason.

No. They were removed some time ago. iirc, shortly after that living story ended.

Maybe they made it this way because it was easier to time gate it by using skill point sites than thru the mystic forge or crafting panel? The skill point places already have a cut off after you use them once. It might have been easier to work around that rather than add it to another site.

Yes, but if they have game messages enabled it will tell them in chat when you log on or off. And they can still see which map you are on if they check their friends list even if you are “invisible”.

I was doing awful on my warrior, happened to check the traits and they were all zero. This was right after the last patch where they redid a lot of traits.

My dog got into a sticker patch and came out COVERED with stickers. >.>

This is disappointing. Why can’t we just have a guaranteed scrap from the chest?

When the Aetherized Weapons from BLTC reward was first explained, many people thought that you get a super-rare chance at a whole ticket and otherwise a guaranteed scrap. “Finally, Anet got rid of RNG!” we thought after the Kite Fortune system was well-received.

It seems they made it worse in that you get a rare chance at a tenth of a part of the new weapon skins from an item you get with gems.

The question is, how many people actually bought the kite fortune scraps? If very few did as compared to the numbers who buy keys then ANet will go back to the RNG because I bet it makes them more money.

It was removed from dungeons to stop people from taking a boss down by running to it, doing some damage, dying and repeating. They wanted people to use skill and tactics instead, weird as that thought might be.

If using skill and tactics are not to your taste I’m sure you can find another game to suit you.

In Guild Wars 1 the towns had henchmen you could add to your party. Maybe these zones need henchmen standing by the portals that you could take. Not necessarily a whole parties worth but maybe 2 or so. More can respawn as they are taken.

Maybe one day they will put is underflow servers to merge low population zones. However it will be a problem with timers. If someone goes to a map to do a particular event and gets put into another server where the event is over with, then that’s a problem I’m not sure how they can get around.

There is a seven day cooldown between transfers. If someone tries to transfer within that time, then they will fail. Or maybe there was a bug. But other than that it should work.

Yah, bad all around. Figure out how he did it and go from there when tightening up security. At least you only lost intangible items and got rid of him before he stole real stuff.

Reducing suspensions would cause two problems that I can see. One, they are to enforce standards. If two increasingly long suspensions haven’t taught you to ‘choose wisely’ then reducing it certainly won’t. Increasing punishment is the only way to get through to some people. Second, giving some people reduced suspensions brings out charges of favoritism which would be bad for ANet’s reputation.

The next suspension you get will be even longer. Which is more likely to make you not offend? That information or knowing you could get it reduced just by asking?

If he hasn’t been playing and his account was banned, it was probably hacked.

He needs to go to the support tab at the top of this page then to ‘Ask a Question’. Make out a ticket and see about getting it unbanned. If his account was stripped then he may want to get an account restoration. He needs to be aware that this is a one time thing so if he didn’t lose anything of importance he may prefer to simply start over and keep that option open for if he ever really needs it.

He also needs to run a security scan of his computer, check for key loggers and set up the email IP confirmation if he doesn’t have that.

By the way, if his display name, joaosimpson. 5873, is his real name it would be best if he got that changed by support.

How fast they get to you will depend on how busy they are. The time I contacted them it took a full day to get a response back from a real person. You just need to wait. They don’t want people to jump the line by coming to the forum and posting. This is more for people who haven’t received a response for several day, have a question on what to do or are appealing a decision.

Yes. If you delete your characters you can go to the character selection screen and select a new server. It will take several minutes to half an hour to transfer.

There is a 7 day cooldown between transfers so if your friend wanted to come back to the previous server by deleting his characters then he could do so.

You can guest to his server or he to yours if he is within the same group, NA or EU, but you can’t do WvW together.

Be sure and remove all non soulbound property and money and put it in the bank. You can sell your soulbound items to a vender. If you have a guild for yourself or the two of you, take all the items out and put it in your bank. You will lose any influence gained and will have to start over.

It was replaced with the current launcher, which is better because it allows you to log into the game without typing your password; saves a bunch of time.

I’d much rather have that, than to see a animated screen just to type a password in.

Very nice post. Like any game there are minor annoyances. Digging through your inventory for weapons, extra loading screens, having builds you can switch to when circumstances change. Nothing really major but as you said, makes playing easier.

(And now you are going to get the obligatory person who objects to ele’s being able to switch weapons out of combat, just warning you. ^^)

Do Asurans speak English? Maybe the language is being translated from New Krytan and its the translators fault. The Asura is probably saying hypothesis and the translator is saying theory.

As too how long they will stay, since they are tied to the latest Living Story, the Bazaar of the Four Winds, my guess its likely they will stay till the end of that then be removed. But only ANet knows for sure. Anything else is speculation. ^^

Yah. Looks like they are trying hard. If it was me I would contact support and change both my password and my email. It looks like they have your password and your email, they are just trying to get past the email IPs authorization.
